I am a bbh snob and I came here off the suggestion of a random stranger at a casino when discussing the best pho spots. I didn't have high expectations, but boy was I wrong. We ordered grilled pork spring rolls, bun Bo hue or the spicy noodles, and a combo pho . For drinks we had an orange juice and Vietnamese iced coffee. The spring rolls were so good! Packing the flavor in the grilled pork. The bbh AMAZING! I'm telling you it tasted authentic and delicious. I would have wanted more chillies, but I added the chili on the table instead. The drinks ... top notch. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was their pho. The broth was a little bland and took a lot of me seasoning for my partner. I understand because it is Elk Grove and they have to cater to different palettes. The chili oil was also not spicy and looked like a mixture of the Chinese red chili. As a southeast Asian who loves spice, that was a little disappointing. Other than that, everything else was great. I peeked over at someone's vermicelli noodles and I will def have to try that soon. Service was kind and fast and the the restaurant itself gave family owned. Not sure but I was getting the vibe .
I have my go-to pho spots, but my husband and I were feeling adventurous, so we decided to try this place since it was near the movie theater we were at. Walked in during Sunday dinnertime, and the place was full. Nothing breathtaking in the decor department. It felt like most of the other pho establishments I've been to. Luckily, a table was finishing up, so we sat within 5 minutes. Side note: the front is a bit awkward because it looks like you should stop right when you walk in and be greeted by a host, but you need to keep going past to the cash register. Don't get caught standing awkwardly as we did. When we sat and got a chance to look at the menu, we were very pleased with the prices. Very affordable, and when we looked around, we saw big bowls and plates, so we thought we were in for a reasonably priced feast. We started with calamari. My husband got a small chicken pho bowl, and I got a beef vermicelli bowl. First off, the calamari, while the pieces looked humongous, was mostly just fried batter. The calamari itself was super chewy and tough. I ended up stripping most of the fried part off so I could really chew into the calamari. I did like the veggies and garnish, though. I ended up nibbling on those afterwards since I was so disappointed by the calamari. I had a small bite of my husband's pho bowl (pretty decent amount for a small) and honestly wish I had gotten that instead of my dish. My vermicelli dish had a meager amount of beef and didn't hold much of any of the flavor I tried to add. Perhaps I didn't add enough sauce or seasonings (I don't usually get vermicelli dishes). Still, I think I enjoy the overall experience of eating pho more since I can always easily take a sip of the broth to chase my food down. I probably will go back to my usual places for pho, but I feel there are still some dishes where this place shines. Unfortunately, those weren't the ones we ordered this time.
Went here for the first time for lunch with my cousins. The place was nice. Pretty simple inside. It has a casual and relaxed vibe with plenty of seating so it's a Comfortable spot for lunch. The food was good and we enjoyed our meal. The service was okay. Overall, a nice first visit and a good spot for a casual meal.
I first went to Pho Ivy when they first changed names, but hadn't returned since. Maybe I wasn't impressed when the first opened years ago, but I really enjoyed my recent visit. I had the B8 (pho). Good portion, lots of meat. Broth was flavorful; seemed to be high in fat content. They do get busy. Service was pretty quick and friendly. As Elk Grove has gone through more and more development in recent years, parking in this lot has become not so easy to find at times.
First time customer, was craving something soup based and came across Pho Ivy. Noticed the outdoor seating and store front. A few tables outside and upon entering, menus are up front. You order and pay first and choose a table to sit and the staff will bring your order to you. Since it's a lovely and sunny day, we had chose to sit outdoors. Our meal arrived within five minutes after ordering. Very fast service. I order the Pho Chicken, very flavorful. Delicious broth. Enjoy my meal, affordable and delicious. I would highly recommend. Will likely return in the future.
This has been my go-to ever since Pho Le closed, but I stick more to the E1 grilled pork over vermicelli rice noodles and not so much the pho. Phone-in orders are convenient, pay at pickup, wait times not bad on weekends. They open pretty early, at 10AM if you're wanting to beat the lunchtime rush. Lots of tables inside; they don't really have anywhere designated for waiting so either take a table outside or inside if it's free. The marinade for the grilled pork is also on the sweeter side. The peanuts come as whole/halves rather than chopped. Their nuoc cham sauce leans more on the sweet side rather than fishy, and their peanut sauce for the shrimp spring rolls is just okay.
Finally tried the bun bo hue after so many friends recommending this place!! Definitely did not miss and hit the spot immediately after the first sip, really flavorful broth. So much meat and the noodles weren't too big which I prefer. They were so busy even on a weekday too so that definitely speaks for itself. Plenty of tables and service was fairly fast despite them being so busy. Definitely recommend the BBH here!
This place seems to be very popular and always busy every time I come here. None of the food disappoints and everything I had so far was very tasty! The ambience is ok but not great and I dislike the A/C and fans blowing even on a cold cloudy day! I definitely will be back! Enjoy
We Ordered through DoorDash this time Ordered rare steak pho And rare steak with meatball pho The broth is very tasty - the portions are a good size for a large, I got full off half. I was able to request extra hoisin packets and they actually honored my request which I very much appreciated! The to go order comes with a box of the noodles, the protein and the greens (cilantro, green onion and sliced white onion) Then the broth comes in a separate container And then they give a bag of basil, bean sprouts, a slice of lemon and sliced jalapeño with one hoisin and one sriracha packet. The rare steak was good quality as well. Very happy with our order especially the taste of the broth! Will definitely be ordering from here again!
Very good solid spot for Pho! If you're craving pho I'd definitely recommend coming here. The portions are big and priced pretty fair. We got the B1 (combination) and B2 (rare steak). The broth came out piping hot and has good flavors. There was also a good amount of meat and toppings. Only downside is that service isn't the fastest and there's usually a wait.
We got here right when it opened. The place is contemporary, decorated beautifully with light-medium tone wood, and gives you a relaxing vibe. The service was good giving we were there right when they opened, menus came out, water, then ordered. It was a bit early for me to eat as I tend to not eat until afternoon. I got the Combination Pho B1. The broth was clear foggy, done right, however not as flavorful nor fragrant as I could not taste some of the key spices, specifically star anise. I tend to like my pho a bit more rich in beef flavor, whereas this place was a little less so.

