Ordered thru DoorDash today as me and husband is lazy to go out. First the Vietnamese coffee was not inside plastic bag and handed separately it was not sealed and worst part is not full??? Would u think I will drink?? NO!!!( I send issue to DoorDash) Second the fried chicken is so pale it's like they just did the first fry and dumped to container looks is not appealing at all I tried one no taste and no texture of crunch. Third was my sandwich seems like they ran out of sandwich wrap exposing both ends of sandwich.... This was our first favorite since this is the first Vietnamese restaurant we've tried when we moved here but today's order and with food quality not anymore. The pork and shrimp noodles salad is just okay. I'm just dissatisfied for today's order.
I've heard about this place from family and friends so I finally decided to give it a try. With our favorite pho restaurant closing last year I've been on the hunt to find something similar in taste and conveniently close. We got our food to go, not my #1 choice, and I made sure to order a large Pho Tai (noodles & rare steak) to share with my toddler. I don't prefer ordering to go as the portions don't seem nearly as comparable as you'd get in person. Then once you're home if something is wrong or missing you're kind of SOL. Upon opening my to go box immediately I was disappointed in the color of my bean sprouts. They were gray and dark brown with very few still in decent shape to eat. These should have been tossed days ago. Growing up in a Vietnamese household where my grandma was making pho frequently I know what quality ingredients should look like. And on top of that I got ONE packet of hoisin sauce, ONE! I feel they should adjust how many packets to provide based on the size of the pho being ordered. Remember, I got a large. All in all, after eating my pho with the few edible bean sprouts surprisingly I enjoyed it. Broth was better than all the other places I've tried and rare steak was nice and thin. However, noodles were overcooked so as I'm trying to grab with my chopsticks it's literally breaking each time. Nonetheless, I managed to still slurp all of it up. I don't recommend placing an order to go but I'd like to come dine in down the road.

Lots of fresh veggies came with it and lots of grilled pork! Just one egg roll comes with it. I enjoyed it and would come back if I'm ever in the area.

Comparable to other places. Crispy taro seafood salad: Very interesting salad, in a good way. The taro was crispy. Great texture throughout. Refreshing as well. Crispy noodle with vegetables and beef: The noodle was not crispy at all. Beef was a bit overcooked. Grilled pork Vietnamese sandwich: The bread was a bit too crunchy and not fluffy. Flavor was good overall. Decent banh mi. Whole coconut jelly: Very refreshing. The jelly had different textures. Top half of the jelly is white, bottom half is clear. Pay at the counter. If paying cash, can get a little discount.
I recently decided to give this Pho place a try and I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and value of the food. Had the number 19 large pho which was large enough to share. Ingredients were fresh, lots of noodles and meat. I could have used more fresh veggies, like jalapeños, and sprouts on the side. Broth was flavorful and came out pipping hot. I also ordered fried calamari, which was just ok. Flavor was great, crispy and light but there wasn't a lot on the plate for $11. Ambiance was ok, our server was super nice and kind. I would recommend it, no need to go to Stockton Blvd.
From a converted Ramen fan. I won't claim to preferring Pho over Ramen now but I can at least say that I can enjoy either one and there isn't a clear favorite. I was probably scorned from a few not so good Pho places before but the complaints I had previously were resolved here (flavorless broth, weird tasting meatballs, etc). Opted for the #13 Combination Pho (Large) and it did not disappoint, the broth was flavorful and they did not skimp on all cuts of beef, tripe and tendon. Finished as much as I could but still had some left over to take home. We also got an order of their egg roll appetizer which was just as delicious -- crunchy and each bite had equal amounts of filling. Overall, i'd say this place was great. Price is about what you'd expect from a Pho place in the area and service was nice and quick.

