    3 Piece Fish & chips
    Nichole M.

I stopped by Tug Boat because I was seriously craving some fish and chips, and this spot did not disappoint. I placed my order over the phone, and the person who helped me had great phone etiquette, friendly, clear, and quick. By the time I arrived, my food was ready, hot, and super fresh. I ordered the 3-piece fish & chips, and let me tell you... these pieces were not small. You definitely get your money's worth here. The portions were generous, the batter was crispy, and everything tasted like it came straight out of the fryer in the best way. The inside could use a little updating, but honestly the quality of the food and the solid customer service more than make up for it. If you're craving classic fish and chips, this place hits the spot!

Stopped by early in a whim at 10:55am. I was pleasantly surprised by my greeting, seating and order taking. The fish and prawns were very good ( I did add salt). And there was a nice onion ring on top- next time I probably ly will order onion rings! Hot and fresh - really a great value!

Tried this Tugboat & it's great! Service fast & friendly. Nice small place with great food. Give it a try!

This place delivers. I think they're Korean owned? The batter was light, fish was perfectly cooked, clam chowder was hot and full of clams. A bit sad that fish tacos are only offered on Tuesdays. Tacos should be for everyday occasions. Please make fish tacos a staple. I really enjoyed this.

Ordered the fish and prawns whuch came with fries and some beer battered onion rungs and zucchini. Called in my order and it was ready and being pacjed up as soon as I walked in the door 10 mins later. Everything is good! Seriously some of the best I've had in a long time. The beer batter is perfect, the seafood tastes fresh, and the fries are tasty. Excellent service at the front counter too. Got the sense the guy who help me is the owner. I'll def be back

This is my favorite spot in Folsom Historic Downtown. Started with a dozen oysters on the half shell ($52), served with cocktail sauce, mignonette, horseradish, and their house-made hot sauce. Honestly, probably the best oysters in town. Fresh, briny, and consistently good. We also had the honey walnut shrimp ($21). Beer-battered jumbo shrimp with ginger honey glaze, walnuts, and a touch of sriracha. Crispy, sweet with a little heat, and the walnuts added a nice crunch. We also ordered the CAB marinated tri tip ($27) with chimichurri and black garlic emulsion. Sliced medium rare, tender and beefy, and the chimichurri gave it a bright, herby contrast. They do have sashimi as well. I have tried it in the past and the quality is outstanding, but it is slightly overpriced compared to what you would get at a proper Japanese restaurant. I do wish they offered a greater variety of sashimi though. The vibe here is classy but relaxed, perfect for a slow afternoon. Service was top notch, attentive without hovering. One of the best seafood places in town. I will definitely be back.

We were seated on the darker side of the restaurant, while the other side seemed a lot more lively and bright, but it wasn't a big deal. We really enjoyed most of the food! We ordered the ribeye, Dakota chicken, chicken wings, and a side of fries. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the Dakota chicken, but my husband really loved it. The ribeye was delicious, and the rice that came with it was really good as well. The complimentary salad was fresh and tasty, and the bread was nice and fluffy. The beans, however, were probably our least favorite, very bland and lacking flavor. Funny enough, the chicken wings were the highlight of the meal for both of us! They were cooked perfectly and had great flavor. Our server was also wonderful, very attentive, friendly, and quick to bring anything we needed. Service definitely made the experience even better. As far as pricing goes, I didn't think it was outrageous, especially since the portions are pretty large. The one thing that felt a little steep was adding the shrimp scampi. I believe it was around $13 for only about 5 shrimp, which seemed pretty pricey. Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come back if we lived closer!

I'm sorry, but at that price, I expect a proper large cube slowly melting into my drink--not something that looks like they scooped ice out of a snow cone machine. A $14 Old Fashioned deserves dignity. It deserves respect. It deserves one big, beautiful cube. Crushed ice? Disgraceful. The drink was basically an Old Fashioned on a budget wearing a $14 price tag.

We came by for a family lunch today right at opening after youngest promotion day. I'm sure it was strategically planned as he wanted to hit up Barnes and Nobles after for some books ;) I got myself a smart book worm kid I tell yah...must be my side of the family hahaha. Anyways, back to the review...we were the first diners to arrive. My oldest son is always down for Poke! Nolan ordered a large and it was 5 scoops of protein for $25.95 (fairly small scoops imo), with a base of his choice and he chose mix rice and mixed greens. I asked him what his thoughts were and he said it was nothing special and that it was kinda pricey for what he got. He also said he was confused when he was trying to pick the fish from the buffet space as it didn't match the signs in front of them so he had to order from the menu and watch the guys put it in his bowl. Not sure if they just weren't ready for us as we were the first diners of the day. My youngest ordered the Taco trio which consists of 1 Ahi Poke Taco, 1 Salmon Poke Taco and 1 Cooked Salmon Taco for $19.99. The entree came out looking pretty appetizing but we were disappointed that the taco shells were all stale. Not crunchy in anyway. My son ate most of the filling and left the shells. We ordered the SALMON CARPACCIO which was described as 7 pieces thinly sliced fresh salmon, microgreens, sesame seeds, japanese seven spice, yuzu ponzu for 18.50 to share. When this came out, my son was so surprised that it was so tiny as it was not enough to share so my little man had it all to himself. I couldn't decide what to order. I debated on the fish and chips but was told they didn't have batter so it was a no go special today. The said the poke nacho's was popular but I wasn't craving poke personally. So my partner and I ended up ordering (2) servings of Garlic Shrimp. When I asked how many shrimps came with the servings, the guy behind the counter didn't know. It came out with 7 shrimps and a tiny bit of garlic over a ton of rice. Flavor was good, I wanted more sauce and garlic to go with the rice we were given. This place doesn't skimp on rice in their bowls. All in all, portions to prices were a bit off for us. The guys behind the counters were nice. Place was clean.

Just before noon we were seated right away but it took several minutes before our server actually showed up. I noticed the ambiance was dark and hasn't changed AT ALL over the past 10-15 years. It is showing (and smelling) it's age and really needs a freshening up to a clean and modern take on Italian decor. Outdoor seating is available and the restaurant is in a well maintained shopping area near a grocery store. We loved seeing the fresh made bread coming out of the oven which is served with an oil/vinegar dip; however, the bread was doughy in the middle and became inedible. The Fettucini Alfredo for $25 was meh. The pasta was gummy and the sauce needed A LOT of salt, pepper and extra parmesan to amp up the flavor. The Penne with sausage was good with full flavored red sauce. And the pizza and other dishes that went by looked delicious but I based on this trip I am not sure we'll be back.

Appetizers always on point (tonight we got the calamari and onion rings). I have never had better calamari anywhere. The onion rings were very unique! Nothing like you would normally see. The breading was ultra flaky and thin, which really allowed the sweet onion to shine. Very decadent preparation. For an entree my wife and I both got the NY Strip. It's a generous cut of prime grade meat. Mine was medium rare while her's was medium. We both thought it was delicious and perfectly cooked. I subbed out the mashed potatoes for a full baked potato with all the toppings. So satisfying. Our kids got kid stuff (burger, Mac and cheese) and seemed to enjoy it. The kids mini burgers are super thick patties. Like what you would see on a half pound burger, just smaller diameter. That much beef to bread/cheese is not usually what a kid wants, but he did it at one of them and the fries. My 14yo daughter got the normal Mac and cheese and loved it (so did I, as I finished it.).
