    Spring Rolls
    Jenny Y.

Last month or so, I tried to come eat here, but they were closed and there were no business hours posted at the entrance or on Yelp. I had to call them today to make sure they were opened because it seems like they're opened randomly even though it says they're only closed on Mondays. 1. Spring rolls came with peanut sauce that was heated up in the microwave. You can tell when you look at the picture I posted. Other than that, the spring roll was mediocre, nothing special. 2. The bun bo hue broth was good. It was clear, but the flavor was there. They have different noodle options, which was kind of odd. The thick rice noodle is the one you want to choose. I think I would come back for the bun ho hue if I can catch them when they're opened.

Had lunch with my brother and his wife today here and I have to say I'm shocked! The restaurant itself seems very small and cramped sort of. The service was wonderful.. we did ask for a lot of things and never once did she give any attitude .. always with a smile! I had the special bun Bo hue .. and. Shared some spring roll appetizers .. the spring roll was fresh and the peanut sauce was ok. The bun bo hue on the other hand was delicious! The broth was full of flavor.. I have to say It's one of the best broth in sac for bun bo hue. Must try! Let me know what you think of it also!

We stopped by around 11:30 a.m. for an early lunch and were the first customers in, so we were seated right away. My friend and I both ordered the grilled pork and egg rolls with vermicelli noodles. We asked to leave off the peanuts and add extra bean sprouts. The food arrived fairly quickly. The grilled pork had great flavor, though it could have used a bit more char. A few pieces were also fatty and somewhat tough to chew. The egg rolls were actually very good, with a perfectly crispy exterior and flavorful filling inside. Overall, it was a good spot for Vietnamese food. The biggest plus is the convenience, since it is less than five minutes from my house.

Opted for the bun Bo hue and the nem nuong. Both solid options. The bun Bo hue, needed a bit more spice and I wanted a stronger lemongrass flavor but over all still very tasty. They didn't skimp on the proteins so the bowl is packed with meats. I like how they did add additional chili and shrimp paste on the side with out having to ask for it. They even let you pick your own style of noodles for their bowls. But I went with the standard thick rice noodle for my dish. The space is self is quaint, but they do have a good amount of seating. The tables are branded with another store - Goldpops, and the color scheme and decor seem to match the old space, but I'm assuming they've just rebranded and kept the previous furniture. The wait time to get our food wasn't too bad. Overall, I'd return.

Clean, bright inside, service good and friendly. Great food! I ordered Bun Nem Noung Dac Biet. Nice, fresh taste. I really noticed the garlic in the Nem Nuong. It was cooked great and very soft. Everything else was a great balance and tasted yummy! My wife had the Bun Bo Hue. It was just the perfect level of spiciness. It was not too hot; just perfect. They did bring various spices so you can make it as hot as you want. She said it was very good and everything was fresh. Our daughter had the "Ready-to-Enjoy Spring Rolls" (pre-rolled). I really liked that the pickled veggies were cut a little thicker than the ones we make at home and at other places. This gave it a nice crunch. The veggies were fresh and crisp. Definitely got to order these again, but maybe we'll try the House Special DIY. I really enjoyed our meal there and we will be back for sure?

Bun Bo Hue 3.5/5 - Delicious! Just not what I fell in love with in Saigon last 2 months!

Since they opened, I've gone here 3 times! It's only a mile from my house and the food is fresh and delicious! I was just in Vietnam for two months and the food there is just so good. It's hard to compare, but the way they do their noodle salad is spot on. The BBH is ok, I just kept eating at the same place in Saigon, District 3 because it was so good. It's hard to beat! However, the amount of protein they give here is abundant! After eating all the veggies & noodles, we still had so much meat left! We ate it all and agreed the meat portions here are definitely sharable. And the seafood eggrolls, my kids love it, but I love the original ones! I'm so sad I didn't get a picture of it with my huge noodle salad bowl! It was murder she wrote! Also, this place must be family owned because we see the same little crew and they are so sweet. Because their menu is small, they were able to get the food out to us quickly and very fresh. I believe that's also how they're able to be so generous with their portions is because they keep their menu very simple! The ambiance is bright, clean, welcoming and intimate! Highly recommend! It'll satisfy your Vietnamese food craving and not break your bank account!

