My co worker and I stopped by Coconut River Park for lunch since she has never been here before and wanted to check them out. We walk in are a greeted by a gentleman who says, we can pick anywhere to sit and he'll be right with us. I see a few signs throughout the restaurant if you check in on yelp you get $2.00 beer. I check in and our server brings us each a can of IPA! I'm definitely wasn't expecting that for $2.00 We order Coconut Shrimp for our appetizer my coworker ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I ordered the Seafood Tom Kha and Mango with sticky rice with coconut ice cream for my dessert. My coworker loved her sweet and sour chicken I tried it and it was actually really delicious with the fresh veggies and pineapple. My Tom Kha was so flavorful and the coconut broth was delicious. They were very generous with the seafood. I then get my Mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream. It was really good I just felt they were very stingy with the amount of sticky rice they give. The restaurant itself is pretty small and can accommodate an okay amount of indoor dining. It was definitely a packed house at lunch time and I am glad we got there right when they opened. My friend and I were really excited to try Coconut River Park but unfortunately, it just didn't meet our expectations. We ordered the green curry with vegetables and tofu as well as drunken noodles with tofu ToGo. The green curry was pretty good. The curry itself was flavorful and there was ample protein in it. The noodles felt short for us. They were extremely bland and didn't taste like drunken noodles at all. The quantities they gave us were very reasonable for the price. Service was good as well! The restaurant itself has plenty of parking outside and a good amount of tables inside to seat people during busy lunch and dinner times. Maybe we'll try it again some other time! read more

The food was so fresh and flavorful! I tried the beef pad Thai and Thai basil fried rice and omggggg both were delicious and really hit the spot! I also had a glass of plum wine that was sweet, cool, and refreshing. Our server was nice even considering that she was the only person taking orders and in the front of the house. The space is small and cozy with simple decor. If you're coming with a larger group, it's probably a good idea to call ahead so they can make sure there's space. Bonus points for happy hour Monday through Friday until 6 PM most spots end earlier or don't offer it at all these days. Our food came out hot and in a good amount of time. Everything about the dish was pretty tasty. The yellow curry was very mellow, the vegetables, tender, and there is plenty of protein. Much more than I expected. I'm personally not a fan of thinly sliced chicken because I find it becomes too Overcooked. At least for me. It was delicious nonetheless. Service was impeccable, and the wait staff is really nice. I love that the curry comes with purple rice. Something that I've wanted to try, and I was so glad that I did. It's nutty, and simply delicious. My job wanted The Coconut for lunch so I was browsing the menu online and noticed varying pricing which made ordering confusing. If you go to coconutriverpark.com, the pot stickers are $5.95, if you order via Yelp they are $11.64 and if you go to thecoconuttogo.com they are $8.95. So if placing an order online, use the coconut to go website because those are the actual prices. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken in medium spice. TIP: remember, Thai spicy is different than regular spicy. I like some spice and the medium spice was just right for me but it definitely had my nose running. I also got the potstickers and while I'm not really a fan of steamed potstickers, I did enjoy the crispy garlic bits. The potstickers themselves were also good, don't get me wrong. The ginger sauce it came with was nice and thick so it stuck to the potstickers unlike soy sauce would. The ginger sauce was also kind of sweet, it tasted more like a plum sauce to me but I still enjoyed it. The yellow curry had good flavor and quite a bit of chicken pieces but I feel it was overloaded with carrot and the carrot taste almost cancelled out any curry flavor so I ended up picking out a vast majority of the carrots. The gem of suburbia exists, you just have to look for it. Family ran thai with fresh flavors and lovely heat. I was visiting the Gem show at the nearby Masonic lodge, and was really craving some heat for lunch. Lucky for me Coconut River was very close. The heat was nice for medium, I then used some house roasted red peppers and pushed it a bit further After all that heat, I thought it would be good to try the fried bananas and coconut ice cream. What was presented looked absolutely gorgeous and I had to paste myself so that I wouldn't burn my mouth on the hot bananas inside the delicious fried dough outside. Somehow of a testament to sheer willpower I was able to leave a bite or two left because I was really way too full and still had a long drive back home.
