Had a great experience at SR Prime. The restaurant is located inside the casino, however, it doesn't feel like it. You can't hear any of the noise from the casino while you are dining in the restaurant. They serve bread and butter to start you off. The Yukon Gold Potato Pureé (shareable side) was delicious, very soft and creamy. I had the 7oz filet mignon, with Argentinian Chimichurri, loved it. The restaurant is very nice, modern feel. I really thought about whether I should write this review, but I feel it's important to share my honest experience in hopes that it can help the restaurant improve and prevent other customers from having a similar experience. My partner and I came here for the first time and had an amazing experience. The food and service were excellent, and I was especially impressed by how accommodating the staff was with my dietary restrictions. It can be extremely difficult to dine out when you have dietary limitations, so having a restaurant genuinely take the time to care about what I could and couldn't have meant a lot to me. That experience was actually the reason I decided to come back. Unfortunately, our second experience was completely different. Our server was wonderful and went above and beyond throughout the entire meal. Unfortunately, the issues we experienced were with the food and, more importantly, how the situation was handled by the manager, Caleb. We ordered two $72 ribeye steaks--one medium and one medium-rare. When our steaks arrived, we immediately noticed that they looked completely different from one another. One clearly appeared to be a ribeye, while the other looked more like a New York strip. We asked the staff to confirm, and we were repeatedly assured that both steaks were ribeyes. The steaks were taken back to the kitchen so they could check with the chef. At that point, I realized that my partner had actually been given my ribeye--the medium-rare one--and I had been given the other steak. When I cut into the steak I had been given in front of the manager, it was extremely rare and not at all what I had ordered. The manager asked me to cut further into the steak to check it, and then asked if I wanted him to take it back and "re-cook" it. I said yes because I simply wanted to be able to eat the steak I had paid $72 for. Unfortunately, when it was brought back, it was dry and overcooked, and I could no longer enjoy it. This was extremely disappointing. In my opinion, once it was clear that the wrong steak had been served and that it was significantly undercooked, the appropriate response would have been to apologize, acknowledge the kitchen's mistake, and prepare a completely new steak--especially considering the price. By this point, my sides were cold, my partner was frustrated because the steak kept being taken back and forth, and I no longer wanted to eat. Our server continued to apologize and was genuinely kind throughout the situation, so I want to make it clear that this was not her fault. The manager ultimately removed the steak and sides from the bill after I told him I no longer wanted anything. I appreciate that, but unfortunately, it didn't change the overall experience. I came in after work wanting to enjoy a nice steak and a relaxing evening with my partner. Instead, we spent a significant portion of our meal dealing with mistakes and trying to get the food we originally ordered. Caleb, I hope you take this feedback as an opportunity to improve. I understand that mistakes happen in restaurants, but the way those mistakes are handled can make all the difference. I would have appreciated more empathy, accountability, and a better understanding of how to handle an expensive steak that was not prepared or served correctly. I truly wanted to enjoy this restaurant again because of how wonderful our first experience was. Unfortunately, this visit left us extremely disappointed. I went here for Father's Day. My wife had made reservations a week or so ago. The place is on the South side of the casino. Just remember they smoke here and you can smell it. We got there at 5PM and there was a bunch of people outside. I didn't know they open at 5. It was after 5 and there were eight or people waiting outside. Most of us had reservations but a few were hoping to get one but they were turned away as they said they were booked up. We checked in but they still made us wait till all the people were checked in. It was kind of irritating since all the servers and staff were waiting for us at the entrance of the dinning room. I don't know why they made us wait so long. I filmed the bar area and dinning area while my family waited. The first couple got seated by the fireplace inside the bar are. Wow I wouldn't want to be there. It's the bar