The restruant is pretty small and feels cramped especially when full. When seated we didn't get menus or anything until after we asked. They took our order and the food came out. But we still didn't have any utensils so we had to wait again for them to ask them to bring it. The pho is pretty standard nothing stood out or amazed me. I do like that they load it with green onions/cilantro and don't skimp like other places. Overall an acceptable place for pho.
Pho ivy is a decent pho restaurant. The restaurant was full with a quick rotation of people waiting and leaving. A sign of a good pho restaurant. I ordered the combination pho, which arrived with a generous assortment of meats was plentiful and satisfying. The noodles were springy and well-cooked. The broth itself was just okay but unremarkable. It did its job, warm and comforting but not as flavorful and delicious as I wanted it to be.
Visiting family and checked Yelp for good Pho. Decided on Phi Ivy and glad we did. Very clean and friendly staff. Made substitutions without any issues. Service was awesome and the food was flavorful. Food arrived temperature appropriate and the serving size was generous. They had lots of options definitely something for everyone. My husband went to grab a banh mi sandwich with a side and a drink. He ordered via the app and they have not start to make it before he went in. Looks like they didn't closely monitor that app. No biggie, it was pretty fast. It was just enough time for me to take over that Pokemon gym. The sandwich is on the oily side based on the paper. They did gave a lot of fries that it overflow and have to secure with a elastic band. They also gave a container of merchandise not the packet ones. The interior is exactly the same as before. Not renovated. The staff are different team. Not sure if the kitchen staff was the same crew or not. Overall better price than sourdough. read more

It was my first time back here after some time, and we were craving some good, hearty food for lunch, so we decided to eat at Pho Ivy. The dining room was a bit busy, so we waited a few minutes for a booth to become available. Once the table was cleaned, we were warmly greeted by the staff and given menus to place our order. Everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and very satisfying. I love the large portions for the price--definitely enough leftovers to take home. I thought this place was pretty good. The staff are nice and friendly. Good customer serve. The dining area was medium size. The place looked clean. I ordered B4, Rare steak and tripe. The soup was tasty. The steak and tripe was fresh. Tripe can sometimes be chewy, but it wasn't. We also order some fries. I just had a craving for some. It came out nice and hot. It tasted like Mc D fries. My husband wanted an appetizer, we ordered salt and pepper pork. I couldn't eat it. It was too spicy for me. After the first bite, I was dying. So I have been wanting to try this place and finally got to last night. It's in a little strip mall with a lot of parking. We went for dinner and there were a few tables full but still seating for us. When I went inside I was a little confused. It looked like a order at the counter and then go to your table place. A worked said to pick a table and they will take our order which I was good with. I don't really like the places that you have to wait in line to order then find a table. I started off with the salt and pepper spareribs. It came with onions and peppers mixed in. It was really spicy and my wife couldn't eat them. It was alot. Next we got the fries. Wow what a big portion and they were crispy. liked them but once they got cold they didn't taste the same. good buy. Lastly I got a large B1. The combination. Usually at places the large isn't really that much bigger in stuff they put in it but not here. It was huge with big portion of noodles and other stuff. My wife got a Small B2 and it was much smaller. The broth was nice and so were all the cuts of meat in it. I really enjoyed it. I couldn't even finish my soup. I asked for a container and the server offered me a cup of broth to go home with me. Such great customer service. I have never seen this before. I will be coming back to try more food here for sure. read more

