I came here expecting the previous pho place to be here! They changed the layout a bit so you can't see into the back anymore, making it feel a bit closed off. Good, efficient service. I ordered the Pho B8 (Rare Steak, Flank, Fatty Brisket). Good portions. I enjoyed the broth; it was not too oily. I enjoyed their chili oil. The only negative was the meat was a bit tough/chewy. This is the first Vietnamese place that I've been to that doesn't cut their Imperial Rolls in half. It didn't taste as crispy as it normally would. I got a Beef Ball & Tripe Noodle Soup. I thought my bowl was pretty satisfying but I've definitely had better before! The service was great! The server was super attentive! The price of a small bowl of pho is only $13.25 and $15.95 for a large. You can't beat that!

Pho = 4 out of 5 Portion was good, meat quality was good, veggies were fresh, broth could have had more depth of flavor. $15 would be a better price point. $17.25 seems a tad high. BBQ Pork Sandwich = 4 out of 5 Pork was tasty and cooked perfectly. The bread was also good, not too hard, nice flavor. The veggies were really good, but not enough on the sandwich. Would have been better priced at $8.50, but $10 isn't too bad. Vietnamese Tapioca Smoothie = 3 out of 5 Flavor seemed off from traditional Che Thai. Not sure what was missing, but something was. Our drink was also missing the "Red Rubies" which was a bummer aesthetically. $6.50 would be a better price point. The $8.15 was too much for this drink. This review was based on a Grub Hub delivery order, so I can't say anything about the service. However everything was packaged very nicely, and they included everything for the Pho at home.

A friend of mine suggested this place. When we arrived she noticed a name change on the restaurant she thought we were going to - we stayed to give them a chance. It wasn't all bad but was just ok. She ordered- E6. Choice Of Grilled Pork, Shrimp, Egg Roll. I ordered - F1. Grilled Pork Sandwich. We agreed the meats had good flavor. Her bowl was quite large and big enough to take home for a second meal. My banh mi meat was good. However both of us thought there was some flavor balance missing. We also agreed the egg roll filling was not that great. The banh mi bread was good and lots of meat in the sandwich. I also took home half. The condiment lids were a little sticky, I guess that is hard to prevent but it made it feel not too clean. Maybe the soups are better? Today was average and it's not like I wouldn't come back - it's just not my first choice. Maybe they're adjusting to new ownership or new chefs?

4.5 This place is cute but super small. Luckily we came for a late lunch on Sunday afternoon so it wasn't too packed. The location is right off of I5 so it was convenient for us living on that side of Sacramento. We were greeted by some girls at the counter and they sat right away. They're nice and attentive, let us lounge a bit to chat after our lunch for over an hour. Once we ordered our food, it came out without 5-8 minutes. I got the bun bo hue and my friend got the grilled pork vermicelli bowl. The BBH was pretty big with a generous amount of meat. The broth is on the sweeter side for me, but I added some chili oil and mam to it. I ate all the noodles and veggies and still had a ton of meat left. My friend almost finished her vermicelli bowl but still had some veggies left. The grilled pork was tender and tasty, I'd definitely try that next time.

Had lunch here with my brother today.. wanted really to give them 3&1/2 stars but we can't lol. The restaurant itself is nice but very small .. tables are pretty close to each other but ok. Service was ok.. the waitresses seemed friendly but the staff in the back wasn't so much. I ordered the bun thit nuong , shrimp and eggrolls which is the vermicelli with pork and shrimp .. I asked for extra lettuce and cucumbers because I had split my bowl in half .. and the lady in the back says no lol ‍ So I didn't get my extra veggies I wanted with my bowl. But the dish itself was good and very flavorful. My brother had the bun bo hue and it looked good.. he said it hit the spot and he liked it .. we ordered the shrimp roll appetizer .. expecting it to be the Vietnamese shrimp rolls.. it wasn't.. it was the Costco frozen fried shrimp .. that's sad .. I give that 1/10 lol Overall the food was good minus the shrimp rolls.. I would go back to try something else maybe

    Combo seafood Egg noodle soup

Came by for lunch over the weekend and it was a full house! We were lucky a party had just left so we were waiting for the table to be cleared and cleaned. This location is a lot smaller than their sister restaurant, Pho Ivy. I ordered the egg noodle seafood combo soup and some egg rolls. The egg rolls were good and hot so you know they were freshly fried. I wasn't a fan of the egg noodle soup. Was bummed they don't have banh xeo like at Pho Ivy. If I were to come here again, I'd probably go for their rice or vermicelli meat plates. Food came out pretty fast as well. Overall I think I prefer the sister restaurant, Pho Ivy, due to space, location, and having banh xeo on the menu. Despite this, they do have very similar menus. No issues with parking but Pho Ava is next to a drive thru Starbucks so there may be some traffic with all the cars lining up.

This was my first time eating at Pho Ava and it was delicious! I ordered the B1 Combination Pho which contained various cuts of beef. The portion was decent for the price at approximately $16 for the large size . The broth was very flavorful and not overly salty. The brisket in the pho was tough but was still edible. The chili sauce on the side complimented the pho well as it had a slight smoky flavor. Service was good as the workers were friendly and refilled water. I noticed the servers prepping egg roll wrappers and using their phones which did not seem sanitary.

