Bun Bo Bue and Hanoi Pho
    Jenny Y.

One of my go-to pho spots in Elk Grove. You order first, then get seated, with both indoor and outdoor seating available. My favorite is the Hanoi pho--it comes with a Chinese fried doughnut on the side. I like that it's loaded with green onions, and the beef is already cooked and comes in generous portions. The broth has great flavor, and I always go for the thin noodles. Occasionally, if they're pre-cooked, the noodles can be a bit too soft and stick together. Service is quick, and there's never a long wait for my order.

So I had a Yelp event out in Elk Grove and afterwards we were looking for a quick bite-so we ventured over to the shopping center across the street and the options were plentiful. We decided on pho at Sit Lo Saigon after reading the reviews on Yelp from a few Yelp friends that I respect. Parking at this restaurant is plentiful as it shares a lot with many other businesses in a busy shopping plaza. This is the kind of place that you walk up to the counter and place your order then they assign you a seat. Its a very casual ,comfortable restaurant. There were two of us eating so we decided to go with the #3($15.95)which is with just brisket & the #4($15.95) which is brisket and meatballs. After a few minutes of sitting down, they brought our bowls out-I'd say less than 6-7 minutes. My first response was "WOW!!" The sheer size of that bowl is what struck me-it was huge. Then again for $15.95,I think it makes sense. I'm a weirdo when it comes to pho,as I eat mine in a particular way.I drink all the broth before eating any of the noodles or meats or side additions. So after doctoring this bowl up with the sides, onions, bean sprouts, jalapeños,lime,Thai basil and chili oil-I went to town on that broth. I thoroughly enjoyed that broth,It had a rich flavor that truly only comes from a long simmering process-It was very good. After enjoying all that broth,I went after the brisket and noodles, Slurp City for sure!! The noodles were wonderful and the brisket was nicely flavored and textured. I really enjoyed my #3 from Sit Lo Saigon. That being said, after dissecting their menu a bit,I feel like I missed out on some quality items. The Oxtail or the Bone Marrow versions of their pho sounds like they would be a whole different level-so I plan on coming back when I'm out here and plan on giving one or both of those pho bowls a try-they sound amazing and if the broth in those versions are anything like the #3,it will for sure be a memorable meal. In closing,If you find yourself out in Elk Grove and find yourself craving some amazing pho,I'd recommend fully stopping by Sit Lo Saigon and giving their tasty dishes a try.

I will start by saying im not super picky with my pho. Still, I can say that I love Sit Lo!!!! I also love a lot of hoisin sauce with my pho but with Sit Lo I put a lot less sometimes even none and the broth is good. I also love the self serve water and tea that they have, super refreshing at the end. They also dont skimp on the greens. Any time I ask for more limes or onions, they do not hesitate to give more;) Plenty of parking and stores around this location as well!!

Since moving to Elk Grove, we have looked at a few places to find our "go-to" pho spot and this place is among the top on our list. I ordered the special pho and bone marrow with broth. I was extremely happy with the portion size of it! Most of the time when I order pho at other places, I finish too quickly. But here, I always leave with a full tummy with left overs to take home as well. The pho broth has a rich, deep flavor and the ingredients taste fresh. And the bone marrow is MASSIVE with a good amount of marrow in it as well as extra meat on the outside. I also love how they have tea as one of the complimentary drink options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My only complaint is that the pho spoons look like they have been used and abused. They are kind of unsightly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Other than that, I will be a returning customer!

Came in with a big group but they were very accommodating and got out our orders out pretty quickly.. The soup base was very flavorful I got the number 1 . After a while a bigger group came in for a graduation and we decided to leave since we were done and so they could have somewhere to sit , the staff did not rush us and made sure we were good . I would recommend

My son has been raving about this place for months so I decided to finally check it out. This is a place where you walk right up to the register and place your order. The gals behind the register were super friendly and helpful for a first timer. I opted for the #1 pho bowl with ribeye and my husband decided to try the #4 pho bowl with brisket and meatballs and the fresh thicker noodles. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place was plenty busy but there were a few empty tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice and clean inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] One of the workers already had a table ready for us with all the extras already at the table. The extras consist of bean sprouts, Thai basil, cilantro, limes and sliced jalapeños for those who like it spicy. I think our pho was brought out in about 5 minutes, crazy fast! We experimented with the sauces at the table - hoisin was my favorite addition. As for the dish....WOW. The broth was so rich and tasteful and truly tastes like it was cooked for 72 hours as advertised. The meat (ribeye) was tender and so flavorful. The noodles and veggies were very fresh. The amount of soup was insane. You truly get your moneys worth here as we had plenty of leftovers for another meal! I highly recommend and would return!

