Love the Berkley Bar! Location, location, location! And that is conveniently inside Cafe Bernardo in the beautiful Pavillions Shopping Center. Both the Bar and Cafe are owned and operated by the Paragary family. If you do not want to walk thru the Cafe, you may enter from the outside of the Bar through the beautiful glass doors. The Bar itself is small and intimate. Love that detail! It has clean lines with soft lights, tv for those sport fans and modern, high top tables with comfortable chairs...my fav! A couple of booths too. Can you say, "upscale" feel all the way. What more do you need! There is also a separate outside patio for the bar patrons! It has a real nice vibe. Lovely in the spring and fall. Another plus is the full service feature always going on. It shares the same menu with the Cafe but provides a real person coming to your table taking your order and delivering your food. Unlike certain Cafe hours where you must walk in and self order at the front. Let's talk Happy Hour! May I just say it totally rocks! While the liquor part of the HH is not a huge discount, the Bar Bites portion of the menu is quite a money saver. And your choices are varied and delicious. I must have a photo of it somewhere on my check-ins. I personally love the seasonal pizza. It is $14 regular and half off during HH. Whoa Nelly!:) Nachos, burger sliders, and more. See...the other thing is many restaurants have stopped HH since Covid. Not the Berkley Bar! Customer service at any Paragary establishment is first rate. The same applies here. Loved Marissa and miss her But everyone there is fabulous. At last visit, Sue took care of us marvelously! She was camera shy or I would have her sweet face front and center! So what the heck are you waiting for? Time is a wasting. For the best pour in town and excellent service...Berkely Bar awaits! Cheers!

Attached to Cafe Bernardo in the Pavilions shopping center. Came for Happy Hour (HH) since it's half off bar bites. Got Bar Fries, Street Tacos (3), and Black Bean Nachos for $16! What a deal. It wasn't busy on a Monday, but service was lacking. It's full service on the bar side, but it seemed like only the Asian guy was working. All three ladies were just standing/sitting and talking to each other. One was eating and on her phone..we sat right behind/next to them, so they should have seen us just waiting for our check. Had to ask for box and the check after watching them socialize for almost 10 min. The food was alright. Good for the price, but I would be disappointed if I paid full price. Flavors just weren't there..fairly bland. Overall, I would recommend for HH as it's a good value, but otherwise I would definitely skip this place.

It was a scorcher in Sacramento so it was warm in the restaurant despite that, the servers were moving quickly to provide service to a full restaurant. The bartender/our server was awesome! She was clearly hot but provided excellent service and was so pleasant. The food was as good as always but on this particular visit what really stood out was the staff.

This was a pre-covid visit - but loved this little space. The service was a little slow, but not that bad. They have a great bar area with lots of suggested drinks to choose from. We ordered some appetizers, which were flavorful, but I wasn't super impressed. I am giving this place 4 stars because I loved the ambiance and prices were great.

Update your hours. It's pretty disappointing to drive all the way over here to a closed bar at 1030pm on a Saturday evening.

The other coffee drink that surprised me was the Revolver. I always forget about what a good pairing orange and coffee is, and I'll be taking this one back home with me to try! Every other drink we tried was delicious in some unique way. The Pho drink was savory and surprising, the New York Sour was rich and flavorful, and the Practical Move was refreshing. For example, my water cup stayed empty twice for a while and only got filled when I asked. But it was initially given without asking which was good. Also, waited a bit to order and to get check. - Air condition a tad bit too strong for us. It was about 96°F outside though. - Men's restroom sink with auto sensor would have water runner for at least 7 seconds after my hand was away - Brick's Chicken that has a description of half a chicken shouldn't be taken literally. It doesn't have a drumstick. When asked about it, the server and chef didn't know why. - The horseradish with the prime rib was more of the creamy variety. I would have preferred more of raw horseradish with a bite.

Chicken was dry, bland and uninsired, and a very small portion. I also ordered a side of spinach that was bitter and oily. Another person ordered the short ribs, which were also a letdown, dry and overcooked. My other friend got the meatloaf, which was ok, but definitely not anything to remember. We all ordered soup and salad, and those items were good. It just seemed like the items prepared by the chef were terrible. Also, the time between courses was ridiculous. It wasn't even busy and there was over a 30 minute wait between each course. Our dinner took almost two hours! The service, while friendly, was very slow. No refills, not check backs. The restaurant was not even half full. I dont understand why salad, entree and desert takes two hours to come out. Prices were not in line with the quality of food presented. Sadly, we all agreed we'd never come back.

I was only going to have two drinks here, but watching him craft these artisan cocktails made me want more. I started with the Porn Star Martini which is appropriately named for the champagne ball which explodes bubbly in your mouth- perfect to spoon into your mouth after a sip of the martini! Next up was the Cereza Grande! I watched the bartender make it which was the point of enticement. Loved the sour cherry flavor and citrus fizz! Then, I couldn't leave without tasting the Hibiscus Sunset which caught my eye first. As for drinks, I opted for the Strawberry Rosé Slushee; it's refreshing and the perfect choice for brunch or happy hour. It tastes modestly sweet so I would caution downing more than a couple of these at the risk of a hangover. The Purple Haze (mainly ube foam on blanco tequila) is unfortunately nothing short of a flop. To be fair, I'm negatively biased toward anything tequila in the first place, but this drink tastes like straight tequila. The ube foam doesn't contribute to the taste and awkwardly floats on the surface. TLDR: beautiful interior, good food, and decent drinks (depending on what you get).