First time trying this pho spot and I have to say quick service, large portions and good prices! I ordered C8 with rice noodles (assorted seafood) and my husband ordered B1 large. Both bowls had a ton of toppings! They're really generous with the meat here! Broth was very flavorful that I did t need to use hoisin and sriracha sauce. We also ordered the salt and pepper calamari. Not the flavor I was expecting, it was tossed with a ton of onion, jalapeño, and green onion. The calamari wasn't very flavorful but it came with sweet chili sauce. It was crispy on the outside but not my favorite. Next time I'll stick with the spring rolls! Overall, I would come here again to try the Bo bun hue next time! read more

Very disappointed in my experience today. Never been to a Vietnamese restaurant where they serve French fries as well. Make the spring rolls thick to put less meat.. pork is hard. The egg cake was okay. For all the advertising I see.. no thank you. read more

The GOOD: - Menu looked amazing The BAD: - Didn't allow us to sit inside because of my service dog. The UGLY: - They didn't understand ADA federal regulations. - They didn't want to hear an explanation of ADA rules and just kept looking around the restaurant like they didn't have room. - They clearly had a table where we would have been out of the way and my German Shepherd would not have been in the way. - They were rude. I would not recommend this place for the sheer fact that they do not understand ADA regulations and this is something they should know if they own a restaurant. Next step is to file a complaint with the city and the DOJ. read more

I had DoorDash. Got the bun and spring rolls. Both were delicious. I really appreciate that they make their peanut sauce thick. Most places makes it watery. No complaints. If possible. Is there a way to order the bun in a bowl next time? Would prefer it in a bowl so I can easily shake and mix vs the paper plate. read more

Decent overall experience with one major downside. We came in on a Sunday with no line and saw an available table that just needed to be cleaned, so we waited. It was not a big deal. It would have been nice though if someone had at least acknowledged us or asked how many were in our party. After a waiter finished cleaning the table, he called us over by just pointing and wiggling his finger. No words and no eye contact. It came off pretty rude, like we were not even customers. I do not expect top tier service, but basic manners go a long way and this felt disrespectful. Honestly I have had more polite interactions at some fast food places. The food was decent. Nothing bad but nothing that really stood out either. On a positive note, the waitress and another waiter with glasses were polite and pleasant, just not particularly memorable. read more

Decided to come here with the wife on a cold Sunday evening. They were very busy, but they were quick to clean the table and get it ready for us. First, the portion size and amount of meat in the large pho is pretty good for Elk Grove. I felt like the spices were a little too strong in the broth. Probably because it was end of day and so everything was very concentrated. The banh xeo was good with some pork and shrimp and plenty of bean sprout. I would go back, but I do want to try the other viet places in EG before deciding which is the best. read more

Not my first time here, but when I'm in the area, I love stopping by! I took my parents here for their first time and let's just say, they loved it. We came in during lunch hours, and it was packed! Super full and luckily there was one table available for us. The staff quickly set up the table and provided quick service! They were nice. The restaurant looks cozy and has a nice, beautiful design all around, with decors complementing the dining area. It was modern and comforting. It's a mid-size restaurant, but there were plenty of tables. My parents ordered the B1 combination and I ordered the B8. They loved how good the broth tasted (they've never praised a restaurant before!) and it was refreshing and delicious, delicious enough for my elderly father to finish the entire bowl! They even commented the plate of beansprouts and greens being super crunchy and fresh- meaning it's good quality. I loved the B8 as I prefer just mostly meat in my pho. The noodles were soft, slightly chewy and the broth tasted really good, clean and comforting. The meat and noodle portion was plenty enough for the size I got (small). Overall this place has been approved by my parents and I! I'd come back here more often if I lived nearby. read more

We love our Vietnamese Food and Pho Ivy is one of our favorite. Our usual: Grilled Pork Over Rice Plate Combination Noodle Soup Fried Calamari Crispy Vietnamese Egg Rolls Vietnamese Crepe Everything is yummy! Soup broth is always a hit and hubby's favorite - Vietnamese Crepe is a must try if you don't mind using your hands I believe this is family owned & operated. This place is busy, specially during lunch hours 1130 -130 & dinner time from 5-8. Food comes out quick, their kitchen is well staffed (gma, mama and maybe dad) and there's usually just 2 yound individuals on the floor/register who attends to the customers. I've never seen this place empty. If you come, and it's full - STAY and Wait! They are very pleasant and attentive, checked in on us often for water. Place is clean, plenty of parking, $tag is a few dollars more expensive but it's Elk Grove so it's expected vs Sacramento. Worth it! I ordered the combination meat pho. The noodles and meats were good and the portion size was generous but the broth just didn't do it for me and didn't taste very fresh overall.