One word. WOW. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When we first walked in, we were greeted by staff and noticed the surplus of customers in the restaurant on a random Monday night at 9:30-10pm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] A line soon followed behind us as we ordered. The person at reg was extremely kind and informative! We finally ordered and went to the water station. They also served iced/hot tea which was an excellent treat before we started our meal. We sat down at our table, and our food came out not even 5 mins later. I got the pho hanoi? Their special #14. My partner got the #5. We were blown away by the quickness and the flavor of the food. Also... the portion is HUGE. We also got complimentary sprouts/onions/(basil or mint?)/lime + condiments at the table and this donut bread, all products incredibly fresh. We ended up ordering a Thai tea as well, SO GOOD. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside was super cute, colorful, cheery vibe, and very cleanly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] All in all, this place will be our new spot to get a late night grub. Again the portions are huge.. so come hungry.

Sit lo Saigon is a casual Vietnamese Pho restaurant located in the Target shopping center on Laguna Blvd and Bruceville Rd where orders are placed at the front counter. Menu consists mainly of pho, appetizers, and beverages. We ordered a couple of bowls of pho, one of which was made with fresh noodles... it was quite better than the other bowl made with dried noodles. We thought the broth was good-tasting but average. The premium pho bowl had ox tail, short rib, and tendon - quite decadent and worth the premium price. We also tried their iced lemon tea and found them refreshing and delicious. Service was minimal. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Tables were clean and we sat ourselves.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance is clean and warm.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I was curious to try Hanoi style pho and saw they specialize here so decided to try it. My friends love this place and I can see why. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is nicely decorated and modern looking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] You first order at the cashier and then they tell you the table to sit at. We ordered the Oxtail pho ($19.50) and the Hanoi Pho ($18.95). Service was super fast. They came out instantly with the food. They had onions, bean spouts and vegetables on the side. The biggest difference between regular southern Vietnamese pho and Hanoi (Northern Vietnamese pho) is the broth. Hanoi style has a more clear and clean broth with different cut of meat. It also has flat noodles. The Chinese donut on the side was also a nice touch. The oxtail was very delicious as well. Very rich in flavor and tasty oxtail bones. I like how big the bowls were. I got so full. They also offer hot tea, cold ice water and regular water station. This place definitely specializes in pho ONLY and I can taste the high quality in the soups.

Absolutely, the best pho I've had in NorCal. Sit lo is not your ordinary pho shop. I've never had to order at the register, pay first and then be seated. But hey, it's their system and it works. I ordered the #13 Saigon Special for $17 bucks and it came with meatballs, ribeye, tendon, flank and tripe. It was a fat bowl. it had lots of meat and the broth was very good! What made it the best pho I've had in Sac/NorCal? The broth was bomb. It had all the essence of pho broth and spices. I loved how tender their meat was. They give free scallion oil and pickled onions which elevated the pho. They have these huge dinosaur bone with bone marrow 10/10. Their chili oil was dark and spicy. Sit lo's pho definitely hit the spot. Will def come back again.

Come here for something quick, fast, and easy. Order at the counter and they will direct you which table to sit at. Water and free tea(hot or cold) is self serve, which is nice you don't have to wait for anyone to refill. My go to is the Saigon pho and I always love the pickled onions they provide. Broth is good but not the best I've had. Plenty of tables but more difficult in a bigger group.

Lots of character in the restaurant.

