Easy to make reservations the day before It doesn't look like much from the outside and parking was packed, but we seemed to get there right at the right time (10:30am on a Saturday) as a few people were leaving. There is a check-in iPad when you walk up, its cute and quaint inside. The menu had so many options and seems they may change their mimosa menu monthly. My cousin got a sweet and savory plate (#3) - but it seemed to be a lot smaller portion than expected. I got the biscuits and gravy. We didn't have to wait too long and food and service was good. If in the area again I would try again.

Had a wonderful time dining here for breakfast on a Saturday morning with my partner! Tucked away in sacramento, it's a restaurant with lots of personality and great food! We arrived around 9 am and were sat immediately. Arriving early was a good move since they hit their breakfast rush around 10 pm! It's an energetic place with friendly and attentive staff. They do take reservations! I ordered the half chicken fried sandwich with scrambled eggs with a side of tater tots and a Nutella waffle. I was so happy by the portion size as pictures don't do it justice. The sandwich was hefty with so much gravy and scrambled eggs in the sandwich. So delicious, mouthwatering, and crunchy. The tater tots were so crispy and tasty. The Nutella waffle had such a great heaping amount of Nutella! So soft, warm, and sweet! A wonderful experience to dine here!

We like going here for a cozy brunch. I recommend joining the waitlist asap because it can get pretty busy - especially if you're going on a holiday like Mother's Day! They always have great cocktail options (even flights to try their featured drinks!) Food is typical diner food, but I'd rather support a woman owned small diner than a chain! I was really craving pancakes and the chocolate chip pancakes hit the spot. They weren't too busy so the waitress was able to check in on us frequently. They do have a parking lot but both times we have been, it's been full. The neighborhood does NOT have public parking, so you'll need to drive around a bit for a spot.

    The Toasted Rooster?

The only reason why I'm giving this place 3 stars is because of Kellen(?). He's a super sweet, empathetic, and kind young man. He checked on us several times & asked me again how's everything when I was waiting in line at the bathroom. Another incident was when he went after the folks who left their food behind. I think most kids his age wouldn't know what to do or even cared to bring the food to them. His parents raised him well. Now to our server and food. I won't mention her name because maybe she had a bad day or something else is going on with her life. I get that they're busy, but she looked like she hated her job. She didn't smile once. What was most disappointing was when we showed her the molded raspberries that were in one of the mimosa. She didn't apologize at all. All she said was, "ok," and grabbed the molded berries away. If she was empathetic about what happened, I wouldn't be writing this review but her action on how it was handled needs to be addressed. Now onto the food. I won't speak on behalf of the other 8 in our party, but I will review on mine. I got the chicken wings and waffle. The waffle tasted like cardboard. It was so dry, even the syrup couldn't fix it. The wings were mini party wings, bland & dark! I'm not sure if it's from the seasoning or old oil but they were toasted. I mean, is that why the place is called Toasted Rooster? Today is my step daughter's 21st birthday and we really wanted to like this place and make it a memorable brunch. Food and service from our server were so bad that we would not be coming back.

Thanks Ciara and Jazzy for always making me feel so welcomed. One of my favorite breakfast spots a must try. Food is made to order always fresh hot and delicious. Many options to choose from with fun names. I always see groups of people meeting here. Great for groups. Outdoor seating, indoor patio seating, booth or table, they also have counter seats. My veggie omelette was filled with fresh spinach, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and bell peppers. So good. Their Coffee is so warm and comforting( actually hot coffee)The feel at home vibe. If you want to feel welcomed by friendly staff and delicious comforting food. Come try out the Toasted Rooster. Yum!

