This is the second time we've been here. This time we ordered the numbing fish fillet with an order of rice- the portion is HUGE. It's enough for the two of us with leftovers. we also got the tan tan noodles, which was decent but not amazing. the noodles at Tasty dumplings is better. this one was not as chewy as I wanted and the flavors were solid but not special. We were both sweating eating this, it definite lived up to its name! The last time we were here, we ordered the Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken which was so good! I think that was my favorite dish from this place. it was surprisingly spicy despite not having a chili sign next to it. The first time, we had very bad service so I'm so glad to see that service has greatly improved. This time, our servers was friendly, polite and actually paid attention. Definitely come here if you are craving Szechuan or spicy food!

Absolutely loved this dish. The fish was fresh, tender, and soaked perfectly in the rich spicy broth. The balance of heat, numbing pepper, and sour pickled vegetables made every bite super flavorful without being overwhelming. The portion was generous, and the aroma alone was enough to make the whole table hungry. If you enjoy authentic Sichuan-style flavors, this is definitely worth trying. Great comfort food with a strong kick.

I was staying with a friend in Sacramento this last weekend and she invited me to a dinner with some of her relatives and friends. It was at Spicy Dragon ... just the name sounds spicy! This restaurant is located right next to the big 99 Ranch Asian store on Florin Rd. It's just off the 99, go west on Florin and you can't miss it. My friend who's Chinese told me the dinner was gonna be more "authentic" meaning there wasn't gonna be any egg rolls or General's chicken. I did notice I was the only one at the table that didn't have black hair! Some of her friends as well as her don't really speak any Chinese cause they were born and raised here, so there was enough English spoken, I wasn't lost or anything. Service was fast and efficient, but not super friendly. The menu dishes were all ordered in advance. The food just started coming out and placed on the round rotating thingy in the middle of the table. Soup was first and was served into bowls for each person. It was a veggie kinda soup, tasted decent. Next was mapo tofu. I had this one before. My friend said it's really called mapo "DAU'FU" in Chinese. Tofu is for Japanese food. Learn something new everyday! Then there were some green veggies, roast duck, braised pork belly with those steamed white buns that look like lips .. well, to me they do! There were other dishes I don't know what they were, but I do remember there were some spicy fried wings, I did like those! Mostly I like most of the dishes, one seemed a little weird, but I didn't have to resort to a fork at all! I'm glad I was invited and had a good time. I'd come back here, but I think I'd order stuff I was more familiar with.

Took my parents to this place and they were very impressed, especially compared to the places they've had in San Francisco. We are from Hunan and we approve of this place! The flavors and dishes here are authentic and taste really good. They have so many items on the menu and we wanted to order so much more. The only thing is, I wish the deep-fried/crispy dishes were crunchier! We ordered: G9. Pork Intestine With Season Chilies - $19.99 (Wish this was crispier) P20. Pork Kidney With Hunan Spicy Sauce - $18.99 (slightly too much oil for me) C2. Chicken Wings With Explosive Chili Peppers - $19.99 (My favorite!! I loved the numbing spice and the crazy flavors) B14. Spicy Crispy Beef Strips With Sauteed Chillies - $21.99 (Wish this was crispier, all the beef pieces were soggy) R19. Steamed Rice x 4 - $6.00 A7. Salt & Pepper Fried Calamari - $10.99

Our family was looking for sone authentic Chinese cuisine and stumbled upon this place. The flavors are extremely present with the perfect amount of spice! My in-laws (who are Chinese) especially appreciated the quality and taste of our dishes. The portions were good and the staff were very friendly as well. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who is looking for an authentic Chinese experience!

Food: 5/5 - the food here was really good, everything is a flavor blast full of spice and vinegary goodness I got their lamb noodles and although the noodles weren't my favorite kind (texture wise), I knew this going in the flavor was really delicious... I also got some lamb skewers on the side and damn those were so good- nice smoky flavor, well seasoned, tender and juicy from the fat Service - 4.5/5 the restaurant wasnt too busy we were seated immediately and although they forgot the ride we ordered but it was immediately taken care of when I raised my hand to mention it missing Ambiance - 5/5 the decor is nice and the restaurant is clean, it's dimly lit making for a nice environment to take a date.

    General Tso's Chicken

For my beverage, I enjoyed a pot of hot tea. For my entrées, I had the General Tso chicken and the chicken chow mein; both of which were incredible in flavor and seasoning. The chow mein had the perfect texture of noodles, and the chicken had fantabulous flavor. The General Tso chicken was pretty decent in flavor, and the portion was pretty substantial. All in all, a great dining experience if you're in the mood for some good Chinese food.

Spicy Szechuan Boiled Sliced Fish in Ball Pepper Oil

What a hidden gem! This place might look like a hole in the wall, but the authentic flavors and quick service speak for themselves. I loved every dish. The Szechuan pepper fish and the eggplant tofu in garlic sauce were absolutely incredible. While Spicy Dragon itself isn't fancy, the food is to die for. The dark ambiance adds to the cozy, no frills vibe. A must try for anyone craving real, flavorful Chinese cuisine!