F.O.O.D. Review F - First Impression [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the moment we walked in, the space felt open, vibrant, and welcoming. It's very spacious and full of color, with a beautiful barrier of plants that naturally guides you to where you begin the ordering process.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The first thing that caught my eye was the stunning mural on the wall, paired with bright red-orange chairs that gave the restaurant so much personality.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The ceiling, decorated with bamboo-style plates, added a unique touch, and the natural light pouring in made the whole place feel warm and inviting.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything was laid out in a way that felt easy and straightforward.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] O - Ordering Experience The ordering process was smooth and efficient. You order and pay at the front, and once you're done, they direct you to your assigned seating. I really appreciated how organized everything was. Before we even sat down, all of the pho add-ons--sprouts, onions, mint, and lemons--were already waiting for us at the table, along with the drinks we had ordered. Within just a few minutes, our food arrived. The service was impressively fast, and everything came out steaming hot with a beautiful presentation. This is definitely not your average pho spot. O - Overall Taste & Quality We started with the beef short rib appetizer, and I honestly had to double-check that it was the appetizer because it far exceeded my expectations. The portion was generous and perfect for sharing. For the pho, the bowl was filled with fresh, flavorful broth, perfectly cooked noodles that were tender and not at all chewy, and an abundance of quality meats--not scraps. They definitely do not skimp on portions here. Even after sharing, there was still plenty left to take home. I left feeling completely satisfied and even happier knowing I truly got my money's worth. D - Delivery/Dining Experience This place absolutely exceeded my expectations and has quickly become one of my favorite pho restaurants. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere was clean, vibrant, and very pleasant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Everything felt thoughtfully organized from the moment we walked in to the moment we left.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I especially liked the pay-upfront concept because it allows you to simply relax and enjoy your meal without having to flag someone down for the bill later. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The entire dining experience felt smooth, peaceful, and enjoyable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] #PhoLovers #WorthEveryBite #FreshAndFlavorful #GreatAtmosphere #FastService #FoodReview #LocalFavorite #PhoSpot

We came here with a party of 7 around brunchtime the day after Thanksgiving and had an above average experience. The food was fabulous, although the place did feel a bit impersonal. The ordering system is akin to Subway - upon entering, choose and pay for your bowl of pho, and then find your seat in the restaurant. I always find it a bit weird to have to decide on a tip before even getting to sample the goods, but oh well... The servers were super fast to bring out our food though, and the Saigon Pho did not disappoint! I did have to raise an eyebrow at the bill, nearly $60 for 3 bowls of pho...gone are the golden days of a good bowl of noodles under $10 bucks!

Their pork spring rolls are one of the most popular items, and for good reason. The pork patty is flavorful, the vegetables are always fresh, and everything comes together for a light and refreshing meal. You can order them already rolled or make them yourself at the table, which is a fun option if you're dining in. The bánh bèo (steamed rice cakes with savory toppings) is another must-try. Service was slow, and our food took a long time to arrive even though the restaurant was not busy. The bigger issue was the payment process. The menu displays one set of prices, but when paying by credit card, each item on the receipt appeared approximately 4% higher than the advertised menu price. Rather than showing a separate credit-card surcharge, the additional amount was built directly into the itemized food prices, making it difficult to determine the actual menu cost versus the card-processing charge. When I raised the issue, the server initially stated there was a credit-card fee and acknowledged that both payment options should have been presented. The server also pointed out that there was a small sign next to the register indicating a 4% credit card fee. However, I felt the concern was dismissed rather than addressed. If menu prices are cash prices, customers should be clearly informed and given a meaningful opportunity to choose between cash and credit pricing before being directed to the payment screen. What makes this feel deceptive is that the surcharge is not shown as a separate line item. Instead, it appears to be folded directly into the food prices on the receipt. As a customer, that makes it difficult to know how much of the total is actually food and how much is a credit-card fee. It creates the impression that the pricing is designed to obscure the surcharge rather than disclose it transparently. The payment terminal also calculated suggested tips on the total after tax rather than the food subtotal, resulting in higher suggested tip amounts. Between the hidden surcharge in the item prices and tip suggestions based on the after-tax total, it felt like a subtle way to collect more money from customers without clearly explaining how the charges were being calculated. The food was good, especially the Nem Nuong Cuon, but the lack of transparency around pricing and the slow service left a negative impression.

