For the love of diners. I've posted before that one of my affinities are those good ol' fashioned diners, especially the ones you find in small towns, a bit worn around the edges and "if-the-walls-could-talk" kinda joints. ...and serving none of those pretentious plant-based milks of oat, almond, or soy in their specialty coffees with smoked rosemary or other fresh herbs for aromatic flair and garnished with high falutin junk just to appear trendy, self-important, superior, or sophisticated, often in a way that seems exaggerated and pompous. Gag me with a spoon as they used to say. (End of rant. ) Pardon my digression. I stopped by to see a close buddy and he treated me to a classic breakfast, just the way I like it. Simple. No avocado, mango or quince crap added, just eggs, bacon, hash browns and sourdough toast basted with butter. Not even a sprig of anything green. End of story. There, I said the silent part out loud for many of you.

Creekside Diner has become one of our go-to spots for breakfast and or lunch--and for good reason. The menu offers a great selection, at a good value, and everything we've tried so far has been tasty and satisfying. The mushroom burgers are delicious, and well-made. My personal favorite is the Country Fried Steak--comfort food done right! The service is usually very good, and the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. We find ourselves coming back here more and more. Definitely a solid choice if you're in the area and craving a hearty, no-fuss meal. Not a fancy diner, but the right amount of delicious food and friendly.

This is one of those off the beaten track, down the road, tucked in a strip mall classic breakfast spots. No matter how many we hit, they never seem to disappoint. The place could definitely use some new tabletops and a good scrubbing, but that actually might ruin the divey breakfast diner feel of the place. Service here is a tag team effort with every one pitching in to make sure the food gets to the customer good and hot. Speaking of food - it is delicious and plentiful. They offer up just about the crispiest hash browns and bacon I've ever had. Prices are ridiculously reasonable making the value here incredible! That's what happens when you're not paying midtown prices. Do yourselves a favor and hit the road for the Creekside Diner. You certainly won't leave hungry.

Found this place while taking a weekend drive with my husband. We like to fine new towns with mom and pop restaurants. The restaurant is on the older side but I don't mind that. I do have to say it was too dark , half of the lights were not on or not working ? They have sports stuff on the walls and other random stuff but seemed fitting for a small town. My opinion the floors could use a good vacuum however I did notice a steady stream of people coming in to eat or pick up orders. The wait staff were friendly and pretty quick. The food was good. The gravy ( how my husband rates a place) was really good and his biscuit was fluffy. My omelette was good. All in all it was a nice little stop.

My friend brought me here and must say this is a hidden gem in the rio linda area. It has that old diner restaurant feel and the food was so good! I like what i ordered and its not too pricey. I got my order for like $15 bucks and boy was it good! Will come back here and will bring my husband next time. Service was quick too. We didn't have to wait a long time for the food to arrive. More power yall!

I was a tiny bit hesitant because they did not have a Benedict on their menu and that's always my go to for a first visit. So I was happy to see that they have Benedict on the weekend! We both ordered the cowboy Benedict, a fork-tender chuck steak on a brioche with plenty of hollandaise. I thought it was ribeye. Very delicious. Not wanting more potatoes we got the sweet potato crisp,s which were exceptional. That was a three dollar upgrade. I also got one pancake for five bucks which I liked. The waitress asked if it was OK if it took longer to make scratch hollandaise. Heck yes! The owner john came by a few times and asked us how we liked it and offered a taste of their gravy. Not a huge fan of southern pork gravy, but this was smoky tasting and delicious. He is obviously proud of their meals. We chatted with a young couple, the guy all tattooed. I hadn't been since last summer and was happy to return. Parking can be a bit hectic, but once you're inside, the atmosphere makes up for it. It's a family-owned spot, and you can feel it right away -- everyone is kind, welcoming, and takes the time to check in on you. We came for breakfast, but they also offer lunch and barbecue options, so there's plenty to choose from depending on when you go. They've also expanded and now have a location in Elk Grove. I ordered the French toast plate, which came with thick-cut slices of bread, eggs, and bacon. The French toast was soft on the inside with a nice golden finish, full of flavor without being overly sweet. The eggs were well seasoned, and the bacon was cooked just right. BB ordered the cheeseburger with fries and a side of grits. The burger was juicy with grilled onions and melted cheese, and the fries had that crispy, beer-battered texture. Everything came out hot and satisfying. Overall, a great spot for comfort food with genuinely friendly service. Definitely planning to come back -- especially for the biscuits and gravy next time.

Drink refills were frequent and she checked on us regularly. I had the Riverboat omelet and my mother had the Mississippi skillet. On my mother's it lacked spice. She ended up asking for salsa to help with the lack of taste. Mine came with chili luckily. The omelet alone had little taste and I think that's because of all the veggies in it. But once you added the flavorful chili it was really good. The hash browns were crispy and brown but a little greasier than I like. The restaurant was cute. The music and vibe were fun. I chose the biscuit because I love having biscuits with breakfast and was really looking forward to it. The service was quick and friendly, which I really appreciated, and the ambience felt peaceful and fresh, making the meal even more enjoyable. The country reds were a bit underwhelming for me. On their own, they tasted very plain, and even though they were topped with grilled vegetables, they still didn't bring much flavor. They were only somewhat enjoyable after I added ketchup, but without it, they really weren't something I liked. Unfortunately, they ended up not being my favorite, and I didn't even finish them. The gravy was also disappointing because it lacked the rich, savory flavor I was expecting. The biscuits didn't stand out either. Personally, I love biscuits that are buttery, soft, and almost melt in your mouth, and these just didn't have that kind of texture or flavor. The omelet, on the other hand, was much better. I ordered it topped with Creolo sauce, and I was expecting more of an actual sauce, but it was more like roasted tomatoes spooned over the top. That said, the omelet itself was good, and the sausage inside was especially tasty and full of flavor. As for the drink, I tried the Huckleberry iced tea. If you enjoy raspberry tea, you would probably like it, because that's very much what it tasted like. I personally was hoping for more of a classic sweet iced tea flavor, so I wish I had known that beforehand. Still, if raspberry-style tea is your thing, it may be a good choice. Overall, there were a few items that missed the mark for me, but the omelet and sausage were definitely the highlight of the meal, and the quick service and peaceful atmosphere left a positive impression.

This establishment has been here for years and is always filled with patrons everyday. So what did we order. 1) basic breakfast: homemade sausage patty, 2 eggs, pancakes. The sausage patty was large had a nice flavor. Two eggs were a little too runny. Pancakes were good; fuffy, sweet, and nice size. 2) Bacon cheeseburger: very tasty juicy burger that came with all the appropriate fixins. the entire burger was covered with crispy bacon. it also arrived with a ton of hot fries. 3) Monday special: Homemade chicken enchiladas. this entree comes with two shredded chicken enchiladas covered in a mild sauce, basic refried beans, and seasoned spanish rice. Not the best but decent. 4) spinach salad: this entree looked fresh and inviting. fresh spinach leaves, covered with fresh strawberries, pieces of cold chicken, avocados slices, and real crispy bacon bits. dressing arrived on the side. very nice salad even with the cold chicken. 5) garden omelette: filled with veggies(spinach, bell peppers, onions, zucchini). my only complaint: slightly overcooked which makes a fuffy omelette into a somewhat tough scrambled egg omelette. This dish also comes with 2 large pancakes. there were a few little mishaps. it took some time before our wait staff took our order and even longer before our food arrived. The eggs were a little runny, omelette was a tad overcooked, and cold pieces of chicken in the salad. Hence just 3 stars.
