Stopped in hour before closing on Sunday. It wasn't busy. Jimmy was our server. We tried different dishes on this visit. My son tried the milk lava French toast. I ordered the three cup sauce chicken pot and Singapore Laksa noodle soup. My husband had the Teppan steak set. We finished the noodle soup. It had the perfect amount of spice with shrimp, fish and fish balls. Chicken pot was very flavorful. Jimmy said it was the most popular of the chicken pot options. Steak was good as well. My son liked the French toast a lot. When asked about the filling, Jimmy said that it was a secret recipe. Of course! Food was delicious and came out fast. Service was excellent. Very attentive! Will be back.
The dog and bear ice were cute and a nice one time experience for a good Yelp picture. But, it was not easy to eat nor did it really taste like anything. The teppan set was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning. I loved that the skillet was hot enough to make some of the rice crispy. I've been to Singapore and I was totally missing Laksa and theirs hit the spot. The sparkling Mango soda was very refreshing and would be a great option for the summer. Looking forward to going back and trying other items. The place opens at 11 and they got packed quick and I can see why!
The restaurant is literally in front of 99 Ranch, not off to one side. That three me off when I was looking for it. It is fairly small but people are in and out so there was no wait while I was there. I had the calamari starter which was okay and nothing special. For my main I had the pork chop with tomato sauce and cheese over rice. The rice is actually a fried rice and was pretty good by itself. The pork chop is tender and flavorful but there's not enough compared to the amount of rice served...good thing the rice was good by itself. I also tried my friend's fried rice and it was very good but again nothing out of the ordinary. What tickled me was my Thai ice tea with a "dog" ice. It looked more like a kitten to me but still cute. The ice tea was tasty too so bonus.

Conveniently located next to Ranch 99, Flame Cafe offers a variety of Hong Kong cafe staples. We had no trouble quickly getting a table when we came before noon, but I've seen lines before during the lunch rush. I ordered the toast, curry beef brisket, baked pork chop with rice, and baked fish fillet with cream sauce. The portions are ample, and the taste is decent. Nothing that will knock your socks off but enough to satisfy that HK food craving.
Flame Cafe has a great, cozy atmosphere, totally giving homey vibes with all the cute decorations everywhere. Festive LED lights brightening the rom while calm songs playing in the background.. just great! I ordered the Beef chow fun and pork chop baked rice. The pork chop baked rice is authentic, specially because the rice underneath is fried rice and not basic white rice. One thing to add is that there isn't enough sauce. Sauce gave the traditional cha chaan teng flavor though. The beef chow fun serving is kind of small, and the beef is kind of chewy. Staff is attentive, good experience overall.
There was no wait when we came in for lunch on Saturday. But it was almost all full. Service was quick and efficient. Lots of options on the menu. All the food came out and it was delicious. Fried foods were perfect and crucnhy. Sizzling dishes had great flavor. Skewers were perfectly cooked. Portions were generous, we had lots of leftovers! The beverages were super cute, although on the sweeter side.

If you are having a bad week, the cure is sitting right here in this classic hk dish. I call this the "Emotional Support Combo". The Baked Pork Chop Rice: It's basically a warm hug made of cheese and tomato sauce. The pork is tender, the rice is fluffy, and the sauce is tangy enough to make you forget your problems. The Milk Tea: Silky smooth and served in that iconic Black & White cup. It calms the soul while simultaneously waking up the brain. The staff here are basically the care team--they saw my empty water glass and refilled it before I even asked. Total cost: Way less than a co-pay. Side effects: Extreme happiness and a full belly. Absolute comfort food heaven. My diet starts tomorrow (maybe).
I always enjoy coming here when I can for a Hong Kong style meal and it always fulfill a craving! It does get pretty crowded over the weekends but we were still able to get a pretty large group in! The service is pretty good overall and I did feel like it was pretty efficient! There's a large parking lot outside that it shares with 99 ranch but you're able to find somewhere to park!
This place is located right in front of 99 Ranch. The vibe is nice. They have cool decor like bear bricks. I only tried their Baked Seafood with rice and it was amazing! It had fish, calamari, and shrimp in it. Everything had the perfect mix and texture. Pro tip: ask for hot sauce and it takes it to the next level. The food came out quick and it was served fresh and hot! Service was great also. It filled me up but I wanted to keep eating because it was so good. I will definitely come back to try other items. If you've never been to Hong Kong, eating here will give you a glimpse of their amazing food. It's that authentic.
Came here for lunch and got the Thai tea with dog! It's so cute! But somehow it's not a dog but a bear!! Got the beef brisket noodle and chicken steak teppan . they sizzle in front of you which did splash on us a little. So sit further away! The beef brisket was not as tender as I'd like. The noodle was a bit too soggy. The chicken steak teppan was good. Huge bowl of rice. If you should your yelp, you get a lemon ice tea and it came with the dog!! The price is very affordable compared to the Bay Area. Will definitely come back to try other things if in the area.

