Erica's Cafe used to be our go to breakfast spot after church on Sunday. It no longer is. Now I will tell you why. It's been about a year since we last dropped in, due to other commitments. We arrived today with great expectations. We were seated promptly and asked what we want to drink, my wife ordered tea, I had ice water with lemon slices. The lemon slices were half dried and contained almost no lemon juice. Squeezed about three drops into my water, and three into my wife's tea. We ordered our food, expecting what we had previously experienced. I'll start with the sides. Both of us ordered the Country fried Potatoes. These used to come with some onions, and green and red peppers, and a seasoning. It was easy to tell they were made fresh on site. This time They were nothing but dried chunks out of a bag that looked but did not taste fried. No peppers, no onions, no seasoning, not even oil from the fry pan so you could put salt on them that would stick. No flavor. I had to drown mine in hot sauce just to choke them down. Also, the portion size has been reduced. My eggs (over easy) were undercooked and runny, my bacon and sausage were cold. The best part of the meal was the toast with jam, and Erica's didn't make either of them. My wife's' omelette was of decent size, but she also thought it was bland. She added salt, and I have NEVER in 22 years seen her add salt to anything. Overall, it was disappointing. Is it new ownership?? I don't know. But the straw that broke the camels back on this visit? A server came by and without saying a word, such as "would you like more coffee", dumped coffee into my wife's TEA and lemon slices! If he had asked we would have told him it was tea, but we had no chance, he just showed up and poured ruining her drink. I would have thought he should have seen the great big lemon slices in the cup and realized people don't but lemons in their coffee. ‍ Anyway, we didn't make a scene, or complain to the boss as that would have been traced to a specific server/cook, and we don't want to get someone in trouble. We paid a nice tip because we know people working in a restaurant need whatever they can get, and this review is what I/we decided to do instead. From here, hopefully management can make changes, without blaming individuals. In the end Erica's, you need to get your game back to where it was. Otherwise, Edelweiss in auburn where the portions are literally twice as large at the same price, their potatoes aren't dry and their entrees aren't cold, will become our new go to. read more

I am always open to finding new restaurants and cafes and this is a match with one of my favorite genres, a diner vibe. So, I was glad when a friend of mine from the area brought me here. The place had quite a few patrons when we got there mid-morning, but the service was still attentive and the food came quickly, sooner than I expected in fact. I ordered their corned beef hash and their servings were generous, nothing extraordinary, but certainly competent. I usually take a photo of my order, but somehow on this visit, I had a brain lapse. :-) The place was clean, it had good spirit and I've no complaints. I am always glad to support mom-n-pops and small businesses and this fits right in center what I endorse and encourage others to support. Happy eats to all of you. read more

This place is cute, small, but people come and go relatively quickly. We went around 10/10:30 and were seated immediately. Our waitress was super friendly and attentive, food came out quickly. There was an older gentleman walking around filling coffees and giving people with to go containers bags. Very friendly place. I'd say the only downside is that there is nowhere to wait. We couldn't walk out without asking people to move since so many people were crowded just inside and on the sidewalk right outside. My dad loved his omelet and everyone else liked their food too. My eggs Benedict had fully cooked eggs which really takes from the allure of eggs Benedict BUT they loaded it up with hollandaise so I didn't complain! read more

A solid 4 1/2 stars, just shy of a five. I'm always looking for new breakfast spots, and when I found this on the web, I decided to stop in. It's a nice little café, it is apparently very popular. Even at 9 AM on a Thursday morning, it was busy. I was seated at a table right away. The place is clean, and everybody was friendly. The menu is big, and I decided to go for the shrimp and avocado omelette. Shrimp, avocado, bell peppers, onions, and jack cheese. I am not a fan of bell peppers, so I asked if they could swap the bell peppers out for mushrooms. They said sure, no problem. Also, instead of potatoes, I asked for fruit, and I got a nice bowl of very fresh fruit. The omelette was delicious! A generous portion of avocado, and also a generous portion of decently sized shrimp. These were not your little cocktail shrimp, people! The shrimp were delicious. The eggs were good, and all of the Fixins just played really well together. I really enjoyed it. The coffee was good, and they kept my cup full. The only thing that takes off a half a star, was the biscuit. I asked for a biscuit instead of toast. The biscuit was small, and it was not light and fluffy, it was a bit chewy for my personal taste. Next time, I will just order toast or an English muffin. The price was very reasonable, and they also offer a military/veterans discount. Other than that one tiny thing, I really enjoyed my meal. Went there for breakfast based on reviews. As soon as you walk in the aroma of the food entices your palate. The food was really good with fast service and decent pricing. Their homemade flan, arroz con leche and cheesecake looked yummy but too full for dessert. Their menu has choices of both Mexican and American food. They have a few TV's going on and the chatter of clients which makes it a bit loud but I would definitely return and recommend. read more

