First the good: The drinks were excellent. The beers are from local and/or well known international brands so it was a pleasure to drink. The cocktails are all whimsical and delicious. Each cocktail is unique and made strong so well worth the higher prices. The food is great. We had the risotto chicken caprice and the haus burger made medium rare. Both plates were satisfying and well made. The chicken was juicy and the risotto was cooked perfectly. The burger was flavorful and filling. The ambience in the restaurant was really nice. It's a community/semi private setting. We didn't mind it. The building is a historical building so inside was really special. The service speed was excellent. Food came out fast, drinks came out fast, and service was attentive. A++ Now on to the part that felt off: Server provided the check and the tip was preset to 25%....i almost signed off and realized wait, that's a whole $30 dollars more. So I set the custom tip to 15% as my usual and paid. I didn't like that preset part. Overall a good experience. Just a small mixup that didn't take away from the experience. I will say, it's pricey so expect to pay a good amount for two people. Expect triple digits for 4 drinks and two entrees.

We came for a little Mother's Day brunch and the food was delicious, the service was great, and eating on the little patio outside was lovely. They don't have gluten free bread options, but have several gluten-free dishes like the pork and veggie skillet. So good! My family loved the giant pretzel and the French toast. We will be back!

Wonderful little beer hall. Attentive and friendly service. The big bench style seats are awesome. You can fit big groups easily. The beer selection was nice. They had Chimay on tap so that was really nice. The happy hour Pilsner was also pretty good and very big! The big pretzel was also pretty tasty. The fries were good and half off during happy hour. I will definitely be back to try the food and update.

Headline: Prost to Prost! Service: I have visited Prost on numerous occasions for drinks, catering, and rental of their back room. Throughout all my interactions with the staff they have been amazing from event planning to day of service Prost has gone above and beyond. When I got there for drinks, I have always enjoyed my trip. Food has been on point and have enjoyed the cocktails that they offer. I like to try out their specials and have found some new drinks that I enjoy more often Location: Prost is located on Elk Grove Blvd in Old Town Elk Grove. They do have a parking lot next to them as well another parking lot across the street next to the coffee shop. Sometimes it can be busy but I haven't had to ever travel very far for parking. Of course as popular as this place is, it can get LOUD but I consider that a positive and I have been able to get a place to seat everytime. They also have an outside patio in the front that I havent tried yet but the street doesnt get too loud. Food/Drink: The cocktails at this place are on point! I know this place calls itself a beer hall but quite honestly I spend most of my time drinking cocktails at this place. Having used this place as catering, I have also tried almost everything one the menu atleast once. Shout out to the Jager Fries, Croquettes, and the Haus Old Fashioned!

Sauerkraut on the side for me. Great cheesy fries!

Thanks Noah for great service on a Friday night. The beer recommendations were great! The fries were good but also quite heavy and FULLLLLL of cheese. So be prepared and I recommend sharing it with someone. Careful folks the LARGE beer size is legit HUGE. I got the regular size.

My rate is a 4.5 stars. This is the place to go if you want to try German food. The food and service is pretty good. The staff are friendly. They serve lunch and dinner everyday and brunch on the weekends. Brunch starts at 10am. They have a happy hour, I'm not sure on the hours, I think it's 3pm - 5pm. I'm not sure on the start time, but I do know it ends at 5pm. Parking, is street parking, that I know. I did ask their parking situation. They said there is parking on the side alley and a public parking lot down the way. I'm not sure. I would have to look for it. The times that we came here, we tried the ribs, Prost burger, pork schnitzel, French fries, cottage pie, and the apple strudel. The ribs tasted good, but maybe a just a little bit dry. The ribs did have good flavor. The burger was good, but was a bit overly salty. It was juicy and cooked well. I really like their French Fries, but again, there was a lot of salt on them. The fries were crispy, not oily, had a good firmness, good amount of potato in one stick, fresh, and hot. I'm not a fan of skinny fries, those aren't fries. I like their crispy and potatoes. We really liked their schnitzel and cottage pie. Both tasted really good. The cottage pie was a ground beef stew with carrots and peas, with a bed of mash potatoes on top. The stew was full of flavor. It was so nice to have on a rainy day. The only thing that threw me off was that the mashed potatoes were room temp. I was thinking it would be hot. Maybe, they did it that way to hold its shape for the design on top. It was still good, though. The stew part was hot, so I dipped the potatoes in the stew to heat it up. The apple strudel dessert was pretty good too. It was a little warm with fresh whipped cream. Our experiences here, were all pretty good. I would like to come back and try their brunch.

