Finally got to try this place out after hearing about it for so long! I didn't know they had an Elk Grove location because I was more familiar with their Davis location. My friend and I came here to eat dinner after shopping around the plaza that this place was located in. Since it was in a busy shopping plaza, there was plenty of parking. Walking in, I loved how they decorated the interior of the place. The ceiling was my favorite touch of decorations they did. Looking at the menu, they mainly had pho with also some appetizers and other dishes, but from what I've heard, they are known for their pho bowls. With that being said, I ended up ordering the #3 Pho bowl which has brisket in it and I also got a Thai tea. I didn't realize it until they brought my bowl of pho to the table but the menu didn't have options of pho bowl sizes to choose from because when my pho bowl got brought to my table, the bowl was huuuuge! Which I didn't mind because I was starving and I was actually able to finish all my pho. I can't express how good their pho broth was. I liked how the broth didn't taste too salty and it was overpowering. I also appreciated the generous portion and balance of the amount of noodles to protein that the bowl had in it. Also, as my friend and I were getting to leave, I saw a server holding 2 bowls of pho that had a big bone marrow in it! I will definitely need to come back hopefully soon because I am already craving to eat another bowl of pho from them and have my husband and parents also see how good their pho bowls are! And maybe will order that pho bowl with the big bone marrow that I saw as I was leaving the restaurant!

Delicious food. Big portion. Simple menus that is easy to understand. The food is worth the price.

Absolutely, the best pho I've had in NorCal. Sit lo is not your ordinary pho shop. I've never had to order at the register, pay first and then be seated. But hey, it's their system and it works. I ordered the #13 Saigon Special for $17 bucks and it came with meatballs, ribeye, tendon, flank and tripe. It was a fat bowl. it had lots of meat and the broth was very good! What made it the best pho I've had in Sac/NorCal? The broth was bomb. It had all the essence of pho broth and spices. I loved how tender their meat was. They give free scallion oil and pickled onions which elevated the pho. They have these huge dinosaur bone with bone marrow 10/10. Their chili oil was dark and spicy. Sit lo's pho definitely hit the spot. Will def come back again.

The Hanoi pho comes with a side of Chinese donuts, I haven't ate pho without them since trying it this way lol. Pho broth is solid and although it is on the pricier side for a "quick pho spot", I'd argue their portions (esp meat) are worth the price. I like their self serve tea and water station and service is super fast.

Come here for something quick, fast, and easy. Order at the counter and they will direct you which table to sit at. Water and free tea(hot or cold) is self serve, which is nice you don't have to wait for anyone to refill. My go to is the Saigon pho and I always love the pickled onions they provide. Broth is good but not the best I've had. Plenty of tables but more difficult in a bigger group.

Cold weather in my opinion always calls for a good bowl of Pho. And so that is what I enjoyed when I visited this location. When you walk in, you view the menu at the counter above head. Pick what you would like, pay and then are assigned a table and your offer is brought to you. There is a complimentary water/tea bar. Your assigned table will already have the side fixings that would normally go into your soup. As I started eating my meal, the foot traffic started to pick up with more people arriving. My meal plus a Thai tea ran me around the $20 mark. My table area on the floor could have been cleaned at bit better as there was still evidence of food on the ground. Small dining area but was able to enjoy what I went in there for.

We came here with a party of 7 around brunchtime the day after Thanksgiving and had an above average experience. The food was fabulous, although the place did feel a bit impersonal. The ordering system is akin to Subway - upon entering, choose and pay for your bowl of pho, and then find your seat in the restaurant. I always find it a bit weird to have to decide on a tip before even getting to sample the goods, but oh well... The servers were super fast to bring out our food though, and the Saigon Pho did not disappoint! I did have to raise an eyebrow at the bill, nearly $60 for 3 bowls of pho...gone are the golden days of a good bowl of noodles under $10 bucks!

