Iced mint tea with a hint of sweetness.
Kristi M.

So thankful the cashier took Zelle when I realized my wallet was left in the car! Great place for jury duty lunch. Quiet, clean and delicious! My salad was just beautiful and filling. My iced mint tea was refreshing.

Chicken Tagine

Tiny restaurant with 5 star plus food, service and ambiance. When we ordered the food, my husband told the cashier that we have traveled there before. He was so impressed that he made us some complimentary Moroccan mint tea and poured it the traditional way. Yummy tea.

We came in around noon on a Saturday for a quick breakfast. I have been wanted to try this place and just from walking in I knew it was going to be good. They have made this tiny restaurant into a cozy spot with lots of Moroccan decorations. We had the atlas sunrise and lentil soup with their Moroccan bread. Both had the perfect spice and flavor to it, no notes. My mother who is particularly picky about trying new foods loved it. She even asked me to write a good review for them. The coffee was also very good. Definitely will be coming back here again

Little Morocco café in downtown Sacramento, California. There are not a lot of downtown lunch spots that I have encountered that aligns the universe to give me the exact right vibes. You know... the kind of vibes that you feel welcomed, relaxed due to the cleanliness and simple bright n cheery interior, and in the zone with every sip of your drink and bite of food transporting you to your happy place. By golly, Little Morocco Cafe did that for me. Plus holler, they're halal. The gentlemen that owned the eatery help me navigate the menu. I settled on the day's special tangine royale , a Moroccan beef stew. And on this Spring warm day, I asked for an iced tea. He recommended I order the hot mint tea instead. He advised that it pairs well with my entree and will be refreshing. Ok I was a skeptic, but it wasn't based on his delivery. I'm just a skeptic at heart. But he was right. The hot mint tea was refreshing! Very minty but not artificially minty tasting, genuine flavors. It was served in a small colorful glass tea cup. He poured the first glass with a quick but steady up n down motion. Not a drop splashed. The tea definitely paired well with the stew. The meat was fork tender. Packed with flavor. Sweet n savory. It came with a substantial serving side of rice and side of stewed vegetables in a type of aïoli form, each served on its own plate. Even the rice had flavor. Everything was delicious! The cafe is open Monday-Saturday. M-F 8am to 3pm. Sat 10am-4pm. They serve breakfast. The menu is diverse, lots of choices.

Almond cake

A great place to visit for lunch tucked in near the courthouse and Kaiser DOCO. The food is always delicious and tasty. Couscous salad is light and delicious. Chicken tagine is always good and the meat falls off of the bone. Chicken kabob is also great. All meals are good for sharing with friends or family members. This place is quaint and always clean. They are very attentive and helpful. There's no need to wait for an order to arrive. Almond cake is also delicious paired with Moroccan tea.

Excellent brunch spot. Eggs were cooked to a jammy consistency and the tomato's were stewed well (not too runny). The bread was pillowy with a crunch exterior, great addition to the dish. Highly recommend the lemonades, refreshing flavors! Owner was so nice, will be back!

Food was EXCELLENT, staff was Amazing, and the cook was very ACCOMMODATING. This is a must try.

Pastilla, a Moroccan pastry.
Howard K.

I enjoyed my steaming cup of sweet mint tea, probably the best mint tea of my life, served on a silver platter. I tried the daily special, the Pastilla a Moroccan pie that was both very sweet, a little fruit, savory and meaty, a combination of flavors that I'm not used to but thoroughly enjoyed.

Cous Cous (with beef)

Come on Fridays, when they serve Cous Cous. The food is amazing and the service is even better. As close to Moroccan food as you can get.

EJ A.

With initial high hopes, must be forthright that I wasn't too impressed with this spot. While the service was friendly, the location is right next to the County Jail, there was a lot of odd traffic, and even reading the menu (smallest font in the world on the display screens) was difficult. That last piece was such unnecessary inconvenience. In addition to these points, the food was just okay. I had the Baba's Veggie Omelette, which had no cheese at all in it - just sprinkled Parmesan on top. Very, very lacking in flavor as well. Also had the Moroccan Dessir Salad, which is noted as a favorite, but it was mid at best. Added chicken helped the salad just a bit as that alone did taste good, but that costed nearly an extra $5. Further, the salad hardly had dressing, so it didn't quite come together as well as it could've. I wish I had better to say here, but honesty is policy, and this cafe just didn't hit the mark. Unfortunately, I may not return.

If a place knows how to do that well, chances are, everything else will be amazing as well. There are a ton of other things I want to try, when I come down here next. If I didn't have a shellfish allergy, their seafood omelette would be my first choice... But, maybe I'll still try it one of these days. I just have to make sure I bring my epi pen with me... The service was excellent. They're always fast, efficient, helpful and friendly. The seats are a little snug, cause I've only been able to get a spot at the bar. But, I'm working on that, so next time I'm down there, I'll be ready. If you haven't been to this place, highly recommend it! Go check it out, if you love breakfast as much as this guy!!!