One of my friends recommended this place for their hamburger. My wife loves a good hamburger so we tried it out. The place is in old Elk Grove and the street is really busy. I didn't see that they had their own parking lot. There is a lot next door but I thought it was another business' . We got a spot on the street close to the place anyway. It's a two story building. There are steps to get inside but they do have a ramp on the side. Inside we were greeted and they sat us at a table up front. The place is a good size. There was another table with a large group in the corner. It has a long bar to the left and a row of really big tables for large groups. Thus the beer hall name. I didn't go to the back but they were having a sewing or crochet glass in the back which was unique. I am not sure if the upstairs is theirs's too. The waitress came up to us and I told her that we have never been here and what was good to order. She recommended the Haus plate, Haus burger and the pretzel. The wife got the burger. She got it with the potato salad. The burger was good but they over salted it. The potato salad wasn't her favorite it had something in it that gave it a weird flavor, plug it was a bit dry. I got the Haus plate, with pork Schnitzel , mashed potatoes and Jager gravy. You could of got the buttered Spatzle as a choice. I loved the Schnitzel. It was cooked perfectly and great flavor. Loved the gravy and it made the plate. The sauerkraut was yummy to. We ordered some fries and they were crispy and perfect. I had the cherry BBQ ribs. It came with four ribs. The flavor was great but I thought it was a little over cooked. It wasn't fall off the bone kind. All in all I really liked this place and the food. The server was really friendly and attentive. So we will come here again.

I'm gonna put a lot of the blame on myself for this one. My friends and I were leaving an event and looking for a spot nearby to grab food. I found this place on Yelp and figured we'd give it a try. Where I messed up was not checking out the menu ahead of time.... turns out the food just wasn't what we were in the mood for. That said, the inside was kind of a vibe. They had a trivia event going on, which was a cool touch, but the audio wasn't great so it was hard to really enjoy it. The service was okay.. they were kinda busy, and to be honest, we kind of stuck out like a sore thumb. It didn't exactly feel like the most welcoming atmosphere, but we made the best of it. We ordered a few things, and out of everything we tried, the pretzel was definitely the standout. That thing was bomb. Will I be back? Probably not. It just wasn't my type of spot. But if this is your kind of food or scene, it might be worth checking out.

I stopped in right before happy hour during the week. I did have to park a ways since it's only street parking. Place was very clean & lot of seating. I ordered drinks while I waited for the happy hour prices to kick in for food to save a few bucks. Service was attentive & allowed me to try a few samples of cider & beer before making my selection. 10/10 - Croquettes: these were addicting! I ended up order 2 orders because they were sooooo yummy. I'd come back just for these. 7/10 - Sausage in a Bun with Jager Fries: I opted for a bratwurst sausage which had a nice bite, but the mustard seed did overpower the flavors of the bratwurst; I upgraded to jager fries which were okay in flavor, nothing special. The gravy had canned mushrooms instead of using fresh mushrooms. 7/10 - Reuben: corned beef was a thick slice which was different; overall this was just okay.

Fabulous beer hall with gourmet food and stellar beer. Large tables with benches are family-style and kid-friendly and can get quite boisterous and loud. Adults-only bar area is separate. Food is incredible! Service is excellent. Such a gem.

We came with a small group of five to catch up with some friends visiting from out of town. It was our first experience at Prost, and we had really been looking forward to coming in. There's street parking, and we were able to find some spots a bit further down on School Street. One of our group members was able to get a table for us and we ended up at one of the larger round tables. The space is pretty open and had bar seating as well as table seating. We learned that they were celebrating their two year anniversary which was fun, and they had some deals on certain beers, cocktails, merch and pretzels. Unfortunately, they didn't have their full food menu available but we ended up ordering a couple pretzels and their fries. The service was a bit slow, and we had a couple minor miscommunications throughout our experience- nothing big, just an incorrectly sized drink and a little extra time waiting on the food items. It was a special event day, so I'd have to visit again to see what the norm is. The pretzels we ordered with a good size and very tasty, they also give you plenty of beer cheese. We did enjoy the beer cheese better mixed with mustard though. The fries were a nice cut and crispy too. The beer was cold and delicious- they offer it in 10oz, 16oz and a liter as options. We were accidentally given a 10oz instead of 16oz originally and the 10 oz is such a little baby pour- it was adorable. I would stop in again when they're offering the full menu to check it out.

We absolutely needed to try their pretzel and it did not disappoint! I've had this place bookmarked for a long time and finally got the chance to stop by for lunch. We were here on a Thursday afternoon and got there right when they opened. The server/hostess was very nice and sat us at a bigger table because my grandma needed the space. The restaurant is super cute and I very much loved the decor and furniture style! We ordered the pretzel, two salads with grilled chicken and the jager fries with the gravy on the side. Everything was fresh and delicious. The beer cheese with the pretzel was mine and my grandma's favorites! Would love to come back for dinner and beer.