We ordered the seafood in cheese cream sauce as well, and some garlic chicken wings. I think both baked rice items are spot on and quite a bargain. The chicken wings are also pretty good, relatively less good value. The service was perfect, and the place is cleaner and more spacious than a typical HK 茶餐廳
Came here on a pleasant Sunday afternoon and was seated right away--no wait at all. There were four of us, but since we weren't too hungry, we decided to share two entrées and one appetizer: the curry fishballs, beef sizzling plate, and creamy seafood baked pasta. The sizzling plate was nicely presented and mixed tableside by the server, though I didn't try it myself since I don't eat red meat. The curry fishballs arrived hot and flavorful--not overly salty, but nothing particularly standout either. My favorite by far was the baked seafood pasta. The seafood tasted fresh (which I'd expect given they're attached to an Asian grocery store!) and the cream-to-pasta ratio was spot on. I also appreciated that none of the dishes were overly salty. The interior felt clean and modern. While the restaurant is on the smaller side, it still managed to feel cozy without feeling cramped. Overall, I'd definitely return to try more of their dishes! :)
No frills hong kong style cafe. Fast and friendly service. Food came out quick too. Free refills on their delicious lemon iced tea. I had the baked pasta with pork chop and found the pork chop to be well seasoned and juicy. read more

I dig this place, reminds me of home back in Taiwan (I know this is an HK cafe), specifically of the foods I'd eat at the night market. - Teppan beef is yummy (but pretty heavily buttery) - The dessert toast is kinda reminiscent of ovaltine flavor, in a good and endearing way (and not too sweet despite it looking ludicrous) - Skewers are yummy, reminds me of street stall food Everything is tasty, and the place itself is efficient like most Asian restaurants (quick service, clean-enough tables, and you GTFO after you eat). Stopped by Flame Cafe and had a great experience. The cafe wasn't busy when I visited, which made for a relaxing meal. I ordered the hot Hong Kong milk tea and the beef teppanyaki rice, and both were delicious. The milk tea was rich, smooth, and perfectly comforting, while the beef teppanyaki was served sizzling hot with tender beef, flavorful rice, and just the right amount of seasoning. The customer service was excellent as well. If you're looking for a casual spot with tasty food, great drinks, and good service, Flame Cafe is definitely worth checking out. Very good service! Our waiter kindly brought us an extra chair when they noticed I had a large backpack, even though we didn't ask. The food was excellent and full of flavor. Our go-to dishes are the beef stir-fried with handmade noodles, tom yum cream spaghetti, and popcorn chicken. Portions were generous and everything came out hot. Came here after out Tahoe trip. Arrived at around 4 PM but its already packed inside. We ordered 三杯鸡，铁板牛肉饭，猪扒锔意粉，curry fish ball. I personally like the beef rice the most because it's very flavorful and the rice is crispy at the bottom. Others dishes are at a standard level. Overall, its a good place to go to if you are passing Sacramento! read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon after we saw the bear drinks. The restaurant had great decor and was very lively. The food was flavorful and the servers were very attentive. I'd recommend anyone to try the Baked Prawn dish if you like a creamy spaghetti, or the Teppon steak if you like a nice sizzling hot plate. Both entrees were great with nice portion sizes. I could see myself reordering the French Toast next time as it's the perfect amount of sweet with a nice peanut butter touch. The drinks were cute and very similar to what you'd get in Hong Kong! We loved the bears! 100% would recommend! Will definitely be coming back. read more

First time here. Great food and good service. Food: - Fried tofu: crunchy and well seasoned. Definitely get again. - Popcorn chicken: top tier, crunchy, chunky, seasoned. What more can you ask for. Would get again - Fried calamari: just ok. Batter was good but the calamari itself was stringy. Would get again only to see if this is how it is all the time. - Sizzling beef plate: soooo good! Love the sauce. It's on the sweeter side. I would have liked to leave the rice on there a little longer to get it crisp up a bit more. Would definitely get again. Drink: - Thai tea with dog: thai tea was standard. They didn't have the dog so they gave me a cat. The cat was a frozen slush. Which is cool! read more

