There are friendly people here sitting indoors and outdoors, and parking is easy. You could easily get an RV here. We ordered pork and shrimp dumplings, and beef noodle soup. The house made fillings fill the dough and the soup is also very good. The food is Shanghainese and some Taiwanese.

Pretty good dumplings and food all around! Came here for lunch while visiting friends and they had heard about this place. No wait on a Friday afternoon, even though there were random tables with a "reservation" placard on multiple tables.. String beans were nice and crunchy, chow mein was flavorful, and XLBs were good. I suggest coming with a larger group so you can all share everything!

01.24.2026 - DUMPLING YO - GREENHAVEN AREA SACRAMENTO, CA - came in and was seated. Waited for food for 5 mins - good timing. Place is pretty clean. I bought a bowl of won ton soup and pork shu mai. WON TON SOUP - the broth was delicious. I haven't eaten won ton soup like this but it was delicious. The broth had seaweed, shrimp brine, green onion and chives. It has that Umami flavor that reminds me a little of ramen dishes. PORK SHU MAI - it's made and shaped like a Shu Mai. The taste is flavorful and it does have that traditional Shu Mai flavor. When biting into it, I saw maybe two kernels of corn. Since I came here alone, I only ordered two dishes. It's enough. I'm already full. The waiter was extremely nice. I'll try again with other dishes. I have my eye on the Mapo Tofu.

Disclaimer: I always have high expectations for dumplings, noodles, XLB, etc. because I grew up in Taiwan and my family also made these items by hand. Now, that also likely explains my constant craving for these foods like it's water! It's my soul food! We were in Sacramento on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to try a new spot. We walked in around 11AM and were promptly seated, no wait. We had the basics- pork XLB, pork and chives dumplings, fried pork buns, + Shanghai noodles, and braised pork over rice. I call it basics as in the "must haves", by no means basic in taste! Everything was delicious and we even got the frozen dumplings to take home. Consider opening 1 in Folsom? Promise we'll be regulars!

Everything about this restaurant is a 10/10. The owner himself is extremely welcoming and will explain any dish on the menu you have questions about. The menu itself has a lot of variety and they also have monthly specials posted. The shanghai noodles are delicious. So much flavor and not too greasy. Probably my favorite noodle I've ever eaten at an Asian restaurant. The soup dumplings were equally just as good. We also tried the special beef buns. Service is fast, but the restaurant is on the smaller side so you may be waiting for a table if you don't go before the lunch or dinner rush. I think I just found my new favorite lunch spot! I can't wait to return to eat more of those noodles!

In a nutshell; really good dumpling/comfort food establishment to try out. Simple menu with not the biggest variety of choices but what they offer they make really well. No complaints on service. Food didn't take too long either. Few select booths, seats and tables, probably not meant for a huge party size. Overall nice place to consider if you're looking for dumplings or rolls or a select choices of Chinese food.

You get a hefty portion and we ate most of it before I realized I should take a pic. Sauce is the bomb!!

This place is amazing. It was ranked #3 on Food and Wines top 100 Chinese restaurants in America for a reason. Flavors galore. Must get the cucumber salad which comes smothered in a delicious soy sauce garlicky sesame oil sauce which we ended up sprinkling on every dish because the flavor was so good. We also got the soup dumplings which is a must, beef cakes and the beef soup. We will definitely be back to try the noodle dish which looked so good when they passed by with it.

Mom and pop spot with delicious food, kind staff and clean restaurant. 5/5 Tried this olace, we arrived at 4:20 on a Sunday. Ended up waiting a little bit because they opened for dinner at 4:30 pm. It was a rainy day so I ordered the Spicy Beef Noodle Soup in mild. Had an order of XLB dumpling. Everything was good!

Not the best, not the worst. The braised beef was quite dry and lacked the tender moistness that one would expect. It was a tad salty and overpowering. The beef noodle soup was somewhat flavorful but lacked the comforting feeling of the savory flavor profile of this typically. The xlb soup dumplings were tasty and the highlight of the meal. They were moist while the soup inside was hot and delicious. There are other items we'd like to try next time but we likely won't order the same items as before.

A quiet out of the way spot tucked into a strip mall. Greeted with a smile and a place to sit, we were excited to try a new dumpling eatery. We watched as a chef created the dumplings from scratch. Placed our order and was satiated by the scrumptious food.

