I was meeting up a friend in Folsom, and this place was near her work and looked good from the reviews. I had dogs with me and they're very dog friendly. Their patio is pretty large, and since we were the only party in the patio, the staff allowed us to have them off leash. They also had a free dog menu for the doggos which they enjoyed. The staff were friendly and answered questions about the menu. I had their lobster roll and decided to sub my side for their potato salad, I asked if the potato salad was homemade and our server described the play by play on how they make it. I enjoyed the food and service.

Walking up to the restaurant there is an outside area where you can bring your dog. It was windy the day we were there so sat inside. We met some friends who were already there but you have to wait to be seated. We were given food menus and told the specials. When asking about the drinks they were rattled off quickly so ordered something I heard. We ordered the New England Clam Chowder and split a Rueben sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Our friends ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and the Gumbo. The chowder was not as creamy as we like it but there were plenty of clams and big pieces of potato. The meat in the sandwich was very fatty so had to pick through the meat. The sweet potato fries were great. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The salad was good and gumbo was good and spicy. When we left we noticed we smelled like the oil from the fryer. The staff were very nice and always checked with us.

Good food, especially the lobster roll. Staff was very friendly. Plenty of free parking. Interior has plenty of tables. We'll be back!

Sat outside on the patio. Service was very attentive. We got the last bowl of clam chowder, lots of clams, thin broth, chunky potatoes. It's a very large bowl and comes with oyster crackers. The onion rings are enormous, a little greasy but tasty with ranch dressing on the side.

This is definitely a hidden local gem in Folsom. It felt super mom-and-pop given their posted hours are approximate. They have prison-vibes given by the decor and menu, but it's not scary. They are located in the corner of a plaza with plenty of parking. They have plenty of tables with booths inside as well as bar seating. Outside they have a big patio with lots of seating there too! The names of the items on the menu are so creative. I got the Good Behavior $13.75, which was the black bean burger. It was so filling that I only ate half. I got a side of the clam chowder $4, which is made in house by the owner. She said it's eastern-style. It was not as creamy as I am used to. The Last Meal (lobster roll) is definitely a popular item. It is quite tasty.

    Absolutely delicious watermelon- cucumber salad

I'd have to say that I'm giving 5 stars because of the overall quality of customer service and the quality of food. I was reading some of the horrible reviews, and I think this is a family owned restaurant, and that one of the older ladies there, not the owner, has a developmental disability. It doesn't necessarily mean she's rude, that's her demeanor due to her disability. I've worked with young children, teenagers, as well as young adults to see the signs. Aside from that, owner/host reminds me of an auntie that's cooking for you at home. The name of the restaurant is awesome! It's very catchy! The decor may not be for everyone, but it's not about that, it's about what you're eating! The place is cool and they have lots of memorabilia that makes them or shows their personality, and frankly, I think it's cool! Ample parking, outdoor seating, with umbrella coverage, small mom n pop diner. Restrooms clean- and tables and area are clean as well. The sweet fries are so good with a distinctive BBQ, sweet flavor, and all their different dipping sauces are delicious. I was dipping them into all. I ordered the bean patty burger and my partner the double burger and chicken strips. The bean burger was so good. I loved adding the sauces inside. I also ordered the special watermelon and cucumber salad. Let me tell you- that is one interesting concoction. My taste buds were loving it, super refreshing on a hot day. The clam chowder was ok, I think it could use a little more umphh.. as in flavor, aside from that- I'd love to come back and try more. I thought it was very sweet, while waiting for our food, table next to us were celebrating a b day, and they brought out a slice of cake with a candle. Very cute.

We've been here a couple of times and it was decent enough for a revisit. However, most recent visits my wife got food poisoned from clam chowder and noticed that they charge for Togo box based on percentage!! Wild!!! Imagine if you order $1000 worth of food, even if it's 1 item, your box cost will be $100 not coming back sorry

Get this... lobstah roll! Worth the hype.

That Dam Place is a local Folsom eatery. It is a simple sit down restaurant that serves up tasty classic American pub type food with an upscale flavor profile. It is a no frills eatery with a down to earth hardworking staff and chef. The local lore of their lobstah' roll drew me in. The food The review is a tad late. I dropped on in several times during the summer. I had the lobstah' roll. $25. On the menu it is called The Last Meal. The Dam Place entrees have a jail house theme name. Anyways the roll is fantastic. One of the best ever lobster rolls I have eaten. It is head and shoulder better than the Shark Tank food truck biz. The lobster is from Maine. The roll had chunky sized substantial pieces of fresh lobster meat. It was so darn flavorful. The meat is tossed in lemon, tarragon, and mayo and served on a grilled split roll. Mmm. Plus not only was it delicious, it was gorgeous looking as well. My other favorite item is not a regular menu item. It is a the pepper steak sandwich. I do not fully remember the menu name, I think it is called Gino's Gambino sandwich. I initially called it a cheesesteak and the waitress promptly corrected me. She stated that in Boston (where she is from) it is called a pepper steak, not a cheesesteak. Luv her Boston spirit, tough and direct but kind. The pepper steak meat was thinly shaved and juicy. It was good quality beef. Tender, well seasoned meat. During the summer on certain days, the local classic car club would display their cars in the parking lot. So that was an extra special treat on those days... dinner and a show.