The calamari looked underdone and didn't have a golden color. It wasn't really crispy either. I probably would not get it again. The pho is pretty standard in terms of portion and taste. Overall a decent pho spot but nothing special in terms of food or service.
I ordered takeout from here once and thought the food was acceptable so we dined in this time, but I was not happy with my food. We were there pretty early and the place was empty. I honestly felt like they may have served me old/leftover food from the day before. I ordered a Pho Tai. The broth was fine. The beef, however, was overcooked, dry, and tough. There was also some extra beef bits coating on it, not sure why as I don't usually see that. The noodles were hard and stuck together despite my efforts to loosen them up in the hot broth. Also, if you are craving Pho Ga for the chicken soup, don't order it here. They use the beef broth to make their chicken noodle soup. To add to the bad food we had, the booth I was seated in had a very dirty spot where it seemed like they never bothered cleaning/wiping. Overall, unsatisfied with my experience.
Clean and nice relaxing feel.... Pho Y used to be the spot but since they closed I've been having a hard time finding great pho with great service. Their pho is best in the area from Sacramento to Elk Grove! Please go try them out. Just have to note.... Born and raised in San Jose so moving to Elk Grove was really hard trying to find great Pho! This is the spot!!!!
Pho Basil were very quick to respond with resolution to the issue I encountered and have since apologized. They acknowledged the issue and informed the staff to ensure this doesn't happen again. Surely this was a one off and a learning experience. I have full faith and trust that they care about their customers. I will remain loyal as a regular. I would recommend the pork and shrimp spring rolls, pork banh mi and pork rice plates!! Trust me, I've tried all the other competitors and this is the best in town.
My vermicelli bowl was amazingly fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding. Such kind folks here. It's a typical Vietnamese restaurant ambiance setup. I'm not coming here for the atmosphere. It's great food and great service. What more can you ask for. I plan to be back soon.

A former coworker and I met up for lunch here. The place was pretty empty so there weren't any issues getting a seat immediately. She ordered a pho dish but unfortunately, I cannot remember exactly what it was. I ordered chicken and shrimps with rice. The dish was pretty good although I was disappointed that there were only two pieces of shrimp. I didn't care for the vegetables so I left those aside and cannot comment on how good they were. The staff were very friendly and the prices were also reasonable. I did also appreciate that it appeared to be very clean inside. read more

This place is okay. Most of the food was decent. My pho was average at best. The broth by itself wasn't great, but wasn't bad. I've had better and have had worse. The portion was good for me, but the large didn't look like a large size from other restaurants. The mango salad was probably the best dish of the night. I really enjoyed it and our table finished the whole thing. The rice plates are good. I tried a piece of the grilled chicken and it had great flavor. The nuoc mam/Cham tasted great as well. What really made this place 3 stars was their egg rolls. I love egg rolls. But the one served to us either had spoiled meat, old meat or was freezer burnt. Whatever it was, it tasted so bad I did not finish it. It had a really off putting fried spoiled meat taste AND smell. And was really oily. Thinking about it makes my stomach churn. I don't know if I would trust getting this again if I come back. Service was great. They were attentive without being overbearing. They provided great service to every one that came in. The restaurant was clean and parking on a weeknight was easy. If I do come back, I'll go get my usual go to of rice plates. Would've given them 4 stars if not for the spoiled egg rolls. read more

My vermicelli bowl was amazingly fresh and delicious. Service was outstanding. Such kind folks here. It's a typical Vietnamese restaurant ambiance setup. I'm not coming here for the atmosphere. It's great food and great service. What more can you ask for. I plan to be back soon. read more

I've been to many places for Bún Bò Huế, especially in Stockton Blvd Vietnamese town and Elk Grove, but this one stands out as one of the best. I highly recommend it to everyone. read more
Recently moved to this side of town and was craving some Viet food and found that this was the closest one in my area. Ordered a shrimp vermicelli bowl and shrimp spring rolls, both came out to a total of approximately $23, which is quite typical nowadays...sadly. With the amount paid, I would say the portion for the vermicelli bowl was pretty good considering that the shrimp was very tasty (and they didn't skimp on it!) and they loaded the bowl with veggies (which I personally prefer as it adds a variety of textures). I cannot necessarily say the same for the spring roll as it was quite thin and small considering it being $7-8 for 2 pieces. I would recommend sizing it up (if they want to keep the count) or add a roll. I ordered the items for take out so I cannot say much about the service but the staff who assisted me were quick and kind. The restaurant looked clean as well so I would definitely come by again to try their dine-in service. read more
Food is always consistent and good here! I like the Pho and they give you a good amount of noodle and meat for a medium bowl! Service is quick and the waiters and waitresses always check on you. Ambiance is just like any authentic Vietnamese spot read more
Quality of food has gotten much better since my last review. Beef pho broth is very flavorful and not oily. Fish sauce fried chicken is my fav and their Thai tea is decent. Only thing missing is a kids menu! Service is a hit or miss; they did not check up on us or refilled our water. Otherwise, this is my to go spot if I'm craving pho down the street from my neighborhood. read more

