Overall the experience was okay/good but we probably would not return. The food tasted great, but the ambiance just wasn't there. Pros: decently quick service. Not loud. Clean (minus the clutter on the bar top) . Some local beers and ciders on tap. Outside seating area was spacious. Fries had a great seasoning. Chicken strips were big. The owners are super nice and friendly. They have dinner tables and regular tables to eat at. The ambiance feels very homey and relaxing like a cafe/dinner. We ordered crawfish hush puppies, the lobster roll and the burger. The don't skimp on the lobster rolls. The roll itself is not as buttery like most places I have tried before. The lobster was really fresh. I happened to bite in to the lobster shells twice. The lobster is cold. The burger came with bacon, tomato, lettuce and for the side we chose onion rings. The burger was so juicy. One we took the first bite the juice of the patty was dripping. The patter is made with waygu and brisket. The onion rings were delicious and crunchy. The crawfish hush puppies were also delicious. The house made sauce was quite unique but I personally not a fan of horseradish. So I didn't like the sauce itself. I was meeting up a friend in Folsom, and this place was near her work and looked good from the reviews. I had dogs with me and they're very dog friendly. Their patio is pretty large, and since we were the only party in the patio, the staff allowed us to have them off leash. They also had a free dog menu for the doggos which they enjoyed. The staff were friendly and answered questions about the menu. I had their lobster roll and decided to sub my side for their potato salad, I asked if the potato salad was homemade and our server described the play by play on how they make it. Walking up to the restaurant there is an outside area where you can bring your dog. It was windy the day we were there so sat inside. We met some friends who were already there but you have to wait to be seated. We were given food menus and told the specials. When asking about the drinks they were rattled off quickly so ordered something I heard. We ordered the New England Clam Chowder and split a Rueben sandwich with Sweet Potato Fries. Our friends ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad and the Gumbo. The chowder was not as creamy as we like it but there were plenty of clams and big pieces of potato. The meat in the sandwich was very fatty so had to pick through the meat. The sweet potato fries were great. Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The salad was good and gumbo was good and spicy. This is definitely a hidden local gem in Folsom. It felt super mom-and-pop given their posted hours are approximate. They have prison-vibes given by the decor and menu, but it's not scary. They are located in the corner of a plaza with plenty of parking. They have plenty of tables with booths inside as well as bar seating. Outside they have a big patio with lots of seating there too! The names of the items on the menu are so creative. I got the Good Behavior $13.75, which was the black bean burger. It was so filling that I only ate half. I got a side of the clam chowder $4, which is made in house by the owner. She said it's eastern-style. It was not as creamy as I am used to. The Last Meal (lobster roll) is definitely a popular item. I'd have to say that I'm giving 5 stars because of the overall quality of customer service and the quality of food. I was reading some of the horrible reviews, and I think this is a family owned restaurant, and that one of the older ladies there, not the owner, has a developmental disability. It doesn't necessarily mean she's rude, that's her demeanor due to her disability. I've worked with young children, teenagers, as well as young adults to see the signs. Aside from that, owner/host reminds me of an auntie that's cooking for you at home. The name of the restaurant is awesome! It's very catchy! The decor may not be for everyone, but it's not about that, it's about what you're eating! The place is cool and they have lots of memorabilia that makes them or shows their personality, and frankly, I think it's cool! Ample parking, outdoor seating, with umbrella coverage, small mom n pop diner. Restrooms clean- and tables and area are clean as well. The sweet fries are so good with a distinctive BBQ, sweet flavor, and all their different dipping sauces are delicious. I was dipping them into all. I ordered the bean patty burger and my partner the double burger and chicken strips. The bean burger was so good. I loved adding the sauces inside. I dropped on in several times during the summer. I had the lobstah' roll. $25. On the menu it is called The Last Meal. The Dam Place entrees have a jail house theme name. Anyways the roll is fantastic. One of the best ever lobster rolls I have eaten. It is head and shoulder better than the Shark Tank food truck biz. The lobster is from Maine. The roll had chunky sized substantial pieces of fresh lobster meat. It was so darn flavorful. The meat