We finally tried Farmhaus, the little restaurant literally around the corner from our house, and I'm really glad we did. I moved here about three years ago and tried a few times back then to get a reservation, but they were always completely booked. After a while, I kind of forgot about them--even though they're right down the street. This month, I decided to take my wife there for her birthday since we've heard so many good things and wanted to finally check it out. The food was excellent. The standout dishes of the night were hands down the butternut squash salad and the steak. The butternut squash salad was incredible--perfectly balanced, flavorful, and honestly one of the best salads I've had in a long time. The steak was cooked beautifully and was incredibly tender. I don't know exactly what sauce or gravy they use, but it was rich and delicious and really brought the whole dish together. We also ordered the fondue, which tasted great, but the tea light candle underneath wasn't quite hot enough to keep the cheese smooth. It started to cool and curdle pretty quickly, so a stronger heat source would definitely help. I did mention to the waitress that it was my wife's birthday. It doesn't seem like they do anything special for birthdays, which I also noticed at another table celebrating nearby. I'm not expecting a big dessert or anything fancy, but even something small--like a scoop of ice cream or a simple "happy birthday" plate--would be a nice touch. Still, this didn't take away from the overall experience. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, and they have a really cute outdoor seating area that I can imagine being perfect in the summer. Our waitress was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu and her recommendations. Overall, the food, service, and ambiance were all great. We really enjoyed our night and will definitely be coming back.

If I lived in the area, I would eat at Farmhaus at least once a week. It oozes character and charm and the food is fantastic!! I didn't have the time or appetite for a large meal, so I opted for a starter, salad, side dish and an alcohol free beer. The Garlic prawns were hot, garlicky and delicious! The Roasted Turnips were cooked to perfection and a wonderful seasonal dish. The Little Gem Cesar was unique, light and flavorful that I could have eaten another one. The chef knocked everything out of the park. I highly recommend eating here if you're in the area. Locals are lucky to have such a gem of a restaurant!

Worthy of your time and frequency. Amazing food. Caring staff. Wonderful ambiance. One of the steams very best.

Met up with some other Mama friends for a birthday brunch and I absolutely loved my first time visit to Farmhaus! I love the outdoor patio seating as it's shaded, with comfy seats surrounded by beautiful plants. The ambiance feels cozy and relaxing, like you're in someone's backyard of their house. Our server was friendly and provided great recs on food. I loved the outdoor energy and the food was delicious, so good I would go back for a second visit.

This restaurant is so cute! We sat outside on their adorable patio, sitting right by the fountain. The ambiance is very posh yet relaxed. Our server was very attentive and friendly. My friend ordered wine and said they have a good wine selection. We started with the artichoke dip that came with perfectly crispy crostini. This was the best artichoke dip I had ever had! They did such a good job elevating and perfecting a dish that is normally so basic and boring. I could bathe in this stuff! My friend ordered the salmon which was prepared in a beef Wellington style, wrapped in spinach and a pasty dough, sitting on creamed corn with fresh baby tomatoes. She said it was extremely delicious! I ordered the summer risotto and it was perfectly seasoned, with ribbons of summer squash and chunks of zucchini mixed in. There was cheese and a light drizzle of balsamic on top. It was so heavenly! I highly recommend this restaurant. What's fun place with delicious food.

Such a cozy place. The artichoke spread was outstanding, the endive salad perfectly balanced, and the chicken with mashed potatoes pure comfort food. Paired beautifully with their Pinot. This is a place to visit if you're a couple looking to slow down, talk, and enjoy a quiet meal, far from the buzz and chaos of the neighboring spots. What a beautiful evening!

This place is so cute! It was a beautiful day so no one sat inside. It is beautifully decorated inside though! The service was prompt and our server was so polite and helpful. The food was pretty good. However if you order anything with salmon, I highly recommend you request a side of chimichurri sauce to drizzle on top. The salmon has a very fishy taste/smell but smoked - not horrible tasting just not my cup of tea. I feel the chimichurri would help the flavor. Now the garlic prawns - yum! I would say they are more like shrimp than prawns, but they came with two small pieces of toast drenched in the chimichurri sauce- yummmmmmm!! The only thing I would say is add a few more pieces of bread on the side. Last we enjoyed the endive salad. You must get this!!! What a delicious flavor bomb! Blue cheese with pork belly and a vinaigrette dressing?!!! get this and some $8 beers.. we'll be back.

The salmon en croute. That's why I'm giving this place 5 stars. It's literally THAT good. We also got the fondue, endive salad, Parmesan polenta, and my husband got the chicken parpadelle. Everything was 10/10 except the parpadelle which my husband thought could be creamier but still really enjoyed it. The best date night spot!

Garlic shrimp was delicious with crostini, $17. 3-22-2025

Since Yelp is being dumb again and will delete the uber helpful tips soon, there is additional parking in back. Squeeze between the fence and boulder and you could probably park a horse trailer back there but nominal shade. Room for at least 10 cars in back. Food was great - loved the flavor profile of finglering potatoes and garlic shrimp. Combined made a perfectly filling delicious post-run dinner $31. They have different menus for lunch and dinner. Patio in back seats plenty and they turned on the heater and the fountain. I really liked the ambiance outside and would enjoy it for y kind of gathering but especially a date. One single room restroom was good except they need a double hook on the door for coats and purses. Service was nice. She knew the menu well and the portions and weights without my asking. Unfortunately, she assumed it was okay to grope my dog without asking. She did that a lot. She also didn't seem to be a genuine dog lover and my dog didn't bond with her. And my dog bonds easily. It was clearly a tactic to try to get a good tip but that's offensive and disingenuous. She even did that by coming up from behind, not announcing herself then departing after a couple of minutes. It startled me. I'm eating dinner. I don't want you coming over and groping my dog. It made me very uncomfortable. I felt like I was obligated to allow her to fondle my dog. This is the problem with being HSP, you don't want to upset anyone and you feel obligated to please every person. However, I need to remind myself that she is my dog. I do not owe anyone the privilege of touching her. Would you grope someone's baby without consent? No, you would not. It's no different with someone's dog. It is not yours, do not touch.

