Amazing service, okay food. The ambiance was a bit weird with flashing led lights with a mixed sense of the holidays to a rave or karaoke bar on the ceilings and walls. We had family dinner for my aunts birthday and she wanted to try this place out. I heard a rumor that it was the second Restaurant of the original tealicious on Freeport, but they recently sold licious. I personally love Tealicous. They are always so very busy, so don't expect customer service there, just great food. Licious has the exact opposite, great service and okay food. We ordered the following: Szechuan green beans- cooked perfectly with a crunch still. Lacked flavor- not spicy. Fish and tofu clay pot- the fish tasted sweet, oddly. The fried tofu was perfect. Juicy and soft, Beef short ribs skillet- very fatty. You are paying for fat. Maybe it was a bad day. Tiger prawns with pumpkin- it is battered with salted egg, but it's not that salty. I wish it was saltier because I love salted egg. Battered and fried perfectly!!! The Tiger prawns are HUGE!!!!!! I've never eaten such big prawns in my life. The pumpkin was so soft and sweet with the perfect crunch from the salted egg batter. IT JUST NEEDED MORE SALT. Lots of pumpkin! Lobster- lacked flavor and was a very small lobster with not a lot of meat. Salt and pepper fried tofu for appetizer- yummy yummy. Perfect. Whole roasted duck- flavor was perfect, but the skin texture was stale. It wasn't like how it tastes at Tealicious. I don't know why the skin wasn't crunchy. Shrimp and egg chow fun- lacked flavor and too wet. Service was amazing for our two tables total of 18. They kept checking on us and even packed all of our food. There were two servers and only 3 other small tables with ours. The restaurant is quite small and is only for up to I believe 35 people on Theo occupant load signage. If you're looking for pretty good Chinese food, try this spot. We ordered wonton noodle soup and the beef stew noodle soup. Both were decent, but I didn't like the wontons. It had a weird taste. The flying shrimp noodles were pretty good. The shrimp was good and had a lot of flavor. The floating chopsticks were interesting and artistic. This dish is probably popular for that. My family and I tried Licious for lunch. We were their only patrons so we were a little surprised at the lackluster reception by the waitress. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated. Parking can be a challenge since it's located near two other popular fast food restaurants. As for the food, we tried the roasted crispy skin pork, beef chow fun, roasted duck noodle soup, won ton soup, and cold lion roar milk tea. The dishes were all tasty. Roasted pork had good flavor and skin was nicely crisp. The chow fun was not oily and had wok "breath". Both the soup dishes were great: noodles had an al dente texture, won tons had a good "snap", and roasted duck was quite flavorful. The milk tea was really good, too; it came with an ice cube in the shape of a lion - which is why the drink's name is "lion's roar." We are definitely adding Licious to our normal list of restaurants to dine at in Elk Grove and looking forward to trying more dishes! read more

This is the only local restaurant that I know that has the flying noodles! Definitely had to check them out. Came here on a weeknight so they were not busy. Our server was really nice and recommended some options. We ended ordering the beef flying noodle, their special garlic spareribs and garlic pea shoot veggie. The presentation for the flying noodle was really cool. They used a pair of chopsticks to hold up the noodles. Taste wise was pretty good but didn't stand out to me. We decided to come check this place out looking for another Chinese food place in Elk Grove and was pleasantly surprised! The restaurant is definitely like a mom and pop shop but we felt that the service was pretty timely. We got the lunch special and felt that the portion and price was reasonable! Decided to try this restaurant after seeing it on IG! Wanted to try the flying noodles specifically and it did not disappoint! Only issue is that the portion size was a bit small for the price tag. I also ordered a veggie dish, sweet and sour pork ribs, spicy eggplant and pork, and deep fried intestines. As for the flying noodles, I ordered the lobster tail. Everything tasted great except for the egg plant dish, it had a very strong orange peel or pomelo peel flavor. Ordered 5 bowls of rice and they were low on rice so had to cook a new batch but we finished eating before the rice was ready so they charged us for 3 bowls of rice versus 5 bowls. The ambience of the place was very plain (see picture) and some of