Man this place brought back so many great memories of when I was a kid. This location was home to Eggie's, a spot my mom and I would frequent. We had the entertainment coupon book and they were a staple in that book. The portions here are huge, food is awesome and service hits every mark. Parking lot is big but it fills pretty quick. And finding a spot can be a bit of a hassle, but don't give up. Be sure to sign up on the waitlist via Yelp and skip the line! Must try's here are the breakfast burrito's, home fries and their house made gravy! Toasted Rooster is now in the breakfast rotation when we go out :)

Sacramento has some of the most adorable places to eat. Searching yelp for places that have gluten free options this one popped up. We found this restaurant adorable. We were welcomed immediately upon walking in, sat and had our drinks within 2 minutes. The longest part was us deciding what we would be trying. The menu is filled with so many options with clever and unique names. The vibe of this place is country with a sense of humor. I absolutely love it! I ordered the breakfast pizza ... amazing flavor! The scrambles and hamburger steak breakfast were also a hit! However I have to say that the gluten free pancakes were the highlight here! I always love a restaurant that provide a dietary alternative to those people especially our kiddos who cant eat off the regular menus. The pancakes were delicious, they use quality ingredients and do not skimp on fabulous. We will definitely be back when we get back to Sacramento! Love Love Love this place!

If you're looking for a breakfast spot that feels cozy, Toasted Rooster absolutely delivers. Went during the week and when I arrived I was greeted by staff and seated promptly. Restaurant has a bright and rustic decor. The menu strikes the perfect balance between classic comfort food and creative twists. Ordered a traditional 2 egg breakfast with bacon and hash browns. Their breakfast had crispy hash browns with perfectly cooked eggs and crisp bacon. Although Everything tasted great I thought the serving portion size of bacon and hash browns were a bit small compared to other breakfast restaurants.

Living in the area for almost 9 years, and only once I moved elsewhere, I tried this establishment out. Shame on me! There was a fair amount of parking, but can imagine with a packed house, it might be an issue due to its location. I arrived around 745am on a weekday and there were already a decent amount of people seated. I was greeted and seated right away. Prior to looking over the menu, the server quickly asked if I would like any beverages or coffee which I appreciated. They brought it very quickly. Decor wasn't anything too flashy. I ended up getting the mother clucker. Loved it! The servings was very generous, and the server frequented re-pouring coffee - score! Its great to know I may have another go-to breakfast spot when I have to work at the office for the day. I'll 100% be back to try a few other menu items in the future!

If I had to guess I would think that it would we like this every weekend. Crowd. The close quarters and number of tables made the restaurant a very loud place. It was difficult to have a conversation with the person that you're sitting across from. Parking over here is also very sparse. The food is ok....pancakes are a bit dense and chewy....steak was a bit chewy as well, though we'll seasoned. Everything else we had was very good. Eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, coffee....all excellent. The wait was a bit excessive but our server hustled all mobusy. Only opportunity pricewise was the OJ....thougbt it was pricey for what i got.. Id like to come back next time when its not as busy.

Food is fantastic and service is amazing and friendly. It's a small, yet cozy and very busy cafe. Staff are very welcoming. Food options are plentiful and so delicious! They offer various mimosas every month, which are fun and also delicious!

We went here on a Sunday around 11:00 AM, and the restaurant was packed. Parking was a bit rough, and we had to circle back around, and fortunately, a car was leaving. We put ourselves on the wait list and were seated within a few minutes. The staff were running around and were all really nice. The food did come out before my coffee, which was a bit strange, but with how busy it was, I didn't mind. The food was pretty good. I think there could have been a bit more flavor from the chorizo, but I really enjoyed all the toppings and the portion sizes. I would definitely come back and try some of their sweet breakfast items, and their mimosas looked amazing!

If you've got a teenager, do I have a place for you! No appetite too big to be satisfied by the fantastic brunch selection. My 16-yr old highly recommends the chicken fried steak combo, add a biscuit. Variety of mimosas and a great selection of sweet and savory. Come hungry, leave happy! #EatLocal

Sorry, I don't know. Give them a call to find out what they offer Gluten-free.

Do you have gluten free pancakes, waffles or gf French toast?

We do not prep these items. While we do have the ability, the cooks do need ample time to prepare- so just know that they are made to order and take a bit longer to cook.