seating too. Strange , I was getting worried where they would put us. We were lead into the main dinning room. Good!. The room was a nice size with tables and booths. We got a booth. I was disappointed to not see white table clothes on the tables. The table was bare. It isn't as elegant as other steakhouses. There was a special prefix menu for Father's day but I forgot to take a picture of it. It wasn't something I wanted. I had looked at the bar before we were seated and saw what Japanese Whiskeys they had so I got the Yamazaki 12 year. It was nice. $54 I got the ribeye bone in which was $98. It was nice but nothing to write about. It was supposed to be 24oz but looked smaller. Cooked to a medium rare. I didn't think it was worth the price. The flavor was just ok. They asked if i wanted any sauces but they were extra charge. You shouldn't have to have a sauce on a steak at a steakhouse. We had the Market salad and split it. It was nice with peaches and cherries. I liked it. The fruit was fresh and ripe. My daughter got the French onion soup which was pretty good and flavorful. I think it was better than Ruth Chris'. My daughter ordered the Beef bourguignon and that was really good. I think better than the steak I got. My wife and daughter liked it. I would get that again. Oh I added the giant baked potato. It was ok . I didn't like that it wasn't warm inside. probably warmed up from being prepared earlier which sucks. I noticed that the dinning room wasn't even full, yet they turned away several patrons and said they were booked. I guess they don't have enough staff to handle the extra customers. Our sever didn't really check on us much and after he first came up to us he was busy talking to another server for a long while I had to waive him over. My daughter had gotten hot water and he didn't ask to refill it until the end of the meal. The service was not like other steakhouses. Not really up to speed. The manager was right to turn away other customers since they couldn't handle the ones they did have. I knew this steakhouse received bad reviews when it opened and I thought it would be different and nicer by now. It is just ok. Not amazing that I had to go there for the steaks. I was disappointed. I was hospitalized recently and my wife took excellent care of me after. I wanted to take her out for a special dinner and she chose this place. Ambiance This is a fine dining restaurant inside Sky River Casino. Just a beautiful spacious place. Customer Service It was stellar our server Tamika was attentive and sincerely pleasant. Wilson which I believe was front of house manager came by a few times checking on us, Wilson has what it takes to work the best restaurants in the world. Wilson brings charm and class. Blistered Shishito Pepper Very large appetizer. They were delicious. There were red rings of some pepper, to hot for me. Rate 5 18 oz Ribeye Center Cut I love a good sirloin and filet. My honey loves ribeye this is what she ordered. This was a thick cut and was cooked perfectly medium rare as all good steaks should be. This is the best ribeye I have ever tasted. Rate 5 Seabass So tender cooked perfectly and tasty. Sauce supreme was very good. Sat on a bed of grilled cabbage, not for my palet. I think sitting on a bed of rice would be better. Rate 4.5 Yukon Gold Potato Puree Yukon golds are my favorite. This is a sharable dish. So damn good u could taste the butter and cream. Rate 5 Plating Just beautiful. These chefs have pride. I've dined here several times, and the food and service have been consistently good on every visit. One of my favorite things is their bread and butter -- the bread is incredibly soft and delicious. The iceberg wedge salad is huge and easily shareable between three people. It's light and refreshing. On my most recent visit, I ordered the seared scallops, which came with four generously sized scallops, maitake mushrooms, kale, parsnip purée, smoked hazelnut, and pancetta crumble. The scallops and mushrooms were excellent, but the parsnip purée was a little too sweet for my taste, and the kale leaned slightly bitter. