    Prime Rib
    Brian H.

This place has been a staple in the Folsom/Natomas area for a long time. We have been several times but not for Prime Rib ever. That changed and we are Rudy fans for sure ,the portion was huge and the cook temp was perfect. Service was a little slow but it was the end of a Friday night so we don't blame them! We managed to only take home a small leftover piece but not much. Will definitely be back.

January 22, 2026 - Rancho Cordova, CA Hands down the best happy hour spot in Rancho Cordova. The bar area is comfortable and cozy. I ordered the filet mignon street tacos ($6) and a glass of house Chardonnay ($6) -- such a great deal. The tacos were flavorful and spicy (in a good way!), and the Chardonnay paired nicely. Service was friendly and quick. Quick edit--I forgot to mention dessert. My husband and I shared the Salted Caramel Pretzel Lava Cake. So good.

First times topping by this local gem. Been around since the 70's from what I'm told. The art and decor gives off coastal vibes. Great lighting and intimate setting made this perfect for a date night dinner. What wasn't impressive was the side salad with and bread rolls. I've been to other restaurants and steak houses that put a little more effort on their side salads but wasnt a deal breaker for us. I had the captains cut prime rib, which really stole the show. Very impressive nearly 2 inch thick cut of steak. I did find it just a bit dry but the dipping sauce saved it for me. My wife had the grilled salmon which she couldn't stop talking about. Great spot for a date night. If like to try other steaks at this location next time.

We have dined ar Rudy's many times but have never left a review. We celebrated a birthday tonight and, as usual, we enjoyed ourselves. We were greeted and seated within five minutes and a server was at our table within a couple more minutes. Our beverages were delivered quickly and the appetizers arived shortly after. I give a four star rather than five star review as one of the halibut dishes was overcooked. We will return certainly return .

Stopped in for lunch after a nimbus fish hatchery field trip. The parking lot was packed! Inside was quiet, but really quickly filled up. I think a reservation might be a smart move here. The decor is really cool, very old school nautical vibes. My 4yr old loved the fish and lobster tanks. I loved the ornate treasure tables! The hostess and our waiter were awesome, very attentive and friendly. We started with some fresh warm complimentary bread- really good! I ordered the lunch special- half seafood salad sammich and cup of clam chowder and hubby got a bowl of clam chowder. Hands down the best clam chowder in town, they even top it with some crumbled bacon! FIRE!! The seafood sandwich had shrimp, crab and lobster on a grilled garlic sourdough bread- INCREDIBLE! Glad I went with my gut and ordered it. Can't believe I've lived in Sac my whole life and only just now trying this place. SMH I will be back soon!

This place has been around for years, and it's never a disappointing experience. My husband booked a month out in observance of Valentine's Day, and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very attentive, and the place was beautfully decorated in observance of Valentine's Day. They had a special menu that included dessert of chocolate-covered strawberries, which we took home. I ordered the prime rib, and my husband devoured the steak and lobster. We also toasted to this special day with a mai tai and a glass of house wine. It's always a special occasion when we visit Rudy's, which has been around for over 40 years.

Stopped just by to pick up a bowl of clam chowder. It's one of my favorite starters at Rudy's. I had a late lunch so I just needed something light for dinner to take my evening medication. This time, the chowder was pretty salty. I didn't find much clams, but plenty of bacon, so it wasn't my best bowl of chowder tonight. I look forward to sticking to dinner, with a cup of chowder the next time I go to Rudy's Hideaway.

My husband & I dined for Valentines Day. The restaurant was decorated cute. We started with fresh warm bread & clam chowder. We split the Filet & lobster. We both got a baked potato & asparagus. Everything was perfect. They have yummy sweet Moscato too!we ended with chocolate covered strawberries. The service was great!!

We attended this restaurant for a retirement party. Service was great and they were able to accommodate our large group. I had the prime rib lunch special and calamari for appetizers. The food was delicious and the prime rib was cooked just right. This is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner.

The restaurant location is the middle of no where but don't let that full you. Upon walking in we were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. Our waiter greeted us and quickly got us drinks and their amazing sourdough bread. We ordered the lobsterzilla (specials menu), prime rib and a smaller lobster tail that came with a soup or salad, baked potatoes and asparagus. The soup and salads came out and were flavorful. The salad was a larger portion than you would expect. The dinner plates arrived and everything was seasoned well and tender. Our waiter Sergio was very attentive the entire night and made sure we had the opportunity to celebrate a birthday.