Been wanting to try this place out for a while. Their lobster roll did not disappoint & is absolutely amazing! I haven't had a lobster roll this good since Kauai over 10 years ago! Hubby thoroughly enjoyed his mac burger. Friendly & fast service & great food. We look forward to coming back soon!

We found this little gem on Yelp. We ordered the clam chowder bowl and the The Last Meal - Classic Lobstah Roll and upgraded to the Misdemeanor Sweetie Fries. We came by after lunch but before dinner. It was fairly empty. Service was good, servers were nice. Ambience is like ocean theme diner.

    The Bob Dole
    Chuck M.

This place is a gem. It was a bit hard to find but well worth the hunt!!! The food was off the chain. I had the Bob Dole. It was a grilled 6oz burger, made of brisket and short rib, all of their burger are, mayo, lettuce, tomato and 2 Korean BBQ glazed pineapple slices on a brioche bun. The sauce was sweet, tangy, with a little kick of heat. My choice of side was the potato salad. It was homemade with a perfect creamy dill taste. The service was awesome!!! The owners waited on our group and they were super friendly and inviting. The decor was interesting but do not come for the decor come for the food. It is well worth it!!!

We were in the area for wine-tasting and we were craving fish & chips. Yelp led us to "that dam place!" What a creative name. Upon arrival, they seemed to have a prison theme to it, which didn't quite match the name of the restaurant, but some of the dishes had a prison-themed name. The restaurant is an open environment with quite a few tabletops. There weren't a lot of customers when we arrived for an early dinner, so we got to choose our table. They're located in a shopping center way in the corner. Service was friendly and efficient. Since we came there for fish & chips, that's what we both got! It came with 2 beer battered cod served w/ crispy fries, tarter sauce & lemon for $19.75. Hubby upgraded his plate to onion rings for $2 more. It was a bit pricey, but when our order arrived we were pleased to find 2 large pieces of cod! The fish was moist and tasty, and the batter had the perfect crispy texture. A squeeze of lemon on top added to the flavor. I had ordered an oatmeal stout and it went well with the fish & chips. This restaurant seems to be known for their lobster rolls, so I may order that the next time I'm in the area. Definitely worth stopping by for some good eats!

Mmmm can you say Lobsta Pie. Great food great people. It is like hangin with old friends every time we go. Don't miss out get down there today. Oh and add an egg to that burger all you have to do is ask

I'm still thinking about this burger.... Dre's BBQ Backyard…read moreBurger 10/10!!! Damn, it was pretty fire. I got the bacon on the side for my doggie because I don't eat pork, but it comes with tomato, fried onion straws, lettuce, and pickle. You have the choice between fries, tater tots, onion rings or a salad. Not pictured- the amazing seared ahi tuna salad 10/10 ask for a side of extra dressing. The portion is huge and price is totally worth it as they give you a healthy portion of ahi tuna. I mean this place does not disappoint with the sides or carb options for you burgers. I overheard someone next to me say how amazing the onion rings are and how they often fill themselves up too much on them before their regular meal. I chose sweet potato fries because this is always a better choice. I appreciate the sea salt grinder at the table along with having ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce all tables and ready for me. I really think it's a little annoying when restaurants don't have condiments or salt & pepper shakers out at the table and you have to bother the waiter with yet another request. This burger was cheesy and had all the necessary toppings plus really bomb bbq sauce on it. I added a little sea salt to the sweet potato fries and they tasted perfect. They have new and rotating beers and ciders and so I tried the apricot which was really good- nice that they let you taste before ordering as well. Service was great, everyone was nice and friendly and smiled, and I love the boots, jeans, and western feel of the place. As a dog lover I'm obsessed with alll the doggy pictures there. It made me smile and feel right at home. Can't wait to return when I'm in the area! Thanks for delicious food and great service!

We decided to try friends. When we walked in, it was completely empty. One table inside had two people seated and one table outside had two people there. We sat on patio, it is quiet and nice to feel like you are in the woods with trees and foliage all around.. Nice and peaceful. The tables looked like the "old" Benihana type of tables with the grill pan in the middle. They looked dirty but it I think they are just dated. Not a problem for us as we tend to like "hole in the wall" type places and that is the vibe this place gives. Our waitress was nice just seemed shy. Music genre was oldies. We ordered a jalapeño burger and the grilled chicken club sandwich. The jalapeño burger was supposed to be 1/2 lb Angus beef. It did have good flavor and cooked right, but it was a very small burger. Hubby felt that it couldn't be 1/2lb. For the price it was just too small. $18. The grilled chicken avacado club sandwich had one slice of bacon on it, not a deal breaker but the chicken wasn't grilled. Not sure how it was cooked, but not on a grill. It had a lot of seasoning on it and yet the sandwich was underwhelming. The produce seemed like it was yesterday's produce. The fries were also just ok. Didn't seem like there was any salt. They did sprinkle some chopped cilantro on top which looked nice. Overall we did enjoy the patio and peacefulness of our lunch there, and we do hope to see some improvements in quality and maybe better portion sizes for the cost. We will give it a shot another time, maybe dinner time when they are a little busier.