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the dish overall. I also tried the bananas foster for the first time, and our server, Tamika, prepared it tableside for us. It was delicious -- sweet without being overpowering, especially paired with the cheesecake. Tamika was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the meal. The steakhouse itself is spacious, though getting into the booths can be a little awkward unless you're seated at the end. This is the second time I've been here, and while the customer service and the ambiance are very nice, the most important item that we ordered for the night was absolutely terrible. We ordered the crab cakes, octopus, shiso peppers, asparagus, and mushrooms. All of these were great. But then came the main course: Australian wagyu New York Strip. $140. It looks absolutely amazing. It was cooked absolutely perfectly. The marbling; top notch. But holy f**** hell the flavor was atrocious. The only thing I can possibly compare it to was something like deer with the "gamey" taste. Every single bite left a terrible taste in my mouth after enjoying the seared crust. I kept it to myself because I thought maybe I was going crazy. Obviously I've had Japanese A5 wagyu as well and that never had a problem like this. Eventually I couldn't eat anymore and my date confirmed my suspicions and tasted the same weird gamey taste. How can you serve $140 Australian wagyu if it's going to taste like this? After doing some research online, this is very common with Australian wagyu. Reviews are like 50/50 on whether people like it or not. 50/50 is so bad that I don't even know why you bother serving it on the menu. The flavor with a juicy regular good old California cow steak is infinitely better than what we tasted last night. Obviously it wouldn't be as fatty. The only reason we didn't even complain is because my entire $300 bill was comped since I paid for Sky Rivers electricity bill for the next few months. But still, I earned those comps and it leaves another sour taste in my mouth. Your restaurant has officially let me down. read more

Now let's talk food! We ordered the French onion soup, 48 oz tomahawk (medium rare), asparagus, and scallop risotto. * The steak? Absolute star of the show. Cooked perfectly--juicy, flavorful, and exactly what you want from a legit steakhouse. They know what they're doing here. Nothing worse than under seasoned overcooked steak * Scallop risotto + asparagus both delivered and rounded everything out nicely. * French onion soup... it was good, but nothing to write home about And then... the bill hits After tax and tip, we were right around $200 per person. So yeah--this is definitely a special occasion kind of place. Not "random Tuesday night" unless you're feeling bold or you just won in the slots. So my servers, Tameka and Nadia with an H was amazing very attentive just warming and welcoming. The whole staff. was the food was to be honest just OK. For the price it should have been amazing. The experience was amazing but the food was just OK. I've been twice before and my food was amazing but this time it was just OK the lamb chops they were just OK. Those brussels sprouts was really really good and the mashed potatoes, but my salmon it was OK but I would tell everybody to go try it. The place is absolutely beautiful. Came here to celebrate my birthday and SR Prime made it feel like a proper occasion from start to finish. We started off with cocktails, French onion soup, spinach dip, and shishito peppers. Everything was flavorful and perfect for sharing while enjoying the atmosphere. For the main event, we ordered the tomahawk steak, which they presented and sliced tableside. Visited the Sky River Casino today and loved it! After playing some slots we decided to try the steak house. RS Prime steakhouse was the most delicious steak house we have eaten at since moving into this area 3 years ago. The ribeye steak was perfect and savory. Cooked to perfection! The Caesar salad and bread and butter or just amazing. We also tried the lobster cheese cavatappi and Brussel sprouts and were super delighted with the amazing flavors and textures. I think my husband just really enjoyed the butter squash soup. He said it was divine. The decor was amazing and the restaurant looked beautiful and clean. Our server was the best! We were honestly not too sure what to expect going into SR Prime Steakhouse since it is part of Sky River Casino. That hesitation disappeared almost immediately. The entrance is just inside the casino and you do not have to walk through gaming areas to reach it. Once inside you quickly forget you are even in a casino. The dining room is very nice and refined without feeling over the top like many casino restaurants tend to be. The meal itself was fantastic and made for a great overall experience. The service was excellent throughout the evening attentive polished and genuinely welcoming. We started with the oysters which were excellent and fresh and followed with the lump crab cake which was easily the best we have had in the area. It was generous flavorful and perfectly prepared. We split the wedge salad which was large enough for sharing though it was very average compared to the rest of the meal. For the main course we ordered the Filet and the dry aged New York strip and both were outstanding. They were cooked beautifully seasoned well and full of flavor. Without hesitation these were some of the best steaks we have had in the Sacramento area. For sides we ordered the Brussels sprouts and wild mushrooms. The Brussels sprouts were toasted nicely generous in portion and full of flavor. The wild mushrooms were excellent earthy well prepared and a perfect complement to the steaks. It truly exceeded our expectations. From the atmosphere to the service to the food it delivered a memorable and satisfying dining experience. If you have been hesitant because of the casino setting do not be. This is a destination steakhouse and one we will absolutely return to and recommend. read more