The menu had a bit too much going on and in my opinion -- restaurants should have a speciality rather than offer so many items because taste and quality loses itself somewhere in the middle of 100 different menu options. I know my partner and I are pho snobs but what we had wasn't even pho. The broth was basically hot water with a tad of salt or chicken bouillon. There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

This was the first time it has ever been like this. We always order the glass noodles and this time, we did not find little crab chunks like we have in the past. Maybe it was an oversight or forgotten? Flavor was still there but definitely not of the same quality. The Bo Ne was still yummy. Now, the bo tai chanh was so good before, this time there was barely any beef. For the price, and the name of the dish, I expect it to be a lot of beef or at least a decent amount. Instead we got a ton of pickled veggies and onions piled into a mound with some slices of beef hidden in there somewhere. I ate mostly pickled veggies. I ordered the beef banh mi -- the bread was perfectly toasted, the beef was tender and full of flavor, and the vegetables inside paired so well with the meat. Good service & good food. This might honestly be my new go-to spot.

This place is okay. Most of the food was decent…read more My pho was average at best. The broth by itself wasn't great, but wasn't bad. I've had better and have had worse. The portion was good for me, but the large didn't look like a large size from other restaurants. The mango salad was probably the best dish of the night. I really enjoyed it and our table finished the whole thing. The rice plates are good. I tried a piece of the grilled chicken and it had great flavor. The nuoc mam/Cham tasted great as well. What really made this place 3 stars was their egg rolls. I love egg rolls. But the one served to us either had spoiled meat, old meat or was freezer burnt. Whatever it was, it tasted so bad I did not finish it. It had a really off putting fried spoiled meat taste AND smell. And was really oily. Thinking about it makes my stomach churn. I don't know if I would trust getting this again if I come back. Service was great. They were attentive without being overbearing. They provided great service to every one that came in. The restaurant was clean and parking on a weeknight was easy. If I do come back, I'll go get my usual go to of rice plates. Would've given them 4 stars if not for the spoiled egg rolls.

Quick friendly service! We ordered Lychee & Lemonade, Thai Tea, Egg rolls, Pork & Shrimp Spring…read morerolls Pork and Shrimp Pho Tai, Pho Ribeye and a Pork & Shrimp Bun. The drinks came out quickly as well as the Pho bowls. The Pho portions were large and served steaming hot. Next came the appetizers. The Egg rolls were the lacy crunchy type which is not common in Hawaii. A bit greasy. Would have loved the rolls to have been drained better. I was told they were tasty. The Pork and Shrimp rolls were hefty rolls that is served with a peanut sauce. I was told the peanut sauce was just ok. Those who tried it commented that the shrimp was seasoned and not just blanched. My Pork and Shrimp Bun was essentially a deconstructed spring roll sans the rice paper wrapper so I did not partake in the apps. My dish was also a generous portion. Over half came home with me for tomorrow's lunch. I inquired what the pickled jalapeño and garlic condiment was supposed to be used for as I also saw this at another pho restaurant we tried in Elk Grove. The server said any dish! Pho Bistro is located in an older strip mall with lots of parking which is a plus. Although the menu is not extensive, I would like to return to try other dishes in this casual restaurant. I loved that several servers stopped by our table to check on us. Support local small business and give Pho Bistro a try! Don't forget to tip generously! The Lychee lemonade and Thai Tea were both refreshing and enjoyed on this humid day! Sorry, forgot to snap a pic.

The grilled shrimp spring rolls are one of a kind I love how they have chives in the middle. This place isn't the biggest but I love that about it. I usually go alone and sit in the corner set my phone up, put my earphones in and watch tv while I enjoy my nice hot bowl of pho tai (rare steak) and grilled shrimp spring rolls mmm so much comfort it gives me every-time I take a trip there. Lastly I've recently tried their Thai iced tea and it was DELICIOUS! For someone who doesn't care those drinks too much it was great! Speaking of pho I'm overdue for my next fix. See you soon pho bistro!
