This was mid really. Flavor wasn't bad, but would I come back for it? No not for the boat noodle but maybe I would try something else.

The place is a small hidden place hidden in the back of a plaza. You probably won't find it unless you are using yelp! When we got in, the place seem like a small place but we were immediately greeted and seated. We ordered a bunch of things to try it out. First off, we ordered the crab ragoon and pork belly as appetizers. It came out super fresh and was delicious. For the noodle dish we ordered phad thai and pa kra ko. Both were delicious and came out hot and fresh. Lastly, I got the thai boat noodle. The broth was rich and it was quite delicious. If you are in the area, then give this place a try!

My second visit here after about 3 months and was pretty disappointed in the service this time around. It was quite busy, we came on a Friday night around 6PM and it took about 30 minutes for our order to be taken and then another hour to get our food. We were starving by the time we got our entrées and they've changed their hours to closing at 8PM (not updated online) so we had to quickly eat as they were closing in 40 minutes by the time we got our food. The food was really good as usual but the service was not as good as last time. We were not checked up on throughout the entire time other than the few times I went up to the counter to ask about our order. They were quick to give us the check and charge our card though and as we were eating, many people came to get their pick up orders but they were not ready so they were waiting quite awhile too. Not sure if I would come back anytime soon but I would avoid weekend nights just in case.

    Deep Fried Dumplings

We visited Bangkok Thai to place a takeout order for lunch. They weren't very busy on a Sunday, but we were also pretty early. The interior had lots of Thai decor, including large statues and intricate wall art. The vibe was casual and they had plenty of indoor seating. I ordered the Fresh Rolls and Deep Fried Dumplings with chicken, as well as a Thai Iced Green Tea. The rest of my coworkers chose noodle dishes - Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. Service was friendly and pretty fast. My Thai Iced Green Tea was tasty but honestly too sweet for me - sweeter than most regular Thai Iced Teas, I think. The Deep Fried Dumplings were tasty and I liked the two sauces drizzled on top. I also liked the Fresh Rolls, but these were quite different than I had expected. Usually, they're cut into smaller pieces, but these came as two huge ones - almost like burritos. They also had cold noodles inside, which I wasn't expecting. The peanut sauce was great though! My coworkers had been asked what spice levels they wanted for their noodle dishes and all chose between a 1 and 2. I didn't try their dishes but apparently they were super spicy - so watch out for that and lean towards mild. Overall though, a good place to grab lunch.

Easily one of the best authentic Thai-Laotian food in South Sac. I always go here for their drunken noodles, Lao papaya salad, larb, boat noodles and anything else. The food is delicious, fast service and attentive staff.

This was how they bagged my food. All the juice leaked.

I heard Bangkok Thai was under new ownership so I wanted to try it out. First of all, I'm disappointed at how they bagged my food. They were all stuffed into one bag with some plates tilted sideways to fit. The juice from the Pad Kra Pow Pork Belly (PKPPB) spilled all over the bag and utensils. Some even spilled in the car. They could have used two bags. The PKPPB was flavorless and hard to chew. The papaya salad was soggy and not that good. The Pad Thai was flavorful. I liked the beef laab. It is authentic Hmong laab.

Raw larb, mild bitter, mild spicy

I ordered raw larb here with a side of sticky rice. Very good! I enjoyed it so much that when I was back in town, I went back and ordered it again because I craved for it. The flavor and freshness of the larb is spot on for me. If I'm ever back in town, I would like to try other things on their menu, but for now my review is for the larb. This is a really tiny restaurant with limited seating. Nice and clean on the inside and very nice workers.

Small place with big flavors. Bangkok Thai is hands down our favorite Thai restaurant in south Sac. The flavors are authentic, bold, and comforting. Every dish truly hits the spot. The service is always warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. We especially love their soups: Kapoon, Kasoy, and Boat Noodle are absolutely packed with flavor and perfect any day of the week. The beef larb is another favorite. It's amazing that you can customize it to your liking. You can get it spicy, raw or cooked, bitter or not. Their classic dishes like Pad Thai and Drunken Noodle are some of the best I've had in Sac and are reliably delicious every time. My husband loves coming here when he's craving a good soup fix, and I never say no to joining him. We always leave satisfied and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend to anyone who loves authentic Thai food!

