We had to dine outside because we had a dog (which is fine) but she insisted that in Sacramento people who dine outside have to carry out our own plates to the table AND bring the plates/cups/utensils back in. That it is customary in Sacramento. Ok then, what about to those that are elders or disabled who can't bring the plates? I was lucky I had few of my fam to help but there's no warmth to this owner. No one even checked on us at all! We would have left but we had to pay upfront before we found out we had to be the waitress. Food wasn't even worth it (papaya was bland, pad Thai was average). Update: owner replied to this post. Everything that she stated wasn't true at all. I asked why we have to bring all the stuff in and she insisted that it's customary in Sacramento-- she did NOT asked us at all or did we asked, the owner said it immediately when we got seated that we HAD to bring it in. Yes I was upset AFTER we were told to bring the plates and everything in; we just came back from a vacation so we were in a good mood). Please don't make it seem that you were innocent as you also keep mentioning that is how things are in Sacramento and asked where I was even from. Also, we would've been more understanding if we didn't give us an attitude from the start and told us to get our own plate and bring it back in. A word of advice: please hire more staff since that would give some politeness to ALL customers. We came in for lunch and we had about 30 min until the restaurant closed so the person that walked us in said we'd have about 10 minutes to order, which we understood completely. Two minutes after being seated she came up to take our order and we felt extremely rushed. We ended up ordering a papaya salad and a pad se ew, everything non spicy because we don't like spice. The papaya salad came out and it was very very spicy, my partner eats spicy and even he felt like it was extremely spicy. We let her know and she said that's just how they made it and that they only added a little bit of spice. I've had papaya salad several times y different places and it was never spicy. Why wouldn't you warn your customers that it would be spicy? Even when we let her know and she saw we didn't even eat it, she didn't do anything about it. I had a lovely lunch with my partners close to 2pm. There were only a few people in the restaurant so it wasn't busy. We had a wonderful service with attentive staff. We did our best "research project" and ordered everything our table could justify: Thai iced coffee, coconut canopy salad, pad see ew and pad Thai with pork belly, sunset curry with tilapia, and mango sticky rice with ice cream. For science, obviously. Thai Time should put a warning label on their Thai iced coffee. One sip through each layer and the conversation stopped. We woke up. The taste buds clocked in for work. The brain sent out the announcement: "Cancel all distractions -- apparently dinner has plans for us." Good thing we listened. Thammasorn then proceeded to take us on a full Thai flavor adventure. This wasn't just dinner. This was a carefully organized attack on our ability to say, "No thanks, I'm full." The coconut canopy salad started fresh and bright, the noodles brought the comfort, the pork belly brought the celebration, the sunset curry with tilapia brought the "wait, everyone try this" moment. And the mango sticky rice with ice cream showed up at the end like a victory parade. I always read the bad reviews because I'm fascinated by the rare human ability to find sadness while surrounded by curry, noodles, and people being nice to you. They are to be safely ignored. They have an easy online ordering system and I like looking at their special menu items. My favorites are the Tom Kha soup (medium spicy) and their curries. I definitely recommend trying a variety of items, because each time I try something new I feel like I have a new favorite. The owner is very nice as well, she remembers me each time I come in and we always have some nice small talk as I pick up my order. It's Angel hair noodles with white chicken, thinly sliced carrots, diced tomatoes, and there's a choice if you want the sauce to be spicy. We were quickly greeted and seated at one of the window seats and there was just one other table occupied thus far. My wife had the ginger fried chicken and I had the coconut lamb curry. We added a side of brown rice and two green tea lemon bombs. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. Our server advised that dishes are prepared at a mild spice level. I asked that the lamb curry be medium spicy and it was perfect for me.