I've been here many times and I'm just now getting to write my review. Not sure why it's taking me so long! The service is always great. I've never really had a long wait and usually if tables are full you can find a spot at the bar. This particular visit was to celebrate my birthday and they set the table up with cute "happy birthday" confetti! Apps: Fritto misto: 4/5 fried egg plant, bell pepper, calamari & zucchini. The calamari was small and rubbery Shrimp cocktail 5/5- big, fresh, clean and refreshing! Ribeye- 5/5 ordered medium well. Cooked perfectly! Flavor was good without the addition of chimichurri or garlic butter. Brussels-4/5 usually really good to my taste buds but for some reason it was on the sweeter side. Not a bad thing just not to my liking. But they were still decent Mushrooms: 5/5 i liked the flavor but considering I'm the only one that eats mushrooms i should have thought about the portion that would go uneaten before ordering lol. It's a lot Lobster Mac-4/5 creamy, nice chunks of lobster, good share portion. I'm just not a fan of the rosemary flavor on it. It's still very good! King crab- off menu ( i should have known better) unfortunately we came across some not so yummy crab this visit, It's no one's fault. I took my parents out to this steakhouse for dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. At first, the service was exceptional! The manager came over and thanked us for going there and multiple workers were all pitching in to bring us different things. I thought this steakhouse had the beef Wellington on its menu, but it doesn't, so that was a little disappointing because that's what I was going to order. My parents and I all got the filet mignon though. My parents liked it, but I was a little disappointed. Although it was cooked medium rare, it tasted dry and not enough seasoning. The crabcakes were fabulous though! However, when it got busy. We didn't have much service and waited around to get the check and leave. It felt like we were sitting around waiting for at least 15-20 minutes. So that was a little disappointing as well. Since I used to work in the restaurant industry, I do understand what it's like when restaurants get busy but at the same time, if I'm spending $300 for three meals, I would've expected exceptional service the whole time. My cousins and I went Friday night and Isaac was our server. He was attentive, knowledgeable of the menu and made the evening fun. However, our drinks weren't on point. The lemon drops were way too sweet and the dirty martinis weren't so dirty, so I asked for a side of olive juice. I learned our favorite bartender Max is no longer there and I was legit sad to learn this. He was the highlight of our visits and had the best currated cocktail menu. Then we were sat and had Tamika as our server and she was amazing, friendly and just a joy to talk to. We started with the seasonal soup which was butternut squash and it was amazing! Best soup I've ever had at any of the 100's of fancy upscale places I've eaten all over the US and abroad. Simply amazing and hats off to the chef. The for the steak, it was fantastic. Best steak I've had in the Sacramento and NorCal area. It was perfectly cooked and good portion size and had good flavor. Hard to find this in NorCal but finally found something good. The ambiance was quiet, upscale, and clean and a great place to impress a date or business or when celebrating a bday or anniversary! Wow what a great steakhouse! Top of the line dining inside Sacramento's newest premier casino. Had my first, of many, visits to SR Prime Steakhouse Friday night with some friends. We were immediately asked what drinks we'd like. Went with coffee and water. The coffee here was tremendous! Creamer and sugar of course. We were brought bread with a creamy butter while we browsed the menu. The inside of the steakhouse is super nice and you'd have no idea it was inside a casino if it weren't for the clear windows showing the slots. I was really pleased with the service here. We had a main server who did a beautiful job taking care of us but also