Everything looked so good! Made a trip with my sisters to try out Bangkok Thai. -Deep fried pork belly (3/5): Crispy & dry. Sauce was good though. -Nam Khao (3.5/5): Substandard. Think there's minced pork in the mix. -Deep fried quails (4/5): Juicy, but not flavorful enough on its own. -Thai Boat Noodle (3/5): Lackluster, too much beef slices in relations to noodle. -Thai papaya salad (3.5/5): Not my usual cup of tea, but mild had a little kick to it. -Lao papaya salad (3.5/5): Something was missing, can't pinpoint it. -Yum Chicken Feet (1/5): The special dish we came for! No flavor other than sourness. Tender? Not at all. -Customer Service (5/5): Quick, friendly, attentive. Located in a plaza with tons of food options, hard pass on Bangkok Thai recommendation. But to each their own!

I heard that there was a recent change in ownership and my friends wanted Thai food so we decided to come here. There were items in their menu that were crossed off so they no longer make them which was a bit of a bummer. We ordered the noodle salad, red curry and the boat noodles. The noodle salad was pretty good, great flavor, but I prefer papaya salad a lot more. The red curry was just okay, I have had better elsewhere. The one that stole the show were the boat noodles. It had fantastic flavor with tons of veggies, meats and noodles. I'll definitely be back for their boat noodles if I am craving for it.

I was looking forward to the boat noodles based off the reviews, however, my fiancé and I thought it was very bland with no flavor. The pad Thai noodles were a bit too saucy for our liking. 3 stars because the service was okay/regular.

Came by here to try it over the weekend. This is a mom and pop shop. So expect to wait a bit for seating. They do their best with service so can appreciate that. You may need to ring the bell to get their attention. Tried a few dishes Boat noodle - it's good. Not the best I've had but it's good. It's piping hot which is great. But it doesn't quite have that sweet aftertaste that most boat noodles do. Larb - good. Spice 4 is pretty spicy. Bitter like I like it. Pad Thai - spice 3. It's pretty good. No complaints. They also don't overcook the noodle so even though I saved some for later. The noodles never got sticky. Crab rangoons - good Shrimp rolls - kinda plain like most places. Could use any sort of seasoning to add flavor. All in all. It's a good place. Parking can be rough at times. But worth a shot if in the area

A group of us came here for lunch. When I sat down, I saw a sign posted on the wall stating there is only one cook. If you're on a time crunch, then you'll have to reconsider eating here. After spotting nam khao on the menu, I knew I had to get it. The portion was quite big. I liked it overall, but wish the rice was a bit crispier. Be careful with the spice levels. The others at the table said their food was quite spicy even though they ordered it to be mild. I'll have come back and try the beef larb and boat noodles next time!

My friend got a seafood boil. Our food came out in less than 10 minutes, which was surprisingly fast. I cut into my steak right away to check the temp, it was extremely rare. Cut into a different part of steak just to make sure, also rare. When I showed our server she agreed it was rare and took it back to the kitchen. She comes back after talking to the kitchen and tells me the cook said its not rare, its just the marinade that makes it look dark. I'm like, "huh?" Cause that made no sense to me. Still they cooked the same steak another 5-7 minutes before bringing it back. Now it was a perfect medium. It was obvious they just threw the same steak back on the grill, the 2 cuts i made were still visible. All was good till our server came back to check on us, she asked how the steak came out, when I said it was perfect, she continues to insist it was medium well when I sent it back based on what the kitchen told her, several times she made excuses and would not once admit or own up to the mistake despite me showing her the cut piece of steak on my plate. I get it, most of the food here is seafood that's boiled in a plastic bag, but if you're gonna sell a 45$ steak on the menu, at least train your staff properly.

The Cajun style seafood boils are consistent, messy in a fun way, and generally satisfying, which is a big part of why this place stays so busy. It's definitely a great spot for groups. The whole setup with the bags of seafood, sauces, and sides makes it interactive and social, and it works well when you've got a table full of people sharing everything. That said, the experience can be a bit uneven. The service is something I've always questioned. It's not always poor, but it's very inconsistent. Some visits feel smooth and attentive, others feel a bit off, especially considering how busy they usually are. Food wise, I've always had a good meal here. Nothing has ever been bad, but it also doesn't really stand out beyond what you'd expect from this style of place. It delivers on the concept without really going beyond it. Overall, it's a reliable option if you're craving a seafood boil or going out with a group, and I understand why it's popular. For me, it lands right in that average category.

The beef tartare was this sliced raw beef with onion, herbs and lime which made the dish rich and savory. The pho was mediocre and same goes for the shaken beef, but both dishes were still tasty enough. During our time there, the server did not check on us or refill our water.