I was on this side of town for my son's AAU basketball tournament and found this spot for lunch. I'm a huge dim sum fan and had read the many positive reviews. The restaurant is small but with ample seating. The service was very friendly and positive. Everything was hand made and tasted very savory and satisfying. The Shanghai noodles were well seasoned but sparse on beef and vegetables. Overall I had a very good experience and would love to come back.

Was visiting a friend in Sac who lives in Pocket and she brought me to Dumpling Yo. Saw that it was the top CA Chinese restaurant on Yelp's top 100 list so how could I resist? First of all, the owner was such a cool guy. So nice. Chatted with us. Really welcoming guy with great energy. Vibe of the place is very simple Chinese restaurant, which I love. I prefer these type of mom and pop spots rather than the recent obsession with a certain "high-end" Taiwanese dumpling chain. They have all your typical Taiwanese staples here. Beef Noodle Soup - This was my favorite. Flavor was rich but clean. Really tasted so much like my mom's Beef Noodle so it's got that home-style flavor. Wasn't too salty, which I liked. I'd say the flavor profile was in the middle. Not light but also not too heavy. Really hits the right spot. Beef was tender and well braised. Beef Rolls - this is pretty standard wherever you go but I really like the fact that they had cucumbers in theirs. Really adds that needed bit of texture and freshness to cut through the rich beef and wrap. Crisped to perfection. Good dollop of hoisin sauce. Pan Fried Dumplings - these were good. Not the best I've had but they were very juicy. I personally like mine with a little more veg to meat ratio but that's just a personal preference. Bottoms were nice and crispy. XLB - these were probably the least favorite thing on the menu. It's just a subjective thing. There's definitely a more gamey flavor with their XLBs that I personally don't prefer but these were also super juicy and everybody else at the table loved them. Great local spot. Will definitely be coming back next time I'm in Pocket.

One of the best Chinese spots I've tried in the Sacramento area! Came here on a Wednesday night and there is plenty of seating that slowly started filling up. The menu is reasonable with a variety of options but not overwhelming. We ordered the Shanghai noodles, beef roll, string beans, and shrimp and pork soup dumplings. Everything was delicious with huge portions and fresh ingredients. It's hard to pick a favorite dish, but the beef rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The scallion pancakes it's wrapped in, was so crispy and flaky on the outside but chewy on the inside. Can't wait to come back next time. The server was super kind and the food came out very fast. Plenty of seating in a cozy shop.

I know prices have gone up everywhere but this felt pretty steep. Overall, I don't think we'd come back. I would rather go to South Sacramento and eat dim sum there and then get my Asian grocery shopping done. Restaurant itself looked like a standard Chinese dim sum restaurant. Nothing to write home about.

The restaurant itself has always been large, spacious, and beautifully decorated with chandeliers--it's definitely a nice venue for events like weddings. Their taro turnovers have always been a favorite of mine, and even after moving farther away, I still found myself coming back just for them. A few months ago, my husband and I had a really pleasant experience here. We ordered a variety of dim sum and ended up taking some home because everything was so enjoyable. My husband typically orders the spicy orange chicken and has always been satisfied with it. The service during that visit was also great--the server was sweet, attentive, and we even had some fun conversations. Unfortunately, our most recent visit yesterday was a completely different experience. We came in around 11:15 AM on a Tuesday expecting a nice, casual dim sum date. I ordered har gow, siu mai, sticky rice, and shrimp balls with sweet and sour sauce, and we waited for more of the dim sum carts to come around. As usual, I ordered the spicy orange chicken for my husband. It was already off to a rough start when communication with our servers became difficult. There seemed to be a significant language barrier, and it was challenging to get our concerns across. Things went downhill when we received the "spicy" orange chicken. It was not spicy at all and, more importantly, it was severely overcooked--hard, dry, and honestly unchewable. We ordered chicken, not beef jerky. When we brought this up, the staff seemed fixated on the spice level rather than listening to the main issue. They insisted that the dish was already spicy and interpreted our concern as a request for "extra spicy." Both my husband and I can handle spice differently, but we could agree there was no spice present, and that wasn't even the primary problem--the texture was. They took the dish back, and we assumed it would be remade. Instead, it was quickly returned to us with some chili sauce sprinkled on top--the same exact overcooked chicken. I could tell it hadn't been remade because the same broken piece of chicken was still on the plate. At that point, we were frustrated and had lost our appetites. I took the dish to the register myself to explain that the issue was the texture and that the chicken was inedible. It finally seemed to click, and they apologized and offered to remake it, but by then, it felt too late. I'm not one to give third chances when something should have been handled correctly the first or second time. To their credit, they did not charge us for the dish and were apologetic, but the entire experience felt unnecessarily difficult and frustrating. That's not the level of service I expect when I'm paying to support a business. It's especially disappointing because this was meant to be our last visit before moving out of state, and it ended on such a sour note. Sadly, after this experience, I definitely do not see myself returning.

