I love Thai food, and it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find a really good Thai restaurant in Sacramento. When one of my favorite dining companions suggested that we try the coconut on Fulton, I was all in. Yes, this is now becoming a local "chain", since they have a few locations. This was without a doubt, one of the most disappointing meals. Services suite, and courteous, but the food just absolutely not good. We started with spring rolls. First of all, it feels like they just charge a lot of money, by taking one roll and cutting it into little pieces. It's ridiculous. The roll left little to be desired. From the Rice paper all the way to the filling. The rice paper tasted like it had been sitting out on the counter. It was rubbery and just gross. The filling was mediocre at best. The tofu was also kind of rubbery tasting. It just wasn't fresh tasting and the dipping sauce left little to be desired. I did make a request for the standard Thai chili sauce, but apparently they had no idea what I was talking about. The beef salad: it was pretty underwhelming. Well, the veggies and the salad were fresh, the meat left little to be desired. It was bland, and overcooked. The chicken Lab: no one should ever have a sad meal, and this was absolutely a sad meal. The chicken Larb was something that never should've been served. Not only was the meat overcooked, but it was completely unseasoned. It tasted like they literally had heated up ground chicken and then served it. Wait, that might've been better than what was on the plate. Larb should be sweet, spicy, flavorful, and this was just so sad. Not a place that I'll go back to... And it's sad to add this to my list of places not to visit again

Yum! My friends and I have been to other locations of The Coconut and have always had a great time, so we decided to try out this one too. I got the pad see ew with tofu. It was delicious! Great balance of salty and sweet. The mango sticky rice is also fantastic - really lets the natural flavors of the ingredients shine through. Service was good and the restaurant is as welcoming as the other locations are. If you need some good Thai food in this area, make a stop!

I absolutely love The Coconut! Usually my friends and I go to the one located in Midtown, not realizing it's the same restaurant/owners. The food is phenomenal here, every dish we've tried has been delicious, filling, and well priced. The restaurant is clean, beautiful inside, the food comes out quickly, and the staff are very nice. There are tons of vegetarian options here as well! My favorite items are the yellow curry, pad see ew, thai fried rice, and the mixed veggie plates. I just had their mango sticky rice and it is a must order, the rice is perfectly sweet (not overly), the coconut ice cream is delightful, and the mango was perfectly ripe. Please check them out and support a great restaurant!

Avocado green curry and pineapple fried rice

Pineapple fried rice with chicken - inedible and had to pick through to find any chicken. Medium spicy must mean no spice. Avocado green curry - bland. Nothing like it used to be. Again, barely any chicken even though extra chicken was ordered. Thai iced tea-not bad but extremely sweet. $59.91 is a lot of money to throw in the trash.

Comfy family-run restaurant with great service, tasty curries with fresh ingredients, decent selection of drinks and beers on tap. We popped by for dinner, it being one of their favorite Thai places. I was not disappointed! I ordered their Panang Curry, which came in this huge bowl with a side of rice. Curry was full of vegetables and firm tofu, with a nice level of spice. So yummy and filling! My friends each ordered the Yellow Curries, their regular orders. Two of got the Ballast Point IPA on tap. I'll definitely be by the next time I'm in town!

Fantastic!! Papaya salad was sooo good as was their sticky rice and pad Thai. Wish it was a tad bit spicier but maybe they assumed we couldn't handle it Can't wait to go back

My family had a birthday party here and they gave us the side room which was so nice so we had our own area and it was intimate. We ordered the Drunken Noodles, Potstickers, Fresh Rolls, Fried Rice, Wings, Cheese Wontons, Coconut Shrimp, Mango Sticky Rice with Ice Cream, and Thai Iced Tea. Loved my tea! The only downside was the first bathroom does not lock so I accidentally opened it to a guy using the restroom and it was so embarrassing and just glad he was turned around so thankfully I didn't see anything but if I was a female I would probably be mortified.

My friends and I went to get Thai food for dinner and this restaurant was recommended. I ordered the yellow curry and it was so delicious! I enjoyed the seasoning and it wasn't too spicy. Also, the portion was very generous and the service was very good! It was also pretty quiet with the exception of a couple families who were also enjoying their meals.

I've been coming to The Coconut Fulton for many years. A lot of the OGs in the Arden area will remember this as the old Thai Chef House restaurant. It's great to see that they kept a majority of the dishes. My current rotation here is the Drunken Noodle with Beef (Or Chicken), Chicken Pad Thai, and Green Chicken Curry with White Rice. My all time favorite is the Drunken Noodle With Beef. The way it is seasoned with the mixture of vegetables, pan fried flat rice noodle and spice is absolutely perfect. The drunken noodle is the best dish in my personal opinion and the reason I keep coming back to Coconut Fulton. Coconut Fulton is super underrated due to it being in the Arden area. Most folks associate good Thai food to be in the midtown or downtown area. This spot in Arden does a great job! If you haven't been then please try the Drunken Noodle here. You'll thank me later.

pad kee mao with chicken - skinny noodles
    Julieanne H.

I just don't understand how, time after time, year after year, they continue to emaciate the noodles in their noodle dishes. It's such a letdown. The Pad Kee Mao (Drunken Noodles) actually has pretty decent flavor, but consistently ruining the texture of the noodles is a dealbreaker for me. Noodles should be in noodle form soft and girl and not shredded and bunched together. There's so much potential here, but the execution just misses the mark year after year.

