    HH Horseshoe Margarita ($6)
    Elena N.

Date: Tuesday, December 16th, 2025 Time: 7pm Party of: 2 Meal: Dinner & Happy Hour Specials HH Menu: 4pm to 10pm Monday to Fridays - Saloon Only *HH Horseshoe Margarita ($6) *Cowboy Steak ($44.99) - with Crab ($19.99) *HH Baby Pork Ribs ($10) *HH Loaded Potato Skins ($6) *HH Pendleton Sour ($6) *HH Glass Red ($6) *Apple Pie ($11.99) *HH Howdy Beer ($4) I've driven by a Cattlemens countless times in the past three plus decades. Always wondered how their steak was. The hubby suggested finally stopping by on our way back to the bay from Tahoe. We walked in without a reservation. I knew they did HH in the Saloon only so we walked in and grabbed a table there. You can still order from their regular menu while in the Saloon. Other than the steak and dessert, we ordered everything from the HH menu. It is a good deal, so why not take advantage?! Especially the drinks. The cocktails were on the weaker side, but the wine was a nice pour. The steak itself was fine. I like my meat rare and found this a lil over, but nothing too bad. The crab wasn't a full half crab, but still a decent amount for $20. Dessert wasn't anything special. Would probably skip next time. Glad I finally checked them out. Parking is pretty easy since they have a lot. But we did park in the back since there was a fair amount of cars when we arrived. Cleared out by the time we left. REVIEW #3940

Went to try today 2/4/26. Me and husband decided to go with Steak dinner for two! We have the Artichoke dip for appetizers. for entrees we choose New York steak and steak and shrimp scampi and for dessert we choose the fried apple pie. Also had the legendary margarita and wine for my husband. Also ordered calamari for appetizers. Margarita and wine is okay! Calamari- it's okay nothing special Artichoke dip-it's good. Served with hot artichoke cheese with colorful nacho chips. New York steak- we ask for medium well but came in well done!- not happy Steak and shrimp scampi- steak is well done as well but I can taste its flavor. Shrimp scampi- it's okay.my husband dip bread on the sauce. Me and husband likes the dessert with coffee Oh the salad is fresh is good. Service is great but place smells strange like old carpet. Good to try but will not come back.

Medium rare ended up being more rare unfortunately, sweet potato was delicious! Mushroom ravioli for the price was very little portion. Burger was standard, service was a 4 out of 5. Cool experience!

The cowboy steak (medium rare) is always 10/10 for me. The fried apple pie was good too. The service is always fast and friendly. I like the vibe inside and there is plenty of indoor seating.

First time visiting this restaurant and was greeted by super friendly hosts right away! We were celebrating a couple of birthdays, and our server was right there at our table, taking our drink and food orders. It was a Friday night, and the restaurant was busy. I was craving steak, so I ordered the 14 oz New York Strip. It was so juicy and delicious! I'll definitely be back to celebrate another event soon.

We were in the mood for a hearty delicious meal and we got one! The drinks were amazing. We ordered a fee at the bar before dinner and they were so good! I wish I could remember the name of them, but I can't. One was a blackberry or huckleberry drink, and one was the lemonade but not the Cowboy Lemonade. The food was filling and delicious. I love potato skins. They make a really good leftover breakfast or lunch too! Soo good! our server was super sweet, and I really appreciated that the hostess greeted us and said goodbye. There were a couple of people up at the host stand when we left and usually that means that you're not gonna get a goodbye but, she turned around and made eye contact and told us to have a good night! I don't know why that's so important but it just is

The server was so accommodating and cheerful. The ribeye steak, salad and baked were wonderful. The only complaint I have was that the ranch beans were dried out and not hot. The top layer was totally dried out like it had been sitting out for a while. Took one taste and left the rest.

Cattlemen's has a large bar and a great happy hour if I lived close by it would be a great spot for watching sports. We came for their Original Steak Dinner for 2 $80. It includes bread, salad, appetizer, 2 entrees, and a desert. While nothing was great everything was good. The 14oz ribeye is a nice steak and cooked perfectly. There is often a wait here so make reservations in advance.

