Ok when you think of pub food, you don't really think of good quality fresh food. LET ME TELL YOU. This place is not that! It was too good! I had the best bbq burger IN MY LIFE. We also ordered the garlic fries and they were 10/10. The garlic wasn't over zealous and they fries themselves were crunchy. While they had your typical pizza and burgers on the menu, I was surprised to see they also offered sushi. We had the pepperfin sashimi and we liked it! The sauce was nice and tart. The queen tangerine is my new fave beer, give it a try! All the servers were very attentive, we were asked by 4 different people if we had been helped yet, we ordered with one person, and closed out with another. I'll be back!

Sushi here is a solid 5/10 (granted it is a bar), but overall everything was cool. Comfortable, quick service, good drinks, nice atmosphere. I'd visit again. I heard the fries and burgers are pretty good.

Celebrating Father's Day at everyone favorite watering hole in Fair Oaks, CA (by Sacramento). Delicious food, sushi, pizzas, burger on ciabatta bread and low fat options.

    Yummy sushi and drink

Food is so yummy. I don't eat raw meat but they have excellent options for non-raw-meat eaters. So tasty!! Owner - Weiwei is super welcoming and hospitable.

Went here with my friends on a Monday night, we were greeted by friendly staff and seated promptly. Fair Oaks Brew Pub in Old Fair Oaks Village is an absolute gem. I had one of the best burgers I've had in a long time juicy, perfectly cooked, and packed with flavor. The orange tangerine beer was bright and refreshing, a perfect pairing, and the warm buttery pretzel with the various dipping sauces was pure comfort food done right. Add in the relaxed, welcoming vibe of Old Fair Oaks Village and friendly service, and this place is a must-visit whether you're local or just passing through. Im so lucky I live within walking distance of this brewery, will definitely be back

    100% Angus beef Big Burger

Amazing burger - juicy and flavorful 100% certified Angus beef! Fries were also delish! Very friendly atmosphere and the service was fantastic! They have a full bar with a great selection of beer and wine. Indoor seating is great and they have an awesome patio. I highly recommend this place!

Our book club met here last night! What a great spot. Owner was amazing! Food was delicious! Sushi, pizza, edamame, cocktails, pulled pork sandwich! All wonderful. Great vibe. Friendly staff. All of them were very attentive. Can't wait to go back!

Potstickers and pizza were very good and so was sitting out on the lovely patio with my friend from high school

Food and atmosphere are great. The manager, however, is very rude and has no customer focus. She needs to take course customer service.

I would have never thought a Japanese restaurant was here. The inside was another story! The inside is decorated with all kinds of Japanese pictures and decor. You definitely felt like you were in a Japanese restaurant. The menu was impressive! Everything had pictures which is so amazing! It was just easier having an idea of what to pick based on looking at the pictures. There were all kinds of sushi rolls, bento boxes, noodles, appetizers and plates. We decided to get the ramen, salmon katsu, and tempura bowl. Food came our really quick. Portions were good and everything we tasted wonderful. It definitely satisfied our craving. The tempura was crispy. The ramen broth was rich and noodles nice and chewy. The bento box came with gyoza, salad, tempura, oranges, miso soup and rice. Service was great. They were attentive, and friendly. Eating with our littles ones is never easy and we appreciated how patient they were with us. We loved the food and hope to come back and try their sushi next!

This is exactly what I had experienced when I paid a visit to "Akira Sushi" Located directly on Greenback Lane and adjacent to Auburn Blvd in Citrus Heights, this place opened its doors for business back in mid-2024. Since then, they have seen a very respectable amount of positive reviews. As I had previously mentioned, the exterior isn't much to look at as this is a fairly dated strip mall that hasn't received any updates in decades. And to those that remember, this is the same building that "Pho 54" occupied from 2013-2023. During my visit which was the afternoon of Sunday 8/3/2025 at around 5:15pm, I parked directly outside as there were no other cars here. Upon entry, there was one other customer finishing dinner. After being greeted and seated, I was given a menu complete with a cold glass of iced water. I will say that the interior of this place is quite impressive, cozy, and inviting. The distressed wooden tables paired up with the tan-colored walls and unique murals add an upscale look to the overall interior. On a packed evening, this place can comfortably seat around 50 guests. I will say that their menu is fully loaded with pure deliciousness. They offer a huge variety of traditional sushi rolls, custom rolls, Bento boxes, seafood tacos (available in tuna or salmon), Poke bowls, and even ramen for the colder days/evenings. And even a nice variety of beverages including soda, beer, wine, and sake. Since I was dining solo, I decided on the "Sunomomo Salad" which was a cucumber salad w/Ponzu sauce and Bonito flakes. My main dish was their "Napa Valley" roll which uses shrimp tempura, cucumbers, avocado, spicy aioli, unagi sauce, and topped with sesame seeds. My salad was brought out in less than 3 minutes while my sushi arrived just a few minutes later. I will say that everything was very fresh and delicious. The avocado had perfect consistency while the shrimp was made to perfection. In my humble opinion, this was an absolute gem of a roll. All in all, "Akira Sushi" is about as good as it gets for quality sushi in Citrus Heights. They have very respectable hours of operation being open 6 days a week; Tuesday through Sunday from 11:30am-2:30pm / 4:00-8:30pm with extended hours on Fri/Sat while being closed for business on Monday. Service was great as the young lady that waited on me was polite, courteous, and respectful. With a great atmosphere, delicious food, and reasonable prices, I am giving Akira Sushi a unanimous five-star rating.