If it wasn't for this "mission," there's a good chance I wouldn't have wandered in. I LOVE Sutter Street, but honestly I don't live nearby and don't have many reasons to come here. That said, I'm thankful for the mission and glad I dropped by. It's a super cute place and the bartender had a nice relaxed chill vibe to her. This is where I'd normally drop her name and give her kudos - but I didn't get her name. I thought her name would be on the receipt, but it wasn't! I assume her name isn't "Shift Night N" anyway, which would be weird - but that's what is listed for "server". Anyway... the burger... I liked it. I liked it a lot. I was not asked how I wanted it cooked (not expected or demanded by me) - but an observation that I toss in for comparison purposes. It was cooked to a solid medium, which is fine with me. Caramelized onions were standard - nice - but the tomato and lettuce were listed as 'optional' - and the bartender (Shift Night N) asked me if I wanted them. I opted in. The bun was above average - definitely a notch above the typical mass-produced buns often used elsewhere. I opted for sweet potato fries. They had good flavor. Personal preference-wise... I would have liked them to be cooked a smidge more. If/when I come back, I'll probably ask them to be crispy-er. Overall, thumbs up! I wouldn't hesitate to come back and try other things on the menu. #burgers

I recently had a Yelp event in the area and we decided to pregame at a happy hour in the area…read more After looking around a bit online for a spot,we chose the House of Mules on Folsom Blvd. This spot is not located too far off highway 50 and shares a lot with many businesses,so plenty of parking spots to be had. The happy hour at this spot is pretty great with all draft beers priced at $5-While also having Jameson-Tito's and Cazadores priced also at $5 There are many discounted foods available during happy hour, prices anywhere from $5 to $12. These foods range from pretzels to BBQ meatballs, Fish tacos and pizza. We tried the BBQ meatballs ($6.00) and they were extremely tasty. We also tried some beer from Urban Roots and a few Jameson shots-they both hit the spot. The service at this bar was great, the waitress was super friendly and checked on us multiple times. This place is a typical sports bar scene, with TVs in every direction and many sports to choose from for your viewing pleasure. The waitress told us that on weekends they do show UFC events live, which is always an added bonus. Overall I think this is a stellar sports bar and a great addition to the Folsom area providing an incredible spot to hangout with friends and root for whatever team makes you happy. PS-This bar also features "All-Day" Happy Hour on Sundays-so I can just imagine how incredible that must be on football Sundays in the fall-See Ya Soon.

Meatballs were fresh, juicy and flavorful. Ipa was cold, tasty and love the Happy hour value. Service was quick, friendly and on point. As for the atmosphere, plenty of seating, all with a good view of the many TV's showing various Sporting Events. I will be back. !

First - A word of warning. You WILL be waiting to get in, period. They open at 11, I got there…read morearound 12:45 (first time) and got in the door around 90 min later and another probably 20 min inside. While outside, we kept getting updates from the staff as to what was GONE. First it was the beef ribs and cornbread, and it got worse from there. But luckily for me :) What I was wanting was still there by the time I reached the cutting board. Brisket, pulled pork and house made sausage (what was left) some baked beans and a slice of cheesecake. I have a simple guide on bbq. Does the meat taste good with NOTHING added to it. No sauce, nothing dumped on it. I want to taste what the owner wanted me to taste without dousing it with sauce. I was NOT disappointed. The Brisket, falls apart with the slightest tug, the pulled pork, You don't need anything added, moist without greasy. The regular sausage (they have spicy as well) was a perfect level of heat for me. And the sauce was a nice touch - not the cover. While enjoying my meal back at the house - My BBQ inspector was hoping for a piece.. Not happening. Kudos to the staff for handling what I'm sure is a non-stop flow of customers while they slowly run out of items. Keep that in mind when showing up and waiting. Get there late, well.... They are only open for 3 days a week and only 4 hours a day at that. Will HAPPILY return, well done folks.. I made sure to get enough to supply my lunches for the next few days. Make that wait worth while.

Checked out for first time as early fathers day lunch Saturday at 11. Was shocked by the line…read morewrapping around the building before they opened! Once the door opened staff kept coming out and were very focused on keeping an opening in the line for the Taqueria next door. When we got inside there is a small eating area and I was surprised to see some were still available. Probably took about 20 min for us to get to the counter. All the staff were friendly. Ordered 2x 3 person trays (sub out turkey): brisket, ribs, bourbon pork belly, spicy sausage, cheesy grits, slaw, Mac & cheese, brunswick stew, collard greens, cornbread with blueberry, pecan pie bars, and chess cake. Brisket and ribs were spectacular: juicy, tender, perfectly smoked, and great flavor! Best sides to me were the cheesy grits, mac & cheese, collard greens, and blueberry cornbread. Wife really liked the chess cake.
