I tried the Cave de la Cote Chasselas which was a very light refreshing start. It reminded me of a soft Sauvignon blanc. I followed with Vin de Days, Maurer Red Fruit November and finished with La Miche Cab Sav. While not quite a fan of the RFN, I did enjoy the La Miche for its savoriness- a perfect dinner pairing wine. Before heading out for my next adventure, I decided to do a glass of the Alta Colina Downslope Red and finish a few chapters of my book. I don't know how to accurately describe wines- but my version, again savory and hearty but not heavy- another good wine for a nice meaty dinner. (Bearing in mind, of course, that I'm also no pairing expert!) Ever After has a unique offering of wines and I look forward to popping in again with some friends! This adorable place is a such a gem!!!! Came here on a Sunday with my girlfriend for some wine and small bites!! Nadia helped us out and was so sweet and knowledgeable of all the wines! If you loop around you should be able to find a spot though. The actual space is so cute and perfect for a date, or a night out with friends. They have a nice variety of wine options as well as great food options to pair with them. I finally visited Ever After Winery, and I was NOT disappointed. First off, I really love the vibe of this place. It's bright, welcoming, and has plenty of seating and bar space to sit down and chat with friends. The staff was super friendly and had no issue with me bringing in outside food. Even though the bar was full, they still went out of their way to get me a chair so I didn't have to stand, huge plus! Even though I brought food with me, there was no way I was going to deprive myself of their summer specials. On the menu, they had Aguachile which had shrimp with avocado, red onion, and cucumber served with a side of tostadas. All I can say is WOW. It instantly reminded me of ceviche and was absolutely delicious. As for the wine, they had a fantastic selection of both local and international bottles. I only had a single glass this time. The only "issue" I had with this place is that I wish it were bigger because I could have easily spent all evening here. I came here for a private event and got to sample 5 of their wines and a few appetizers. The tartine appetizer with ricotta and bread was amazing. They had other appetizers such as hummus/charcuterie that were also very good but the whipped ricotta was my favorite. The wines themselves were enjoyable. I came here with my girlfriend on a Thursday evening, after she'd come here a couple times prior with different friends. Each time, including when we came in, Ever After Wine had different attractions coming on. During their Valentine's Day special, my girlfriend told me Ever After partnering with a tattoo artist. To give patrons small Valentine's Day tattoos. Apparently it was a pretty big hit and the tattoo artist was busy the entire time. During our visit, their was a wine tasting menu where you could try 3 select wines for a certain price. There was also winery owner, showcasing some of his wines for customers. My girlfriend had that and I had the Blood Orange Sparkling Drink since I'm not a wine drinks. And we both shared several of the small bites from the menu at the bar area. The ambiance at Ever After is very nice. Nice and quiet as least the evening that we were there, but still filled with light conversation over drinks and food. There's also a nice quant swag area to the far side of the entrance by the front window. Where you can pickup bottle of wine to go, or Ever After Wine themed souvenirs. Disclaimer: Before reading this lengthy review, I suggest pouring yourself a glass of your favorite wine. Not to date myself (2002ish), but I can remember the days when I was a teenager speeding through a fairly newly incorporated Elk Grove that had tons of undeveloped land and very little culture. Fast forward 22 years later, (time has wings) a lot of the land has been occupied with new homes and businesses, and you can find food from a myriad of cultures. With the growth of the city, it seems like new businesses are opening at a fast rate. Therefore, I was excited when I read an article months ago about a new wine bar called Ever After Wine coming to Elk Grove. You may be saying "what makes this wine bar unique in comparison to the other local wine bars?" Ever After Wine offers low intervention wine aka natural wine that is fermented without additives. Being that I work in public health, this was immediately a selling point and I couldn't wait to take my wife on a date so that we could experience what they had to offer. Upon entering the wine bar, we were simultaneously greeted by the euphoric sound of laughing patrons and by co-owner Nadia. Even though the establishment was busy, she quickly made her way over to our table, introduced herself, and gave us a brief overview of the food and drink menu. Our first selection was glasses of the La Volta Lambrusco imported from Italy. Although it was a chilly night, the Lambrusco was very refreshing and not overly sweet. In between sips we took in the snug ambiance (where were places like this when my wife and I started dating?!) and people watched from the nearby window. Nadia was very attentive and did a great job of checking in with us during our visit. Unlike some wine rooms that we have visited (I will not name any names) that simply pour the wine of your selection, Nadia gave a little background of each wine and pointed out some of her personal favorites from the menu. For our next order, we chose glasses of the Margarethenhof Elbling Der Spritzige Nicolas Weber imported from Germany (not listed on the menu). Being fans of sparkling wine, we loved it! Overall, we enjoyed our experience at Ever After Wine. Nadia is very personable and makes you feel as if you're a guest experiencing an in-home wine tasting. Both selections of wine were delicious, so delicious that we tasted the last bottles of both options (don't worry I'm sure that they will be restocked soon). Oh my goodness this place is just so freaking adorable. We had chosen this place to come celebrate our friends 50th birthday and we were so happy to have chosen this place to do this mini celebration. For it only been open for a short amount of time the space was decorated very nicely and it gave you a homie vibe but still maintain the upscale atmosphere of a potential winery tasting room. I really enjoyed the shelf on the left hand side as you walked in that displayed the different wines that were available it just looks so neat that the wine was given the illusion of floating with the