Wanted to try a new place to eat and this came up. Always willing to eat Viet food. Restaurant was not busy at all when we walked in on a weekday for an early dinner. Service was great. Menu is limited to bbh, vermicelli plates, banh mis, and spring rolls. We tried the vermicelli plate and spring rolls. They were really tasty. Only thing was the place was a bit pricey. Was about $50 for two vermicelli plates and 4 spring rolls. Overall, we'd come back. Maybe try the banh mis next time

Drove past Dutch Bro and saw this place. I came in here with my sister to give it a try. I was pretty disappointed on the bun mi, the baguette was super hard and chewy. We ordered a couple of appetizers, 1 bun mi sandwich, and 1 bun Bo hue. The egg rolls and bun Bo hue was decent but nothing to rave about. My two nieces shared the vermicelli noodles. There's only one wait staff and the tables are crammed together. Overall, the service is slow and you have to ask for everything. Dinning area is not comfortable, they jam too much tables in a small space. The furnishings don't match. Most likely will not return.

Nice to see this new spot near my house offering a variety of classic Vietnamese dishes! I went for the vermicelli bowl today with the pork sausage and the pork egg roll. The egg roll was yummy, nice and crispy but it was just so small! It was like they cut it into smaller pieces just to make it seem like more quantity. The dish overall was small also. I wasn't full after like I would be at other places with the same dish. The meat tasted good but overall was nothing too special to be honest. I think I'd rather pay for a bigger portion elsewhere and get better value. I do hope they succeed though because this particular location seems to switch businesses quite often.

Glad a Vietnamese restaurant is around the corner. This place is really cozy and has cute decor. The nice lady asked if we wanted hot or cold water. How nice to have the option! Got hot water since it's cold out. Ordered the nem noung rolls, bun Bo hue and grilled pork banh mi. All tasted fresh, crispy and delicious. Great service and food.

This is a really cute and cozy Viet restaurant! Although the space is a bit tight, they organized it the best they could and everything looks great. Their menu is small, specializing specifically to bun bo hue (one of my favorite Vietnamese dishes ever)! So had to get that and their spring rolls! I really liked the spring rolls! The bun bo hue was good too, just not the best I've had and could use more flavor. Theirs is really loaded with meats so that's always a good point! Great service as well!

Went to Bun Mi Amor over the weekend for their soft opening and tried the bún bò Huế and nem nướng spring rolls. The bún bò Huế was incredibly aromatic with great depth of flavor. I'm very picky when it comes to bún bò Huế, and this one definitely hit the spot. They also offer shrimp paste on the side if you like that extra punch, just ask. Now the nem nướng spring rolls... oh. emmm. gee! The nem was packed with flavor and the texture was absolutely on point. Honestly, I think the well-known nem nướng spot in town might have some real competition. I loved it so much I had to order more to go. Customer service was excellent. We were greeted right away by a gentleman when we walked in, seated immediately, and the menu was explained thoroughly. The food also came out very quickly. Overall, I'll definitely be back again and again, especially since it's so close to home. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Best bun bo hue in Sacramento. Clean broth and lots of meat. Restaurant is small but clean. They have smoothies and a wifi code as well.

Always greeted at the door and pick your own seat, super easy! They take your drink order if you don't want water; note they have a boba/smoothie set-up too which my wife always grabs an avocado smoothie. Lately wife orders the fried crispy noodle combo (aka: bird's nest), and then a Phô bowl and of course A5: pork & shrimp spring roll. Servers check on you frequently for refills or anything you might need or just raise your hand and they'll come over. Pay at the desk. No frills no thrills and food is "Asian" comfort food especially when you don't want to cook.

The menu had a bit too much going on and in my opinion -- restaurants should have a speciality rather than offer so many items because taste and quality loses itself somewhere in the middle of 100 different menu options. I know my partner and I are pho snobs but what we had wasn't even pho. The broth was basically hot water with a tad of salt or chicken bouillon. There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

