First time here. I ordered the Salted Fish Fried Rice. Also tried the wonton noodles. I like the egg noodles & soup was tasty. The fried rice was good but it is salty. I added chili oil to it. The chili oil is good & it's not too spicy. Staff were friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It wasn't busy when I was first seated but shortly after only the 2 big tables were empty. Restaurant isnt really big.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Looks like they get a few to go orders as well as I saw a few people in to order take out. Plenty of parking

Best roasted duck in Sac, hands down! Skin is super crispy and glossy, meat is juicy and flavorful! The beef chow fun is also amazing too! You can tell the noodles are fresh, tender beef, crunchy bean sprouts and green onion. Everything tasted fresh and made with care. Will definitely be back!

It has been a minute since I have visited Rice & Noodle, and they never disappoint! Their portions are generous and food tastes fresh. I ordered a beef chow fun and hainan chicken rice plate to-go. I called in to order and the food was ready for pickup by the time I arrived (15 mins). Food was packaged well and didn't leak. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cashier was friendly and the restaurant looked bustling with people, so you know the food is good![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Beef chow fun was good, not oily, and didn't skimp on beef. It could use more wok hei but flavor was there nonetheless! Hainan chicken was refreshing for the warm day and there were plenty of pieces, enough for me to portion for two meals. I appreciate the added vegetables too to balance the meal! Overall, would definitely recommend if you're looking for a solid place for chicken plates. I'm looking forward to trying more of the new items on the menu

Happened to be in Elk Grove yesterday and stumbled upon this small mom-and-pop shop for a quick bite. My wife had the beef noodle soup, which was good. The broth is on the lighter side -- perfect as a hangover cure -- but she's more used to the richer, bolder styles of beef noodle soup. Just a heads-up if that's your preference too! I had the Hainan chicken rice plate. The chicken was perfectly cooked and served cold, with just a slight pink hue near the bone (not undercooked). The rice was seasoned beautifully -- I'd honestly come back just for this dish alone. They also served us complimentary small bowls of soup, which was a nice touch and much appreciated. The server was very kind and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior has been recently renovated, and I really liked their new chairs and the elegant tables -- it gives the place a surprisingly fancy feel.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would definitely come back in the near future to try their other items.

I'm in between a 3.5 and 4 star because I want to try some of their other dishes to get a feel of their consistency. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a comfortable sit-down restaurant that reminds me of home a little bit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I came by myself and was seated quickly. Service was great! It was mainly two people running the store front but they were both friendly and efficient with their work. I tried their House Special Noodles and their pork ear and tripe dish. The pork ear could have been a little softer and more seasoned but the beef tripe was on the saltier and juicier side so they balanced each other out. The house noodles are a big portion! Seasoned on the lighter end but I enjoyed the sauce. I didn't get to try the Hainan chicken this time but will have to try it next time!

Best place for comfort chinese food near my house! I come here once every week and the employees are always welcoming and friendly :) I even got complimentary soup as an appetizer. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy and warm decoration as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

    Cream cheese rangoons

I was a bit skeptical about coming here since the reviews are a mix of old and new management but our experience was very very positive and delicious! My gf and I were looking for good wonton soup and I managed to find this spot. And we agreed that this was the best wonton soup we've had! The broth was pork-based and very rich in flavor compared to other soups we've tried. It came with about 10 wontons and bok choy. We also ordered cream cheese rangoons and Haian chicken rice plate. Our server gave us a small bowl of egg drop soup and that was very tasty. Came small bits of tofu, corn, and a small price of chicken. The rangoons were standard but the wonton wrap was not as crunchy as I hoped. Still a solid appetizer. Last was the Hainan chicken rice plate. From other places, the chicken is usually prepared hot but served here, it was cold. Not something I would have expected but still a welcoming one. It was served with ginger and scallion sauce & sweet soy sauce. It also had bok choy and Hainan rice. A really good plate all around. The chicken flavor wasn't overwhelming and the rice was seasoned well. Overall, a perfect dining experience

    Half Roasted Duck

If you're craving real authentic flavors, this place delivers. Second visit and it still didn't disappoint. We had the roast duck, mapo tofu, and garlic green beans every dish was amazing. Crispy, juicy duck, rich and numbing mapo tofu, and seriously addictive green beans. One of the most authentic and satisfying meals I've had in a while. Definitely coming back.