The hostess greeted us with a question. "You ladies came to drink or to eat?" She asked. We came for both! We sat outside near the entrance way. It was a nice shaded corner and it gave some privacy from the plants that were decorated along the entry way. The menu was small and interesting. First hour is happy hour $2 off drinks and $10 off food. I'd say this place is perfect for drinks and apps. There isn't a big variety for entree's. But those appetizers were the show! Our Order: grilled riblets, garnish shrimp pieces, watermelon tomato salad beef sliders French fries and the blackened salmon. The ribs-10/10 fall off the bone seasoned well with some kind of green sauce at the bottom. The garlic shrimp- 10/10 in chili garlic oil with focaccia bread. Watermelon tomato salad- 10/10 feta cheese always takes the show! Beef sliders- 10/10 us just being greedy but so good. French fries- 9/10 decent portion! Blackened salmon- 8/10 compared to how flavorful the appetizer's were it made the salmon lack in taste. Something was missing but it was still good loved the coconut milk flavor in the jasmine rice! All in all 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

I arrived around 11:30 and the hostess seated me immediately. Our server, Jaden, came over to the table right away to introduce himself, provide water, and ask if I wanted to get started with any drinks. I decided to wait for my friends to arrive, and while waiting, I took a look at the food and drink menu. Upon arrival of the two friends, we ordered cocktails first and then decided on food. I ordered the Pink Pony and later the cosmopolitan, and eggs benedict for breakfast. My meal was quite delicious and I finished every morsel on my plate. The poached eggs were done perfectly and I really enjoyed the potatos. We were seated in the interior dining room to the left of the entry and I did not check out the other interior areas of the restaurant, but I loved the Mid Century Modern / Palm Springs vibe. I especially loved the "fly fan" on each table to use because the bar behind where we were sitting was open to the outside. We did not have an issue with flies but the fans are a nice and considerate touch. Jaden provided excellent customer service, checking back as our drinks got low, and checking back on the food, which we all very much enjoyed. When we left there was some live music outside, but we did not stay as it was a pretty warm Sunday on 6/14/26, but I will most definitely return. I'm especially looking forward to returning in the evening when the weather gets a little cooler toward the end of summer. This is a really fun place, with great food and great service!

The chicken katsu is still one of the best I've had--light, crispy, and perfectly crunchy on the outside, with juicy, tender chicken inside. Every visit has been consistently delicious, and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. I also tried the spicy pork again. It's a bit different from the Korean spicy pork I'm used to. Instead of the pork being marinated so the flavor is deeply infused, it seems to be grilled first and then coated with the sauce. While it's not the traditional style I expected, it's still flavorful and worth trying if you're open to a different take on the dish. In addition the chicken gangjeong dish that requires it to be "deep fried chicken" needs additional time to get crunchy like you would expect. I think the sauce may have made the crunch disappear. The consistency in both the food and the service is what keeps bringing me back. I'm looking forward to working my way through the rest of the menu. The bibimbap was fresh and well balanced, with plenty of vegetables, tender beef, and a perfectly fried egg that tied everything together. Every bite had a great mix of textures and flavor. We came in on a Tuesday night and there was still a crowd, but we were seated within about 15 minutes. It was quite lively with a few larger groups were we were seated, but you could still talk amongst your group and be heard. As for the food, it is still some of the best fish I've tasted. The prices have definitely gone up in the 10ish years I've been coming, so it's probably more a rare treat than an occasional visit. Everything was super fresh and came out quick enough. The serving size for some of the dishes have diminished, for example, the Musolino Pasta. Considering the base is upon noodles, I'm surprised they're putting less into that rather than their fish. The sushi rolls and sashimi dishes we picked still had a lot of fish pieces and very very fresh. Just that one big ding on a non-sushi based dish and of course the prices. Aside from that, I still love coming here and the Fair Oaks location is still near and dear to my heart.
