Station 16 never ceases to amaze me. My family and I have celebrated so many special milestones here, including Mother's Day, my son's graduation dinner, and most recently his 19th birthday. The Cajun pasta is always delicious and one of my favorites! Unfortunately, our most recent visit was disappointing. Our spinach artichoke dip was served with completely stale chips, and it took about 30 minutes to receive replacements. By then, the dip was no longer warm. My Cajun chicken pasta was also mistakenly served with shrimp after I requested no shrimp, so I had to wait for my meal to be remade while the rest of my party ate. The staff did apologize and correct the mistakes, which I appreciated, and the handwritten birthday card for my son was such a thoughtful touch. Station 16 is still one of our favorite places to celebrate, but I hope they improve their attention to food quality and order accuracy because the experience this time did not live up to the many wonderful visits we've had in the past. read more

I've been to this place a handful of times now, and after my most recent visit, I finally felt compelled to leave a review. I wanted to give this restaurant multiple chances before making a judgment because I know they were still finding their footing when they first opened. My first visit was disappointing. The service wasn't great, and neither was the food. Since they had just opened, I decided to give them another shot. My second and third visits were much better, with attentive service and quality food. Unfortunately, things became inconsistent after that. On later visits, service started slipping, and some dishes were overly salty. This last visit was by far the worst. My family was visiting from Southern California, and they chose this restaurant. From the start, our server was largely absent and probably checked on our table only once. My sister and I ordered drinks, and after waiting an unusually long time, we had to follow up ourselves, only to realize the bartender hadn't even started making them. My brother ordered the lobster and steak, and the lobster arrived practically raw. I ordered the shrimp scampi, and the shrimp tasted freezer-burned and anything but fresh. It was incredibly disappointing. A manager did ask if they could make it right and give us dessert or another entree which I declined. They did take care of our drinks and entrees which was nice, but I would've rather had a great experience especially since my family were visiting and we were celebrating my nephews graduations and my daughter's birthday. At this point, I don't see myself returning. The inconsistency in both the food and service is just too much for me. It's especially disappointing because my husband and I used to visit the downtown location all the time, and it was always so good. This is a tough one. I have been here 5 times now and have really enjoyed the food each time. We have had some amazing experiences in the past. This lead us to invite my father-in-law here for an early Father's Day lunch. We were sat quickly and then the waiting began. Our server who will not be named was initially quick to take our drink order. We each ordered a drink and were constantly surprised at the amount of time it took to get our drinks. I looked at the bar and saw our drinks waiting there. After maybe 8-10 minutes without anyone checking on us my wife went to the bar to ask about our drinks. Those were indeed our watered down drinks. My beer was cold and one of us never got their drink. The food arrived and it was quite good. I really enjoyed my meal and would recommend the Cajun pasta to everyone. The bill finally came several minutes after our table was cleared. The server stood directly over my wife as she selected the top among. The 20% selection had already been highlighted. My wife felt obligated to keep it that way as she was being watched. 5 star experience with bonus bonus bonus stars for their treatment on the eve of Mother's Day. Service was great. Our server was attentive and kind, food came out very quickly. Our server also confirmed we had a mom at our table and brought out a rose to celebrate her! She felt so special and thought that Station 16 doing this act of kindness was above and beyond. They dimmed the lights around 7 which was a nice touch, this is a great spot for nice dinners with friends/family or a date night. We had cocktails and mocktails which were refreshing and they had a lot of unique options. I initially held off eating here because I thought it was a seafood restaurant but once I saw the menu I realized there are TONS of food options even without seafood. I'm so thankful I booked our dinner here and we will definitely be recommending and coming back. This was my first time at the Elk Grove location. My previous experiences have been at the downtown location. The ambience was great! As a frequent customer of the sports bar that occupied this location prior to Station 16 taking over, there definitely were major improvements done to the space and the outdoor patio is now so elegant and secluded, yet brings more vibrancy next to the plaza. We dined on the patio. Our server was amazing, attentive, and took great care to ensure my food allergies were accommodated so I could enjoy more items from the menu. As someone with a citrus allergy, eating out is tough because every place I go, especially bars, has citrus as part of 90% of their drinks or dishes. The patio was comfortable and made us forget we're only 5 minutes from our house! My daughter ordered the seasonal bass, which she devoured and loved. The truffle fries were plentiful and delicious, without the overpowering of truffle oils I find from other places. The crab cakes were good, but I'm sure they would be better if my citrus allergy didn't require the