I visited Pancake Palace in North Highlands, CA [6225 Watt Ace] on Thursday, 05/07/26, around 11:30 AM. I came here because I was invited to a group brunch gathering filled with community leaders from North Highlands, Elverta, and Rio Linda. For breakfast, I decided to order the Portuguese Burrito. It was a burrito made with linguica, scrambled eggs, bell pepper, onion, and Cheddar cheese, topped with salsa and sour cream. It also came with a side of fruit. The entire meal was so filling and mouthwatering. The burrito was flavorful, especially when I added a few drops of Cholula Hot Sauce to enhance the flavor. The side of fruit included a mixture of cantaloupe, pineapple, grapes, and melon, and it was beyond fresh. The customer service exceeded expectations. All of the staff members who served the entire group were so pleasant and attentive. I felt nothing but warm hospitality with a bunch of smiles. The inside of the restaurant was decently-sized with plenty of tables and chairs available. The atmosphere presented as a cozy, family-friendly diner. The parking lot had ample spaces for vehicles. Overall, I was gratified with my visit to Pancake Palace. This restaurant is a solid breakfast & lunch spot in the North Highlands area. I highly recommend stopping by. read more

The service at Pancake Palace was amazing. Everyone we interacted with was friendly, welcoming, and very accommodating, which made for a great dining experience. The food tasted okay while we were eating it, but unfortunately both my husband and I ended up with upset stomachs afterward. We can't say for certain what caused it, but it seemed like the cooking oil may not have been the best quality. The outstanding customer service is the reason for the three stars, but based on our experience, we're not sure we'd return for the food. read more

Unlike our normal review, in order to understand Pancake Palace, you need a bit of background. Located on North Highlands, a working class area of Sacramento county, Pancake palace has been a staple of the community for more than 20 years. Local politicians would hold community meetings there. The area itself has plenty of fast food, but almost no places to sit down and enjoy a meal. 2 years ago, a devastating fire closed the Palace, but they finally reopened-2 days ago, and we were happy to go back for breakfast on a Saturday morning. THE PROS: The newly renovated restaurant was clean and bright. Service was great, and my coffee was always topped off hot and fresh. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. We did all the standard fare: bacon eggs pancakes waffles and hash browns. THE CONS: While I want to support a local anchor, every place does have a few weak points. No real butter was one. Also, don't go by the pictures on the menu. The Palace made the mistake many small places make, and thought that the menu is good enough. None of the photos present the food well. BOTTOM LINE: We will be back. Is the food amazing?- no, but it is good, solid coffee shop fare, served with heart for the neighborhood. Their signature sandwich "The Highland Melt" is always a favorite. We are very glad the Palace has returned. read more

Yo I know the peeps here and they care for their customers. Food is cooked right, prices are fair and setting is clean. Only thing I would say is it could be a bit cooler but what do I know I keep A/C on in my room whenever in there and maybe I just chose the wrong corner lol. Also great to see a dad and sons love. Loved this spot! It's unassuming and super clean inside. Immediately greeted and seated. Being our first time there were so many menu items we wanted to try. They're back! My favorite local place is back after renovations after a fire! The owner and his sons are neighborhood staples. You can feel the love in the building with so many customers. Once I found out they were opened I showed up three times that week! The waffle combo and the cordoned beef hash breakfast are my favorites. They do not skimp on service or food. My mom is in love with the club sandwich! The interior looks really nice, my only gripe is the counter seating. The bar stools are too high, I loved the more accessible counter section at the end for wheelchairs and shorter people. This place is perfect if you're dining alone too because they have mini booths for two. Pancake Palace is definitely a neighborhood institution. read more

Been wanting to try this place ever since we moved to the area and finally got to today. The prices are great for the portion of food you get. The pancakes are fluffy. The service is warm and welcoming, and the food is pretty good too! The only thing that needed improvement was the bacon which was too salty, and the children's high chairs that were very dirty. OMG! I have been waiting to try this place since they reopened and let me tell you, it's so great! We work down the street and decided to stop in for lunch last week. We were immediately greeted with a warm welcome when walking in. We sat down and were asked about drinks and given menus. There's lots to choose from and I was torn between a few items, but, I decided on the BLT. We also ordered the open face roast beef sandwich, a scramble, pancakes with strawberries, and eggs with hashbrowns and sausage. Our server was great! It wasn't that crowded yet and everything came out fast, hot and delicious! The owner made sure to touch each table, which was great and his son, has such great customer service that, they make you want to come back. So today was the first time in over a year since being back to this restaurant due to a fire. I had my wife Sokny, and my mom Kathy with me. We ordered the build your own breakfast, where we all ordered at least 5 to 6 different items. As always, the food was excellent. The staff was great as always. We got welcome back by the team with open arms. It was great for management to remember us. All the guests were talking among each other. Nice ambiance noise. Customer service was great very attentive, food wasn't as good eggs weren't cooked all the way meaning the whites weren't cooked all the way. Grew up coming here with my entire family, we were very sad to find out the place had burned down. Just came back today since they've recently reopened. I'm glad to see it's still alive and thriving. Stopped at pancake palace for breakfast on our way out of town. We're always huge fans of supporting family owned small businesses so it was a must. The second we walked in the door we were greeted by friendly staff. The wait staff were wonderful and very kind. They offered my daughter a coloring book and crayons and even played peek a boo with her. The food is well priced, delicious and the portion sizes are great. This place was very busy on a Saturday morning but we were able to be seated right away and the food came out very quickly. 10/10 recommend. read more

Gavin and I drove up here on Black Friday to take Ronnie's daughter out. We hit it off and remained in contact despite everything that happened. The menu has tons of variety but I stuck w/ what I think was not super unhealthy. Yeah, the biscuits and gravy.. I know but if it counts I only ate half of it and took the other half home. I was sick so I couldn't really taste my food... all I know was that the biscuits and gravy were great- not dry like most. Bells didn't finish her Banana Cakes. The portion was huge! She had it boxed as well to enjoy later which meant she got at least another meal out of it. Unlike her dad we can eat leftovers w/o a problem.
