    8. Tom Yum Soup

Had dinner here and it was good! The restaurant is very open even though the seating is a bit odd with a booth near front of door kind of just in a weird spot but ‍. Service was good they were very quick with the orders and getting food to table. We ordered the spring rolls .. that was ok.. the cucumber inside was weirdly bitter. The peanut sauce with it was delicious. Shrimp rolls was good .. can't really mess that up. The Thai chicken wings were delicious! Very flavorful. Thai papaya salad was good. My favorite dish is the garlic pepper beef with rice! That tasted so good! Drunken noodles was very flavorful and delicious as well. Tom yum soup was great.. sour and Thai flavorful. Great with some rice! Chicken kopiec was too salty. I wish the noodles was a little thicker. Overall I would be back to have the garlic pepper beef plate and drunken noodles again for sure!

Food was very mediocre and service was very slow and unorganized. Not sure if I will return.

By far the worst service I ever received at a Thai restaurant. Came in here with my sisters, we get boba at Rose Tea lounge and wanted to try it out. They renovated the interior a bit. Looks very opened and clean. The younger waitress would not take our order. She was bringing the entrees to the table, so we figured that she doesn't know how to take orders. But started to take orders when it got busy. The lady with the glasses finally took our order after 15 mins later. Our food came out at a decent time, not much of a delay but no one refills water. I had to get my own boxes and walk up to the counter to pay. When I got my bill, I asked if the tips were included. She told me no. When I got the receipt, the tip section reflects 2%,5%, or 7%. Super odd, so I told her I need my phone so I can calculate the tip. Few minutes later, she came by and told me I don't need to calculate. The tip was automatically included for parties of 6. I'm not too happy that she lied to me. This is a shady restaurant and will not be returning. For people who's going to dine in, make sure you get an itemized bill.

Pretty good food and quick service! I wonder if this place is owned by coconut on T because the menus look pretty similar. My husband and I ordered the fresh roll to start, and then some Tim kha soup. Both were so good, although I thought the soup would be bigger. We also ordered the marinated grilled chicken and ground chicken ka prao with brown rice. Again so delicious and a healthy meal. We also had plenty to take home. Ambiance is casual. Parking lot is packed because there are a lot of cars for the boba spot in the same plaza.

My wife and I came to try out this new place. It looks like a family run small business. When we got there, it was pretty empty on a Sunday night, but customers started steadily coming in about 7:30. We order the ground chicken basil stir fry with egg, fresh rolls, bbq chicken, and tom kha with chicken. Tom kha with chicken- good broth, I like that they take out the lemon grass and galangal, because other places leave it in and it's such a hassle to take it out as you eat. I wish there was more broth. Also, this was the last item that came out instead of first. Ground chicken basil stir fry with egg- this is like pad ka prow. Good, flavorful. I wish the egg yolk was still runny. Fresh rolls- good sauce, no flavor in the rolls, but that's how it is. It's all sauce dependent. Grilled chicken- I was expecting pieces of chicken. Decent. Healthy balanced plate.

I came here twice in 1 week. The beef salad was so good! And the garlic pepper beef was flavorful, actually a little salty but good when mixed with rice. We asked for mild but it was more like a medium. It came with so much sauce that I used the excess to stir fry my own ingredients. However, I got a papaya salad Thai style the following visit and that was honestly so bad :(((. It had no flavor and there was nothing to mix up the dish. Just bland sauce, papaya and crushed chili pepper only (I specifically asked no peanuts though). I usually get Lao style papaya salad but I wanted Thai style this time and it was not enjoyable at all. I will probably try their Lao style one of these days to compare. But looking at other people's photos, maybe mine was a fluke because it looked nothing like the others. I had no tomato or greens mixed in. Literally 0. Both times were to-go so I can't speak on service. But the woman at the register seemed sweet and had a warm demeanor.

Food was okay, staff were friendly, and the restaurant was clean. We like drunken noodles the most, the papaya salad is very salty.

Thai Hot is the kind of place you keep coming back to -- reliable, flavorful, and welcoming. Whether you're grabbing a quick lunch or settling in for dinner with friends, it's one of Elk Grove's better Thai options.

My first time here and it sets the bar high!! This is the best Thai Restaurant I have ever been!! Hands down!! This pad Thai is so delicious and the servings was enormous , It's so delicious that Ii ate half of it The curry is delicious. We also had papaya salad and tom yum soup , so delish! I'm one happy camper with a happy tummy! Everyone must check this out!

    Drunken noodles with fried talapia

All was good, delicious food with amazing flavors , great service and ambience. Ordered red curry , drunken noodles with tilapia, and for sweet tooth fried banana with coconut ice team . Only critique will be to add variety veggies to red try ,and ice cream needs to be more coconutty.

Chicken Kao Pieak Noodle Soup 0/5 - "noodles" were thick globs of dough cooked in broth that tasted like sweet soy sauce served with ground chicken... i wouldn't even call it noodles - was asked what spice level i wanted which is unusual for this noodle soup since normally there would be spice condiments on the table so you can adjust the seasoning & spice - had to request for condiments (chili oil & etc) - would not recommend Drunken Noodles 3.5/5 - best thing we had, ordered "Thai hot" spice level, sauce is on the sweeter side Fried Shrimp rolls 3/5 - shrimp rolled in egg roll wrapper, nothing special. At least it was served fresh & hot

We discovered this great new Thai spot in Elk Grove and had to come back for a second visit. The food is absolutely delicious. This time I ordered the fresh spring rolls, eggplant with tofu with brown rice, and finished with mango sticky rice for dessert, everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. You can really taste the quality of the ingredients, and the dishes feel both comforting and vibrant. The eggplant with tofu was especially amazing, rich, savory, and cooked just right. The mango sticky rice was the perfect sweet ending. Whenever I'm in the area, I always want to come back. Highly recommend if you're looking for great Thai food!

