I have been wanting to branch out and try a new BBH place, and after scouring the reviews for Saigon 88, I decided to give them a try. The restaurant is located in a quiet strip mall by the United Artists theater. There is plenty of parking. The interior has a lot of booths, some for groups and some for parties of two, so you'll definitely be comfortable while enjoying your hot bowl of soup. The menu is limited, with a focus on Pho Ga and BBH. Obviously I was only here for the BBH, so I went with the BBH 88 one, which comes with all the meats and pork blood. The condiment section has plenty of fixings if you want to add any, including a giant carafe of chili fish sauce. There were only two servers, but they were both friendly and attentive. I was given a carafe of water, which I always appreciate, since I drink a lot of water when eating. My BBH came with a side of fresh herbs as well as pickled onions. I don't often receive pickled onions so this was great. I particularly enjoyed eating them with the pork blood cubes. There were also banana blossoms with the herbs, which I liked, as it seems very few places here serve banana blossoms. It was a bit of a wait for me to get my BBH, and my server thanked me for waiting. I said I didn't mind at all. However, if you are in a hurry, this isn't the place for you. My bowl was huge and steaming hot. I was really happy that I got not just one, but two pork hocks. At my usual BBH place in south sac I only get one, but the portion is smaller. There was a ton of broth. Personally, the ratio of broth to noodles/meat was a little off. The broth wasn't as lemongrass-y as I would have liked, and it also wasn't as flavorful as the place I go to is. It had a good spice level though, and adding extra limes to the broth helped. Next time I'll see if I can ask for some shrimp paste, because it was also lacking some of that funk. The noodles were really nice and bouncy, and the pieces of meat I did receive were tender. The star of the show was of course the pork hocks. Nothing beats their tender fatty goodness. The pork blood was solid and a nice consistency. The cha was thinly cut, but still good. I wasn't able to finish my broth, so I saved a pork hock and some meat along with the rest of the broth to enjoy at a later time. For the price, it was definitely a big bowl of BBH, but it wasn't my favorite. I'd rather go back to my usual spot that serves BBH in a hot stone pot (formerly Tu Quy but now called Pho Plus 101), but Saigon 88 will do if I want a place where I have leftovers to take home.

Good bowl of chicken noodle soup! The fresh noodles were perfectly cooked. The broth was too salty in my opinion. The chicken was juicy and it came with a generous amount of ginger and scallions oil. The Hainanese rice could be served warmer. The wait for the food was a bit long even though the restaurant didn't look that busy.

I am absolutely obsessed with the chicken salad year! It is so good and refreshing to eat! Large portion and enough to share. Food always comes out so good and presentation is great! Plenty of seating!

Classic chicken pho, perfect for the rainy weather we've been having! Service was fast and friendly. The amount of toppings they initially gave us was enough for one person, so we asked for more and they were more than happy to do so. The space is pretty big with plenty of seating for big and small parties. My friend and I both got their chicken pho (which is what they specialize in). I already knew coming in that do not make beef pho! It was so delicious!

I was told this is some of Sac's best BBH and pho. I got the #15 BBH. The broth was good but there were a lot of herbs that I kept choking on. My dad was the same and didn't like how much oil was in the soup. The pork feet was tender and flavor of everything was good but not as special as I was told. The service was good too as the waiters kept checking on us. We went in the day after Thanksgiving and there was already Christmas music player which was cute. I will need to come back again to try the pho.

I had a craving for poached chicken and Saigon 88 didn't disappoint. I ordered the specialty chicken plate and it came with seasoned rice and a bowl of chicken broth soup. Rice was perfectly cooked. Chicken was tender but not mushy. There was extra sauce available at the table but I didn't need it. Would definitely recommend this dish.

