I came back, based on my previous visit , and this time I was pretty disappointed. This was close to being a two star review... I was seated right away, and everybody was friendly. The server that seated me brought my coffee, but she didn't bring me any creamer. I didn't catch it at first, until she brought me my coffee, and I noticed there was none on the table When a different server came to take my order, she spoke hardly any English. When I asked her for the steak omelette, she understood that part, but when I said what I wanted with the omelette, plus when I started to ask for creamer in my coffee, she just looked at me, kind of confused, obviously, she didn't understand, she went to get another server who came back in a couple of minutes I asked, and she brought me creamer for my coffee. I put in my order, asking for fruit instead of potatoes, and my toast with the butter on the side. My food comes quickly, except for my toast. She says, I will bring you your toast. I was halfway through my meal, and I still didn't have my toast. My server walked by, and before I could say anything, she looked at me, and said, "oh, let me get you your toast." the toast came, and instead of having the butter on the side, it was *SLATHERED* with butter. Not only that, but the toast was overdone, and it tasted burnt in some spots. It took so long to get it the first time, I didn't bother asking them to redo it. The steak omelette itself just wasn't as good this time. They were generous with the fillings, but the steak was pretty chewy, and it just didn't taste very good. It had some kind of an aftertaste. Not only that, the roasted jalapeño that I had last time, it's obvious that it only kissed the grill for a few seconds. I took one bite, and it was way too spicy for me. I could tell that it had hardly been cooked at all. The coffee was OK, and the fruit was very good and very fresh. The fruit, and the politeness of everybody saved this from being a two star review. Again, the price was reasonable, and they do offer the military/veterans discount, but the breakfast just wasn't as good this time. I don't think I will be back again. There's plenty of other places that I can go to. Thanks anyway. read more

My first time here. I came in about 7:30 AM on Saturday, December 28, 2024. Here are my thoughts: The good: the biscuit was tasty. The eggs were perfect over easy. The chicken fried steak was tasty and the batter was just slightly crunchy, which was nice. The coffee was strong. The service was excellent. The bad: very minor notes here. The gravy on the chicken fried steak and the biscuit was bland, uninspired. The country potatoes were just slightly undercooked. The ugly: N/A Overall, it was a good value for the amount of food that I got. I would certainly come back here at some point and try something else. Wow! The portrayal of this place on Yelp absolutely does not jive with my visit here tonight! They have live bands every Thurs through Sunday night, and I went to hear my hub's band, The BAGMEN. (They also have karaoke and country line dancing on other nights.) New owners, a family, bought the biz a few months ago, and they've been adding a lot of new things in. They have wine, beer and mimosas, and are getting their full liquor license in August! One of the owners--Sam--is a bartender, and he and his fiancée Vanessa are super nice and very attentive. I wasn't hungry and only got their Seasoned Fries, which were very good, but the hubs got the New York Steak & Eggs, and he loved it, said it was perfectly cooked. Country potatoes were flavorless. The onion and bell peppers looked raw... maybe thrown in after heating the potatoes?? Sausage is the ground type formed into links. Not my preference but should have caught that on the menu. Bacon was fine. Now to eggs, OM, and this relates to the whole meal too. They were cold!! We really enjoyed our meals at CH Cafe! The place is clean and spacious, and a bit nicer than the Dennys that was there previously. The service is very friendly and accommodating. The food quality is reasonably good; it's standard food service-quality, but prepared very well and served hot. None of our dishes were greasy like some diners can be. It was a nice touch to offer a variety of brewed tea packets and sweeteners. Prices were in line with other diners in the region. This was very meh..... I couldn't wait to leave. Some club was meeting so was a bit loud and felt like I couldn't talk or would disturb them. The food was bland and though $15.50 had only potatoes. No fruit or garnish, etc. The waitress was friendly but extremely hurried. When I asked a question she just walked away and then brought it. So wasn't anything wrong per se, but I wasn't ordering just yet, I was asking for info. Charged me for coffee that I didn't order, but took it off. Perfectly nice cafe, but just too pricey and meh. Gem of a diner! My husband and I have eaten here a few times and each time we have been greeted with great service and eaten great food. I definitely recommend getting one of the specials specifically that Chilaquiles super flavorful and delicious but you can never go wrong with a classic breakfast so far everything here is really great and the ambience is nice and balanced like a diner should be. read more

Very unsanitary! I was led to a table that the server (Isaac) wiped off with his hand (no towel or cleaner). While I was eating, a family came in with a pet chihuahua and let it sit at the table. I asked the server and confirmed that the restaurant allows people to bring in pet dogs and let them eat at the table. When I mentioned that it's against health codes, the server (Isaac) laughed and asked if I'll bring my dog next time. read more

Service was fast and workers were very nice. The food was clearly microwaved and was extremely bland. We ordered the waffle combo and french toast combo. The waffle was crispy on the outside and not as hot on the inside and came with a bland flavor. Eggs were fine, bacon was absolutely microwaved, dry, and gross. The french toast was barely done, limp, and flavorless, no cinnamon flavor, literally was microwaved. The link sausages were also microwaved- sadly, I ordered two more, which cost $3.49. The over easy eggs were fine. After we got the check, the waitress cleaning up the table behind us said "they didn't leave anything... no tip." The kind male waiter with the tattoo on his arm said "I know, it's fine." The waitress who made that comment should know that kind of chatter should be left for the back room, not near customers, because the food was so terrible, I understand why they didn't tip. We tipped 11% for the kind male server's service. We usually tip 20%+. I don't recommend this place. Even Dennys is better. Avoid if you like quality food. It's off the main drag of Sunrise Blvd. It's a little hard to get to if you're coming from the cross street because you have to weave through a few other parking lots. My family, and I all enjoyed our food. It was pretty empty which is too bad because the food was high quality. The waitress was friendly and personable. They were out of the soup of the day which was a bit disappointing, but it wasn't a deal breaker. I think it could be a bit livelier, but I would go again based on the food. It even has the same mural painted on the back wall, but I digress. The food was....not bad. Again, it's just like a Perko's. Diner-esque food. My omelet was nondescript but decent, although the pancakes definitely had a boxed mix taste. My little sis enjoyed her club sandwich and curly fries. Just don't get it. If you're craving Mexican food, this is not the place to go haha. Had a great hot sandwich called the Ultimate French Dip. Basically a French dip with bell peppers. Almost a cheesesteak with au jus. Very good cafe with a homey feel.