The sauce in the skillet was not too heavy or sweet. It had a nice balanced flavor. All the different foods that came on the skillet were good. The meatball was a tad sweet for me. The baguette was warm and crispy. So good. Very good dish and one of the better ones I've had. Grilled rib eye rice combo: 5/5. I could be wrong, but I thought the beef had a slight lemongrass flavor that I love. The meat was tender. We got the garlic rice with it and it definitely elevates the flavors. Would recommend trying it with the garlic rice Egg rolls: 5/5. Came out nice and hot and crispy. The flavor is on the lighter side, but I thought it was flavorful enough. It also comes with fish sauce to dip in for more flavor and it was really good with that as well. Our boys love egg rolls and they approved. lol Kids noodle soup/pho: 4/5. Generous portion for the kids to share. They keep it simple for the kids. Just rice noodles and sliced beef. For 4 people, the medium size catfish was the perfect size! It came with vermicelli, assorted veggies, rice paper, and dipping sauce. We also ordered the crab fried rice, tofu clay pot, pork chops, and the rock and roll beef. I must say after finishing the spring rolls, everything else tasted mediocre. The fried rice didn't stand out and a bit too salty. The pork chops were a bit dry, the tofu clay pot was very flavorful but too salty as well. The beef was tender but the flavors was alright. Grilled Butterflied Catfish DIY Wraps (Spring Rolls) 4/5* Tay Giang's version is ok and can satisfy my cravings, but it is a copy-cat version of the original slow-baked catfish from Southern California. It seems the catfish here is deep-fried, I believe to cut down on the wait time, but I still prefer the original Vietnamese version where they can take up to 45 minutes to slow roast the catfish. Still, this version is tasty with strong marination and slather of scallion/peanut oil. The deep frying creates a lot of crispy pieces for added texture to your spring roll. But warning.. if you order the small catfish, there isn't much meat and is mostly fried crispy parts, so I recommend the medium fish. Like all Vietnamese dishes, it comes with loads of fresh veggies and herbs. I also like that they provide the flattened vermicelli noodles (banh hoi) instead of rice noodles. They also give you a variety of sauces: tamarind fish sauce, regular fish sauce, and freshly chopped chilis to spice up as you'd like. Authentic Catfish Claypot 5/5* Catfish stewed in a peppery carmelized sauce. They didn't have the usual boiled egg with it, but this dish was bursting in flavor. Sweet, salty, savory, and lots of black pepper with hints of spice from the rest chilis. Best eaten with rice to soak up all the sticky sauce and flavor. This dish sends me back to my childhood days. Bun Bo Hue 4/5* Flavorful and lots of meats and veggies. I'm not a spicy eater, so I thoroughly enjoyed this BBH. Most other places make it too spicy right off the bat, but here they let you add your own spice. The noodles are springy and broth is perfectly salted to enhance the beefy flavors. Banh Xeo 1/5* Don't get this. This was terrible. The batter was so thick and deep fried, inside had too much bean sprouts and onions and not enough pork or shrimp. I've never seen onions in a banh xeo before and it was weird. The batter was what really ruined everything. Banh Xeo is supposed to be thin and crispy, but this was thick and crunchy. I've also tried their pho here and it was decent but not memorable. The star here, of course, is the catfish spring rolls. They do have an extensive menu though, serving a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes and well as vegetarian-friendly. They've gone thru tough times during the pandemic and I've seen vandalism and broken windows, but I'm glad they survived the pandemic, because this is the spot when it comes to Vietnamese catfish dishes. I'm hoping they stick around for many more years; we often frequent Tay Giang for dinner.

It's very spacious and full of color, with a beautiful barrier of plants that naturally guides you to where you begin the ordering process. The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning mural on the wall, paired with bright red-orange chairs that gave the restaurant so much personality. The ceiling, decorated with bamboo-style plates, added a unique touch, and the natural light pouring in made the whole place feel warm and inviting. Everything was laid out in a way that felt easy and straightforward. O - Ordering Experience The ordering process was smooth and efficient. You order and pay at the front, and once you're done, they direct you to your assigned seating. I really appreciated how organized everything was. Before we even sat down, all of the pho add-ons--sprouts, onions, mint, and lemons--were already waiting for us at the table, along with the drinks we had ordered. Within just a few minutes, our food arrived. The service was impressively fast, and everything came out steaming hot with a beautiful presentation. This is definitely not your average pho spot. O - Overall Taste & Quality We started with the beef short rib appetizer, and I honestly had to double-check that it was the appetizer because it far exceeded my expectations. The portion was generous and perfect for sharing. For the pho, the bowl was filled with fresh, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles that were tender and not at all chewy, and an abundance of quality meats--not scraps. They definitely do not skimp on portions here. Even after sharing, there was still plenty left to take home. I left feeling completely satisfied and even happier knowing I truly got my money's worth. D - Delivery/Dining Experience This place absolutely exceeded my expectations and has quickly become one of my favorite pho restaurants. The atmosphere was clean, vibrant, and very pleasant. Everything felt thoughtfully organized from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. I especially liked the pay-upfront concept because it allows you to simply relax and enjoy your meal without having to flag someone down for the bill later. The entire dining experience felt smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable. #PhoLovers #WorthEveryBite #FreshAndFlavorful #GreatAtmosphere #FastService #FoodReview #LocalFavorite #PhoSpot