The food is pretty good. The restaurant is renovated a little bit but still kept the Pho Le layout. The service is good. From entry the greeters greet us and told us which table to sit. They gave us water and menu quickly after we were seated. Twice during the meal they asked us how we were doing. The restaurant was pretty clean and lots of condiments choices were available. We ordered the hainan chicken rice dish which came with soup and #14 noodles. When we eat that it was past 4 pm after a long day of Pokemon raid and it is our first meal (real food) for the day. The chicken seasoning is quite heavy and chicken is quite dry (like cooked in advanced and not juicy). The chicken soup is a bit on the salty side, and maybe it meant to eat with the rice. The beef noodles taste so much better. It was a bit on the spicy side but tolerable. The beef slices are good. Overall I like that noodles way more than the chicken rice dish, which was surprising. The table behind us of 4 people ordered three #4 and one #16. I guess #4 must be good. Will definitely try. Took 1 star off as there are better chicken elsewhere. Consideredbwe were starved and still didn't think the chicken is best chicken ever there will be room to improve! I will highly recommend this place for the noodle fish though, especially if you like spicy food!

First time trying this place an fell in love! It's also in a nice location as well. I got the hainan chicken plate and bun Bo hue. I also appreciate the amount of scallion oil they used! Service was exceptional, only issue I had was the amount of chicken I received, sufficient amount of rice but the chicken portion were pretty small unfortunately

I've been looking for a good Bun Bo Hue & I can honestly say I've found it! It was so flavorful & filling - the portions are huge! The staff was nice, there were moments where the waitress was visibly losing patience with us, but overall no complaints! There is lots of seating & was able to accommodate our party of 10+. Adding this to our go-to spot when we're in the area!

Came in to eat lunch with my partner for the first time today. No wonder this place has so many good reviews, this spot took over the original spot of Pho Le. The layout is the same with some added renovations. The artwork is so beautiful with Vietnamese culture when you first walk in. Their menu is big on pho ga (chicken) and other chicken dishes, which isn't too common with many of the pho places in town. Its a bummer they took away the beef pho from their menu. Their chicken is free range chickens and you can customize which noodles you want from thin, thick, Vermicelli, or the bean thread. We ordered the pho ga with thick pad thai noodles and a bowl of bun bo hue. Omg, the amount of green onions abd fried onions and loved the amount of broth, so, so amazing!! Their toppings even had banana blossoms too which i found so amazing as not many serves this authentic topping to their bbh. Their hot chili oil is more on the spicy level, so I'd probably add a sparse amount if you just want a bit of heat. Additionally, every table has their own pitcher size of the, oh, so famous sweet Vietnamese fish sauce. Theirs has some ginger in it so its a nice dipping sauce to compliment the chicken dishes. It reminds me of the scallion ginger sauce for Hainese chicken. The service was adequate as they only had one waitress on hand.. We waited for about 12 min before staff came to assist. She came three times to check on us too. :) Overall, you can tell they pay attention to the details from the authentic toppings, broth, and quality. I'm Southeast Asian myself, so i can def see all they do to give everyone a wonderful meal. I so appreciate it, as I had a wonderful meal experience on my date with my partner. Thank you Saigon 88!! We shall be back!! Happy and satisfied customer :))

I love fresh noodle chicken pho with free range chicken and not just chicken breast like most places make it. The pho was hot, filling, and broth tasted good to me. you can taste the ginger and aromatics in the broth. They have a good amount of chicken for the dish and the noodles had a nice chewy & bouncy texture to them. The ginger fish sauce wasn't overly sweet and I love that it came with pickled vinegar onions. The portion is large for the price and inside is very clean and modern. Service was friendly, attentive, and quick. Would rec for authentic chicken pho in Sac!

