Came here for the set menu Mother's Day brunch . It was nice experience. The service is good I just wish we weren't seated at a table that seemed out in the open In the middle of the restaurant. We definitely want to comeback and try their actual menu to see if it's just as good .

My son & his girlfriend took me to this wonderful place for brunch for Mother's Day. We sat outside under umbrellas that kept us cool. Three course meal that I had was a peach salad with vinaigrette dressing, main meal I had was seared halibut with gnocchi, & dessert was raspberry sorbet with berries. Meals & atmosphere was fantastic.!! It was a perfect gift from my kids

This visit wasn't our first time & I'm sure it won't be our last. We had been here for my wife's birthday in the past maybe 5 years ago? It had been so long ago that it was time to revisit for dinner. They had a dinner special we took advantage of back a few months ago. I'm sorry I waited so long to write a review as it was well worth our time but life happens! It was like 2 for 85 dollars. I think my wife got the special through her email but don't quote me on that bc they didn't advertise it on their menu. We had to let our waiter know that we knew about this special btw. We ordered the fried brussel sprouts, caesar salad, Portuguese bean soup, braised shortribs & my wife had her 6 oz lobster which was cooked to perfection! They also brought us bread with butter. We were way too full by the time it was dessert despite it sitting adjacent to us! What a treat bc everything tasted delicious! Wow we are surely ready to return:-))) This restaurant's ambiance was swanky & perfect for special occasions! They even have special events once a month for entertainment if you're into live music but mainly during the summer months as it's outdoors with a cover charge. It's well worth it if you want to do something different. Yes you can have dinner here with live music! You can make it for a date night! Right??? Ok I'm sure we will...lol

We had a great experience for dinner at Sheldon Inn. There's plenty of parking. We're welcomed and seated promptly. Every server that interacted with our table was very nice and welcoming. They continued to check on us throughout and they even offered to take a picture for us. We were given a complementary photo which was a very nice surprise. The food was brought out promptly. Everything that we tried was amazing. The bread and butter was so good. They offered us more bread without hesitation. The brussel sprouts, and the calamari are a must for appetizers. I had the ribeye and it was cooked and seasoned well. We also ordered desserts. The bread pudding cake was really good as well as the berry pie à la mode. Overall great experience and great service. We were well attended throughout the night!

After our first visit, we returned to Sheldon Inn and were thrilled to find the steak quality had improved dramatically. The steak was 10 times better than our initial experience. My husband requested steak sauce just in case, but it wasn't needed! The staff's exceptional service remained consistent throughout.

I had a lovely Sunday Brunch here today with an old friend. Make sure to have a reservation because when we arrived the ladies in line in front of us did not have one and were ultimately sent to the bar to eat. Although all the tables were full, the ambiance was still classy, calm and quiet and my friend and I were able to catch up with no problem. The decor here is lovely and the seating was comfortable. We had some mimosas to start and I ordered the omlette florentine while my friend had the french toast and fried chicken. Of course when the food arrived we shared, as good friends do. The chicken was excellent and everything else was good as well. We asked for a few modifications and everything came out exactly as we requested. I think the best thing of all here is the service. Our server was Jordyn and she was amazing. Everyone was very professional and helpful and we never felt rushed. This would be an excellent choice for a romantic dinner or date as well.

I recently celebrated my birthday here and can highly recommend it for food, ambiance and events. As I assumed it would be a warm evening i reserved a table for 10 outdoors. Of course a few people weren't able to make it so it ended up being 7 of us. I had dropped off my cake , flowers, candles balloons and brought two bottles of champagne for corkage . Everything looked lovely when we arrived however I wish they had a table cloth on the black iron table. The service was polite and professional and the hostess was super sweet. Most importantly the food was delicious and everyone seemed pleased with their food. I have a tough crowd to please. My chimicurri flank steak was delicious. I am surprised that living in Elk Grove all of these years I am not sure why I had never eaten here before? However after such a grear experience and delicious food I will definitely return.

Wow! The amount of times I have driven past this gem on Grant Line... countless. Came here to celebrate my parent's 30th anniversary. They had their names on a printed menu for our table to recognize their anniversary, took a complementary picture and put it in a cute frame. Nice touch! More of a fancier vibe (they give you warm hand towels at the end of your dinner). The bar area is more causal for sure. Definitely a spot to come if you're celebrating a special occasion. Service was really great overall. Food was amazing. We got the ribeye, the salmon, and the fried chicken (not on the regular menu it's the Tuesday special), calamari to start, and finished with a slice of cheesecake. Everything was flavorful and came out hot. The mashed potatoes had a bacon gravy that was to die for. Ribeye was cooked a perfect medium. The green beans were crunchy and garlicky. If you're looking to treat yourself or loved ones, check out the Sheldon Inn!