My viet coffee was already at my table before I finished ordering. The service is FAST. We went during lunch time on a Saturday the place was packed but cleared when we left too. They open late and its prime location. My family like the fresh noodles but im a vermicelli girly since I like the broth to cling to my noodles. I enjoyed it as I get to dress up my bowl. I like how they give you a plate of raw sliced onions and oil. I ordered their signature saigon pho. Next time I will order their premium. Its literally a fast food pho spot. Idk what people are expecting some life changing pho. Its still solid. Order your food and go sit down!

I absolutely love Sit Lo Saigon! Their Hanoi style pho is my go to the broth is so flavorful and comforting, and I really appreciate all the extra garnishes like fresh green onions and the soft, fresh noodles. It truly feels like an ode to the pho I had when I visited Hanoi. Every bowl brings back memories.

Prime location that offers late evening access to great tasting Pho!!! Simple menu = fast service. Like, you order - self serve to water or tea - next thing you know your bowl of soup is on your table. We ordered their most popular item on the menu #13 & #14 and they were equally impressive with the size, the amount and the taste!!! Place offers both indoor and outdoor seating, cool vibe, mid on the "friendly staff" - just felt they were just on the go, go, go. Not a "enjoy your meal" or any kind of follow up but I guess kinda expected with the fact that you have to get in line to order and pay before you can take a seat. Is this why I only gave it a 3 star vs a 5 star? NOPE. The 3 star is because everyone does everything - from register to delivering your food / drinks to cleaning the table and they were THE SAME gloves from one task to another. Found that so unsanitary and only noticed this after we devoured our bowls of soup. Gloves serves protection for the one wearing aka the staff but not the customers. You shouldn't touch my "fresh bowl" of soup after cleaning a dirty table including using a dirty rag to wipe the table to serving me my food. The gloves gives the staff a false sense of "clean" because they cant feel, maybe not even notice or see that their soiled. Not ok and I hope the owner sees this review and make the proper adjustments. Soup is great folks - like REALLY REALLY good. Gotta end on a good note cuz this place near my house and I want them to stay open! Thanks

Sit Lo Saigon is conveniently located inside a plaza with restaurants and stores-- plenty of parking. But the pho is what you would typically expect. There's a small selection of pho and drinks available. There's no rice plates -- only pho. You pay at the counter and they assign you a table for seating. Your meal is brought out to you, the staff is friendly. The food, however, is what you would expect. The broth is watered down, no flavor. Generous portion of serving size with a good mixture of the noodles and meat. It's edible -- it is decent but nothing memorable. I would most likely not go back because I have had Pho that is more flavorful and delicious elsewhere.

Big fan that this restaurant is open for those late night pho cravings. They were having a deal for I believe 20% off if you came at a certain time and we were a couple minutes early and didn't catch the deal. I believe it was due to a POS particularity but no biggie. The restaurant is casual and after ordering you get a number and seat yourself. There's water available and spoons/chopsticks/etc. are available at your table. We got the #1 and #7 with thin noodles and my partner got a Thai Tea. The pho was flavorful and delicious, served very hot and a large portion with many noodles. I do believe they're all one size and it's a good quantity for the pay. A nice touch that I loved and haven't experienced eating at other pho restaurants is the serving of raw onion along with the veggies. It's good pho, especially when you can't get it any other place after 9pm.

#14 Hanoi Pho - Wok fried ribeye and garlic with fat noodles and hazelnut coffee
    Jenny H.

Food - My first time trying wok fried ribeye and garlic pho with fat noodles and it was delicious! - I also ordered a hazelnut coffee, it kept me awake late last night. - All the sauce options in each table with chopsticks, spoons, and napkins. Service - Very friendly, attentive, and fast service. Ambiance - Loved the decorations. - I did see a cockroach on the floor in my corner table. I'll be back to try the other dishes!

