We'll drive an hour for it over anything else, and that should tell you everything. The sandwiches are just done right. Fresh bread, quality ingredients, and they don't hold back. Everything is stacked the way it should be and you can taste the difference right away. The atmosphere is what makes it even better. Laid back, beach style, easy going, but still put together. It's a place you actually enjoy sitting in, not just grabbing food and leaving. And the service has always been amazing. Friendly, consistent, and they make you feel welcome every time. Ordered Reuben Sandwich. We had not been to a Beach Hut in a number of years. We worked on Douglas Blvd and used to go there often. Negatives: Traditional Reuben is served on Rye. Rye was not even available. The meat did not even get to the edge of the bread. The amount of meat is 1/2 of what they used to include. There was no pickle slice on the side. The bill for a 6 inch regular with a 10% tip was $18.71 No table delivery they did not bring it out to you. You bussed your own table. In short, overpriced, with tasteless meat, Thousand Island dressing which was watery and NO RYE bread was available. A deli sandwich at Raleys or Safeway is FAR superior. We will not go there again, sad how it has declined. Atmosphere was fun but it does not make up for poor overpriced food. read more

But that was the after the initial shock at the price of their food. I husband got a pastrami sandwich and it came on a regular type of toast..for15.00!! . I got a hot dog and it came on, a massive roll which I gave to him. $15 for a sandwich. Got to have a lot more to it. I think the cost is all in the name of beach hut deli but they did their best. Let's be honest, $25 will get a 12 oz sirloin entree and a stem of cabernet at Cattlemens. I always say "no mayo" or the thing will be swimming in it on the plate, apparently others have the same comments. Unfortunately this place is sort of the typical woke restaurant that doubles the menu price because of the zip code. That said, it was here about 20 years ago when I bought my house and somehow they have survived. Despite being a 1/2 mile away, I've probably been there less than a dozen times. I love this particular location because of their patio area which is basically the size of a two car garage, includes the signature surfboard tables and surfboard chairs, a mix of high tops and low tops and a cool fire pit in the middle. It's dog friendly and their food is excellent! I always recommend any sandwich with BBQ sauce only because their sauce is FIRE and I've never tasted anything like it. The shark bite (ham, cheddar, bacon, and cream cheese) is the best and the pig Kahuna (pulled pork, BBQ, cheddar cheese). I do insist on ordering the size small because they make their sandwiches hefty and wholesome (unless you're a guy and love food, then order the medium) This place is the perfect spot to hang out after the lake or before because of its location and beach vibes and reggae music playing in the background. read more