If you're in the mood for Hong Kong style comfort food, The Flame Cafe has you covered! Located in a large plaza with other shops, parking is plentiful. Walk towards 99 ranch market as if you're going inside, and you'll see the front door for the Flame Cafe. The place itself is small offering about 12 tables. Arriving around 11:40 AM on a Saturday there was no wait, but as we were leaving, there was a waitlist starting to form. We ordered the Hong Kong style milk tea with bear, Hong Kong style French toast, garlic chicken wings, and baked tomato pork chop. All of these items are recommended and popular. The Hong Kong style milk tea is adorable and the black tea is strong. It's creamy, sweet, but not overly sweet. Since we didn't ask about any sweetness adjustments, I was anticipating it to be quite sweet but was surprised it wasn't THAT sweet. As a person who loves their boba at 30% sweetness, this felt more of a 50-60% sweetness level. They add a lot of ice so there is not too much of the drink itself. The Hong Kong style French toast was a treat. Perfect eggy batter with a light crisp and fluffy bread interior. A dab of butter and syrup and its chefs kiss. The baked spaghetti tomato pork chop has a sweeter tomato sauce. The cheese becomes ooey gooey and the noodles had a great al dente texture. Some of the pork pieces were on the tougher/fattier side, but overall a good comfort dish. The garlic chicken wings had good flavor, were tender and moist inside, and a decent crisp on the outside. The batter is light. Service was quick and efficient. Food came out pretty fast and we were in and out in under 45 minutes. I don't get to see Hong Kong style cafes often so this was a treat to dine here. 3 items + a drink was $42 before tip. Would recommend to anyone looking for Hong Kong style comfort food! read more

My mom and I come here whenever we are in the Sacramento, and it is one of our favorite local spots for hk cafe style food. For thos visit, we ordered the pork chop noodle soup, fried chicken noodle soup, and the curry fish balls. For drinks we got the hk style coffee milk tea and the lemon tea. The portions of the noodle soups are large and we both had leftovers to take home, and the fried chicken was huge. Everything tasted good as usual. read more

Located next to Ranch99 so we stopped for lunch. It was very busy but wait was fairly quick. We ordered the Signature Spicy Mala Chicken Pot and the Braised Pork with Rice. We did a review and got the cute iced tea (it was kind of sweet for me). The Braised Pork has some flavors but unfortunately it was mainly a rice dish. The ratio is too much rice. The chicken pot was pretty good. I love the Sichuan spice in it. Well i love a anything spicy so this checks the box for me. It was super oily though. There was also a lot of small and pokey bones so BE CAREFUL! Would try other dishes/drinks again! read more

Came in lunchtime saturday and got seated immediately. upon looking at the menu i knew the teppan steaks would be amazing and i was not disappointed. ordered both the regular and the set and they are quite different(ones beef slices and the other is a steak). both have a amazing flavor. also tried the beef noodle soup and the texture of the beef was super tender. we also ordered a red bean drink with a dog. the dogs cute but also sweetens the drink. is a fun order of you're feeling something more high key in a drink. overall a fabulous spot and i'll definitely be returning! read more

My first time trying the Flame cafe. Was excited to try it since my family has been there without me. The server was very nice and attentive. The restaurant is in front of 99 Ranch on Florin road, literally connected to 99 ranch. It was clean with a simple L shape layout. Seems to be family owned. At least that was my impression. We ordred the baked black pepper chicken, with rice. You have an option to get it with rice or with spaghetti noodles. Flavor was on point! Reminds me of the days of one of my favorite HK style restaurants in Sacramento, Leegacy. They are no longer around, but this place is really good as well. For our appetizer we opted for the fried tofu. It was really delicious, especially with the popcorn chicked batter! Yum We also ordered the baked pork chop with spaghetti! One of our favorite dishes. Was cooked perfectly with a sweet red tomato sauce. I'm sure glad we came, and I cannot wait to come back next time! If you are in the Sacramento area, do not hesitate to try Flame cafe! The menu had a lot going on, so we had to look at Yelp photos to decide what to eat. The cucumber salad had good flavor and crunch. Chicken pot was really good, but I wish the rice or spaghetti came in the bottom of the pot inside of separate on the side to soak up the sauce. The beef chow fun was ok, lacked flavor. The lemon tea was a bit too sweet, but the dog ice cube was a cute touch. I didn't provide a picture, but the popcorn chicken was bomb! Staff were friendly. read more