The cashiers taking orders were very nice and efficient, happy to answer any questions I had. I ordered 3 pineapple buns with filling, 2 sui mai, 2 shrimp ride noodle and a beef rice noodle. Most things are ready right when you order but because it's made fresh, when they run out there is a wait sometimes. When I got the pineapple buns in my hand they were still nice and warm, a decent size as well compared to some dimsum spots. The filling was nice and sweet, not the typical nai wong custard but a coconut, thicker filling that was nice and sweet. The bread was so soft as well and the crust was nice flaky and crunchy. It was very satisfying to bite into, no complaints here! 9/10 The sui mai was piping hot when I got it as well. They were very big and meaty and so fresh when I bit into them. Super juicy and fulfilling to eat! 8.5/10 Lastly the rice noodles, which are my favorite of all time dimsum foods. The shrimp one had such a good bite to it because of the shrimp. The rice noodles were thin and soft just how I like them! The beef one I wish had a bit more beef/beef flavor to it but still good! In addition the sweet soy sauce they give is a good balance of sweet and salty as well, would def recommend! 8.5 Overall I would definitely come back! Such a good place to pick up dimsum to go! Even though English is spoken, there still was some miscommunication. I asked for the spare ribs rice roll and she almost gave me something else. I also ordered the BBQ pork mochi biscuit but she gave me a Red Bean one. Items are not really fresh. Spare ribs rice roll - This was so good and only $5.50 for a good sized portion. The rice rolls were soft! The pork tender, and I loved the sweet soy they give you on the side to pour over. Would come back for this. Mochi x 4 - They offer peanut, matcha red bean, and red bean. I'm not a matcha girl so didn't try that one but got 2 each of the peanut and red bean ones for $1.50 each. The mochi is a good size, loved the texture and chew. I didn't see anyone included a cross section of the peanut mochi so I made sure to get one for yall. TBH the red bean was more to my taste, and I really wish they had fruit options. The peanut one had a peanutty sugar inside, which was a bit too sweet for me. They're all rolled in coconut shreds too, so they're pretty messy. Hot dog bun - The bun is big but the dogs are tiny.. Also, the bun was dry af. The scallions on top were so toasted they fell off, and the weenies were also a bit dry.. They also didn't sit up nicely on the bun, but sank down into the holes on the bread. I took a bite of it "fresh" and wasn't impressed so took it home to heat up and dip in sauce. It's super bready... and just overall boring. Wouldn't waste the dollars on this. Sesame Ball x 2 - Small for the price. Not fresh at all even though we stopped by at 9 AM. Had a good chew once reheated and red bean filling was good, but def have had waaaay better. Red Bean Mochi Biscuit - Basically a pan fried stuffed mochi. Super super soggy. I wanted BBQ pork but got red bean instead. Same filling as the sesame ball. Decent, but could have been better texturally. All of this came out to $19.09. For $20, I would have expected better.