is tossed in lemon, tarragon, and mayo and served on a grilled split roll. Mmm. Plus not only was it delicious, it was gorgeous looking as well. My other favorite item is not a regular menu item. It is a the pepper steak sandwich. I do not fully remember the menu name, I think it is called Gino's Gambino sandwich. I initially called it a cheesesteak and the waitress promptly corrected me. She stated that in Boston (where she is from) it is called a pepper steak, not a cheesesteak. Luv her Boston spirit, tough and direct but kind. The pepper steak meat was thinly shaved and juicy. Found this little local gem on Yelp and because I love lobster so much, I had to come in to try the lobster roll. Cute little old school cafe decor, and staff that reward you like family. The lobster roll was 10/10, and the house made chips and ranch were simply amazing. We polished off the entire bowl of house chips! So crunchy and simply the best. It was a grilled 6oz burger, made of brisket and short rib, all of their burger are, mayo, lettuce, tomato and 2 Korean BBQ glazed pineapple slices on a brioche bun. The restaurant is an open environment with quite a few tabletops. There weren't a lot of customers when we arrived for an early dinner, so we got to choose our table. They're located in a shopping center way in the corner. Service was friendly and efficient. Since we came there for fish & chips, that's what we both got! It came with 2 beer battered cod served w/ crispy fries, tarter sauce & lemon for $19.75. Hubby upgraded his plate to onion rings for $2 more. It was a bit pricey, but when our order arrived we were pleased to find 2 large pieces of cod! The fish was moist and tasty, and the batter had the perfect crispy texture. A squeeze of lemon on top added to the flavor. I had ordered an oatmeal stout and it went well with the fish & chips. They have a pork appetizer called "Shaw-shanks", there is the fish dish called the "new fish on the block", and the spicy burger that they call "the electric chair." Among others. It was a very nice bright space. The lady that helped me was very friendly I decided to go simple and have the eggplant Parm sandwich. I had it with the side of the chicken tortilla soup. The sandwich was great. The sauce was good and did not sog-out. The bread. , the eggplant was not over breaded or soggy, and I liked the cheese. The chicken tortilla soup was great. Lots of tasty, tender chicken, plenty of tortilla chips, pickled onions and sour cream, and the broth was fantastic. Number one I have to say that the name of the restaurant is awesome. And, we understand now why it is called what it is called. We tried this place on a whim because we wanted something different, and the Lobster Roll caught our eye. As you can see by our pictures, we did not end up getting that because the other two items we ended up choosing sounded Delicious from their description. Definitely have to say that the food was unbelievably delicious and full of flavor. My pastrami sandwich was out of this world I have never had a cut like this I believe they said it was called the Sailor cut so gives you a little bit more of that marbling of the meat so that it absorbs the flavors really well of the seasoning. Also, the rye bread was phenomenal. You could taste the freshness of the Rye it had a beautiful crunch to it and was still soft in the inside, which lent itself to absorbing the juice from the meat. And I can not forget that it came with these perfectly homemade pickles that were slightly sweet salty and a little Tangy that brought the entire sandwich together. Also I did not realize the salad that I got as my side would come with homemade blue cheese dressing that was phenomenal and I really enjoyed the Little Flower carrots that were in the salad very very nice touch. The Bob Hope Burger was so well balanced between sweet and spicy, and the caramelized onion that came with it was perfection. My friend asked for the burger medium, and it was cooked exactly the way he wanted it. Unfortunately, he was unable to finish it because I gave him a piece of the pastrami sandwich because I told him he had to try it. The last thing I would like to speak about is the waitstaff and service. Everyone there was so kind and welcoming. About three different people came to check on our table to see how things were doing, and they gave us a little bit of the history around the restaurant that connected to the lobster sandwich. My husband and I went in for lunch today. We had our 2 mini schnauzers with us so when I saw that they were dog friendly on yelp it was a perfect time to check it out. We were greeted immediately by the owner and she showed us to the quaint patio area. She quickly brought our dogs water bowls which was so nice of her. They are definitely animal lovers there. everything on the menu looked great! I decided on the lobster roll and chowder and my husband got the Bob Dole burger. We never pass up a pretzel and cheese beer so we had that too. The pretzel was fresh and perfectly made! I could eat one those everyday! The lobster roll was amazing! Perfect in size and so much lobster meat packed into it. The flavor was perfection and the roll, omg, best roll I think I've ever had! They had a few house made chips on the plate too. Let me tell you, you'll want a whole basket! Their light and crisp and whatever seasoning they use on them was so good I'm still wanting more! My husband burger was huge, juicy and very flavorful. To top it all off she brought out 2 plates of Michelin star rated, dog treats that they make in house. My boys loved it! I mean the way he plated it made my heart sing! Some kinda sauce to pull all the ingredients together would have bumped this burger up to a 5. 