Theres soda, sweet drinks but no alcohol serve. We came here for dinner around 6pm, not busy which was perfect. We were greeted my the server and seated right away in a booth near the entrance. Food came out pretty quickly. We ordered the #3 Red-Tonkotsu, #11 Shio Ramen & Unagi Rice Bowl as well appetizer, Shrimp Har Gao. The #3 was creamy with a spicy, savory kick to it. The #11 was light with subtle taste, not too intense like the miso or soy sauce flavors. Both ramen were flavorful. My dish was the unagi rice which contains rice, scrambled eggs and grilled eel. The portion was pretty big, tasted buttery, and tender, with a sweet-savory balanced. It was good but I've had better, meaning that the way the eggs were made, made a difference. Just know this dish did said scrambled so I wasn't expecting the slighty beaten running eggs that im used to when eating this bowl. The shrimp har Gao was mediocre, not flavored until you dipped into the sauce. Overall, all 3 dishes were well made. Appetizers was not my favorite. Service was great! Will definitely come back more often.

They are always so very busy, so don't expect customer service there, just great food. Licious has the exact opposite, great service and okay food. We ordered the following: Szechuan green beans- cooked perfectly with a crunch still. Lacked flavor- not spicy. Fish and tofu clay pot- the fish tasted sweet, oddly. The fried tofu was perfect. Juicy and soft, Beef short ribs skillet- very fatty. You are paying for fat. Maybe it was a bad day. Tiger prawns with pumpkin- it is battered with salted egg, but it's not that salty. I wish it was saltier because I love salted egg. Battered and fried perfectly!!! The Tiger prawns are HUGE!!!!!! I've never eaten such big prawns in my life. The pumpkin was so soft and sweet with the perfect crunch from the salted egg batter. IT JUST NEEDED MORE SALT. Lots of pumpkin! Lobster- lacked flavor and was a very small lobster with not a lot of meat. Salt and pepper fried tofu for appetizer- yummy yummy. Perfect. Whole roasted duck- flavor was perfect, but the skin texture was stale. It wasn't like how it tastes at Tealicious. I don't know why the skin wasn't crunchy. Shrimp and egg chow fun- lacked flavor and too wet. Service was amazing for our two tables total of 18. They kept checking on us and even packed all of our food. There were two servers and only 3 other small tables with ours. The restaurant is quite small and is only for up to I believe 35 people on Theo occupant load signage. I would come back if I craved the Tiger prawns with pumpkin, but nothing else we tried. Maybe I'll try the fried rice next time and do an updated review.

We ended up at Journey To The Dumpling, and our experience was surprisingly... amazing??. Considering my party of 17 people, I knew that without reservations, we were going to have to wait a bit before they could seat all of us. And when they did, they gave us the BEST server. I forgot his name, but he did such an amazing job, especially tasked with handling a bigger party that's my family. Amazing spirit throughout the dinner and was extremely kind. He guided us through the menu and gave us recommendations and even told us we were ordering too much for our tables (which we should've listened to him... he was right, lol). I regret not remembering his name, but he tried the special crack sauce we made and brought from home so if you're reading this & I'm talking about you!! My family adored you!! Onto the food... amazing. We ordered so much, and yet I didn't snap a single picture??? lol. Here are my ratings with no context: Beef Roll: 3.5/5 Green beans (we got all three flavors: garlic, black bean, spicy sichuan-style): 5/5 Seasonal veggies: 5/5 (I love veggies idk what to tell you) Peking spare ribs: 4/5 Salt & pepper calamari: 3/5 Xiao long bao: 4.75/5 Vegetarian dumplings: 3.7/5 Wonton in chili oil: 6/5 (not a typo, this is my fav) BBQ pork: 4/5 Yang chow fried rice: 4/5 Chow fun (we tried every protein): 3.5/5 | with gravy: 4/5 Anyways, safe to say, we'll be back.

