House salad.

This place has been around for years, and it's never a disappointing experience. My husband booked a month out in observance of Valentine's Day, and we were seated immediately. Our waiter was very attentive, and the place was beautfully decorated in observance of Valentine's Day. They had a special menu that included dessert of chocolate-covered strawberries, which we took home. I ordered the prime rib, and my husband devoured the steak and lobster. We also toasted to this special day with a mai tai and a glass of house wine. It's always a special occasion when we visit Rudy's, which has been around for over 40 years.

Stopped in for lunch after a nimbus fish hatchery field trip. The parking lot was packed! Inside was quiet, but really quickly filled up. I think a reservation might be a smart move here. The decor is really cool, very old school nautical vibes. My 4yr old loved the fish and lobster tanks. I loved the ornate treasure tables! The hostess and our waiter were awesome, very attentive and friendly. We started with some fresh warm complimentary bread- really good! I ordered the lunch special- half seafood salad sammich and cup of clam chowder and hubby got a bowl of clam chowder. Hands down the best clam chowder in town, they even top it with some crumbled bacon! FIRE!! The seafood sandwich had shrimp, crab and lobster on a grilled garlic sourdough bread- INCREDIBLE! Glad I went with my gut and ordered it. Can't believe I've lived in Sac my whole life and only just now trying this place. SMH I will be back soon!

My husband & I dined for Valentines Day. The restaurant was decorated cute. We started with fresh warm bread & clam chowder. We split the Filet & lobster. We both got a baked potato & asparagus. Everything was perfect. They have yummy sweet Moscato too!we ended with chocolate covered strawberries. The service was great!!

Stopped just by to pick up a bowl of clam chowder. It's one of my favorite starters at Rudy's. I had a late lunch so I just needed something light for dinner to take my evening medication. This time, the chowder was pretty salty. I didn't find much clams, but plenty of bacon, so it wasn't my best bowl of chowder tonight. I look forward to sticking to dinner, with a cup of chowder the next time I go to Rudy's Hideaway.

We attended this restaurant for a retirement party. Service was great and they were able to accommodate our large group. I had the prime rib lunch special and calamari for appetizers. The food was delicious and the prime rib was cooked just right. This is a great spot to grab lunch or dinner.

The restaurant location is the middle of no where but don't let that full you. Upon walking in we were greeted by the hostess and seated right away. Our waiter greeted us and quickly got us drinks and their amazing sourdough bread. We ordered the lobsterzilla (specials menu), prime rib and a smaller lobster tail that came with a soup or salad, baked potatoes and asparagus. The soup and salads came out and were flavorful. The salad was a larger portion than you would expect. The dinner plates arrived and everything was seasoned well and tender. Our waiter Sergio was very attentive the entire night and made sure we had the opportunity to celebrate a birthday.

Since moving to Rancho Cordova a year ago I've always wanted to try this place. My bestie was visiting from Marina Del Ray so decided this night was the night to check out Rudy's Hideaway. They have a dinner for 2 special on Mondays. We sat at the bar. Steve was a great, attentive bartender. Loved the nautical ambience. Blue cheese dressing was delicious! Lemon drop was amazing. Loved the sugar rim. Our food was top notch. And the bread was soft with a crusty exterior. My bestie and I were really impressed. So happy we checked it out! We definitely will be back again!

Old school surf n turf! We asked for a booth and they gave us one (was also more private too) I got the halibut with salad, husband got the lobster ravs with salad.Entrees were so good! The salad had a tad too much Italian dressing so next time we'd get that in the side. We shared the special coconut pie, delicious! Our waitress was great definitely coming back

It's a our 4th time eating here. We live 95 miles away. So we make it a point to visit this wonderful place when we travel . The food is good but the working staff makes the place special. Amanda and Reese go out of their way to make my wife and friends special.with at least 19 years experience between them the service is by far the best. So godbless this place and their staff, love the Captain ‍P.S the food is way above average also Shelby was very caring in what I had to say

Ciopinno $46 great.
krista h.

Cioppino ($45) is amazing. Comes with king crab legs, scallops, shrimp. Also includes either soup or salad and garlic bread. Filet and lobster ($72) is fantastic! A surprisingly large lobster tail.

Anyway-- I got a glass of the house red wine for the happy hour special, it was good. And we got to squeak in an order of the Ahi Nachos, which I believe are only offered on Happy Hour, and OMG, they were SO good. We were still talking about them the next day. The "nachos" were like a fried wonton. And just all around, the entire dish was delicious! Spicy jalapeños, quality tuna. Go to this place, even JUST for these nachos. The spicy crab (or lobster, I can't remember) bisque, was also really good. I'd recommend it. Mildly spicy, not crazy. My coworker got the caesar salad, and was very underwhelmed with it. For my entree I got the Pesto Scallop pasta. The scallops were overcooked, and underwhelming, in size. But I acknowledge that could just be the season. Doesn't excuse the fact that they were overcooked. The pesto sauce was yummy! I give this place a solid 4 stars, and would definitely revisit next time I'm back in the area. Ahi Tuna Nachos get a 5 star, though, for sure. Thanks for hosting us!

They have an amazing happy hour menu that goes until 10 Pm. The prime rib tacos were SO amazing, not spicy, so flavorful and the texture of the corn salsa added so much to the whole bite. The garlic fries were fantastic, loaded with chopped garlic (jarred kind), parsley and parm. We also tried the loaded potato skins, they were great but I was pretty full by the time they came so we left a wounded soldier. The tumbleweed onion straws were also fantastic! My friends ordered prime rib, kabobs and the filet mignon and were nice enough to share! The prime rib is served on a sizzling plate with au jus, and was fantastic! The filet was well seasoned and the kabobs were good, although I prefer a little more rare. The appetizer happy hour menu had $6 and $8 items, food and drinks. The howdy beer was $4 and was pretty decent! My friends loved the $6 raspberry lemon drops! Above all of this though, our server was amazing. There's plenty of seating indoors with high chairs available if needed. Prices are very reasonable especially for the amount they give you. We opted for a 3 piece fish and chips, two extra fish, and a cup of clam chowder. The food came out relatively quick and piping hot. I was surprised with the quantity of fish they gave us and they even added a fried zucchini and onion, yum! The soup and fries were yummy but it was the fish that really stood out to me. The pieces were big and juicy with not too much batter. The batter was perfectly crispy on the outside. My husband, toddler, and I thoroughly enjoyed the meal. If you're craving classic fish and chips, this place hits the spot!

Then the first thing that caught my attention was the poke bowls starting at $22. It felt like an obscene number (and now, I assume that it is on par with this shopping center), but I was really wanting poke for lunch. The staff were friendly, but I was even more disappointed with how liberal they were with the rice and greens, but then throttled the fish servings with the cookie dough scooper. It was even more tough when I see the other working helping out their friend and giving an extra half scoop. After trying it, it definitely wasn't worth $24 for the medium, but it was quite tasty. While I would default to the 3 out of 5, I did appreciate the worker doing the sauces in a separate bowl with the veggies and non-marinted fish, while keeping the marinated fish in the bowl. I appreciate this intentionality, and would come back in a heartbeat if it was priced at even 16/18/20. But unless I really wanted poke again, I don't see myself paying that much again for it.

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!
