I ordered their #14 Classic Bun Bo - this is the spicy broth section. I ordered this as it looked familiar in the list of items needed to make this soup. They took the menu so I can rewrite them here. I just know it's called classic. Waited for about 10 mins. When my bowl arrived, it appeared surprisingly large. You can see the orange red oils at the top which indicates its spicy seasonings. A plate of fresh veggies: red cabbage, cilantro, basil. Another side of partial cooked onions. My wife loves this place, but the lack of variety is what deters me from eating here. Don't get me wrong, the food they do have can be really delicious, especially if you like chicken. However, you can't just walk in and order traditional Vietnamese Pho, which is understandable because they're known for their chicken plates and bowls. They always greet you with a friendly hello and never take too long to come take your order. They often let you pick whichever table you like unless it's busy also. Service is good .. servers are attentive and helpful. I ordered the #9 hainan chicken salad with garlic rice while my son ordered the chicken pho plain .. also had some Chinese donuts for our soups. The chicken salad with rice is sooo good! I love it and have not found another place around that serves it this way and this good. My go to when I want a refreshing and savory hainan chicken salad rice plate. My son said the chicken pho was refreshing the broth tasted good. I have been wanting to branch out and try a new BBH place, and after scouring the reviews for Saigon 88, I decided to give them a try. The restaurant is located in a quiet strip mall by the United Artists theater. There is plenty of parking. The interior has a lot of booths, some for groups and some for parties of two, so you'll definitely be comfortable while enjoying your hot bowl of soup. The menu is limited, with a focus on Pho Ga and BBH. Obviously I was only here for the BBH, so I went with the BBH 88 one, which comes with all the meats and pork blood. The condiment section has plenty of fixings if you want to add any, including a giant carafe of chili fish sauce. There were only two servers, but they were both friendly and attentive. I was given a carafe of water, which I always appreciate, since I drink a lot of water when eating. My BBH came with a side of fresh herbs as well as pickled onions. I don't often receive pickled onions so this was great. I particularly enjoyed eating them with the pork blood cubes. There were also banana blossoms with the herbs, which I liked, as it seems very few places here serve banana blossoms. It was a bit of a wait for me to get my BBH, and my server thanked me for waiting. I said I didn't mind at all. However, if you are in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. My bowl was huge and steaming hot. I was really happy that I got not just one, but two pork hocks. At my usual BBH place in south sac I only get one, but the portion is smaller. There was a ton of broth. Personally, the ratio of broth to noodles/meat was a little off. The broth wasn't as lemongrass-y as I would have liked, and it also wasn't as flavorful as the place I go to is. It had a good spice level though, and adding extra limes to the broth helped. Next time I'll see if I can ask for some shrimp paste, because it was also lacking some of that funk. The noodles were really nice and bouncy, and the pieces of meat I did receive were tender. The star of the show was of course the pork hocks. Nothing beats their tender fatty goodness. The pork blood was solid and a nice consistency. The cha was thinly cut, but still good. I wasn't able to finish my broth, so I saved a pork hock and some meat along with the rest of the broth to enjoy at a later time. For the price, it was definitely a big bowl of BBH, but it wasn't my favorite. I'd rather go back to my usual spot that serves BBH in a hot stone pot (formerly Tu Quy but now called Pho Plus 101), but Saigon 88 will do if I want a place where I have leftovers to take home. read more

We ordered the hainan chicken rice dish which came with soup and #14 noodles. When we eat that it was past 4 pm after a long day of Pokemon raid and it is our first meal (real food) for the day. The chicken seasoning is quite heavy and chicken is quite dry (like cooked in advanced and not juicy). The chicken soup is a bit on the salty side, and maybe it meant to eat with the rice. The beef noodles taste so much better. It was a bit on the spicy side but tolerable. The beef slices are good. Overall I like that noodles way more than the chicken rice dish, which was surprising. Came in to eat lunch with my partner for the first time today. No wonder this place has so many good reviews, this spot took over the original spot of Pho Le. The layout is the same with some added renovations. The artwork is so beautiful with Vietnamese culture when you first walk in. Their menu is big on pho ga (chicken) and other chicken dishes, which isn't too common with many of the pho places in town. Its a bummer they took away the beef pho from their menu. Their chicken is free range chickens and you