They have an amazing happy hour menu that goes until 10 Pm. The prime rib tacos were SO amazing, not spicy, so flavorful and the texture of the corn salsa added so much to the whole bite. The garlic fries were fantastic, loaded with chopped garlic (jarred kind), parsley and parm. We also tried the loaded potato skins, they were great but I was pretty full by the time they came so we left a wounded soldier. The tumbleweed onion straws were also fantastic! My friends ordered prime rib, kabobs and the filet mignon and were nice enough to share! The prime rib is served on a sizzling plate with au jus, and was fantastic! The filet was well seasoned and the kabobs were good, although I prefer a little more rare. The appetizer happy hour menu had $6 and $8 items, food and drinks. The howdy beer was $4 and was pretty decent! My friends loved the $6 raspberry lemon drops! Above all of this though, our server was amazing. She worked her butt off for us and really made our visit Amazing. I'm the worst and only caught that her name started with a J, and she'd been there for 20 years. However, while the service is friendly and the "all-inclusions" dinner format provides plenty of volume, the actual execution of the food fell significantly short of the mark. If you are just looking for a spot that can handle a crowd, this place gets the job done. The staff is efficient, and the atmosphere is consistently lively. But if you are coming for the meal itself, be prepared for disappointment. Eating out is expensive these days, and these price points, you expect basic culinary standards to be met. Unfortunately, the kitchen missed the mark on several fronts: The Burger: Uninspired and bone dry; despite ordering it otherwise. It arrived overcooked to a lackluster medium-well in the center. The Onion Rings: Disappointing -- they were heavy and soaked in oil rather than being served crisp. The Sides: The button mushrooms were a major letdown. Charging a premium for such a basic, flavorless side feels unreasonable. Cattlemens is a local staple for a reason, but it isn't a destination for quality. Between the greasy onion rings, dry meat and a high price tag, the meal just didn't offer good value. You can find far better quality elsewhere for what they are charging. It is fine if you are looking to feed a group in a pinch, but i will not be rushing back.

We came by for a family lunch today right at opening after youngest promotion day. I'm sure it was strategically planned as he wanted to hit up Barnes and Nobles after for some books ;) I got myself a smart book worm kid I tell yah...must be my side of the family hahaha. Anyways, back to the review...we were the first diners to arrive. My oldest son is always down for Poke! Nolan ordered a large and it was 5 scoops of protein for $25.95 (fairly small scoops imo), with a base of his choice and he chose mix rice and mixed greens. I asked him what his thoughts were and he said it was nothing special and that it was kinda pricey for what he got. He also said he was confused when he was trying to pick the fish from the buffet space as it didn't match the signs in front of them so he had to order from the menu and watch the guys put it in his bowl. Not sure if they just weren't ready for us as we were the first diners of the day. My youngest ordered the Taco trio which consists of 1 Ahi Poke Taco, 1 Salmon Poke Taco and 1 Cooked Salmon Taco for $19.99. The entree came out looking pretty appetizing but we were disappointed that the taco shells were all stale. Not crunchy in anyway. My son ate most of the filling and left the shells. We ordered the SALMON CARPACCIO which was described as 7 pieces thinly sliced fresh salmon, microgreens, sesame seeds, japanese seven spice, yuzu ponzu for 18.50 to share. When this came out, my son was so surprised that it was so tiny as it was not enough to share so my little man had it all to himself. I couldn't decide what to order. I debated on the fish and chips but was told they didn't have batter so it was a no go special today. The said the poke nacho's was popular but I wasn't craving poke personally. So my partner and I ended up ordering (2) servings of Garlic Shrimp. When I asked how many shrimps came with the servings, the guy behind the counter didn't know. It came out with 7 shrimps and a tiny bit of garlic over a ton of rice. Flavor was good, I wanted more sauce and garlic to go with the rice we were given. This place doesn't skimp on rice in their bowls. All in all, portions to prices were a bit off for us. The guys behind the counters were nice. Place was clean.

As a high-end restaurant, Sutter Street Steakhouse delivers when it comes to food quality and taste. I had the New York steak and it was cooked exactly to medium with a nice outer crust. The inside of the steak was uniformly pink with the beef being tender and juicy. It was a top notch New York steak. New York steak is my favorite cut and I've had my fair share of them, this one is certainly great. With the steak I chose to go with a baked potato and some asparagus. The baked potato was LOADED cheese, sour cream, and bacon. It was massive maintained a nice fluffy texture. The asparagus came in a pretty large bunch and had a surprising sweet balsamic drizzle that accompanied it. Since I'd consider this a more high end place, the prices do reflect that. Thankfully the portions are large and we had to take some it of home with us. As good as everything was, I did find the food a little on the heavier side. I ordered some horseradish sauce along with my steak and was thankful I did because without it I think everything may have been a bit too rich.
