Came in on a Sunday around 5pm. There were two other tables with customers. We got a table right away. The order taker was friendly. We ordered xiao long bao, chicken cilantro dumplings, spicy garlic green beans and two Thai teas with crystal boba-different than the traditional boba. They were delicious and a nice large size. The green beans came out quickly and served piping hot. They were perfectly cooked with the perfect amount of spice. The soup dumplings were well made but the soup had mostly leaked out. The chicken cilantro dumplings was the highlight along with the green beans. The service was fast!! The restaurant is small but it was not over crowded today. BWE ordered the chicken and vegetables and chicken and cilantro dumplings (gluten free). NOTE: for those who are gluten free, they offer several gluten free and vegan options. My long lost Hidden Dumpling House! I've lived walking distance from HDH for over a year now and had only been once before. I thought it was average. BUT TONIGHT, I ordered a takeout dinner combo (General Tso's chicken with chow mein, fried rice, and an egg roll) and that combo hit the spot!!! The food was fresh, hot, and delicious. I am so glad that I decided to order take out via Door Dash. This establishment makes one of the best hot and sour soups. I love that I was able to customize my protein. I added beef to my soup and it was a great addition. It was also perfectly balanced between the sour and the spice. I also tried the pan fried chive pocket. While it is a little cramped, there are a few tables outside if you don't mind eating al fresco. The servers are polite and very hardworking managing both the line (usually there is a wait) and the tables. - XLB: delicious and made well but I wouldn't say they are the best in town (See Journey to the Dumpling or Tasty Dumpling) - Pineapple Fried Rice: this is one of my go-tos and I think they make a great one here. Good variety of shrimp and chicken and all the ingredients taste fresh. - Rice Noodles with Chicken: A simple dish, but this place does laud itself on have a lot of gluten free options. The first time I came was with my friend and we had the pork shrimp chives dumplings, xiao long bao, and the king pao beef combo plate. Parking can be difficult in this residential area, but the 2 block walk is worth it. We were in the mood for Mongolian beef and shrimp siu mai, a specialty of this establishment. We also added on an order of salt & pepper chicken wings. I usually order the salt & pepper crispy pork with jalapeño's but with chicken is was still delicious! I do like my jalapeños cooked a lil more to bring out the flavor though. Service was friendly, and really busy around 2pm on a Sunday.. filled with local residents and the like. Although the restaurant is small, the seating inside and additional seating outside is efficient and can cater to a lot of people so we were seated and helped right away.