can customize which noodles you want from thin, thick, Vermicelli, or the bean thread. We ordered the pho ga with thick pad thai noodles and a bowl of bun bo hue. Omg, the amount of green onions abd fried onions and loved the amount of broth, so, so amazing!! Their toppings even had banana blossoms too which i found so amazing as not many serves this authentic topping to their bbh. Their hot chili oil is more on the spicy level, so I'd probably add a sparse amount if you just want a bit of heat. Additionally, every table has their own pitcher size of the, oh, so famous sweet Vietnamese fish sauce. Theirs has some ginger in it so its a nice dipping sauce to compliment the chicken dishes. It reminds me of the scallion ginger sauce for Hainese chicken. The service was adequate as they only had one waitress on hand.. We waited for about 12 min before staff came to assist. She came three times to check on us too. :) Overall, you can tell they pay attention to the details from the authentic toppings, broth, and quality. The problems with the previous review have been resolved. There were a lot of noodles in my takeout order (albeit I aired it out a bit grabbing the noodles - I had more than a handful in the takeout order). This is the way I remember it, how it is supposed to be. Albeit they give you less cabbage, but it is enough to get a good few spoonsful in. Take out from Pho places are nice, because when you assemble it, yourself it looks like as in the restaurant. Just put stuff into your noodle bowl, boil the soup until it is slightly bubbling and then pour into noodle bowl container. It helps if you got a stainless-steel pot with a pouring lid for this. As you get older, you know you want to eat greasy pork foods at home. Ehrm, in case you know, need to use the restroom? To be fair good proteins will also do this but eh, safety first. I am unsure if they make the noodles or not, but the consistency of the noodles and taste appears so. Usually noodle places get lazy enough and you feel clumpy noodles as you eat, meaning reheated or it was sitting there for a while. I got good noodles every time, and hopefully not some dudes leftover cause they dint want to make more the last time. Don't skimp my noodles dude. My girl likes the chicken noodles, and my boy really likes the soup. The chicken noodles come with scallion sauce, and their lovely ginger sauce, that usually costs you money (2-4 bucks each wot?) due to either greedy people and or lazy people. I consider it both. This came with it free. The annoying part of takeout is you need to order online. The good part is that they will call you on the random notes you put on like dark chicken meat only etc. and see what they can do about it. I think they give you all thighs anyways. Which is good cause thigh meat being hard to overcook and stays tender. Meaning good for takeout. If you get take-out here or eat in the restaurant. I'd suggest you order the dollar chips. They gave me a whole box to go of chips, that is a steal, literally like gave me a bag of chips for a buck. I ate some and it tasted kind of slightly burnt, but the flavor was there, and the size was dead on like they made it themselves. Makes me want to try their doughnuts now. My girl and boy ate all the chips when I woke up. We only had a piece each before we went to bed. I was told they stayed good overnight. Nice thick shrimp chips the size of cookies... Note. Ordered the extra noodles for 4 bucks. It was a good-sized container and probably about a handful (not a maximized handful) Kinda worth it, worth it if they make noodles fresh, most definitely worth it if that soup came with it. That would make it a large upgrade and or to be used as a quick snack for later. Considering they call you back for orders, I think that extra noodles for 4 bucks did come with soup. Need to confirm this if so, and if they do... I found my noodle place I will be going to for a while. As this is the cheapest place, best taste, for the crazy rent in this area. This place rivals many old school Pho places either closed down or they lost their chef. Considering I used to eat good Pho for dirt cheap, this is the sad expectation, pay well for good food. In this case, about as much as a large combo meal from fast food or two special hamburgers. Rather have this, as it is more filling. Need to try their egg noodle with the chicken soup next time. We finally got around to trying sitLo's new sister restaurant and we all left super satisfied! They look over the old Pho Le, so if you're familiar with this location, you know there is ample parking and space for larger parties too. There were 7 of us on a Friday night around 6pm. We were seated immediately, towards the back of the restaurant where is was quiet and spacious. We ordered right away, as the server was super patient with our order and even gave us extra pickled onions. Our food came out at a reasonable time and everything was piping hot and fresh. Most of us ordered the Number 1 with the chicken innards, which we loved the option to add. We also got the Hainan chicken rice to share and WOW, the rice was fantastic!