the tables and chairs looked like it came from a ware house store. The restaurant was very clean, including the restrooms. It is a family oriented experience. The server was very polite and attentive. She really cared and would often ask if everything's alright. The menu looked like any other Chinese Restaurant I've visited-nothing unusual. Now for the food! Before I ordered, I looked at other tables and saw the typical dishes you find at other places such as sweet and sour pork, chow mein, fried rice. Everything looked good and the patrons seem to be enjoying it. I ordered the chinese curry chicken, specifically requesting it to be MILD, wor wonton soup and steamed rice. I waited a few minutes and the soup was delivered. It tasted really good, especially the house made wontons. However, it was luke warm and not hot. A few minutes after that, out came the curry chicken. It's was hot and obviously fresh made but it was not mild. It was pretty spicy but it actually tasted excellent, so I didn't send it back. The white rice tasted good. One item that really stands out was their special blend hot green tea. Absolutely the best I've tasted. Overall I feel this is a pretty good place but not as good as others I've visited. Their special lunch menu looked good. It's open until 130am most nights so it's great when you're craving more than just fast food late at night. Services was okay, minimal interaction with the staff. We spoke with the manager/owner, and he said It's their soft opening right now. The grand opening is in September and they will be opened til 1:30 am. It will be so cool to have a late eats in Elk Grove. I feel like most places close by 9 or 10 pm. Of course, we had to order the escargot cooked in garlic black bean sauce. It reminds me of HK late night eats. It goes great with a ice cold beer! If escargot is not your thing (I get it), they have so many dishes to choose from. I love duck - we had the duck claypot, and the sauce is AMAZING. I can eat a whole bowl of white rice with their duck sauce. The fried green beans is better than most places. It's not oily, nicely fried, and so good! They don't have all the beverages and desserts set up yet, but I had the Hong Kong Milk Tea. It's totally legit! I wasn't thinking about leaving a review until something terribly shady happened. The food here is average, nothing stood out as amazing. I was in Elk Grove visiting family and we decided to get takeout Chinese, this was close by so we stopped in. The day we came, there was one server who was running around stressed out and didn't have the greatest attitude. But we get it, it's a highly stressful environment to be in when you're the only one taking orders, bussing tables and closing tabs. We didn't leave a tip for our takeout because the server was so unfriendly. A few days later, my family member that paid for the takeout told me the restaurant authorized her card for more than it should have been. It appears the restaurant staff added a nice 20% tip themselves. This was super dishonest and shady. Other than the food being mid grade, terrible service, they're also very shady. I think overall, this place is a nice addition to Elk Grove. We really love tealicious and had given that restaurant a 5 star review. We had high hopes when coming to licious, but the overall experience was lackluster. When we first arrived here, the server was very enthusiastic and asked us if we want to order any drinks, i was glancing at the drinks menu but didn't really see anything I liked but she said they are doing a special on lemon tea thats not on the menu, and i was thinking the lemon tea at tealicious is tasty and reasonably priced at $1.50 or $2, so i said sure, I'll take one. We browsed at the menu a little bit and decided to order the duck claypot and a stir fry veggie. 1. Special Cantonese Duck Pot 2/5: not really my cup of tea, the duck is tough and the flavor is like those of braised pork. The portion is pretty small for $22 dollars of food. Definitely not 1/2 a duck worth compared to a half roast duck at $18. Maybe there wasnt even 1/4 of a duck. 2. Stir fry veggie with garlic: 5/5 this is so good! Good portion for $16 and very tasty 3. Lemon tea: 2/5 This tastes pretty good with a cute bear shape ice, but when the receipt came, this came out to by $8, which is ridiculously overpriced for a pretty small size drink with no toppings. Overall, we were pretty disappointed in this restaurant and wish they just open a carbon copy of Tealicious here. But we will probably give it one more chance. Overall impression is that the good is middle of the tier but everything was just ridiculously overpriced. I would drive an extra 15 minutes to Tealicious for better food for much cheaper. read more