Looks good from this view but it was very burnt

Had a terrible experience this afternoon at Cattlemans Rancho Cordova. The place was not busy at all since the Superbowl was going on at the time. My chopper ground sirloin steak that is suppose to be 1lbs was burnt up and charred on both sides when I ordered it medium. The Bloody Mary drink had only a piece of celery in it, suppose to have olives, Pepperoncini and hot sauce. The service was also terrible, the server acted like we were annoying him and ignored us most of the time. After all this we still left him a great tip but we will NOT be going back there anytime soon! I give it 2 stars because my spouses steak she said was good otherwise I would've given 1 star.

This is the second Cattlemens that I've been to in a week! A group of 5 of us went for a birthday dinner around 5:30pm last night and we were seated within 25 minutes or so. It was very packed as their dinner service and happy hour starts at 4pm during the week. My husband and I got the Steak Dinner Combo for 2 for $80 that included an appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert. I ordered the Rib Eye with Mixed Veggies. The Rib Eye was cooked well, but the veggies were actually very cold. I don't like sending food back so I powered through and ate them, but it definitely was a bummer. The salad and Artichoke Dip were spot on though, but the Brownie Sundae we ordered for dessert was not good. The brownie was hard and tasted old. My mom also said her Prime Rib was better at the other location. I think the Cattlemens in Dixon is better than this Rancho Cordova location. The entire meal was better in Dixon unfortunately. Our server Bailey was super sweet and attentive though, but I think we'll drive back out to Dixon next time!

She patiently explained the menu and answered all of our questions. We ordered across the menu: a ribeye, a filet, the salmon, and one of the daily specials, scallops. We also ordered the Brie and bacon jam appetizer and one of our party had a Caesar Salad. There were a couple of substitutions: extra spinach instead of mashed potatoes with the salmon and fingerling potatoes instead of the mashed potatoes with the ribeye. I ordered the Brussels sprouts as well. Everything was delicious and prepared exactly as ordered. The proteins were substantial, well worth the price. We tried two desserts, the crème brûlée and the banana cheesecake. They matched the quality of the entrees. Everyone remarked on how great the sourdough bread that was brought to the table was. As the ladies in our party said, you could make a meal out of the bread along with some cheese and wine. We were seated in one of the side rooms, which didn't seem to hinder the service at all. Our water glasses were promptly refilled. It was a great experience.

FOOD we started with the chilled prawn cocktail. the prawns were fantastic, and the cocktail sauce was divine. we jumped into a cup of lobster bisque; which was something i was looking forward to. unfortunately, the soup tasted like a very bland tomato fish soup. ugh. it lacked flavor and i don't think there was hardly any lobster in it. major bummer! we go the surf and turf (with lobster), the rib eye, and mushrooms and brussels to accompany the steaks. TONS of food, which was nice (especially for the price)! both steaks were ordered medium rare; the filet was cooked as ordered and the rib eye was on the medium/medium well side. however, the major bummer with the rib eye was the menu states well marbled but the steak gas VERY fatty when you're paying $62 for a USDA prime, "well-marbled" (per the menu's description) steak, the last thing i'd expect is to describe the steak as more fatty then marbled. the sides were great; the garlic mashed potatoes with the soy wasabi sauce were incredible! SERVICE our server started out very attentive and progressively we saw him less and less throughout the night; waiting for the check, needing water refills, etc. i get that everyone has busy tables and the F&B industry is having a tough time, but dang. at a place like this, i'd expect top notch service throughout the dining experience! AMBIANCE it's very nice inside. super cool bar when you first walk in. lots of spacious seating so you're not sitting on top of one another and modern decor. after having worked in F&B, i totally understand the industry; some nights people call out, larger parties consume the kitchen, etc. but for the price, nothing really seemed to blow us out of the water :( hopefully it was just a bad night that we went. it has a great reputation for a reason! hoping the next visit is a better experience!