We went for breakfast which was ok, we entered with availability to pick our own table and by the time we left they were on wait list. We had the linguisa and egg breakfast with grits and toast. Grits needed ALOT of salt but I'm not complaining there, food was fast but came out cold. Service was slow as our server had a lot of tables. It was ok but would t go out of my way to go back. Here is my two cents on the quality quantity and price of this café. It was delivered by Uber eats and it quickly and timely matter with a great handoff.. I order a New York steak, medium rare onion rings, sourdough toast, and two eggs over easy . Plus I got a coffee, which was only three dollars.. I did not realize that I gave them an actually a hard order to do even when you are in the restaurant .. And this order was delivered! I ordered two over easy eggs, onion rings, sourdough toast, and a New York steak, medium rare . Upon arrival I looked at everything the steak was actually a very good medium rare ... I had a good amount of onion rings and perfectly cooked over easy eggs...Plus considering the distance for delivery I found this to be an excellent order. . And you should note you do not usually order a steak at any other place, but a steakhouse ... I found they did a good job , medium rare for delivery. It was tender and easy to cut.. This meal only cost me $20 including my coffee which in today's market is a very good value and they did a wonderful job ... I highly recommend you give this place a try. read more

The food was delicious and everything was fresh. I really like this place, but when I went to eat there today, I ended up with a waiter who provided terrible service and seemed completely surly. I had the Santa Fe Skillet, which arrived at our table still sizzling, and my daughter had the Denver omelet. Both were delicious. This place looks really run down and outdated. Service and food was mediocre and trust me I am being generous in saying that. I ordered a very basic breakfast combo. The french toast came out looking extremely under-cooked resembling regular buttered toast and tasting of pure egg. The server whose primary language is not English (which is totally fine) except that she didn't understand when I told her about 3 different ways that the french toast was under-cooked and I would like it cooked longer and it should have more of a brown color. She comes back 10 minutes later with an identical slice of "french toast" At that point I knew I wasn't going to get cooked french toast and had lost my appetite from the raw egg batter toast and frustration of not wanting to keep waiting for the same terrible food. She came back around a little while later and asked if it was better and I told her it was not. I showed her a picture of what french toast looked like and she didn't seem to comprehend. No apology no offer for a replacement item, no nothing. So we left. Fast forward about 8 hours later and I spent half the evening in the bathroom with the worst diarrhea and stomach cramps. I didn't have anything else to eat that day so it could have only been the food I ate and I am guessing it was the raw egg from the "french toast." The pictures I took showing the first one they brought out and the second one that was supposedly "cooked longer" actually make the french toast look more cooked than it was because they keep the lights dimmed incredibly low inside for some reason with all of the shades down. We honestly didn't even know if it was open or not because it looks closed from the outside. I highly recommend finding another spot to eat. This place isn't it! read more

The service and food are both excellent. We like to go for breakfast as they have perfectly-sized "senior" portions! One egg, one piece of bacon, 1 sausage link, hash browns and toast- $9.99! And it's all very good. They have plenty of booths which is our preferred seating. Parking lot is usually crowded which is always a good sign! Erica's has become my favorite breakfast spot. Their brewed coffee is really decent, they have an enclosed outside seating area which is a lovely calm space. They also understand crisp, so if you order the bacon and hash browns crisp they will be exactly that and not some soggy half done mess. But the main reason I keep going back is that they have the best veggie omelette I've had that I don't make myself. Most restaurants barely serve veggies and the ones they do serve are rarely good. But the chef at Erica's really gets the glory of veggies cooked delicately and always super fresh. I'm pretty sure the combo is always a little different each time which says to me they are put together with a true appreciation of the veg. I would have given 4.5 stars because there's a couple things I don't love--lousy jelly choices only strawberry and grape neither of which I've eaten since 3rd grade, and the eggs Benedict was meh, and grossly undercooked eggs. But the good far outweighs the bad so taking a whole star away wasn't right. read more

Good Lord. I gave these fools a second on breakfast and I learned my lesson. Chili cheese omelet. Ever had a tough omelette ? I have now. Way too salty. Side of ham steak that simply inedible. Tough , way too salty and way too unappealing. Toast? Not toasted yet it arrived stale. Cottage cheese? Had a bit of a tang to it so it went in the garbage. This was go to breakfast two years ago and now if caught on fire I would run down with smores. Horrible place. I have no idea what has happened but avoid the s-hole at all costs. I went to Erica's for breakfast. I ordered a waffle and a glass of milk. The waitress was very nice. My plate came out within 10 minutes. The waffle was barely room temperature. The plate was not hot. The butter on it didn't even melt. I didn't say anything because I didn't want it nuked. I wanted a hot off the griddle waffle. This, just not cold waffle, cost me $10. I never got my milk, but it was on the bill which I had her remove. read more