absence of the citrus slaw. The chef replaced it with an undressed spring mix salad amd pickled red onions. The Airline chicken crust was delicious with the hints of mustard sauce beneath. However, the chicken itself was rather dry. This also could be to the kitchen being backed up and the cooking time for the potatoes from both our dishes also held up our orders. My Lavender drink was delicious and I almost ordered a second, but it was getting late and bar became very busy by that time. We came in at 7:15 and were checked out by 9 p.m., so even with the delay with our main course, it was still a relaxed and enjoyable dinner during a reasonable amount of time. Came here to celebrate my birthday and didn't have a reservation, so we ended up waiting about 45 mins and got seated outside. Servers were nice, but service was definitely on the slower side. Food took a while, and they didn't check in on us much. Also, it was pretty dark outside, so we had to ask for a table lamp... which helped for a bit until it died But they did bring out free ice cream for my birthday with a huge candle, which was cute and made up for some of it! I've been here before so I kinda knew what to expect, but it was my parents' first time. The calamari was crispy and not oily, good size too, but the batter itself didn't have much flavor. You definitely need the sauces. I got my usual Cajun pasta, and I normally love it, but this time it was REALLY salty for some reason. Like... had to keep drinking water the whole time salty. Not sure what happened there. Funnily, my mom got the shrimp scampi and said it was kinda bland. She said it just needed more salt and maybe some spice. At least the shrimp wasn't fishy though. My dad got the steak and lobster combo and he actually liked it a lot. Had a reservation for 9PM and ended up calling before I arrived to make sure that happy hour was served only in the dining room or just the bar side. I was presented with answer of "happy hour starts at 10 since we don't bring out appetizers until then" I asked the hostess over the phone to clarify as their website stated happy hour starts at 9PM. The hostess stated that that they close off the section for happy hour at 10. Not sure what section as I've never been there before. Still ended up arriving right before a 9pm reservation. Was greeted by a hostess and seated immediately. Our server was nice but not very talkative which is fine. Was asked if we've been here before and we confirmed if happy hour starts at 9pm and if we're allowed to order it where we are seated as it wasn't clear what was the dining area or bar area as it all looked combined. Our server confined HH starts at 9pm and yes to ordering anywhere. We started with a few appetizers such as crab cakes, oyster shooters and calamari. And we ended up sharing an entree which was the Cajun pasta. For drinks was a classic margarita and a lavender French. Food wise, the crab cakes came with a small side salad but the crab cakes were very thick yet the breading wasn't fully covered. It could've been a lot more crisper if it was either seared a little longer or thinner to give it a nice crust. The salad had little to no dressing. Discovered the dressing that had a splash in the middle center pile of the salad. The calamari was good. I personally would prefer it more crispier as I'm still searching for the best calamari in California. It came with a cocktail sauce and lemon aioli sauce. The lemon aioli sauce was far more superior than the cocktail sauce which tasted more watered down. The oysters shooters were good. Fresh, rich and not salty. Did not come with Tabasco sauce as we did have to ask for it on the side. The Cajun pasta was by far the best dish of the night. Spicy with a nice kick! That pasta alone with be the only reason I would come back to dine here. The dish came with pasta, prawns, sausage, spinach all covered in this garlic tomato chili sauce. A solid 9/10 for me. Drinks were good. The margarita tasted a bit watered down. The lavender French tasted refreshing. The restaurant itself is beautiful. Dimly lit, good for date nights, friends and family gathers, full bar and plaza parking as well. Only thing I would suggest is bigger taller water glasses as we had to wait around for a bit to get refills a few times. For dessert we had a crème brûlée. 7/10. Tasted very lukewarm. I recently came here for Happy Hour with a couple of friends, and unfortunately the food and service didn't quite live up to the experience I remember from my last visit. It may have been because it was Happy Hour and it was fairly busy. We were seated outside, and there were several times when it took a while for our waitress to come by the table and longer to get the check. It would have been nice to have someone check in on us within a more reasonable timeframe. The food was just okay this time around. Clam Steamers - 3/5: They were okay. Oysters - 4/5: Fresh and enjoyable. Artichoke Spinach Dip - 3/5: The dip was a bit saltier than expected, and the chips tasted slightly stale. Sangria - 4/5: Refreshing and enjoyable. If you're visiting during the colder months, I recommend arriving early if you'd like to sit inside, where the ambiance is much cozier. Came tonight. Harper was our server was Harper. We came here but on Valentine's Day and Synthia was our server. She was freaking amazing. And Harper tonight was top noch!! Station 16 is located in a bigger shopping center just off the Freeway on Elkgrove Blvd. Admittably, it was kind of hard to find the entrance, the parking is horrendous and the directions into the parking lot from Apple Maps was awful. Now onto the food, service and all the goods... If you are coming with a party, they only accept 2 payments. Meaning, they aren't going to be breaking up checks for your party. They charge you $20 to bring in your own dessert, and automatic 20% gratuity for parties of 6 or more. We were a party of 12 and our birthday girl had to tell us all to bring cash. Okay. I hated that for us. Regardless, service was fantastic. The inside is super cute and the experience was fantastic. It feels very upscale for a brunch spot but they have options of all price variety which I think is super important. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food, and those of us who got alcohol were very pleased and happy with their drinks. 10/10. If not for the awful location and weird payment polices and up charging for dessert, I'd have given this place 5 stars but I think 4 is still just as good. This is a great place to eat with friends or just a date night. The atmosphere is lively and fun. Everything we tried was a hit. 1. Calamari- nicely battered and flavored, not to heavy and not too greasy 2. Parmesan truffle fries- I wanted to order another batch... but we had already ordered a lot of food but this... is probable my favorite place for truffle fries in all of Sacramento county. I LOVE fries- but I can be quite snooty about them. 3. Tuna tartar- nice and refreshing to outweigh the fried food so it was a great balance 4. King Triton Tower - definitely a shareable entree as it was plentiful and very flavorful. Although on the little pricier side of what's offered in Elk Grove, it's a great celebratory dinner for semi-special and special occasions. Came here the other night for date night and the experience definitely didn't disappoint. Ordered the absolutely delicious lobster roll with Cajun fries and was thoroughly delighted by both. The Cajun fries definitely have a spice to them that a lot of other Cajun fries don't. It caught me off guard, but it was delicious, despite the heat! It's hard to find a good lobster roll in the greater Sacramento area, and Station 16 really delivered. We also had the shrimp crostini appetizer and they were absolutely delicious! I took my girl here for her birthday, and overall we had a good experience. I really appreciated that I was able to reserve a table for two ahead of time. The hostess was very welcoming and seated us at a great corner table, which gave us some privacy and allowed us to talk without interruptions from other guests. That location definitely made the night feel more intimate. To start, I ordered an espresso martini and my girl had the French Lavender 75. Both drinks were well made. We also ordered the calamari appetizer, which was really good. For our entrées, she had the scallops and I ordered the shrimp scampi with garlic bread. The food overall was solid and flavorful. The only downside was that we felt a little rushed toward the end of the night. The waitstaff and busboys kept walking by and looking at our table, which made it seem like they were waiting for us to finish so they could clear our dishes and close up. The waitress did ask if we were celebrating a special occasion, and we let her know it was my girl's birthday. Unfortunately, they either forgot to bring out the sundae or brought it out at the very last minute. We also didn't get the staff singing "Happy Birthday." I understand we were the last ones there, but it would have been nice to still feel celebrated like other guests might have earlier in the evening. I wanted to enjoy Station 16 because the menu sounds promising and the place has the kind of comfort-food vibe that should feel satisfying. But honestly, after my visit, I left feeling disappointed. For the price, I expected the food to feel more worth it -- whether that was through portion size, flavor, quality, or the overall experience. Instead, it felt pretty average. Nothing was necessarily awful, but when you're paying restaurant prices, you expect the food and service to leave some kind of impression. For me, it didn't. What stood out even more was the service. When we were trying to order, there was a there were many people standing at the bar, but it did not seem like anyone really knew what they were doing or who was supposed to help us. It felt confusing as a customer because instead of feeling guided or welcomed. There were also moments where it looked like employees were standing around while guests could have used more attention. I understand that restaurants have busy moments, slow moments, and off days, but from a customer's point of view, it does not feel good to spend your money somewhere and feel like the effort is not matching what you paid. That is really the main issue: the experience did not feel balanced. The prices felt higher than the quality of the food and service being delivered. I do not mind paying more when the food is memorable and the staff feels engaged, but here, it felt like the restaurant has potential without the follow-through. Unfortunately, based on this experience, my family and I will not be coming back. I hope management takes a closer look at the guest experience because Station 16 could be better, but right now, I would have a hard time saying it is worth the price. read more