The server said the chicken fried steak was really good, so that was my choice. I thought that I would also enjoy the pork sausage gravy served on top of it since I love biscuit and gravy. I was quite disappointed in my choice because the steak as very tough, and dry, like it was not made in-house but probably frozen, and deep fried in house. The generous serving of gravy on top was lacking any flavor and was on the pasty side, so it didn't help the steak in any way. My toast was cold, which was not too much an issue, but the hardness of the toast was like day old left over toast. I told the server the steak was pretty tough but he chose to ignore my comment twice. I did like the potatoes, which were nice and crispy, but if anything, would've like a fresher piece of toast. One of our guest gave me her butter and that did not spread well on the hard toast. I took the steak home, and heated it a little because I was still hungry, but after one bite, I just tossed it. Just wasn't good. The guest next to me did order the omelette, and her omelette did look very good. I was just unhappy with my meal, for the price, which would've been worth it, if it were good.

Our waitress came over shortly after. I see a lot of mixed reviews about the service, and I think some staff members are friendlier and more outgoing than others, but even the less friendly servers were still attentive, helpful, and quick. I think it just depends on who you get and whether you value a really friendly interaction or care more about the food and basic service. We tried a cappuccino since the host said they make all their coffee in-house, and it was pretty good, especially coming from someone who doesn't drink coffee. We chose the fried green tomatoes as our starter, and they were delicious. I'd never had them before but had always heard how iconic of a Southern dish they are. They were really well balanced with the aioli and feta, and the tomatoes themselves were juicy and fresh. I had to go with the shrimp po' boy, which was also really good. The shrimp were pretty big and tasted fresh, complemented well by the really light, airy, buttery bread and fresh vegetables inside. The fries were also a plus! I enjoyed everything I ordered and would definitely come back to try some other things. I will say it was a bit pricey for brunch for two people, with the bill coming out to around $80 with tip. I guess that's just the day and age we live in now, though. I thought the portions were decently sized. Not as huge as your typical diner portions, but still large enough that you could probably expect some leftovers.

The flavor on the quiche was very good, but the top of it was burnt as you can see in my photo. Also, my potatoes were cooked inconsistently. Half of them were really good and then half of them were undercooked and hard. My man liked his carnivore burrito, but it was pretty small. I did not take a picture of that. We also got water out of the water jug at the front and both of our waters had a little bit of debris in them. Not quite sure what that was about. I would definitely go back for the coffee and I would be open to trying the food again.

We gave them our phone number and that I turn gave us a wait list update. They have a cool app. It shows you how many people are in line, how many in each party and how long each group has been waiting. It made me feel more confident that the wait time was fair. They weren't just cherry picking who got seated next. No buying your way to the front of the line. The wait time was standard and according to my husband part of the experience. I tried to get our group's eta in hopes that we could get there 30-45 minutes before the rest of the group so we all didn't have to wait that long, but instead we all arrived at practically the same time. Thankfully there was no complaining. My husband did get everyone drinks at the bar while we were waiting so that helped. At one time the Pozole was only offered on their brunch menu, now it appears you can order it all day. I tried to order it earlier this year and I was denied. Either way I was craving it so I ordered it. It was really good. I loved doing all the cabbage to the soup and eating it that way. I left out the red pepper flakes as I'm not that into spice. The meat was only Ok as there was a lot of fat. I ate around it, but it was kind of gross at the amount of fat that was attached to the meat. I didn't put the tortilla chips into the soup. I tried one as the last bite of meal and ohhh it was spicy. It felt like it was covered in jalapeños. I check them out and it appears that there is some kind of spice attached to them. My husband had the French Connection A petite slice of our Famous French Toast served with whipped maple butter, two poached eggs and Applewood smoked bacon. He said the poached eggs were a bit plain. The French toast was superb. It is the famous secret recipe of custard soaked French bread topped with in-house whipped maple butter. I had a bite and it was so yummy.I could feel the custard. My husband commented that it wasn't too sweet which was good as he's not an overly sweet lover. I would order it another time for brunch. I wouldn't get poached eggs. I'd probably get fried eggs as I'm a fan of fried eggs. The ambiance was great. The interior was just lovely. So creatively decorated. Service was good even though they were busy. Our waitress came to check on us several times. Parking was tough. There wasn't any spaces in the lot so we parked on the street. All of the parking on the street right outside the parking lot was all taken so we parked on a side street that didn't have any restrictions on the weekend. Most streets were a no parking zone unless you have a permit any day of the week. We were here again Oct. 21, 2026 for dinner after a movie at Tower. We were quoted that wait time was 20 minutes and that was accurate. I like their wait app. You can watch yourself move up on the wait list and it also counts how long you've been waiting so you don't have to do them math.