We enjoyed an excellent Sunday brunch here a couple months ago. Food was delicious! My wife had the crab cakes Benedict, her mother the French toast and fried chicken, and I the chuck burger, substitute real bacon for the bacon jam. Everything was quite tasty and extremely satisfying. Service was good. Ambiance was wonderful, an elegant and stylishly decorated restaurant.

10oz Lobster Tail with Truffled Mashed Potatoes. The Lobster was cooked perfect and the Mashed Potato's complimented the dish.

Made Reservations for a New Year's Eve dinner and was NOT disappointed!! The atmosphere was amazing as was the energy of our server Mia and staff. They were quick, friendly, and seemed happy to see us. We were seated on the second floor which we did ask for and it was very clean and welcoming. They had a 3 course dinner with some great options. The food tasted Delicious but one side really stood out. This was the Broccolini. I'm not a huge broccoli fan but this was so good! We will definitely be back for their Holiday Dinners if they continue to offer them. I'm so Grateful for all the employees who took the time away from their families to show up and make this a beautiful experience for everyone.

I love this place. Still an hidden gem in my eyes, but we love coming here for special occasions. They really go out of their way to acknowledge the special event by personalizing the top of the menu (see photo). We wanted something a little more casual so we reserved the bar. As always, the food was fantastic. burger was nicely done and the steak was delicious and cooked as requested. We also had the calamari & zucchini appetizer which was a great way to start the meal. The service was friendly and Ryan the bartender was attentive and engaging. All in all, one of the great hidden gems in the greater Sacramento area.

Cute outside area during summer.

Came here with my family, we sat outside and it was slightly hot, not too bad as they had misters. It was just before sunset and the view was gorgeous. The mosquitoes were unforgiving and so were the flies. The service was subpar. As we ordered there were things forgotten and reminded of more than once. For starters we got crab cakes -- nothing great, I've had better. My father and I ordered prime rib, my son ordered salmon and my sister had gotten the ribeye steak. I asked for au jus as it seemed like there had not been any dressing on the prime rib. The waitress asked if the au jus on my prime rib wasn't enough, so I was surprised there was any at all. When she came back with the au jus, the flavor was not what I expected. Not bad but not great. My father agreed. My son did not like the salmon, but my sister said the steak wasn't bad at all. There was nothing that really amazed us. My father did not like the service and although I did not think it was that bad overall, we will most likely not be coming back. My sister had also left her purse there outside, the next day the restaurant was closed and she still found it outside hanging on the chair.

Food: SUPERB. Everything was cooked perfectly and seasoned extremely well. I have no complaints about the appetizers or entrees. The dessert was delicious, however, I think the creme brûlée could've been fresher. Service: Amazing. Our server was attentive and he was kind. (He was an Asian man, I forgot his name!) but he deserves recognition for going above and beyond in his service. He went over specials, made recommendations for things we can switch out, and all in all, added positivity to our experience, which led to the 5 stars. Ambiance: super cute establishment. I absolutely loved the decor and how classy it is inside. What a beautiful place for a date night, celebration, or friends get together. I can't wait to return!

It is a classic old building, with loads of charm. We were seated in the bar area looking out on the outdoor patio. We started with the house-made smoked salmon. I have an affinity for smoked salmon, this was by far the best smoked salmon I have ever had. But wait, it got even better as it was served with house-made bread that was toasted to perfection along with a fabulous dill sauce. It was wonderful. We then shared an arugula salad with beets and many other items. It had the most amazing dressing. The freshness of the ingredients made this simple salad fabulous. For our entree we shared the catch of the day, a barramundi served with a house-made lemon caper sauce. We humbly requested to replace our sides with some roasted vegetables. The young woman who was our server (we later found out she was an owner) said she could accommodate us. The fish was amazing. The roasted vegetables that were added as an accommodation was the highlight of the meal. They were cooked to perfection, with a smoked flavor that made it taste like o was eating vegetables for the first time. I eat out often, but this is instantly one of my favorite restaurants. I can't wait to eat there again. We already have plans to eat there this Saturday as we celebrate my girlfriend's son's 12th birthday. You MUST try this restaurant as it is worth the drive.