I do have one suggestion. I completely understand and appreciate the elevated vibe they're going for--it's part of what makes the place special. That said, I think there may be a bit of a missed opportunity with the bocce ball courts. There are large signs saying kids can't play on them and must stay with adults, but honestly, I come here at least once a quarter and they're often not being used. Given the location and the number of families in the area, it could be interesting to consider adding a small playground in the back. I know that might sound unconventional for a place like this, but I've seen restaurants do this successfully in Europe. What's really missing around here is a place where parents can enjoy an incredible meal and drinks while their kids have a safe place to play nearby. Right now, the only places that come close are breweries. There are almost always families here when I visit, so just a thought! Either way, Shangri-La remains one of my favorite spots.

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.

The unique menu is a roadmap to the owner's life story, a Peruvian with an Italian grandfather and a passion for food and gatherings, trained in Spanish restaurants in the Bay Area. The service manager Christian was a real piece of work. He was extremely rude when I asked to get my burnt but somehow RAW steak sent back. I cut into my steak right when I got it and noticed the inside was completely raw and cold to the touch while the outside was pretty much charred. The waitress said she would take it back ASAP and was very nice and understanding about the situation. Not sure why, but the service manager named CHRISTIAN was called over. He asked what was wrong with it. I promptly showed him my disgusting, basically still mooing, couple of stitches and it's good to go back out to the field, steak that was supposed to be medium rare. He got extremely upset very quickly and said that according to their "standards", that was in fact medium rare. It absolutely was not. This steak had a a charred outside, cold inside, with a gray ring around the edges about 2mm from the exterior. Mind you, i've ordered a medium rare ribeye from TXRH every time i've been there and it has never looked like this. Medium rare steaks should be a darkish pink and slightly warm edge to edge. I explained to him that this was not in fact a medium rare steak and that it was obviously rushed work and that I would not be eating it. He continued to try and mansplain medium rare steaks to me and i was like yo can you just send it back please, keeping my composure while he was getting increasingly frustrated and was not taking me seriously. I explained to him why each part of the steak looked the way it did and how something can come off the grill burnt on the outside while still raw on the inside, the heat was obviously too high which is what caused the gross gray ring around the nearly purple insides. I explained to him that if they didn't have time to cook a steak properly, I would just order something else off the menu. He kept rolling his eyes and arguing with me over the rawness of my "steak" until he eventually gave in and just took it back. The waitress was extremely nice and made sure I liked the new steak and apologized for the previous steak. CHRISTIAN, the service manager did not come over to my table again or apologize, but he did give me nasty looks from all across the restaurant for the rest of the time I was there.

First, shout out to the server that noticed my fiancé's comfortability in the booth and asked if he wanted to be moved to a different table. We didn't catch his name but thank you for noticing my fiancé being a taller and larger guy. This was the first time anyone has asked if he was comfortable. Our server Alex was great! He was friendly and checked in on us often. I got the pappardelle w/red chile flakes and it was so good! Fresh made pasta is delicious and such a treat! My fiancé got the stromboli pizza. When we tried the bread with olive oil and balsamic, he knew he wanted the pizza. The pizza dough reminded him of his trip to Italy eating pizza every day, and he loved it. Tiramisu for my birthday is a must! It was delicious with enough coffee flavor and cream. We'll definitely be back to try the other dishes. All in all, a good spot for my birthday.

Fresh and naturally peppery. The shaved parm was just icing on the cake. Perfectly balanced! The Naughty Pasta with meatballs and ricotta cheese was just heavenly after a sectionals tennis match at Gold River. Pasta Al dente and chewy. Nicely balanced sauce and not too overly acidic. Meatballs were tasty and tender. Tiramisu was a nice sweet pick me up but I felt the custard filling was just whipped cream light. I would prefer a more richer flavor with mascapone. Friendly staff. Spacious seating. It gave that traditional low lighting ambiance with booths and heavy chairs.