other workers kept coming by and checking on our drinks and any other needs we had. I like the attention to customers here. Went with the French fries and the boneless ribeye steak. Both were delicious. Steak cooked to perfection and the fries were some of the best I've ever had. I had heard about a new steakhouse @ Sky River Casino in El Grove, CA and decided to try it out Saturday evening. The Hostess was very kind and accommodating. Even though I was dining in an upscale restaurant and dressed in sweat pants, a 49'ers jersey, cap and tennis shoes, she walked me to my table in a beautiful dining room without a reservation. She left me with a menu and once again welcomed me to SR Prime Steakhouse. The menu had so many choices for appetizers, sides, entrees and desserts. Plus the wine list and the bar menu was equally impressive with anything a five star restaurant would offer. Once comfortable in my seat, I was first met with an individual whom I thought was my waiter asking if I needed a beverage, poured me a glass of water and asked if I would like some bread? The dapper young man then said my waiter would be with me shortly. Shortly thereafter, my waiter arrived and introduced himself very politely. He then asked if I had an idea what I wanted to order, he made some suggestions and I made my decision. I ordered French onion soup to begin with and a New York Strip with puréed mashed potatoes. Soon after my bread arrived with a kind older gentleman with a vibrant smile whom also was welcoming and respectful. The bread and what looked like crackers but with an elegant twist was accompanied by a generous portion of white butter. This would prove to be my Aquiles heel due to the superb taste the combination offered my pallet. Then my waiter reappeared with the French onion soup which was excellent. With perfect timing my main course arrived and I was not disappointed. My steak was perfectly prepared, the mashed potatoes were exquisite and in all honesty, top three culinary experiences of my 58 years on our planet. Now to the question most people are thinking of, how was the price? As a man who has travelled extensively throughout the world, if you can't afford to splurge or have no desire to do so then you will find the experience a bit expensive. I myself felt it was quite reasonable considering all the variables. In total I spent $150 American currency, including 20% gratuity. First, Fine dining should always have a fine dining experience with table linens. No table covers, napkins were plain white paper, linen napkins were super thin and linty. They used to have such better quality linens. Our to go bag was a plastic bag. Felt super tacky walking around w a plastic bag. They need to invest in some nice quality paper bags when you pay hundreds of dollars for food. 2nd, the food was good. We ordered our tomahawk, medium, and it came out medium well. We didn't bother getting it changed because we were too hungry but we only ate 2-3 pieces cause it was pretty tough at the edges. Ceasar salad- super underwhelming. Shareables were ok. Bacon mashed potatoes -could do without the bacon and cheese. Asparagus -standard, lobster Mac & cheese were overpriced and ok. Crab cakes were nice. Dessert- affogato was served in a little glass mug, a little disappointed by the presentation. I expected it to be in a cosmo glass as it should be. Creme brulee- have definitely had better. We sat at the bar with Elizabeth, she was helpful in helping my husband pick out a whiskey he had never tried before, and she made myself an amazing espresso martini. I will start positive...the food tasted great. Unfortunately, besides the poor service I WAS SHORTED ON MY MEAL. My wife and I order the same size filet. You look at the pictures...something is not right. Issac is horrible as a host/server. 3 times I have had him it has been bad. I have others and they are good. I waited a long time to get my order taken. It is a Wednesday and it is not crowded. So disappointed. I am sure I will get some AI generated response from the supposed manager. Nothing ever gets addressed. I got home with my desserts to go. What the... I have some AI response from Sky River and a completely disgusting creme Brules. What a waste. I dropped over $ today (my choice) and got the worst service at dinner and the completely messed up the dessert. What do I get some AI response. This steakhouse is inside Sky River Casino. The ambience was nice but not stuffy. The servers were friendly. The service wasn't fast but then again you aren't at a fast food restaurant. Let's talk food- I had the parmesan fries, French onion soup, and sea bass. Others in our group had the steaks. The fries were fantastic just the right crispness and good amount of cheese. The French onion soup was really good and I'd definitely recommend it. The sea bass was good but the sauce with it wasn't that flavorful yet i still enjoyed the fish. Now what I really liked was the smoked Old Fashion (Yellowstone)- it was a great drink and presentation is on point. 