While looking for a Chinese Restaurant to patron, I took the advice of Google and visited this place after seeing it was considered a "Hidden Gem" in the community. I will tell you, I was NOT DISAPPOINTED. Upon walking in, I was greeted by the staff, and given a menu to look at the food options available. [[HIGHLIGHT]]While waiting for the person in front of me to finish placing their order, I looked around and noted the atmosphere was nice, the floors and tables were clean, and the staff matched in their uniform shirts.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] (Cleanliness is a BIG plus for me.) Once I got to place my order the woman at the register made it a note to advise that while the menu didn't list it all, they did offer traditional dishes other Chinese restaurants offer. I ordered, Chicken Chow Mein, BBQ Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef and BBQ Pork with their Chicken Egg Rolls to go. Once I got home and served it to my family for dinner, when I tell you all of us were pleased, I mean it! This place truly is a hidden gem. The flavors of the chow mein was impeccable. The peppers and onion taste of the Mongolian beef even better. The rice, fresh, not hard or stale, but perfectly cooked with even amounts of everything. The chicken egg roll. was a delight! I love egg rolls and it's hard to find a good one. Theirs is GOOD. So, I say all this to say, that if you're looking for a good restaurant when you're craving Chinese food, give this place a try.

3.5 stars. New owners, new menu. They really should just be called something else but whatevs moving on .. They redecorated everything so all the tables/chairs/plates/etc are all nice and new. You also get table service now vs ordering at the counter. The service is very good! Food is still a little inconsistent for me, probably because they are still working out their kinks. One time it was not salty enough; another time they overcompensated and it was too salty lol. *Beef Chow Fun - 3/5, needs more "wok hay" *String beans - have been inconsistent but overall tastes fine *Chicken chow Mein - Flavor was fine but could use a little more veggies *Salt and pepper spare ribs - overly breaded but flavor was fine HK style lemon tea could use a little more syrup and ice :D

The food was amazing. Came out fast and hot. The chicken was cold because it's supposed to be cold. But overall I would recommend. The chili oil is a MUST. My husband put it on everything he ate cause the enjoyed the flavor. He said it balanced out the flavors. I prefer it without, but if you like little spicy, yes try it! The restaurant was well lit and the service was great. Our server was attentive and she was super nice. Will return to try other food!

    House Special Noodles
    Maisie W.

Giving this place a 5 stars because although there was only 1 waitress, she was attentive and always asking our table of 8 if we needed anything. A lot of the dishes ordered were Hainan chicken which I tied and did like. Stir fry green beans was as expected and just right in flavor. Note: you have to order ahead if you want duck otherwise it won't be available so my ordered chicken and that was crispy and good. I got house noodles and it was delicious. For mine, I would have liked less oil. For most, it's probably just right amount of oil. Our table had 2 kids and they were understanding which I appreciated.

To all my canto peeps, this will be the place where you feel like home. However a tad variation of preferences to taste buds. My family is from a different area from the Mr. with a different flavor profile than his. So here is our take: braised beef noodle soup - we loved but the Mr. loved it more. Soup reminded me of shoyu ramen with garlic. Simple, soothing and flavorful. I loved it but it was missing a few spices I am personally used to such as more spice mix and pickled mustard greens. House Fried Rice (Thursday special) - this was simple yet satisfying. With shrimp and Chinese sausage in it. Carb overload but it was such a comfort food we cant help but finish it. House soup dumplings which we also liked but again he loved this one more also. Again, simple yet flavorful, clean comfort food while i felt the skin was a tad thicker than what I prefer. So this one depends on your preferences. Regardless, this was still good. Ambiance: clean and welcoming. They have a TV screen to highlight their food items with pictures which I always love to help me find what i want to eat. But wont lie, it makes me want to get every item on there. So during rush hour, do expect wait times but I completely understand and don't mind it. I can see they are busy and would rather than go to a place that is slow where the server walks like a sloth. That is always an eye sore to me. Cost: prices are reasonable and same to any other places similar.