Newly opened Thai spot. Apparently, their other location was The Coconut in the Walmart plaza. My husband and I came one evening to check out the menu, which looked pretty decent. However, we were disappointed they didn't offer Pineapple Fried Rice, which is usually a Thai restaurant staple. We ordered Tom Yum soup, Pad Thai with shrimp, Spicy Tilapia with brown rice (all mild spice), and Thai tea for takeout. The Tom Yum soup was very good and had a nice kick, though the portion size was smaller than what we're used to. The Pad Thai was just okay--not terrible, but lacking flavor and it didn't come with a lime. The Spicy Tilapia tasted good, but the takeout packaging was terrible. The container wasn't sealed, so the sauce spilled in the bag and the fish ended up dry. One positive surprise: the "brown rice" turned out to be purple rice. Their Thai Tea was great! Can't go wrong with that! Overall, we probably won't be back. I wasn't a fan of The Coconut either, so I'm not surprised this place didn't win me over. If I'm craving good Thai food, I'll make the drive to Sacramento.

The servers were very attentive and kind; it was Monday night, and not extremely busy which helped. They boxed my food for me as well, customer service was even better than my first visit! ~~ Original review: An authentic Thai restaurant that is a true pleasure for your taste buds. I had the Thai iced tea with the roasted duck panang duck curry. A unique dish that I haven't seen at other Thai restaurants; the portion was plentiful and the duck was tender, flavorful and yummy. The curry didn't overpower the duck, and it wasn't soggy. The spice level was perfect. Spicy enough for a kick, but you can taste the medley of flavors. I really enjoyed the pineapple in this dish, it complemented everything else perfectly. The thickness of the curry was on point. 10/10 The Thai iced tea was balanced well; sweet, but a strong tea flavor. However, there were small bits of tea at the bottom. Otherwise, it was perfect. 9/10 My coworkers had the yellow chicken curry & chicken lettuce wraps. Service: Good customer service, they checked on us a couple of times even though it started to get busy. The tattooed server was handsome. 10/10 Ambiance: A casual hole in the wall vibe where you can hear the chefs yelling from the back. Gold wall art that makes you feel like you feel like you're in Thailand. Parking: Parking lot with plenty of parking at 6pm on a Tuesday. I would definitely return any time I'm in NorCal.

I think…read morethere were only a couple other tables occupied, so it felt really relaxed and easy when we walked in. Our table ordered a little bit of everything from duck entrees to noodles, but I went with my usual favorite, the chicken satay salad. Honestly that peanut sauce is everything. So flavorful and one of those sauces where you wish they would just bring extra automatically. I've had the chicken satay before just as the appetizer and basically made it my meal, but the salad version was really fresh and just as good. One thing I did notice this time was that our food came out at pretty different times. Some of my friends were already done eating before my salad even came out. That said, the food here does feel very authentic and handmade, so I can understand why dishes don't all hit the table at once, especially with different entrees being prepared fresh. It just would have been nice timing-wise for everyone to eat together. One funny moment was two of my friends tried ordering Arnold Palmers, and since they don't really carry lemonade or standard iced tea, they kind of improvised with pink lemonade and what may have as Thai tea. Somehow it still worked because both of them loved it. We've been here quite a few times and usually split checks, which we did again this visit. This was the first time gratuity had already been added onto all of our separate checks, so just something to be aware of before tipping so you don't accidentally double tip without realizing it. Helpful tip: The chicken satay anything here is a safe bet, and definitely double check your check if you're splitting bills with a group. Overall still one of my favorite Thai spots in Elk Grove, especially when I'm craving that peanut sauce.

The parking lot had plenty of spots available. I was warmly greeted before being seated to a table along the window. The menu has many options of popular Thai dishes. I thought the RAO's platter was the perfect appetizer to order so I could try multiple dishes at once. I almost always try a rice dish at any Asian restaurant so I chose crab fried rice. At the last minute I decided to add the crying tiger to my order. Especially since the server said it wasn't very spicy. Food arrived without too much of a wait. The platter was delicious and I appreciated three sauce options for different palates. The egg roll was nice and crispy, not too oily. The wonton was yummy. The chicken was fine for a skewer, but the other two were my favorites. The crab fried rice was decent. I would prefer a little more crab because as I am writing this out, I don't remember seeing big pieces of crab meat. The crying tiger was a deliciously prepared NY steak. I was able to request how to have the meat prepared and asked for medium rare. The meat had a nice pink color and was tender. There were some fatty pieces, but that is to be expected. We ordered mango sticky rice and asked that it be brought out at the end of the meal. The dessert was prepared as expected. The mango was sweet and the rice was chewy. I liked that the condensed milk was served on the side so we could add it to our liking. The dining room had beautiful decor and artwork along the walls. I spent some of the time waiting for my food looking around and enjoying the art pieces.

Try their Green Thai Tea, it's refreshing with a nice jasmine tea flavor. On my most recent visit with friends, we tried the BBQ Pork. It was okay, but not really my favorite. The Thai Basil Eggplant with chicken was good. I'm still not completely sold on their papaya salad though. It's been a bit hit or miss for me.