    Ask the Community - Farmhaus

Does Farmhaus still have a happy hour and if so, what days and times is it?

    Are there any vegan options?

Not very many options. They'll make it without the meat. At the end its overpriced.

Has anyone had takeout from Farmhaus? If so, what dishes have you ordered that worked well as takeout? Any that were NOT great as takeout? Thanks!

Does anyone know how to contact them? Their voicemail boxes are full, and they didn't return my email. Trying to find out about a reservation for a party of 7...

    Do they serve breakfast?

    Nope

    Whats the dinner menu like?

They have beautiful steak and beef choices, chicken, pasta, seafood (I'm sure depending on the season). You can't go wrong with whatever they offer.

Today I had turkey, pepper jack, avocado on sourdough ... Absolutely fantastic... The bread was just out of the oven, which made it a even better. It was also so well-made it looked like the sandwich could've been in a food ad. Also, every time I've been in here, the owner has been working the register and is just the nicest guy, extremely appreciative for the business. Every time it hasn't been too crowded, so if you live nearby and you like the sandwiches, be sure to get in and support this local business. He does a really nice job. While I was there, young guy came in asking if they were hiring... The owner was exceptionally nice with him. I like to root for and support businesses like this - nice people that own businesses that put a lot of effort into it to be sure that their customers get a great experience, and in this case a great sandwich. I'll probably make the trip more often to eat here.

The staff here is odd, last time, they forgot my tomatoes and when I asked them if I could have some they said I asked for no tomatoes (not true, but my husband did, his correctly did not have tomatoes), I found it weird they felt the need to tell me I asked for no tomatoes, which was not even true. But also why try to give a person a hard time about something that is standard on a sandwich? Also they refused to give us more than one stamp on our sandwich reward card saying it's one stamp per order, while the card clearly states "buy 9 SANDWICHES get the 10th one free". I said "your card says buy nine sandwiches and get the 10th free not anything about 9 orders" and she said "well that's just the way it is per our owner". So, let me get this straight... a person could come in here and get 9 solo sandwiches over time and get their 10th one for free, but if someone buys their family of 4 sandwiches, they don't get a free sandwich until they have ordered 9 times, potentially meaning 35 sandwiches to get a free sandwich? Or what, you want them to place each sandwich order separately so they can get a stamp for each single sandwich? Would that be better? What sense does that make? You are penalizing the people who spend more money per order and buy more sandwiches overall! The cards are printed clearly wrong if that's really the way it works, but honestly I think they are just being cheap. Sorry for the rant, but I think it shows the staff there wants to die on the stupidest hill of not having customers in mind. "No tomatoes for you! No stamps for you!" Don't think we will be back.

As I watched the employees because again I waited for what seemed like an eternity for a black iced tea that was supposed to be infused with rose petals. The most basic tasting tea I've ever had. Disappointed to say the least. 2 of the 3 employees working just seemed to do nothing but walk in circles while the 3rd seemed to be doing the most. I will say that it seems like a spot to work on one's laptop and several people were just enjoying themselves having conversations. The place is very pretty. This takes me to their Folsom location which opened its doors back in late-2021. Situated in a decent sized outdoor strip mall with a mix of boutiques and retail business, this Huong Lan is located directly off of East Bidwell St and adjacent to Wales Dr. Parking is fairly easy to find on any given day and they have very reasonable hours of operation being open weekdays from 10am-9pm and weekends from 10am-8pm. Since I live in the suburbs, this location is actually easier for me and is very convenient for those that live in Folsom, El Dorado Hills, Orangevale, Citrus Heights, Fair Oaks, and other neighboring communities. One really unique thing about this location is that they have a drive-thru for those that don't wish to exit their vehicles. However, if you're not in a rush, I do recommend dining inside as the interior dining area is quite open, inviting, and spacious. And one really positive thing about this location is that they are not nearly as busy as their other locations. More often than not, I am waiting in line (sometimes up to 30 minutes) just to place an order at the South Sacramento location. I also noticed how much of a variety this location offers including 15 different Bánh Mì variations, Phở, noodle soups, Vermicelli bows, rice plates, and a nice assortment of appetizers. They also carry several types of pearl teas, milk teas, and boba drinks. At this location, I literally entered the restaurant, walked up to the front counter, and placed my order. I ended up coming here during the afternoon on Saturday 5/30/2026 at around 2:00pm. My Bánh Mì sandwich of choice was their B7 "Grilled Pork" aka "Bánh Mì Thịt Nướng" and was priced at $9.25 (after tax). After making my payment, I sat down and within 5 minutes, my sandwich was brought out to me. I am going to be honest with everything, the bread was soft while the veggies (cilantro, cucumber, pickled carrots, and daikon) were all laid out very proportionally. But what this Bánh Mì was seriously lacking was the grilled pork! I love a good Bánh Mì sandwich but just ONE strip of pork? C'mon guys, I've been to your other locations and they have been very generous with the proteins. However, everything tasted great and I will still give this place an above average rating based on the service, location, ambiance, quality/freshness of food, and overall experience. I also wanted to add that the inside was very clean and sanitary while the public restroom was spotless. When you factor in a very spacious interior with a convenient drive-thru at the exterior and a pleasant dining experience in a quiet part of town, I am giving the Folsom "Huong Lan" location a respectable and above average four stars.