shelves. While we were there we all got the wine tasting and it was nice that we could all select the types of Wyoming wanted to enjoy. For context, know that these wines are on a rotation so though you might like something the day you go it may not be on tap or available to pour the next time you go so if you like it make sure to buy some while you're there. The wines that we tasted were very nice delicate on the palate with some very fruit forward with others and overall a nice blend of flavors as you continue throughout the tasting. We paired our wine tasting with the torched burrata and the meat and cheese plate. For real that torch burrata was something else I had never experienced burrata in that style before and it was superb especially the accompaniments that came with it. Also the different cheeses especially the goat cheese that came with our plate was superb creamy with a little bit of tanginess I want It by a block of that thing. And lastly the owners of the wine bar were there and were so gracious with their time with us. They would ever so often come chat with us talk to us about what we were doing, about our day, and give us just tidbits about the wines and the space and themselves. So excited to have had that time with them and wish them the utmost success with this beautiful place. We are definitely looking forward to other events that they will be doing. One suggestion, if it can happen, is that the space has a lot of bare walls right now it would be amazing to get local artists to put their artwork up there that you could potentially have people buy. read more

I was scouring the Internet for a venue that could hold a group of 18 members of my bridal party and found this local wine bar with the most perfect name to celebrate love. I was in contact with one of the owners, Nadia and she was absolutely amazing and kept getting everything organized. What's great is that before our event she called if we wanted to put the tables together to make it more of an intimate dining experience and it was the most perfect venue to gather and get to know each other before the big day. I would highly recommend going with ever after wine to hold your next event because you can bring outside food and they have a food and beverage minimum which can easily be met by drinking all of their delicious wines. Whenever we have to travel for work, we always look for a local wine bar to check out and for our recent trip to Elk Grove, it was Ever After. I have mixed feelings about it because I'm so happy to have discovered this local spot, but sad that it's way too far for us to visit regularly. The wine bar is located in a shopping center near the Elk Grove Blvd/99 junction. Parking is super plentiful, which was great. The space is really open and bright, with a beautiful long, L-shaped bar counter and a few tables as well. In addition to a pretty extensive BTG list, there's a small retail wall (maybe 25-30 labels) where you can purchase wines to go or to drink at the bar. What they focus on are wines made in a low intervention style with organic grapes - how wines used to be made! In terms of offerings, you're not going to find common wines that are poured at other restaurants in the area so if Rombauer Chardonnay is your jam, you're likely never going to see that at Ever After. That being said, you should still stop in because you just need to let the owners know what kinds of wines you enjoy and they'll definitely have something that you'll enjoy just as much, but probably more than that Rombauer. The wine selection is pretty diverse and unique. There are wines from countries that you'll hardly ever see at a retail shop or on a wine list, and varietals most of us have never even heard of. It can be a little scary to see so little you recognize, but the staff are so great at explaining to you what it's like in terms of style and even letting you have a little sample to see if you like it. So don't be intimidated - it's a super chill, relaxing, unpretentious environment where you can not only go to enjoy a nice glass of wine, but also learn a lot about how amazingly unique wine can be from all over the world. Highly recommend stopping in and supporting this new, local wine bar and looking forward to another trip out to the area so we can stop in again. read more

I enjoyed the vibe, service and snack menu offerings but not so much the wine. It's in the shopping center on the corner of East Stockton and Elk Grove. Tons of parking with all the places to visit. This place offers local wines that are barreled in stainless steel. I failed at getting names but darn the woman working the bar was great. She explained the menu after noticing it was our first time! We talked about my alcohol allergy and laughed about me still willing to experiment lol. We did the flight i got 2,3,4,6 my fav of my flight was 2 i believe it's their updated wine from Sonoma. The others i wasn't too interested. But the atmosphere was relaxing and enjoyable. We basically had the place to ourselves so easily able to talk laugh and listen to the good music they had playing. The chef there was very accommodating though I forgot his name and it was great. I wanted the flight, but it wasn't available. I think there was a couple of people in there. However, when another group of women came in the flight was available they may have came in maybe 1520 minutes after me the ambience is amazing like you go in there and that it would be good for girlfriends. It's a great concept but my first visit was just okay. The staff aren't super friendly or welcoming. We were pretty much served our wine and food and left alone for the most part. I had a wine flight, but the server didn't really share any information on the wines I was trying. No offers to refill our water. Two others in our group opted for a glass of wine and we were surprised by the small pour. For the price it seems that you get more when trying a flight vs ordering a single glass of wine. Food portions are small, it's more like appetizers and small bites but its pricey for what you get. I'm not sure I'll visit again only because I didn't like any of the wines. My daughter Sara treated me to a Mothers Day event, "Bubbles and Blooms" at Ever After Wines, a chic new wine bar in Elk Grove. We were greeted by Nadia, one of the owners and given menus. I was impressed because a few weeks prior, Nadia remembered that she sold my daughter a wine she thought I would like (I did BTW). My daughter opted to try a sparkling wine flight, I opted to try a flight of four wines, mostly white wines as that's what I like.