Time for Dim Sum...because apparently every time I watch Crazy Rich Asians, my stomach turns into a…read moredramatic main character and demands dumplings immediately. Normally, I hit up Yue Huang, but lately it's been giving "long wait, mild heartbreak." So I decided to branch out and found this hidden gem in Granite Bay...and let me tell you...BEST decision. You walk in and BAM!!!! Old school Chinese restaurant vibes. Red booths, classic decor, slightly run down in that "if these walls could talk, they'd recommend everything on the menu" kind of way. And if you know, you KNOW...that's when the food is about to slap. We came with a mission (aka hungry and slightly unhinged) and ordered: baked BBQ pork buns, shumai, har gow, shrimp rice rolls, pineapple baked custard buns, fried shrimp balls, and soup dumplings. Basically, if it could be steamed, fried, or stuffed...we said yes. It's clearly family run, which I love. Mom is running the show like a boss, kids are hustling, and since it was Mother's Day...CHAOS. Delicious chaos. Food flying out, servers holding trays of dumplings like treasures, stopping at your table and you're like "YES, THIS IS MY MOMENT"...and then they walk away to another table. Emotional rollercoaster. So many "Ooooh yay!" followed by "Ohhh man..." But honestly? It just built the suspense. Then OUR food arrived...and our eyes went WIDE. These dumplings are HUGE. Like, "one bite? absolutely not" huge. The BBQ pork buns were soft, fluffy, slightly sweet clouds of happiness. Har gow and shrimp rice rolls were perfectly steamed (no soggy sadness here ). Now, because it was busy, the shrimp had a bit of a split personality...some bites were perfectly snappy and delicious, others were just a little overcooked. Not tragic, just not living their absolute best life. But overall? Everything was GOOD. And then the check came...about $60 for ALL that food. I almost checked it twice like, "Ma'am...are you sure you charged me correctly?" Because that is a STEAL. What really got me though was the family. You could see the hustle, the stress, the love...all happening in real time. Even in the chaos, they were kind, smiling, and apologizing for the wait. That kind of heart hits different. Final verdict: great food, great value, and a whole lot of love. I'll definitely be back to try more of their main dishes. Until next dumpling craving...

The dim sum was good, the place was cleaner, and owner was a super friendly and upbeat. Small family ran business! All right, let's get this messaging out there. Is it the best dim sum ever? In the world? Definitely not. Best in the Folsom/Granite Bay Area... yes! Sure you can get dim sum cheaper and probably more modern innovative dishes in South Sac. But that's 30+ miles away, one way. Best Dim Sum focuses on classic Cantonese dim sum dishes. The dim sum menu is large enough to hit all the classics including rice porridge which they have right kinds in the menu. Besides dim sum, they also have other classic Cantonese Chinese entrees and have a weekday lunch combo plate specials. If you have MSG food aversion, ask them before you order. I ordered sui mai, sticky rice in lotus leaf, egg custard, and fried sesame balls to go. The sui mai was tasty. Big, fat hunky four piece order. The fried sesame balls were heavenly delicious. Mmm. Crisp exterior with the stretchy, soft chewy rice flour crust and warm red bean paste interior. That's was a fun one to eat... the smell fried dough and then sweet paste,, the sound of the slight crackling, and sight of the all so subtle stretch. The sticky rice in lotus leaf had a ground pork filling inside but lacking the customary classic slices of salted egg and lap chon ( Chinese sausage). It was still tasty though. There was a slight ordering error with the egg custard. I ordered the Chinese style egg custard but got the Portuguese egg custard instead. I still enjoyed it! Pricing was the same, so no loss there. The difference is that the Portuguese egg custard has a puff pastry crust while the Chinese version is more of a firmer shortbread crust. But this Portuguese version had the same shortbread crust as the Chinese version. Also the Portuguese custard is sweeter and caramelized on top while the Chinese version is less sweet and not caramelized which this was. Still delicious!

UPDATE 4/6/2026…read more Prices are more transparent now than previously in the past. Menu items are more consistent now where as in the past the portion size would vary based off of your party size as I noticed before when ordering entree items. One time we had a party of two and ordered a dish and was smaller than when visiting with a party of 4. Same price you're paying you should get the same size portion regardless. Kings has made improvements over the years. The food is still great and worth going to!

The interior is as massive as ever and the dim sum carts are still rolling. What made this visit stand out was the service. The aunts and uncles working today were incredibly warm and welcoming. A few of them went out of their way to compliment our young daughters and made sure we were comfortable and taken care of the entire time. That level of friendliness wasn't always the case in the past, so this felt like a really pleasant and noticeable change. The food remains consistently solid and deeply nostalgic. Every bite brings back memories of younger days, and now it's special in a different way because we get to experience it again with our daughters. It feels like passing a small piece of the past on to the next generation. During our visit we experienced great food, genuine service, and a lot of nostalgia packed into one meal.