I'm extremely disappointed. I found a piece of metal wire in my food. This is a serious safety hazard and could have caused injury. I lost my appetite immediately and had to throw the meal away.

    Salt and Pepper Fried Chicken
    Ariana W.

Food was great! 5/5 The shrimp fried rice tasted very fresh and came out pretty quick. The chow mein had good amount of crunchy veggies and a flavorful sauce. The salt and pepper chicken was fried to perfection in a light and airy batter that resembled tempura. We were so hungry we forgot to take a pic before eating so the pictures are after we had our fill and the aftermath. Service 2/5 for the initial treatment as we walked in. We arrived an hour before closing and told to wait at the front while the server said he will go ask the chef if it were okay. He came back a short while later and said the chef gave the okay for us order. About 20 minutes later, a party of 3 arrived and they were immediately seated without the server having to ask the chef if they could order. The only difference between us and them is that they were Asian and we are African-American. Edit:// As I was about to post this, a different server came up and said "I know it was edgy when you guys first walked in. It's just that our regular menu closes at 9:30pm and our skewer menu is open until 10:30pm". My thought to that is this: the original server who asked the chef if it were okay for us to order had no idea if we were ordering the regular menu or skewers. He saw us walk in and immediately said he had to go ask if it were okay. Overall, I had a great dinner with my husband as we were celebrating our anniversary and in a cheery mood.

Been wanting to try this restaurant for awhile but was too afraid that I was not able to tolerate the spice. Thankfully, their menu indicates the spiciness level of each dish. For appetizers, we ordered some of their vegetarian skewers - tofu skin with cilantro and oyster mushroom. They were very flavorful and seasoned well with minimal spice. For entrees, we ordered their vegetable chow mein and sizzling eggplant and tofu with garlic sauce. Both were good and delicious but too greasy for our liking. Neither were spicy at all. Our non-vegetarian friend ordered stir fried beef with pickled chillies which according to him, was quite spicy as expected. Food was good and portions were generous. Love that they clearly indicate vegetarian options on their menu!

This was my second time coming to Spicy Dragon and I was hoping it would be better, but I was still underwhelmed. My family ordered the Numbing Spicy Beef Combo, Pork Intestine with Pickled Vegetables, Pork Kidney with Hunan Spicy Sauce, and Cauliflower with Mixed Chillies. I ordered the Pork Kidney in the past and the cook on the kidneys was definitely better than the first, however the pieces were still very thin and small and they packed on the chilis, so you barely got any kidney. The same was true for the Pork Intestines and Cauliflower where I felt there were more peppers than actual meat. My favorite dish was definitely the Numbing Spicy Beef. I thought the flavor was very good and tasted like other Szechuan restaurants I've been to. Although the service has always been good, I probably wouldn't return here.

The whole right side of my trey is empty where's half of my chicken

This was our first time going here. And very disappointed that we paid 17$ for a entree and the position we got is crazy low. The noodles were really good the chicken was already but the portion of the chicken is so small its like I git half of my food

So I'm planning my next trip here this week so I can enjoy the amazing cucumber salad (so fresh, crunchy and garlicky), their pepper beef clay pot (sizzling rice at the bottom for the win and big portions), their spicy tofu (umm what?!? So crispy) and their awesome skewers (the pork belly is my favorite). The space is small, so if you're planning on dining in during peak times, you may want a back up or take it to go as they only have a handful of tables inside and a few tables outside. There is parking but it is shared with other business so can get busy. The service is wonderful! The hostess/waitress was very friendly and everything came out relatively quick. The clay pot does take some time (they need to cook up the rice to get that awesome crunchy bottom) so place your order for that first, and then look at the appetizers and skewers as they come out fast. This was my first trip but will not be my last to Da Fei Ge!

It was nice enough that I tried to come here on a weekend night and it was packed full of families which is great but probably where I should have thought about it more. We went up to the counter and were told to wait a few minutes. I saw that a large table was clearing up so I didn't mind waiting. During this time a group came up behind us and I thought they were after us. One of the server waved in our general direction after cleaning up and splitting the table, so I thought they were gesturing to us since it has already been 10 minutes of waiting. Wrong, it was to the group behind us. Maybe it was communicated in mandarin that they had a reservation, I'm not sure. I waited for the next empty table, which was also taken by yet another group that magically appeared behind us as if they knew they were in line. I decided to leave after this. My issue is that I looked and talked to the staff multiple times and at no point, did they indicate there was a waitlist, nor did they take my name, or anything about people in front of us. It was really frustrating because being told it would be a few minutes set the wrong expectation. This is not the only place to get skewers so if you're left confused where you are in line, just come another weekday, speak mandarin, or go somewhere else like I did
