So glad we have an awesome Vietnamese restaurant so close to the home! I've has the pleasure of dining there twice and each time the pho has been superb and trounces the competition. In fact, I find it tastier than some of the pho I've had in little Saigon. The restaurant is cozy but I think word has not gotten out since I'm able to find a table without a wait. The staff is friendly, polite, and very helpful. The food came out so fast I was surprised each time. I'd estimate less than 5 minutes and piping hot pho was on the table. I've tried the combination (pho dac biet) a couple times. The broth is super tasty and the portion is very generous. Load of meat and noodles. The meat is high quality and I can taste it. I'm fairly stuffed when I leave. Some members of the fam can't even finish their rice plates and bun thit nuong and end up taking enough home for a 2nd meal. For $15, the one-size bowl of BBH is a great deal. The portion was very generous, with lots and lots of protein. The broth was flavorful and had a nice kick to it. My only feedback is that the meat was cut a little too thick, making it somewhat difficult to chew. Other than that, everything was great. I prefer a spicier chili oil but not woot of places actually make a spicy one in my opinion. The wings good, not great but good. The batter was super crunchy and the flavor was good. I'd order again but I wouldn't come back specifically for that. I'd come back to try other items and then order the wings to fill in the meal. I don't think this restaurant has been open for very long, but my husband and I decided to stop by for dinner since we were nearby. It's a small and simple restaurant. I ordered the bún thịt nướng with an egg roll. The egg roll was filled with pork and had a generous amount of filling. It tasted good as well. The dish also came with a decent portion of pork, though I wish the pieces were cut a little smaller. The pork itself could have used a bit more flavor, and the fish sauce didn't really add much. There were plenty of noodles, but I would have preferred more lettuce. My husband ordered the bún bò Huế. He said the broth was flavorful, but the noodles were softer than he likes. He also thought the meat would have been better if it had been sliced thinner. I'm not sure if I would order my dish again, but I'd still be interested in trying their pho next time. This is the first Vietnamese place that I've been to that doesn't cut their Imperial Rolls in half. It didn't taste as crispy as it normally would. I got a Beef Ball & Tripe Noodle Soup. A friend of mine suggested this place. When we arrived she noticed a name change on the restaurant she thought we were going to - we stayed to give them a chance. It wasn't all bad but was just ok. She ordered- E6. Choice Of Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Egg Roll. I ordered - F1. Grilled Pork Sandwich. We agreed the meats had good flavor. Her bowl was quite large and big enough to take home for a second meal. My banh mi meat was good. However both of us thought there was some flavor balance missing. We also agreed the egg roll filling was not that great. The banh mi bread was good and lots of meat in the sandwich. I also took home half. The condiment lids were a little sticky, I guess that is hard to prevent but it made it feel not too clean. Maybe the soups are better? The location is right off of I5 so it was convenient for us living on that side of Sacramento. We were greeted by some girls at the counter and they sat right away. They're nice and attentive, let us lounge a bit to chat after our lunch for over an hour. Once we ordered our food, it came out without 5-8 minutes. I got the bun bo hue and my friend got the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. The BBH was pretty big with a generous amount of meat. The broth is on the sweeter side for me, but I added some chili oil and mam to it. I ate all the noodles and veggies and still had a ton of meat left. I've been to many Pho restaurants and this place may be small but they carry a mighty punch. The taste of their broth is delicious and is very flavorful. Their portions are worth the price and their price point is still cheaper than other known pho places around. Elk Grove. Came by for lunch over the weekend and it was a full house! We were lucky a party had just left so we were waiting for the table to be cleared and cleaned. This location is a lot smaller than their sister restaurant, Pho Ivy. I ordered the egg noodle seafood combo soup and some egg rolls. The egg rolls were good and hot so you know they were freshly fried. I wasn't a fan of the egg noodle soup. Was bummed they don't have banh xeo like at Pho Ivy. If I were to come here again, I'd probably go for their rice or vermicelli meat plates. Food came out pretty fast as well. Overall I think I prefer the sister restaurant, Pho Ivy, due to space, location, and having banh xeo on the menu. Despite this, they do have very similar menus. No issues with parking but Pho Ava is next to a drive thru Starbucks so there may be some traffic with all the cars lining up. read more

