The lobster bites came with a lemon wedge and their house Thousand Island sauce, and that sauce was incredible. The combination of the crispy lobster, lemon, and sauce worked perfectly together. The broccolini was also seasoned really well and paired nicely with the grilled lemon. I ordered an Old Fashioned, and it was one of the smoothest I've had. One detail I loved was that they stamped the restaurant's logo into the ice cube. Small touch, but really cool. For my main course, I ordered the Grilled Huli Huli Chicken with a crispy rice cake, pineapple, greens, and a house sauce that completely made the dish. The sweet and tangy flavor paired perfectly with the chicken. Me and my girlfriend also shared the mac and cheese, and honestly, this was one of the best mac and cheeses I've had. It was rich, creamy, well-seasoned, and the breadcrumbs on top added the perfect texture. My girlfriend ordered the braised short rib with garlic mashed potatoes and carrot purée. The short rib was so tender it practically fell apart with a fork. Everything on the plate was delicious. One thing that surprised me was the portion sizes. Everything was very filling, and we ended up taking some food home. By the time dessert came around, we were already pretty full, but there was no way we were skipping it. To finish the night, we shared the Ghirardelli triple chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and strawberries. It was the perfect way to end the meal. The restaurant was busy and lively, but it never felt crowded. The tables were spaced out really well, so my girlfriend and I could still enjoy our conversation and watch the basketball game. I also appreciated seeing Chef Q and his wife walking around and checking on guests throughout the night. They stopped by tables to see how everyone was enjoying their food, which was a really nice touch. I even had the chance to take a picture with Chef Q before we left, which was super cool. The broccolini was great too (it was the veggie I chose). And... the carrot cake! Bravo! I love a great carrot cake. The unfortunate negative for us? And I hate to even mention this, but it was definitely a thing for us... the musician, whom I LOVED for his talent and music... was just too loud for us. Not sure what to suggest on that. We enjoyed the music, but we couldn't hear anything else. We couldn't hear each other... we couldn't hear the waiter more often than not... the horn (clarinet) just blasted us out. One came with the side salad and vinaigrette, while the other came with fries. We also ordered two French Dip sandwiches, which were equally delicious. The meat was incredibly moist, tender, and perfectly prepared. And the fries deserve a mention of their own--plump and crispy at the same time, exactly the way fries should be! The ambiance at Bennett's is always fantastic. It's a beautiful restaurant with a comfortable, welcoming atmosphere that makes it a great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy a meal. But what really made our visit special was our waitress, Stevie. She was simply fantastic! She checked in on us regularly, kept everything moving, and showed a great deal of patience working with this group of happy-hour seniors! We certainly gave her plenty to keep track of, and she handled it all with a smile. We will definitely be back. Bennett's consistently delivers a great meal in a beautiful setting, but what really stands out is the effort they put into customer service. The server offered to make me another entree but I did not want to wait another 30 minutes so I choked down what I had. Value is not good. The burger is $20, for example. Prices are a bit too high for the experience you are getting. Verdict: We may be back, as 2/3 of the food was quite good, they just failed on my pasta dish. But it's pricey, so who knows. There's one menu per month, seasonally chosen ingredients, with a choice of two entrees. Otherwise, the four course menu is set. There are wine pairings, "classic" and "premium". We tried both and they are equally good choices. There's also a wine list which also has excellent selections. Reservations are needed. Check online for the menu details. Our meal started with a watermelon salad which was quite tasty and refreshing. So nice and light for a warm summer day. Next came a corn soup that had to be the creamiest and most delicious corn soup I've ever had. YUM! The flavors melded so well together with a variety of ingredients to make it complex. The addition of peppers (I believe Pablano) really added a nice light kick. I chose the filet mignon and prawns as my entree which came with asparagus. The filet minon was exceptional. It cut like butter and flavored to perfection. The prawns, as well, were very satisfying. Dessert topped it off nicely and I had it with a cup of coffee. The coffee was high quality and brewed well. The wings were dry, which our kid said isn't usually the norm since they order them regularly, but the mac 'n cheese balls were a hit, as usual. Service here is friendly, and the hostesses were warm and welcoming when we first walked in. Our server, Jessica B., was friendly and accommodating, offered solid recommendations, and checked in with us frequently without being overbearing. Our biggest bone to pick, though, was with the chairs in the outdoor seating area. All three of us were uncomfortable and hurting after a relatively short amount of time.