So nice!! It was so nice inside I wasn't expecting it. It has jazz music playing in the background at a low volume. Looks like a nice wine and beer selection. The staff is attentive and kind and very fast. We got the pad Thai with chicken, calamari and a green curry. All of them were very light and delicious. The curry is a little too thin for my perfect score but it's so good regardless. The pad Thai is a must have. Glad this is close to home and will be back.

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and the staff made us feel very welcomed as soon as me and my mother stepped in. We ordered the chicken green curry, mixed vegetables with tofu, and Thai boat noodle, all were packed with good flavor and tasted fresh. I also ordered the Lao sausage with white and brown rice to-go, and that was just as delicious. (Didn't take photos for that.. sorry). The food came out quickly, and the cozy, charming atmosphere made the experience even better. I'm definitely coming back to try more!

The woman at the front who took my order was very nice. I've dined in before and the tables are fully set up with all the necessary condiments, but today I just needed to get home and hope the food could do its thing. I ordered the pho gai, which is lighter and cleaner than the typical Vietnamese beef pho. The broth has a slightly fermented, deeply umami flavor, probably from fish sauce, along with lemongrass, chicken broth, chicken breast, and ginger. Perfect when you're stuck with a cold. It was packaged really well with chili oil, jalapeños, celery, lime, and the noodles on the side. There isn't a ton of chicken if you're looking for high protein, but I didn't care. It was so good and soothing. Nothing like sweating over a bowl of herbal soup while sick. I also ordered the Lao sausage, which has a great blend of aromatics, especially lemongrass. It comes with a sauce I'm not totally familiar with, but it's bright and limey, likely fish-sauce based, with something like charred pepper or tomato that almost reminds me of a Mexican salsa. So good. This place is awesome. I've only ever gotten soups here, but I definitely need to branch out and try more of the menu. Prices are very fair too. The soup alone was just under 1.5 liters so great bang for your buck.

People just kept piling in... diners and food delivery service as well. The food was still as delicious as I remembered it to be! We had the fried pork, Jay's special, and the pad gra pow. Everything was very flavorful and delicious! Of course, the must have... roti with sweet milk! We left as happy campers!

I'm usually the person who photographs every single meal before eating... but the smell of the food when we opened the containers made me completely forget about photos (which almost never happens). We dug RIGHT in! Everything was amazing. The yellow curry was incredibly flavorful and well balanced. The pad see ew had a great ratio of veggies, noodles, and tofu, and the garlic pepper chicken was packed with flavor. Every dish delivered. Since we did not eat in, I cannot really comment on the service or ambiance. However, they were kind when providing us out to go order and everything was well packaged without any leaks/spills. YUM YUM YUM. We'll absolutely be back.

We walk in are a greeted by a gentleman who says, we can pick anywhere to sit and he'll be right with us. I see a few signs throughout the restaurant if you check in on yelp you get $2.00 beer. I check in and our server brings us each a can of IPA! I'm definitely wasn't expecting that for $2.00 We order Coconut Shrimp for our appetizer my coworker ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I ordered the Seafood Tom Kha and Mango with sticky rice with coconut ice cream for my dessert. My coworker loved her sweet and sour chicken I tried it and it was actually really delicious with the fresh veggies and pineapple. My Tom Kha was so flavorful and the coconut broth was delicious. They were very generous with the seafood. I then get my Mango sticky rice with coconut ice cream. It was really good I just felt they were very stingy with the amount of sticky rice they give. The restaurant itself is pretty small and can accommodate an okay amount of indoor dining. It was definitely a packed house at lunch time and I am glad we got there right when they opened. I will definitely be back to try out other menu items. Coconut River Park did not disappoint.

The flavor is amazing as it is very creamy and nutty. Only thing I think would be better is if they included some veggie or potato in it as it's basically just the protein. Their sticky rice is very good, perfect texture as it clings together well and you can feel the individual grains. Fried shrimp rolls: B Wrapped in a wonton and deep fried. Tastes good with the sauce they serve. Service is very friendly.

The food was a mix of highs and misses. When they got it right, it really worked. When they didn't, it felt flat. The mango curry carried the meal. The green curry dragged it down. Everything else sat somewhere in the middle Parking? Lot We had: Chicken Satay (4/5): Flavor wise, this was locked in. One of the better peanut sauces I've had. Nutty, slightly sweet, with enough depth to keep it interesting. The problem was execution. It came out lukewarm, which dulled the whole experience and made it feel less fresh than it should have. Also could've used more sauce. Still good, just not quite dialed Green Curry (2.5/5): This one just didn't show up. The flavors felt muted and never really came together. The vegetable mix was fine, but it needed more eggplant to give it some body and identity. The chicken was forgettable. Nothing offensive, just flat. Easy pass Mango Curry (4.5/5): This is where things turned around. Bright, layered, and actually interesting. Real mango brought a natural sweetness that worked instead of overwhelming, and the sauce had depth. It felt composed. The vegetables could've been more evenly distributed and the chicken was just okay, but overall this was the standout and absolutely worth ordering again