Bun Bo Hue: 5/5 So far this is the best place for Bun Bo Hue! I love that there's pigs blood, pigs feet, etc. And the portion was pretty big! Chicken Pho: 4.5/5 It's on the heavier side since there's lots of fried shallots in the bowl. So imo, it wasn't great eating this while sick/hungover, but I'm sure I would've loved it otherwise. But the chicken though, I'd rate it 6 out of 5 stars! It was so tender and literally melts in your mouth, even the white meat! The 'fresh noodles' were okay, I've had better ones but it wasn't bad. Specialty chicken rice plate: 3.5/5 I wanted to love this but the rice was a bit mushy and wasn't the best Hainan rice I've had, in terms of flavor too. The chicken was good, I like the ginger and dried shallots. This dish also felt like it was a bit heavier than expected. Overall, I'd go back again, especially for the bun bo hue! I love that they have a huge bottle of Nước mắm/fish sauce at each table, and I wish they had appetizers or served banh cuon to eat it with. Everything was super flavorful, and if you don't mind a heavier meal, then this would be perfect.

This is our second time coming here and so far, the food does NOT disappoint! I got #10 specialty rice dish and the rice is delicious. The chicken in the dish is extremely juicy and tender, and the fried onion bits with the ginger garnish make every bite packed with flavor! Immediately when you walk in, you can just smell the aroma of authentic Vietnamese cuisine. The staff are very friendly and attentive and make sure you are being served well. This is our go-to spot!

All of their dishes are pretty good, the only thing concerning is the portion for the price. That's the disappointing part here.

I originally came in fully committed to ordering the Bún Bò Huế (P4), but the moment I heard about the $3.50 giant rib add-on, all bets were off. I switched to the P1 Combo Pho just so I could have that massive, fall-off-the-bone rib soaking in that rich, aromatic broth and it was absolutely worth it. The broth was deeply savory and comforting, layered with flavor without being overly salty, and that rib took things to another level. Tender, meaty, and perfectly braised, it made each bite feel extra indulgent. My boyfriend went with the bánh mì pork sandwich, and we added fried egg rolls for the table. The bánh mì had that perfect balance of crispy baguette, juicy pork, and fresh pickled veggies, while the egg rolls came out hot, crunchy, and packed with flavor. The Saigon Alley Wings were equally delicious -- crispy, flavorful, and definitely one of the highlights. The Dynamite Scallops tasted amazing as well, but again, the portion was very small, so I'd recommend ordering more than one if sharing. The Fried Shrimp tossed in salt and pepper with jalapeños was nicely balanced and not overly salty. The Fried Calamari with cilantro aioli was cooked perfectly -- tender and not rubbery at all. I was here on Saturday, and the line was literally out the door and the store was full Of people…read moreboth waiting to order, and waiting for their orders. No biggie, I just came back. I found out later, you can also either call your order in, or you can order pick up or delivery through DoorDash. I came back on the following Monday, and the place was still busy, but not as busy. They have a decent number of cash register stations taking orders. They have an extremely large menu. I counted 18 different Banh mi variations, and lots of other things For my starter, I wanted to try the. Pate chaud, which is pate in a puff pastry, but unfortunately, they were out. Instead, I got a mini steamed bao bun, with fried chicken in the middle. For my banh mi, I ordered the egg, sausage, and pork loaf, but instead, I got the grilled pork and egg. I'm not going to take off any stars or anything, because hey, misunderstandings happen, and it was still an amazing sandwich. They gave me a number, and it was a short wait for my sandwich. Between the registers and the people making the sandwiches in back, it's like an assembly line operation. They are quick, and the prices are extremely reasonable. The sandwich was very large, The bread was still warm. I took the sandwich home, but I ate the bao bun on the way home. It was very good. The bun had a good consistency, and the chicken was excellent. Seasoned well, just the right amount of breading, and tender on the inside. When I got the banh mi home, that's when I discovered the mixup. But I enjoyed it just as much. The egg was fluffy, and the pork was excellent. . It was a little bit sweet, like a Char siu. The pork was also very tender. The veggies were fresh. There was generous Portions. I was only going to eat half, but it was so good, I ended up eating the whole thing. I will definitely be back when I'm in South sac. Heck, that sandwich was so good, I would drive down from Rancho, just to get one. Thanks!

Duc Huong has a variety of Vietnamese Banh Mi's to satisfy almost every consumer. It's a 30 min drive for us but is the most consistent Banh mi place for me and my choice for a Banh mi franchise over lee's.