Do you have gluten free options on the menu?

you'd have to ask for specifics and they can customize

    Do you offer outdoor seating?

Hi Aaron, Yes we do. We currently have 3 patio tables, but that will be growing by summertime.

What time is the dinner menu served?

Our dinner menu starts at 4:00.

What are the hours? Are they closed Monday and Tuesday, which is what maps says, or just Monday?

    Currently just closed on Mondays.

I hear the food is good, can I take my family(including kids) to dinner here or is there an age limit?

There is no age limit and it's kid friendly.

    Is there a parking lot?

There is on-street parking, parking lot across the street and a parking lot by the railroad tracks. All within walking distance.

Do you have outdoor seating and is it dog-friendly ? Thanks!

Hello, We do have a patio but it is self service. We are dog friendly outside…as long as the dog is “human friendly” 😁

How can you make a reservation?

Not at this time. It is first come, first served they said when I called.

Do you have a phone number for reservations?

    They don't take reservations.

Do you open on Saturdays at 11 or noon?

Hi Dana, We open at 11:00 on Saturdays.

I hear Prost is reservation only? Is this true?

Hi John, We accept walk-in as well as reservations, so please stop in anytime. For parties of 6 or more, I recommend reservations but they are definitely not required.

When can I stop by to give you a seal of German approval?

We are open from 12:00-9:00 and would love to get your seal of approval. Prost

Upon arrival, we were greeted by a full parking lot...which is always a good sign. Upon entering what we thought was the Velvet Martini Lounge, we were greeted by an employee named Matt. Matt was very friendly and understanding when he realized that we intended on being in the Velvet Martini Lounge, not the Sheldon Inn Restaurant. He went above and beyond by introducing us to an employee who worked at the Velvet Martini Lounge and escorted us upstairs to the lounge. Upon being seated at the lounge, we were greeted by server James, who provided us with menus. Our sole purpose was to connect solely over adult beverages, so we both placed orders for drinks. My wife ordered the Big Shot Martini with blue cheese stuffed olives, and I ordered the Havana Haze (a rum-based drink). As we slowly sipped our drinks, we enjoyed our date night in the dimly lit, romantic ambience of the lounge. The background music was played at a perfect volume to where you could hear the music as equally as you could hear the individual(s) talking at your table. James did a great job of not being a "helicopter server" by periodically checking in on us. We intended on ordering a second round, but the drinks were so deliciously stiff (a sneaky stiff) that we decided it would be a wise decision to end the night. I cannot wait to make a return visit to celebrate one of our monthly anniversaries, I recommend checking out Velvet Martini Lounge!

The espresso martini was the best cocktail out of the 3 we ordered and we were glad we got it to redeem the other drinks. There was a good amount of people here, some out celebrating birthdays, some on dates, and some tables of friends just hanging out and having food and drinks. There was also an outdoor area from the restaurant below which seemed to have a nice dinner setting. I would say the velvet martini is worth coming by if you're in the area and looking for drinks, but it is in a much more secluded area.

I was ready to leave if they said no (completely understand) however, the staff here is absolutely incredible and so kind! She warned us about the wait in the kitchen so I was prepared for the delays due to the busy valentines dinner rush. It took about 25 minutes to get a table (not bad at all). As we waited, we grabbed a drink at the bar... it took the entire 25 minutes to make our drinks. But at least we had our drinks for dinner. Once we ordered our food it took about 45-50 minutes (no problem.. I'm pretty easy going and she warned us) My issue was after patiently waiting for my food, it needed to be returned twice! I rarely return food.. I ordered a chicken club (Chicken Club Sandwich Grilled chicken breast, served on a garlic butter roll with pesto aioli, white cheddar cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomatoes Make it crispy) YUM right? No... it's not what I got. I got a chicken sandwich with thousand island dressing (nasty) pickles, BLT. Onion. When I got it the first time, the waiter quickly apologized and took it back to be fixed. Again, the servers are amazing!! Another 15 minutes later (after everyone else half finished eating) I got my new order..... it was the same but on a different bread. I thought I was going crazy and had to look at the menu 20 minutes thinking I messed up... the waitress reassured me that the kitchen messed up again. Our waitress wanted to fix it but I cancelled my order as I was eating everyone else's fries at the table and didn't really want to wait any longer. Oh on top of it, they also served me a rare French fry with my second incorrect meal :(. I do have to say the ranch is delicious and the salmon burger was perfection!!!!! The shrimp scampi could use some more sauce. Otherwise I won't let this stop me from coming back one more time as I'm hoping this was a one off.
