So thankful the cashier took Zelle when I realized my wallet was left in the car! Great place for jury duty lunch. Quiet, clean and delicious! My salad was just beautiful and filling. My iced mint tea was refreshing.
We came in around noon on a Saturday for a quick breakfast. I have been wanted to try this place and just from walking in I knew it was going to be good. They have made this tiny restaurant into a cozy spot with lots of Moroccan decorations. We had the atlas sunrise and lentil soup with their Moroccan bread. Both had the perfect spice and flavor to it, no notes. My mother who is particularly picky about trying new foods loved it. She even asked me to write a good review for them. The coffee was also very good. Definitely will be coming back here again
Little Morocco café in downtown Sacramento, California. There are not a lot of downtown lunch spots that I have encountered that aligns the universe to give me the exact right vibes. You know... the kind of vibes that you feel welcomed, relaxed due to the cleanliness and simple bright n cheery interior, and in the zone with every sip of your drink and bite of food transporting you to your happy place. By golly, Little Morocco Cafe did that for me. Plus holler, they're halal. The gentlemen that owned the eatery help me navigate the menu. I settled on the day's special tangine royale , a Moroccan beef stew. And on this Spring warm day, I asked for an iced tea. He recommended I order the hot mint tea instead. He advised that it pairs well with my entree and will be refreshing. Ok I was a skeptic, but it wasn't based on his delivery. I'm just a skeptic at heart. But he was right. The hot mint tea was refreshing! Very minty but not artificially minty tasting, genuine flavors. It was served in a small colorful glass tea cup. He poured the first glass with a quick but steady up n down motion. Not a drop splashed. The tea definitely paired well with the stew. The meat was fork tender. Packed with flavor. Sweet n savory. It came with a substantial serving side of rice and side of stewed vegetables in a type of aïoli form, each served on its own plate. Even the rice had flavor. Everything was delicious! The cafe is open Monday-Saturday. M-F 8am to 3pm. Sat 10am-4pm. They serve breakfast. The menu is diverse, lots of choices.
A great place to visit for lunch tucked in near the courthouse and Kaiser DOCO. The food is always delicious and tasty. Couscous salad is light and delicious. Chicken tagine is always good and the meat falls off of the bone. Chicken kabob is also great. All meals are good for sharing with friends or family members. This place is quaint and always clean. They are very attentive and helpful. There's no need to wait for an order to arrive. Almond cake is also delicious paired with Moroccan tea.
Excellent brunch spot. Eggs were cooked to a jammy consistency and the tomato's were stewed well (not too runny). The bread was pillowy with a crunch exterior, great addition to the dish. Highly recommend the lemonades, refreshing flavors! Owner was so nice, will be back!
Food was EXCELLENT, staff was Amazing, and the cook was very ACCOMMODATING. This is a must try.
I enjoyed my steaming cup of sweet mint tea, probably the best mint tea of my life, served on a silver platter. I tried the daily special, the Pastilla a Moroccan pie that was both very sweet, a little fruit, savory and meaty, a combination of flavors that I'm not used to but thoroughly enjoyed.
With initial high hopes, must be forthright that I wasn't too impressed with this spot. While the service was friendly, the location is right next to the County Jail, there was a lot of odd traffic, and even reading the menu (smallest font in the world on the display screens) was difficult. That last piece was such unnecessary inconvenience. In addition to these points, the food was just okay. I had the Baba's Veggie Omelette, which had no cheese at all in it - just sprinkled Parmesan on top. Very, very lacking in flavor as well. Also had the Moroccan Dessir Salad, which is noted as a favorite, but it was mid at best. Added chicken helped the salad just a bit as that alone did taste good, but that costed nearly an extra $5. Further, the salad hardly had dressing, so it didn't quite come together as well as it could've. I wish I had better to say here, but honesty is policy, and this cafe just didn't hit the mark. Unfortunately, I may not return.

I've wanted to try this cafe for a long time. We came on a Saturday for lunch and found a line and tables already occupied. There is not a lot of foot traffic in this part of downtown on a Saturday. So all this business say a lot for the place. We shared a kefta sandwich, a quinoa salad, and mint tea. The interior is airy and bright. A large screen plays lovely videos of Moroccan scenery. There are plenty of tables that seat 2 and 4 persons. The service is genial and attentive. Our food came out before our mint tea. The tea takes a little time to brew and nearly every table ordered it. The sandwich had great flavor. There's a bit of spicey spice to kefta, along with some melted cheese and lettuce. The roll was toasted and chewy. The quinoa salad was unexpectedly toothsome from the roasted chickpeas. It was a really good salad. When our tea arrived, it was poured from high up into colorful glasses, just like in Morocco. It is modestly sweetened. We are definitely coming back to try the tagines and breakfasts! read more

Delicious! Stumbled upon this place as it's right by the courthouse. Busy place for lunch but it definitely packed a punch of flavor! I ordered the chicken kabob plate and it came with rice and a salad. Order at the counter and then find a seat. Staff were super friendly. Waited about 20 mins for food but I imagine I stumbled upon their lunch rush. I took a bit into the chicken and it was so soft and tender it was delicious. The rice was a little too plain for my liking but it was delicious overall. Two tables outside and a few tables to sit inside. Really small place in the corner but I recommend stopping by. read more