The atmosphere here is absolutely vibrant and oh-so-relaxing! I've been on an epic quest to discover the ultimate pho, and let me tell you, this place is an absolute hidden gem! Their pho, bun Bo hue are truly the best you'll find from Sacramento all the way to Elk Grove! Every single staff member is incredibly friendly and ready to help. I will be honest, I came here yesterday and forgot what I had ordered but I know it was the 17. Left with a food coma and a full belly. I am obsessed with their bun Bo hue, but I wanted to give their pho a try. I am never disappointed by this place. They aren't shy about their portions and it's always coming out fresh and hot. I don't think their broth is "greasy", its flavor. The place is always empty, but they do deserve more customers and attention. The workers are very attentive and sweet, they aren't overbearing and are friendly. The price is so reasonable for what they serve. I'll becoming back again soon. Yum! read more
I hope pho basil is here to stay! The food is good and the service is great. Even on a busy Sunday morning/afternoon, the staff still find time to check in on each table and provide us with whatever we need. And, they're good for small or big groups. I got the #18 pho, which has rare steak, brisket, flank, and tendon. I love how tender the brisket was, chefs kiss. read more

Came here during the week, with the family for dinner. Used to come to the old restaurant that used to be here, so we wanted to see what took it's place and what we could expect. Arrived about an hour before closing, and we were seated quickly. It was a quieter evening which wasn't bad, and we looked over the menus for a bit. Because we frequent other local Vietnamese restaurants, and are familiar with the common dishes it didn't take us long to figure out what we wanted. But it did take a little while to actually be seen to order; especially with the fact there were only a few other patrons. Maybe they assumed we weren't familiar with the dishes or whatever, but we knew pretty quickly. And then just waited for someone to come see if werl were ready. My boys went with two different types of Pho, my girlfriend ordered a Vermicelli noodle dish and I got a Pork Ban Mi sandwich. What was a little different was Pho Basil's was their Passion Fruit Soda. It sounded and looked interesting so I gave it a try, and it was really good. The sweetness of the fresh Passion Fruit puree, along with the carbonation of the soda. Made for an interesting drink spin. My boys went with a strawberry drink they typically get. And my girlfriend chose a classic Thai Tea. Overall: Nice upgrades to the old places, and a more likely feel with color and lighting. Service was a little slow at first, but the food was good. read more

Gave it some time before trying Pho Basil after seeing the signage/banner that Pho Dynasty had changed. About 8 tables of people dining on at lunchtime on a Sunday. At the counter I had to wait a few minutes before being helped. Got one order of the #26 grilled pork over vermicelli noodles ($12.50) and one order of the #13 Combination pho (only comes in the $14.50 Large size, and has a $1.50 upcharge) to go. Estimated wait time provided was 30 minutes. The grilled pork didn't have much of a char, was more of a "dry" BBQ flavor. The fish sauce was pretty weak/flat. The large combination pho broth was OK, only one beef ball in the whole container but otherwise had all the fixings: rare steak, flank, brisket, tendon, tripe, Basil, beansprouts, jalapeño, white and green onions, cilantro, hoisin, Sriracha, chili oil. Generous amount of noodles. Since Pho Le closed, we're still hunting for a decent Vietnamese spot around Elk Grove. So far, Pho Ivy is the winner. There is another Vietnamese place opening up I think near El Super Taco and T% so that may be next up on the list to check out. read more
I was craving for vermicelli so we came here to try it out. The service was friendly and quick. Inside and outside the restaurant was clean. The food was 10/10 DELICIOUS! Everything was so flavorful and the portions were excellent! Definitely coming back to eat here again. The banh mi is so so good too if you don't want to drive all the way to Stockton blvd lol read more
This place is off of Elk Grove - Florin and Calvine in the Bel Air plaza. This location was originally Pho Dynasty but has since made a comeback with new management, simple and clean decor, and attentive staff. The food here is simple, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. The big open windows really help put a pop into the photos! The pho broth was clean, fragrant, light, and full of umami. The Vietnamese coffee was bold, strong, and delightful, not super sweet like other locations. The calamari was seasoned, light crust to give it some flaky textures. read more
We decided to pay the newly opened pho basil a visit after seeing that they just took over pho dynasty . We came in during dinner time and there were about 4 tables filled . They had a sign on the front door stating they are not serving stir fry's at the moment, which was all good because we really just wanted soup . Upon walking in , we were greeted and seated . Their menu was simple and straightforward , but they don't have a drink menu as of yet . We kept it simple and ordered their crispy taro salad,bun bo hue, and an iced coffee to share . Everyone who came after us received their orders before us , and after 30-35 minutes of waiting , our food finally came . I felt like their crispy taro salad had too much going on . It came with a side of fish sauce , but the salad was already mixed with dressing . There was really no base, it just had deep fried taro strips , bell peppers, mint , shrimp and fried onions . As for the bun Bo hue, it tasted like spicy water. Its typically a spicy lemongrass based soup, but I couldn't taste the lemongrass . Overall, I think they gave plenty to work on . Service and food , especially. I miss pho dynasty :( read more