4/5 -- Side of Felony Fries: pretty good fries. 4/5 - The Electric Chair: 6 oz burger with grilled onions, jalapeños, blue cheese, buffalo sauce, lettuce, and tomatoes on a brioche bun. I don't love blue cheese but this burger was good. It had more flavor than the Cal King. Though I didn't find it spicy at all. 4.5/5 -- Side salad: mixed greens, cucumbers, carrots, pecans and craisins. I wish the dressing was put on the side because they overdid it. 3.75/5 SERVICE: Friendly but a little on the slow side. FINAL THOUGHTS: We were a disappointed as we came for the lobster roll and Wanton Behavior but they were out on a Sunday by 12:30. But the food we did have was pretty good. My husband was craving a lobster roll and there really aren't too many choices for one in Sacramento. We have tried one before and the other two were closed, so we ended up here at the last option. I was happy to see it wasn't too crowded when we arrived shortly past noon. The burger itself was cooked nicely and bread was decent. The fries were nicely cooked with a decent portion, same for my husband's sweet potato fries. His lobster roll though - the main reason we came here - was less than satisfying. Bread seemed dry and the meat was very chopped up. It's a cold lobster roll too so don't come here if you're looking for a warm style. $22 was not worth the drive or the meal. Our food came out surprisingly quick though despite us hearing the chef call out to the servers when we arrived saying that food would take a while because they were backed up. They aren't the most professional here... I later heard him yell at someone else saying "I'm trying my best and going as fast as I can" ..yikes. I saw some other customers leave after coming in because it took so long for somebody to acknowledge them. I did not feel very welcome here initially and I hope it wasn't because of our race but whatever it was, no customer should feel like an outsider. This restaurant was situated in an unassuming Kohl's strip mall area that we have frequented a couple times in the past. Thanks to Yelp reviews it influenced my wife to want to visit here by the way. This place loves dog visitors! Our dog enjoyed a "pup plate" of carrots and peanut butter and then was given a popsicle of peanut butter and pureed banana! Our food was just as tasty. I am big into fries and theirs were hot, crispy and salty! Perfect! My daughter loved her "puppy bites" of pastry wrapped hot dogs and fries. Offers of frequent soda refills were most welcome. Such a hidden gem and glad my husband found this spot on the whim on the way to Tahoe! It was super hot outside, nearly 100F in the evening and we had a dog, so we sat outside in their patio. Very dog friendly patio! Upon entering we were greeted with such friendly service and hospitality from the workers. They kept checking up on us, welcomed our dog with some treats, gave us ton of water, asked us questions. We truly felt the hospitality and the welcome. We ordered the the dawg bites to get started, pastrami sandwich, and a burger. The names of the food and the restaurant is a play on the fact that this is close to a prison and a dam nearby. Quite creative! The dawg bites came out quickly, delicious hot dog bites wrapped in a flaky pastry. We then got our meal - pastrami with fries and burgers with onion rings. One bite into the pastrami sandwich and I was in heaven, seriously the best pastrami sandwich I've had in awhile! Meat was tender and flavorful. The onion rings were also delicious, I liked how taking a bite doesn't pull out the entire onion. My husband really enjoyed his burger and thought it was good. He killed the entire thing so quickly. We dined at That Dam Place and we're so impressed with the description of the foods and the explanation of the ingredients and how they were used. It was fabulous! They had seared scallops with succotash. Scallops were cooked perfectly and I found out that I actually like succotash. We had a wonderful starter that was spanakopita. It was a wonderful spinach and feta wrapped in phyllo dough. Their handmade potato chips were amazing with thin and crispy. You can actually see right through them. They also explained how do use a Japanese mandolin to cross cut them. We finished with a blueberry bread pudding. That's one of my wife's favorites and it was fantastic.