Wonton noodle soup with noodles-3/5 Noodles were over cooked and were an interesting choice. 2 plate bbq- roast duck and empress chicken is what we got. We wanted the signature tea king chicken and bbq but they didn't have any. Beef chow mein crispy noodle (Hong Kong style)- noodles were a little too deep fried for my liking and didn't have any non crunchy noodles. I'm used to this dish having both crunchy and softer noodles in the center. Sweet and sour pork-with fried rice. I liked this dish the most. Healthy portion size. Fried rice was freshly made (initially the waitress said only steamed rice was available; no chow mein or fried rice like the menu says as an option for the combo- due to staffing, but she still made it possible for fried rice) I was hoping to like this restaurant more, like their sister one in Sacramento. We got hungry after our massages and decided to try this place out. I have seen on social media of their "flying noodles" so that was a dish we were going to try. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and got seated right away. There wasn't anyone there except us on a Thursday evening. The restaurant had a lot of Chinese writings on the walls and there were little knick knacks around with Chinese writings on them that kept us busy as we were reading along while waiting for our food. We ended up ordering the dried scallop and egg white fried rice, the prawn flying noodles and the crab and fish maw soup. The only reason I knocked a star off was because the fish maw soup did not have real crab meat, but imitation crab. I was bummed, but the dishes we ordered were full of flavor. We love some nice, authentic Chinese food that has offerings that you can't just find anywhere! This cute, comfortable shop was very welcoming and happy to have us. We had Chicken Congee, Crispy Duck, Cream Cheese Dumplings and the most wonderful Steak, Ginger, Mushroom dish! Congee is not readily available in Reno and so when I saw it on the menu I knew it was a must order dish, I was not disappointed! Truly, we loved this place. The noodles weren't oily but it was hard and not crispy in a good way. Also the dish did come with a bowl of brown gravy with onion in it, but it was bland and tasted like water down soy sauce. The sauce did not make anything different to the dish. Would I order again, or recommend it, nope. . Sizzling beef short ribs - it did not come out sizzling when dropped off at the table. The first impression of the whole table was dissapointing. The dish was salty and was a no repeat on this dish again. . Crab meat soup with fish maw - it was salty and I didn't like how they used imitation crab. It tasted ok for the soup, just nothing memorable or would order again as well. . Salmon head clay pot- some meaty chunks of the salmon was still raw and I didn't eat it when I seen that because the temperature isn't cooked right, a tummy ache is about to happen if I did consume it. The family said it wasn't cooked long enough on the pan fry griddle. . Tea soy sauce chicken - I liked this and does have a nice tea flavor in the soy sauce when they steamed the chicken in it. I would get this again. . Seafood clay pot - the bowl looked sad for the presentation. It looked empty in the clay pot. The seafood mix inside wasn't grand or like good. It was just ok. Won't order again is what the family said. . Overall we were dissapointed with the options we tried. Maybe we ordered the wrong items. WOW, the presentation of the dishes ate fantastic. I've been wanting to try this place ever since seeing it on social media. The flying noodle was definitely the star dish of the restaurant. It tasted super delicious and I loved it. I also tried the BBQ pork and duck rice plate and it tasted good. As for my milk tea, I thought it was cool how the little ice dragon was included. But to my surprise, the drink was too sweet for me. However, I added some of the hot tea that they served us into my milk tea to perfectly balance out the sweetness of the milk tea! We arrived at 6:45pm and were very lucky they still had the last window seat available. Authentic Chinese food but for a pretty penny. Many of the dishes we got were 10/10. The only dish that didn't meet our expectations was the clay pot fish with mushroom and bean curd. It was a tad bit salty and the bean curd was not soaked long enough which made it chewy in the center and not soft how it should be. Service is about what I expect when I visit Chinese restaurants. It was fine. The dining area definitely gets hot. I'm not sure if the A/C was even working but it was not pleasant dining in.