My husband & I live in the Monterey area, but our elderly moms live in Galt & Pioneer. So, with busy lives we decided to try & give them a Mother's Day they'd really like. I was searching up restaurants that were doing Mother's Day events in their area. I didn't want to do a buffet or be in a place that was going to be so packed no one could hear each other. Tough challenge. But I found the Mother's Day brunch event at the Brick House, so decided to make reservations. I personally liked that you had to leave a deposit to hold the reservation. That tells me they're serious about making sure it was not overcrowded. The menu was limited due to it being a special event, but the items to choose from seemed interesting. Plus the bottomless mimosas & bloody Mary's was a big bonus. Our reservation was at 10:15AM. I'll start off with the review by mentioning my dad. He is a grumpy old guy who doesn't get out much. I've had to "warn" wait staff to ignore him; that he's a grump & won't be paying the bill, we will, so to not let any comments phase them, & we will try to keep him in line. Luckily he doesn't know what yelp is! When we were reviewing the menu the night before, he made the comments, "weird menu, it will be crowded, bottomless drinks? That means they will come by one time with tiny glasses." So we arrive a little early but are immediately seated in a very quiet area with only a couple of other tables occupied. The Grumpy old man: "see. They stuck us where we won't get any service." As soon as we sat down our waitress came over & immediately wished us all a happy mother's Day & could she get us a Bloody Mary or mimosa & that they were bottomless. And that she'd also be bringing our pastry board. We ordered our drinks & my dad made the comments, loud enough for the waitress to hear, "ok girls. Your one small mimosa will be coming out along with cold donuts. you'll never be offered another one, so enjoy." Within a few minutes us moms got our mimosas. In large wine glasses, filled to the top. Grumpy old man got a Bloody Mary. Nice selection of Pastries were hot out of the oven. He Made the comment, "great, a weak drink." (He hadn't taken a sip yet.") We told the waitress we would need a few minutes to look at the menu, she said fine. No rush. She came back & saw my mom & dad were nearly done with their drinks. Offered another while she took our order. My dad replied: "no. I'm driving." Translation: it's a strong drink. We went to order & my dad ordered the eggs Benedict with pork belly. also muttering it sounded weird, and it would be a shame to throw out such expensive food. He ate every bite & told the waitress it was "ok." (He rarely eats all his food.) Translation: it was probably one of the best he's had. I had the vegetable quiche & it was very good. The mimosas kept being offered & were flowing for the moms well after our food was finished which for it being a special, reservation only event was a pleasant surprise. We finely told the waitress at round 4 us girls were done. The restaurant remained quiet & when we left, it was busy, but not overly so. The manager, Chris, was greeting people & wishing the moms a happy Mother's Day. We were there for a couple of hours & never felt rushed to leave. When the bill came & my husband went to pay it, my dad told him to make sure the tip wasn't included before not leaving one. The waitress had to put up with us girls Constantly getting mimosas without asking for them. Translation: he felt like he had a nice time, the waitress made sure us moms had a nice time & wanted to make sure she got a tip. Us girls decided that we wanted to come back for regular happy hour/dinner next time we visited. My dad grumbled that he'd have to come too so we'd have a ride back. Translation: he wants to come back. Lol It was pricey, but worth every penny for the wonderful Mother's Day we were able to give our older moms. I'd definitely do it again next year if they have it. Thank you!

I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

Since it was a weekday there was no wait time for a table. The menu as you could guess is diner themed. It has hamburgers, hotdog, soup, salad, salads, sandwiches, ice cream, milkshakes, and classic breakfast and hearty diner entrées. The ice cream is from Sacramento's own local ice cream maker, Gunther's. Yes! I ordered the Home Run breakfast special $8.99. It's not served on holidays and the weekends. It's one egg, pancake or toast, hash browns or potatoes, or bacon, sausage or ham. The pancake was as big as my Charlie Brown head, and it was fluffy with a subtle vanilla flavor. Yum. The hash browns had crispy edges, which I prefer. Classic breakfast at a good price. Luved it. The Hubs had a cheeseburger and asked for hash browns instead of fries. He dug his burger. The patty was thick and not thin, flimsy. The seating consist of tables, booths, and counter seating. My party of three plopped ourselves into a booth.