Tried this place and I really want to support small businesses but I didn't think it was exceptional. I ordered the seafood egg noodle soup. It was ok. A few little shrimps, squid, fish balls, & veggie. Staff were ok. Small restaurant located right next to Starbucks

Been here multiple times since they've opened. It's near home, decently priced, and yummy. Staff is friendly and food always comes out quick. Our go to dishes are the pho, BBH, and pork and rice plate.

Was excited to hear about Pho Ava! They're the same owners as Pho Ivy. Love the G6 grilled pork and shrimp as well as their chubby spring rolls. Husband loves their pho too. Reasonable prices with fast friendly service. Their seating area is much smaller than Pho Ivy, but glad they have a location in the other side of EG now!

My friend wanted to try this new restaurant since it was a cold day and she loves pho. Plus she saw the sign out front for 50% off the second item. The place is small and cozy but clean. We arrived early so we were the only ones there. I got the B1 combination/pho dac biet. Food came out fast. I was a little concerned because the rare steak was totally raw and the broth wasn't steaming hot. I am more used to having the broth ladled over the meat so it starts the cooking process a bit. I had to quickly push all that meat to the bottom to make sure it got cooked enough. The pho was okay. Meatballs tasted like the frozen kind. Flank could have been cooked more for more tenderness. I got no tendons. Nothing special about it. Lots of green onions. If you do plan to go during the grand opening special, the sign out front for 50% off the second item is a bit misleading. It is only for the sandwiches and egg roll appetizers so beware.

Finally got a chance to try Pho Ava! Stopped by for lunch and ordered more than I could eat. For appetizers started with fried shrimp and pork and shrimp spring rolls. The rolls were rolled larger than your standard spring rolls at other restaurants I have had and filled with more noodles. I was craving pho and order the beef and tendon #7 small. There were plenty of noodles and the flavor of the broth was delicious. However, the pho broth could have been hotter. Also order the Korean short ribs with rice. Perfectly flavored and tasted great! Small and comfortable spot for good pho. The service was friendly and great.

I have smalls hands and that portion was wild to see for a 20 dollar plate. Had the meat held up in taste, in not tough or salty, i probably would have been less disappointed. I appreciated the little almost sauce size cup of broth. For me, it's a no. Will not be trying. May whoever is reading this now have a better experience. Good luck.

The menu had a bit too much going on and in my opinion -- restaurants should have a speciality rather than offer so many items because taste and quality loses itself somewhere in the middle of 100 different menu options. I know my partner and I are pho snobs but what we had wasn't even pho. The broth was basically hot water with a tad of salt or chicken bouillon. There were no hints of star anise, cinnamon (often referred to as Saigon cinnamon), cloves, black cardamom, coriander seeds, and fennel seeds -- nada. And the noodles were way too overcooked making my dish so difficult to eat. I ordered pho and it looked like pho -- but it tasted nothing close to it. I need to share that as a reality to the owner and staff so they can make changes to the quality of their food -- otherwise, I don't know if this place will survive the competition. Also, I observed a staff member behind the counter blending a smoothie of some sort, tasting it with a spoon, and then putting back said spoon into the smoothie to stir before pouring it into a cup (and I saw the cup delivered to a party a few tables down from us). That probably isn't very hygienic and it's sad to see that's how things are handled behind the scenes here. I just happened to look over from our table and was pretty disgusted. Moving on, I hope these guys shape up because the quality and taste of food was actually bad. And, I can rarely say that about restaurants I patronize because I love supporting local small businesses. Best of luck to these guys.

The restaurant was clean and parking on a weeknight was easy. If I do come back, I'll go get my usual go to of rice plates. Would've given them 4 stars if not for the spoiled egg rolls.

This is my Elk Grove go to spot for pho! The service is…read morealways fast never a long wait, and never any issues with my order. The grilled shrimp spring rolls are one of a kind I love how they have chives in the middle. This place isn't the biggest but I love that about it. I usually go alone and sit in the corner set my phone up, put my earphones in and watch tv while I enjoy my nice hot bowl of pho tai (rare steak) and grilled shrimp spring rolls mmm so much comfort it gives me every-time I take a trip there. Lastly I've recently tried their Thai iced tea and it was DELICIOUS! For someone who doesn't care those drinks too much it was great! Speaking of pho I'm overdue for my next fix. See you soon pho bistro!

One of our favorite spots that my husband and I keep coming back to whenever we're in town…read more The food is consistently solid, food always comes out hot, flavorful, and comforting. The broth has that slow-simmered taste that makes it feel like a real go-to, not just a quick meal. Their menu is simple & not overwhelming, yet still offer many dishes. The service is another reason we don't really stray elsewhere. The staff are always friendly without being overbearing, and they check in at the right times. Orders come out pretty quick, even when it's busy. They keep it organized & running smoothly. It's a relaxed and easygoing atmosphere, nothing too flashy but clean and welcoming with ample of parking spaces available. Not to mention they can also accommodate larger groups. Overall, it's chef kiss. We shall return!