Upon entering, we were greeted by a friendly bartender by the name of Ronny. Our first round consisted of two dirty martinis (my new drink of choice), which Ronny put his fist (that's a good thing) into making. One of the things that I love about dive bars is the various demographics that usually frequent them (along with their interesting conversations). For our second round we ordered a "Manmosa (yes I know that sounds ridiculously machismo in 2024)" that Ronny insisted on putting a fruity spin on. Not only were we thankful for his suggestion, but his version was GOOD! In real dive bar-like fashion, Ronny provided us both with an extra cup to house the remainder of the Manmosa that could not fit into our glasses (another dive bar perk). As we sat at the bar, my wife and chatted while lightly watching the movie Step Brothers on one of the televisions. Although it was a fairly slow Saturday afternoon, I can imagine that this place gets pretty lively in the latter part of the night though. We observed lots of seating, games, and an area for karaoke (toasted karaoke is the best!). I highly recommend The Blind Pig if you're looking to have deliciously strong drinks at a price that won't have you waking up the next morning rethinking the decisions that you made the previous night!

There are no massage chairs and no jetted foot tubs. My tech started with removing my regular polish, trimming and filing and then proceeded to swipe a foot filer once maybe twice on my heels and that's it. That's all you get. Next up, 30 second sugar scrub and then a hot towel. Fresh polish and no lotion massage at all. Also, tech doesn't clean under the nails either. My friend wanted to do French tips with hearts on her finger nails and was told they don't do nail designs. It's below basic service and not worth the price. I will not be returning.

When we walked in I knew I was in the perfect spot-this bar has those low lights that all the bars in the 70s and 80s had-giving off a both romantic and mysterious vibe to it-I was in love with the place from that moment on. The music that day was awesome-I heard they have live music at times but at the time of my visit they did not-they were instead playing 90s and 2000s R&B and Hip Hop-it was wonderful-one banger after another-so yeah I was vibing. Our waitress couldn't have been cooler-she was as friendly as can be-suggesting drinks that were both on and off the menu-her and I were sharing tequila stories based on our shared affinity for the Fortaleza tequila they had in stock -which is super rare and it's how I judge every bar-whether or not they have Fortaleza tequila on hand and The Butterscotch Den had multiple bottles on hand. We ended up going with a few drinks that day. -Strawberry Negroni-($13.00)-This one blew my socks off-my favorite drink in the works is a Negroni but this bar makes a Strawberry version of it and let me tell ya-it's dynamite-10/10 rating -Old Fashioned-($12.00)-This is my go-to order at most bars because it's pretty reliable and most bars can make a decent one and I'd say they make a very solid one here-8.2/10 rating -Cucumber Gimlet with Tequila-($11.00)-This drink was made with lime-sweet vermouth and tequila-it was very refreshing and went down way too easy-rating 8.4/10 -Mezcal mystery drink-($12.00)-This was a drink the bartender made that after we declared our love for the smokiness of mezcal-I wouldn't be able to ask for it again unless I got the same waitress but if your a mezcal lover like I am-this drink was top of the line-smokiness intensity off the charts-9.1/10 rating So a little about the place that I picked up during my visit-I guess they serve food-I didn't know that but after my 2nd drink I looked back and saw this entire dining area with table side grills-so I guess the customers cook their own meats and such-pretty cool concept-my visit was strictly a drinking visit so I didn't partake but it looked pretty cool. I guess they are opened most days from 4p-12am and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights. They do not have a dedicated parking lot for this bar but they are located near 34th and Broadway-so unlimited street parking is available for those who drive here. In closing-I really really enjoyed my visit to The Butterscotch Den and I was pretty sure I had found my new favorite bar in Sacramento with a bar in the Ice Blocks but I am pretty sure that has changed and The Butterscotch Den is my new favorite bar in the greater Sacramento area-if you find yourself looking for a new spot to enjoy some adult beverages or maybe looking for a date night spot-don't hesitate to make your way over to The Butterscotch Den-the place is a true hidden gem. PS-They have a Disco Ball in their lounge area and a vintage non-working cigarette machine-the coolest I tell ya.