We arrived early so we were the only ones there. I got the B1 combination/pho dac biet. Food came out fast. I was a little concerned because the rare steak was totally raw and the broth wasn't steaming hot. I am more used to having the broth ladled over the meat so it starts the cooking process a bit. I had to quickly push all that meat to the bottom to make sure it got cooked enough. The pho was okay. Meatballs tasted like the frozen kind. Flank could have been cooked more for more tenderness. I got no tendons. Nothing special about it. Lots of green onions. If you do plan to go during the grand opening special, the sign out front for 50% off the second item is a bit misleading. Finally got a chance to try Pho Ava! Stopped by for lunch and ordered more than I could eat. For appetizers started with fried shrimp and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The rolls were rolled larger than your standard spring rolls at other restaurants I have had and filled with more noodles. I was craving pho and order the beef and tendon #7 small. There were plenty of noodles and the flavor of the broth was delicious. However, the pho broth could have been hotter. Also order the Korean short ribs with rice. Perfectly flavored and tasted great! Soup was on the sweeter side and flavor profile wasn't as developed. We also ordered the salt and pepper ribs (they were out) so we went with the calamari. I'd prefer a bit more salt and pepper. The pho broth really stood out, it's rich, flavorful, and exactly what you want when you're craving a good bowl. You can tell they put care into it. Sanitation concern observed I had never eaten here before, but while in the Starbucks drive-thru, I was looking at the menu posted on the restaurant window because the food looked good and I was considering trying it. While doing that, I observed an employee use a tissue for personal hygiene and then place that same tissue on a table in the dining area where customers eat. I found that unsanitary and concerning. I brought it to the employee's attention, and the response I received did not address the concern, which is why I felt it was worth sharing. I ordered takeout and live in Galt, I was concerned that my Pho would hold up in temperature. Got home unpacked and was pleasantly surprised that everything was packed individually. Meats still raw and veggies all sliced perfectly and bagged. Broth in a container well sealed. I heated up my broth though because I like hot especially to cook the meats. The flavors were all there. I was definitely content with the amount of rice noodles they gave me and onions, jalapeño's and mint. Maybe wished they gave me two packs of the sauces. I definitely had enough to feed two or make two meals out of it. $18 for the pho and o ordered 4 egg rolls for $7.95 that came with a fish oil and vinegar sauce that was amazing. Terrible First Impression Came during the grand opening special for the Buy one get one 50% off and to support a new local small business, possibly discover a new regular pho place. We are typically loyal to Pho City if craving pho, but decided to give this place a try because of the deal, which is a great way to attract new customers and regulars. We ordered two small B1 and an appetizer, egg rolls. We asked the staff if they were still doing the BOGO 50% deal, so they are aware we came because we saw the deal, they were not clear to us that if we ordered appetizers the deal would only apply on the cheapest item. Obviously, like others would assume the 50% would apply to the pho , otherwise we probably wouldn't have ordered appetizers. When we asked about this while checking out, the staff said that was the rule, and kept looking towards her other co-worker to as if to seek help explaining. The lady seemed to brush it off and said sorry, whats more can be done, we will eat it and not come back again. On to the food, the egg rolls were decent, size and portions were larger than other pho restaurants but they gave one small piece of lettuce for 4pcs of egg rolls...but you typically eat them wrapped with lettuce. The flavor was typical, nothing special. The pho...as you can see from the photo, don't be fooled by the un eaten photo, where is the soup? a huge chunk noodles were clumped together at the bottom took up the whole bowl. The soup was on the sweeter side and sort of bland, color was lighter than others I've had , perhaps skimped on the fish sauce. As I kept eating, the noodles were endless and soaking up the soup. Overall, you're better off somewhere else, the non discounted prices are similar to elsewhere. The food is not bad but not great either. The store was small and a bit cramped , only fits 6-7 tables.