We had dinner on Friday night with reservations for 6:00, the hostess team was welcoming. The service here is excellent! We continuously had someone bringing drinks, refilling water and bringing the various food foods that we ordered. The food was delicious! We tried the calamari It was crisp and tender, the shrimp toast was way more delicious than I expected it to be. It was so good. I wanted to eat more. We also ordered linguine with clams, shrimp scampi, clam chowder, and baked oysters. We tasted everything and also ordered the Cajun pasta to go. The serving sizes were large and we all ended up sharing our food with each other. Everybody raved about how delicious all of the food was. This place has a great ambience... their outdoor area looked inviting, the indoor area has a bar and is upscale for Elk Grove. The decor is somewhat ostentatious in this section, but I get it. Service: Cynthia was just an amazing wait staffer who not only answered every one of our many questions, but did so with a smile and so thoroughly - very refreshing experience to have staff check in to see how things are going throughout our visit, and this includes her very professional wait assistant. Beverages: I ordered the special margarita - I was initially reluctant, but what a delight the coconut cream, lychee, lavender combo turned out to be, my date stayed with water. If I wasn't driving, I would've ordered another. Food: We split the ahi tuna salad, the shrimp crostini, and we each had an order of the clam steamers with garlic toast. The garlic noodles were delicious I give them an 8/10, they just needed more sauce, Caesar was a 5/10, it wasn't the best but definitely not the worst. The lobster roll was pretty good, it had a bit of a kick to it, I would give it a 7/10, the ribeye was cooked well. I'll say regarding service, while our server was very friendly, it did take a while for our food and others around us to receive their food. They also didn't check on us as much as they should have. We choose this restaurant en route back from Turlock one afternoon mainly for the seafood options. To know: brunch and lunch served only on Saturday and Sunday, making reservations online is helpful but not necessary and comments about the waitstaff are true-they are professional, efficient and courteous. There were about 3-4 "hostesses (?)" at the front desk who were standing around a lot, perhaps they could have helped out the wait staff- not a good look...We ordered a take out to go of clam linguine and it arrived just as we were starting our meal, this could have been timed to be received at the end of our meal. If you enjoy Brussel sprouts, you MUST order this, it is a taste delight! We also ordered the scallops ( sorry, no pic) and the ahi salad which were all delicious. Previously we ordered drinks- Jamison neat and a Tom Collin's (very refreshing!) and there were several different bartenders throughout our meal, the first Jamison neat order was a very nice pour about 2 inches yet the second was less than an inch- from a different bartender: consistency needs to be regulated. Ambiance was more "romantic" with huge bright chandeliers against black interior walls, bathroom was silver stalls adding to the black, silver motifs. Station 16 was able to accommodate our group of 20 ladies for a birthday dinner. They didn't have a big table, but they put a bunch of round tables together. It was a bit awkward, but it worked. The scallops were really good! Cooked perfectly. Tried some steak too and was also good. My husband says their apple pie was delicious! Had a good experience. I've been here about 4 times now and every time the food is amazing. Service obviously is going to be a bit better on weekdays when they aren't so busy, but they're friendly and always on top of it. The star of our recent trip however was the Strawberry milk punch, it's my favorite drink I think i've had this year. On top of that Harper and Jeremy were amazing, Jeremy was very attentive and always checking on us, and Harper was just so easy to talk to, he had great knowledge on the bar and delicious recommendations. We visited Station 16 for a late lunch/early dinner to celebrate my 30th birthday, and while our experience didn't start off on the best note, it ended wonderfully thanks to Diana O. After being seated, our initial server was largely absent. It took quite a while to receive waters, and one of the appetizers we ordered seemed to have been forgotten altogether. We felt overlooked and were starting to become disappointed. Fortunately, shortly after one of our two appetizers arrived, we were informed that Diana would be taking over our table--and from that moment on, everything changed. Diana immediately made us feel welcomed, valued, and genuinely cared for. Our waters were never empty, drinks arrived promptly, and her warm, attentive demeanor completely transformed the atmosphere of our meal. She checked in regularly without being intrusive and made sure we had everything we needed. To top it all off, she surprised me with a sparkler dessert sundae for my birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made the celebration feel special. The start to my journey here was rough due to parking being a pain at this location. Once inside, my whole mood brightened. My friend saved me a seat at the bar where we had the best bartenders. They were kind and never rushed us. They gave us tips on what great tasting drinks to order. I had the Tidal Wave which is strong and refreshing. We waited here while our table was getting prepared. Around 7 pm, the wait for a table was an hour. It went by fast! The ambiance was nice, not too loud... The lighting is dim and the seating is comfortable. I had the Cajun pasta with a side order of garlic bread . It was delicious . The pasta had a great balance of shrimp, sausage and pasta. It was spiced to perfection. I love this place so much. The ambiance and service are top notch! The food. Even better. Literally so delicious and consistent every time I come. At least in my experience. The blackened salmon paired with a white wine is chef's kiss! Their lemon pepper wings are always soooo good. It's definitely a must have. The only dessert I've had is the apple pie and that's amazing too. I know I should try more of the menu but those are always my go-to's and it's so hard to stray away from them!! Definitely love this place I'm sad the midtown location closed but the service is way better at the Elk Grove location anyway (: read more