Tiny restaurant with 5 star plus food, service and ambiance. When we ordered the food, my husband told the cashier that we have traveled there before. He was so impressed that he made us some complimentary Moroccan mint tea and poured it the traditional way. Yummy tea. read more

I found Little Morocco Café by searching "Moroccan food" in Sacramento on Yelp. I had never heard of it before, which honestly shocked me, because I'm Moroccan, and I've been craving an authentic taste of home for a very long time. I live about two hours away, so before making the drive, I decided to call and confirm what I was seeing on their menu. I noticed they offered multiple types of tagine and msemen, anyone familiar with Moroccan food knows these dishes take hours of dedication and hard work to prepare, so I was genuinely surprised to see them on a restaurant menu. They confirmed everything was available, and I decided to head out. While driving, I ran into traffic. Around 2:15 pm, I checked their page again and realized they closed at 3:00 pm, and my ETA wasn't until around 2:45 pm. I called back and explained that I was coming from far away and had been craving Moroccan food for so long. Without hesitation, they told me it was no problem to still welcome us in, and kindly asked if we could order over the phone so they could start cooking ahead of time. I ordered the chicken tagine, lamb tagine, msemen, bastilla, fries, and Moroccan tea, and they said no problem at all. When we arrived, it took a few minutes to find parking, but once that was sorted out, they served our food within just a couple of minutes. We came in close to closing time, yet they were so kind and welcoming, and that alone already meant a lot. The moment I walked in, I was so happy. The restaurant is spotlessly clean, and the smell when you walk in is incredible. The inside is absolutely beautiful, filled with Moroccan décor that feels warm, comforting, and heartwarming. It honestly felt like stepping into Morocco. They even had a large TV playing scenes from back home, which made the experience even more special. One small detail that really stood out to me was being served water that wasn't ice cold. That almost never happens, and it made the experience even more enjoyable. Then came the food, and it completely exceeded expectations. The tagines tasted authentic and full of deep, rich flavor. The bread was fresh, warm, and perfect. Everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The bastilla deserves a special mention it was so, so good. In terms of fine Moroccan dining, I have never experienced anything like this. While we were eating, we noticed that an older couple had their sleeves rolled up, doing everything, cooking, serving, cleaning, with the help of a younger gentleman. They were all incredibly kind, welcoming, and hardworking. They stayed open for us for an extra 30 minutes or so and never once made us feel rushed. The food, the atmosphere, and the hospitality were all top-notch. This place is truly a hidden gem in Sacramento, a little portal back home to Morocco. I am very grateful for this experience and can't wait to come back with my family and to tell more of my Moroccan friends about it. Highly recommend. We will definitely be back. read more
I was downtown for a meeting and afterward asked where everyone liked to go for lunch. Little Morocco Cafe came up and it sounded so good that I decided to take immediately head over. This spot is at 7th and H and was bigger than I thought it would be. They have a bunch of tables inside and it was nice and cool compared to the heat outside. I was greeted right away and offered ice cold water and was able to place my order at the counter. I ended up ordering the strawberry lemonade ($4.75), Marrakech Chicken Sandwich ($10.95), and the crispy harissa chickpea Caesar salad ($10.95). My order was ready quickly and I took it to go. At home I unpacked everything. The lemonade was refreshing and had a lot of flavor. The sandwich came with fries and I would highly recommend going halfsies with the sandwich and salad. Both were a great portion and I ended up having half a sandwich and some salad. I would order all of it again, but I also would love to explore more of the menu because it was so delicious. read more

Heading to Morocco soon so I wanted to try this place. It's 100% authentic, the owners and staff are all from Morocco. The inside was very clean and the food came out quickly. I loved the meat, it was sooo tender. Wonderful service and the owner gave me some tips for my travel. Highly recommend a stop here. read more

Alhamdulillah for this cute halal and Muslim-owned restaurant in Sacramento. My wife and I had a great meal before jumuah and the owner could not have been nicer. The portions are on the smaller side, particularly with the tagine, but the flavors of the eggs and beef stew were great. We will be back! read more

A cute little cafe at the corner of the intersection. Servers are from Morocco and food is delicious. The portion is not on the super generous side but flavor is so good. Love the chicken tagine and mint tea. Price is reasonable. Almond cake is a little too sweet for me. Would love to come back and try more. read more
My sister and I like to try new cuisines so after an event in midtown/downtown we went here for late lunch. The staff/owner was on his own in front of house but is very efficient. He gave us the menu and told us we can sit anywhere we want and when we're ready to order just go to the ordering area and pay. We got the Moroccan mint tea, Atlas Sunrise, Almond Cake, and Chicken Tagine. The Chicken Tagine is sixth in my chicken series. He served us the mint tea which was the perfect temperature and was sweet. We didn't wait long for our food. The Atlas Sunrise is eggs cooked in tomato sauce and spices served with Moroccan bread. They cook their eggs through and would love it if the yolks were runny, just a preference. The bread was good and complements the dish. They serve breakfast all day which makes sense with their limited menu. The Chicken Tagine was so good. The chicken is fall off the bone (leg and thigh part) and the gravy is delicious with all its spices. The dish is not spicy. My sister mentioned for her the breast part was on the dry side. We finished our meal with the delicious almond cake drizzled with honey. It's so good we brought another one home. All in all a great experience. The place is clean and they make sure the tables are cleaned right away. Would like to come back and try the Dessir salad, couscous, and mahi mahi. Thank you. read more
