    Refreshing!

Hidden gem! Nestled in a residential area, this wine bar has a great rotating menu and out door patio (a must for the summer in Sac). They are famous for their tins (mackerel, sardines, etc, which are served with a plate of bread), but if that's not your jam-they have other options too. Our fave were the arancini!

We wanted to have a light dinner and found this adorable wine bar. The inside decor was colorful and modern. There are outside tables in the parking lot. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the unusual wines which were delicious. The food was fresh and delicious. The golden beet dish and seasonal peach dish were amazing! We hope to return soon!

I was initially excited by the pics of good items on the Yelp page. The good was even 1000 times than expected!! OMG! The anchovies, the bone marrow, the confit chicken, and the shrimp were simply AMAZING!! Oh and the wine - was incredible as well!! The service is top notch and personalized! The ambiance is quaint and small which will throw you off because the food and the wine are anything but small!!! Great date spot, best friend date, or a solo night!

Delicious fresh and unique dishes. I came here on Friday at 5 and was easily able to get a table outside. I ordered the Shrimp Cakes and the Beet Salad. The shrimp cakes were light and crispy. The beet salad looked and tasted amazing! Refreshing, zesty and creamy. I can't wait to come back and try other dishes. Highlights: - Service was quick and friendly - Outdoor seating doubles the space inside - Dog friendly - small parking lot and lots of street parking

Hidden gem with fantastic food and warm service. I was visiting from San Diego and wanted to find a wine bar that showcased great ingredients. The nook really lived up to that expectation!! We had the shrimp cakes, tomatoes and cheese, and tinned anchovies!! Wowww the shrimp cakes were so light and crispy and perfectly paired with a bitter, sour, and sweet arugula salad! I think the tomatoes and cheese were my favorite though! WOW the cheese was so milky and luxurious and paired phenomenally with the yellow tomatoes. Loved everything about this dish!! The tinned anchovies were also really fun !! It had sliced olives and paired with pickled veggies and peppers. Wanted to take the oil home haha Loved everything about this experience. Ambiance was great and service was even greater. Hope to come back soon

Ate dinner at The Nook on a Friday night. We sat outside in the front patio because we were traveling with our dog. We ordered the Shrimp Gambano and the risotto paella. Both were absolutely delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The Nook is a small, intimate space, located in a residential neighborhood.

Went to an early dinner or snack I should say with family. Had some issues; as their online booking let me book an hour before they even opened. After seating we were given a menu that wasn't what they had posted as their their online menu. We were told the online menu hadn't been updated in a while after showing the hostess/server. We found items we would eat and the food was pretty good, but really was looking forward to items in the online menu. The set up was nice and well decorated with a lot of outside seating. I'd love to go back to see if they updated their menu with the other items.

Super cute spot! The food was very unique too. The shrimp cakes were incredible and even the salad that came with it was super good! I'm surprised they didn't have more wine options since they are a wine bar and the service wasn't particularly attentive, but we stayed until past closing on accident and they didn't say anything, so that was nice of them!

Back at The Nook! Just had the shrimp cakes and they are amazing. So flavorful, light, and crispy. The added spring pea puree on the bottom of the plate is an added treat! Loved it! I always get the carrots three ways but opted for the seasonal strawberries three ways this time and it did not disappoint!! Chef Joe My server was attentive and very knowledgeable! It's a must try when in Sacramento!!

The cutest little neighborhood wine bar! We were looking for a place to go to get a drink and a bite...at 3pm on a Tuesday. We came across the Nook and figured we'd head over and try it. Because of the timing it was empty when we arrived but we were quickly greeted and told to sit wherever. (They have a cute outdoor patio but it was chilly so we sat inside.) After looking at the menu we decided to order a flight of 3 wines. I chose the sparkling rose, the Tosca (similar to an oakey Chardonnay with a wild nose) and the bars Honda monsarell (most similar to a Pinot noir). Our server/who runs the front of the house was really knowledgeable about all the wine on the menu and offered a ton of recommendations. We opted to order to the patatas bravas for a little snack. I feel like most places serve thicker potato chunks but these patatas bravas were kind of like chips - they were absolutely delicious! If we lived closer, I imagine we would walk here all the time! It's about a 15 minute drive for us so I definitely see us going back again soon. Would love to try more of the food options!

Classy, unique, fancy-smancy. Lots of unique Spanish wines with small plates. They are super helpful since you might not recognize most of the wine. Pairing suggestions are great too. Friendly, well paced service for a conversational light meal. The selection of tinned fish and caviar was good.

They also sell wine by the bottle and I love the fact that they feature independent wine producers. On the weekends they have food although I didn't try anything on the menu this go around. Because I was driving, I got a half pour of their local red using carbonic fermentation. Chatting with the server, I realized that this was just what I needed: a calming respite from walking around while savoring a delicious glass of red. They have a wine membership with two options at $60 for two bottles or $150 for three bottles a month. Lovely concept and space, will be back for sure!

This hidden gem offers an experience that's unlike anything else in the city. The setup is simple but charming: you literally walk up to a window and order your wine. I believe it's one ring for white, two for red, and three or four for sparkling--don't quote me on that, but it adds a playful, old-world vibe that makes the whole experience memorable. The Wine Window is affordable, laid-back, and surprisingly quaint. It's the kind of place where the ambiance, the people, and the energy make it feel more like an experience within an experience--not just a drink stop. I had the chance to chat with John, the owner, who shared a bit of the backstory. He previously owned a full wine room nearby, but when the pandemic hit, he had to pivot. Instead of calling it quits, he leaned into a smaller, more intimate concept inspired by wine windows in Europe. Honestly, I think the scale makes it even better. The outdoor patio is perfect for relaxing with a glass of wine while people-watching on L Street, and yes, there's even a restroom available (a rare but very appreciated amenity for this type of setup). If you find yourself downtown, do yourself a favor--swing by The Wine Window, have a chat with John, and enjoy a unique Sacramento experience.