2/5 -- Slow Service Overshadowed Everything We visited SR Prime Steakhouse on a Tuesday night and unfortunately the experience fell far below expectations. We had 6:00 PM reservations and were seated promptly at 6:05, but that's where the efficiency ended. Our drink order wasn't taken until 6:15, drinks arrived at 6:30, and our food order was taken at the same time. It took 45 minutes just to receive our salad, and another 30 minutes before the first entrée hit the table. For a not‑so-busy Tuesday, the pace was surprisingly slow. The busboy seemed to be responsible for four tables--about twenty people--and the service lag really showed. Everything took far too long for the price point. As for the food: - Food quality: 6/10 - Presentation: 5/10 - Ambiance & décor: 8/10 (the fire encased in glass was a nice touch) - The bread board with the edible printed butter logo was unique and appreciated. Best steak in Sacramento!!! I put this up against Rudy's Hideaway, Morton's, Ruth Criss and Cattleman's! It may seem pricey to some but more than worth it!! I got a "Yellowstone" which is an Old Fasioned that comes in a smoke box and it was the Best I've ever had! The bone marrow appetizer and crab cakes were exquisite but the raw oysters stole the appetizer show!! Plump, fresh and juicy!! We could have eaten another dozen!!! The main courses: Wife's lamb chops were cooked to perfection, full of flavor and nice bite off the bone!! My ribeye was to die for!! I got the garlic butter and lump crab meat on top for a little extra fee but more than worth it!! Perfectly cooked medium steak and excellent sear! Service was amazing. A little slow for an empty Sunday evening but their smiles and positive attitudes compensated!!! We will definitely be back!!!! read more

Went to SR Prime Steakhouse for a date night and the ambiance was stunning dimly lit to perfection, with elegant, extravagant décor that made the whole place feel upscale but still cozy. It wasn't crowded, which made it even better for a relaxed, romantic evening. Our server was amazing, so kind, attentive, and really elevated the experience!! As for the food, I absolutely loved the lobster mac & cheese, mashed potatoes, and my steak, everything was rich, flavorful, and hit the spot. My drink (wish I remembered the name) was beautifully presented and just the right amount of sweet. It's not my absolute favorite steakhouse, but I would 100% come back. My boyfriend didn't love the sides (he's a pickier eater) but I was a fan of it all. Perfect for a special date night; chic, cozy, and delicious!!! read more

The food was unexpectedly good. Great selections but be careful ordering the shishito peppers for an app, they are tasty but the quantity could be for a small village. The bone marrow is dreamy, oysters are Washington while good are not gulf (sorry lived in nola for a coupe of years). The wagu was divine. But what made the night was the service. Glacia was one of the best severs I have experienced in over 40 years. Request her when coming she works nights. The new manager Caleb stopped by and we had a discussion and it was great, so far this is the best and friendliest spot I have been. This is a go to when you come to Sacramento, although it is in a casino it should be a 5 star restaurant and will follow up on consistency. From what I see it at least a 1 star Michelin experience. Oooh this place broke our wallets lol First time coming here for a celebration and we really enjoyed ourselves! Our waitress was so kind, patience and attentive. We ordered for starters a charcuterie board and bread and butter. Bread was super soft! Then for drinks, everyone chose their ideal drinks from scotch, whiskey, martini, Gotham (video) and IPA. Then a few minutes later, around food came! Yay! Forgot to take a picture of my Caesar Salad! The salad was tasty, nothing to rave about BUT the protein..omg that NEW YORK STEAK. You would have thought it was the tomahawk but nope! The New York was the winner. Prefect medium rare, red, flavorful and juicy. The Seared Scallop was pretty good, but the middle was somewhat cold... they were huge though! Regarding the tomahawk, it was somewhat dry...Parts were super well done and not as flavorful compared to the NY Steak. The interior was very beautiful. High ceiling with just the prefect lighting. Overall, I'd go back for the NY steak. It was delicious and very little effort to chew. Take my money for real. Lol read more