Food: 3.8 Service: 4.0…read more Updated visit 4/17: last minute Friday night date with the wifey because if I had to cook we would have eaten around 8pm. Always greeted at the door and pick your own seat, super easy! They take your drink order if you don't want water; note they have a boba/smoothie set-up too which my wife always grabs an avocado smoothie. Lately wife orders the fried crispy noodle combo (aka: bird's nest), and then a Phô bowl and of course A5: pork & shrimp spring roll. Servers check on you frequently for refills or anything you might need or just raise your hand and they'll come over. Pay at the desk. No frills no thrills and food is "Asian" comfort food especially when you don't want to cook.

Needed a quick bite before driving back to the Bay. We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and it…read morewasn't too busy. We were seated right away and given menus. The menu had a bit too much going on and in my opinion -- restaurants should have a speciality rather than offer so many items because taste and quality loses itself somewhere in the middle of 100 different menu options. I know my partner and I are pho snobs but what we had wasn't even pho. The broth was basically hot water with a tad of salt or chicken bouillon. There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

Took my parents here for dinner and it was a fun dining experience with the DIY spring rolls…read more Highly recommend calling in advance to make a reservation as the restaurant is pretty small and they may run out of the DIY deep fried catfish spring rolls. For 4 people, the medium size catfish was the perfect size! It came with vermicelli, assorted veggies, rice paper, and dipping sauce. We also ordered the crab fried rice, tofu clay pot, pork chops, and the rock and roll beef. I must say after finishing the spring rolls, everything else tasted mediocre. The fried rice didn't stand out and a bit too salty. The pork chops were a bit dry, the tofu clay pot was very flavorful but too salty as well. The beef was tender but the flavors was alright. Next time I come, I would just order the large catfish spring rolls and maybe the pork or beef skewers.

Tay Giang is the only place in Sacramento that serves up DIY catfish spring rolls, and is great…read morewhen you're craving something healthy and different. Grilled Butterflied Catfish DIY Wraps (Spring Rolls) 4/5* Tay Giang's version is ok and can satisfy my cravings, but it is a copy-cat version of the original slow-baked catfish from Southern California. It seems the catfish here is deep-fried, I believe to cut down on the wait time, but I still prefer the original Vietnamese version where they can take up to 45 minutes to slow roast the catfish. Still, this version is tasty with strong marination and slather of scallion/peanut oil. The deep frying creates a lot of crispy pieces for added texture to your spring roll. But warning.. if you order the small catfish, there isn't much meat and is mostly fried crispy parts, so I recommend the medium fish. Like all Vietnamese dishes, it comes with loads of fresh veggies and herbs. I also like that they provide the flattened vermicelli noodles (banh hoi) instead of rice noodles. They also give you a variety of sauces: tamarind fish sauce, regular fish sauce, and freshly chopped chilis to spice up as you'd like. Authentic Catfish Claypot 5/5* Catfish stewed in a peppery carmelized sauce. They didn't have the usual boiled egg with it, but this dish was bursting in flavor. Sweet, salty, savory, and lots of black pepper with hints of spice from the rest chilis. Best eaten with rice to soak up all the sticky sauce and flavor. This dish sends me back to my childhood days. Bun Bo Hue 4/5* Flavorful and lots of meats and veggies. I'm not a spicy eater, so I thoroughly enjoyed this BBH. Most other places make it too spicy right off the bat, but here they let you add your own spice. The noodles are springy and broth is perfectly salted to enhance the beefy flavors. Banh Xeo 1/5* Don't get this. This was terrible. The batter was so thick and deep fried, inside had too much bean sprouts and onions and not enough pork or shrimp. I've never seen onions in a banh xeo before and it was weird. The batter was what really ruined everything. Banh Xeo is supposed to be thin and crispy, but this was thick and crunchy. I've also tried their pho here and it was decent but not memorable. The star here, of course, is the catfish spring rolls. They do have an extensive menu though, serving a variety of authentic Vietnamese dishes and well as vegetarian-friendly. They've gone thru tough times during the pandemic and I've seen vandalism and broken windows, but I'm glad they survived the pandemic, because this is the spot when it comes to Vietnamese catfish dishes. I'm hoping they stick around for many more years; we often frequent Tay Giang for dinner.
