Panko Crusted Eggplant and Grilled Chicken sandwiches
    Leslie H.

Juno's has been recommended to me by numerous coworkers and been on my list to try forever. I tried coming here twice, on Sunday and Monday only to find out those are the two days they're closed... this past third time was the charm and oh man these sandwiches are amazing -- well worth the hype! By far the most popular sandwich here is the Panko Crusted Eggplant, so while I'm not the biggest fan of eggplant --especially as part of a sandwich -- I knew it was a must try. Packed with roasted peppers, arugula and layered with Manchego cheese in a light balsamic reduction, this is a delightful symphony of textures and flavors that even non-vegetarians will fall for. Just try it, trust me! We also got the Grilled Chicken, which was a more classic combo of tender (despite not being thinly sliced) chicken, crispy bacon and greens. While the eggplant was more texturally complex and unique, for return visits it's more likely that I'd gravitate to this one because of how how clean it tastes overall... but honestly both sandwiches were pretty much tied for my favorite! The key ingredients that make these sandwiches so magical are simply two things: their bread and the addictive basil aioli sauce. Imo, bread is always the foundation of a good sandwich and Juno's has perfected a chewy, crunchy and airy vehicle with simple yet delicious ingredient combinations and just the right amount of sauce. I also appreciated how each sandwich comes with your choice of side: either thinly sliced herb potatoes or balsamic salad. It's crazy that I've been living here for over three years and only just tried this place for the first time?! A super no-frills deli with friendly staff, Juno's officially wins my vote for the best sandwiches in town. PS: closed on Sundays and Mondays and cash-only but if you forget there's an ATM conveniently located at the liquor store across the street

Their sandwiches are some of the best around Sac! Their bread is always fresh and their food is extremely filling. The pastrami sandwich has a hefty amount of pastrami and the pasta sauce was fresh and has an excellent flavor to it. Overall one of the best sandwich spots. Is recommend their grilled chicken sandwich, their pastrami sandwich, and the shrimp pasta. I would "not" recommend their banh mi though... all others have been tried and tested and those reviewer gives a thumbs up.

I think if I could eat one sandwich for the rest of my life, it would be the bacon chicken avocado sandwich from Juno's. The chicken is perfectly grilled, the manchego cheese adds a sharpness that I've never tried in another sandwich, and the aioli ties it all together. I love the potatoes here because they're thin and tasteful, and it super crispy. Amy is simply the best as well. She's welcoming, attentive, and I enjoy seeing her every time I go. Make sure you have cash! There is an atm nearby but it's always good to be prepared. Also the nugget and shortbread cookies are some of my all time favorite treats.

One of the best gourmet take-out sandwiches in Sacramento! I stumbled upon this place and I'm so glad I did. It's a small, cash-only shop that only does take out. I tried the eggplant sandwich and I can say it was one of the best sandwiches I've had. The eggplant is fried to perfection, and the sauce they include is amazing. The bread was hearty and the side salad was great. I can't say enough good things about this place. Highly recommend and would like to try other things here!

It's so funny! I saved Juno's Kitchen this past week because I wanted to remember to visit here one day. I went to an event down the street and was walking to a little spice store and passed this place! So excited to try a sandwich here. I got the turkey pesto. Wow! The bread was delicious! Definitely a gourmet sandwich. Had it with a side of potatoes. Yummy! Friendly service too. So happy I accidentally walked by!

Wow -- one of the best kept secrets in Sacramento! One heads up -- this is a take out primarily so AND CASH ONLY! Now, onto the fun stuff -- Talk about absolutely insane flavors and quality ingredients!! We finally stopped by here and got the eggplant parm sandwich, a chicken special, kale Caesar and brownie. All which were truly amazing flavor bombs. The woman behind the counter was beyond kind, and even tossed in a blondie without us knowing after my wife asked about it (we ordered the brownie). The interaction was pleasant, kind and they even tossed our order name under our new baby which she asked about as well. The food was so good that after we decided we needed to eat through the entire menu and try it all! Cannot wait to be back and have NO CLUE how and why we went so long without checking this place out. One of the absolute best spots in Sacramento!

The BEST Panko Crusted Eggplant Sandwich ever! I cannot rave enough about this sandwich from Juno's. They serve really high quality sandwiches and everything is made in house including the bread. The basil aioli on this sandwich is delicious. They do not skimp and I think there was two long pieces of smashed eggplant with a cheese skirt on it.There was roasted bell peppers too and this is my favorite kind of sandwich. Forget meatless Monday, I would take this sandwich over another any day. I was sent to a happy place with each bite and back to earth. Please do yourself a favor and order this sando, you won't be disappointed. I was lucky that I got there on a slow Friday afternoon. There are no tables or plates for dine in, but local coffee shops in East Sacramento are pretty nice.

Juno's will be a new classic East Sacramento stop for me. Service was immediately friendly and helpful! The menu is small, but effective. I ordered the 'Turkey' sandwich which consisted of pesto. So incredibly delicious and perfect for the spring weather. It is a takeout style kitchen, without seating available. However the service was speedy and you can tell the staff cares about every visitor. Amazing!

Adorable, cozy, dog friendly take out for sandwiches. The bread was delicious and the sliced Italian meats were delicious. Worth another visit for another daily special.

The Italian roots and flavor are everywhere in the walls in decorations and antiques and the service. The deli was super busy and we had to wait a bit even though we ordered online but that is worth the wait. We came like at 3pm so can't imagine this place during lunch. Packed with people and the variety, freshness and quality is impressive. I had an egg sandwich....i know a little weird but it was delicious in a Dutch crunch. Bread was crunchy but soft just perfect. Wife had an Italian sandwich which was so full of meat and peoperocinis and other stuff she could only eat half. My daughter and husband shared a chicken parm sandwich and the Corti special which you pick bread and veggies and they put whatever meat they want. Kids loved their sandwiches and next time I am in Sac area I will definitely get the parm sandwich which was delicious. Very cool place and excellent service and the cost of the sandwiches???? "Forget about it"!!!! Wow so inexpensive would happily pay double and usually do at most other Deli's we have been to with half the flavor or size than this place. What a neighborhood gem, so jealous!

I found out later, you can also either call your order in, or you can order pick up or delivery through DoorDash. I came back on the following Monday, and the place was still busy, but not as busy. They have a decent number of cash register stations taking orders. They have an extremely large menu. I counted 18 different Banh mi variations, and lots of other things For my starter, I wanted to try the. Pate chaud, which is pate in a puff pastry, but unfortunately, they were out. Instead, I got a mini steamed bao bun, with fried chicken in the middle. For my banh mi, I ordered the egg, sausage, and pork loaf, but instead, I got the grilled pork and egg. I'm not going to take off any stars or anything, because hey, misunderstandings happen, and it was still an amazing sandwich. They gave me a number, and it was a short wait for my sandwich. Between the registers and the people making the sandwiches in back, it's like an assembly line operation. They are quick, and the prices are extremely reasonable. The sandwich was very large, The bread was still warm. I took the sandwich home, but I ate the bao bun on the way home. It was very good. The bun had a good consistency, and the chicken was excellent. Seasoned well, just the right amount of breading, and tender on the inside. When I got the banh mi home, that's when I discovered the mixup. But I enjoyed it just as much. The egg was fluffy, and the pork was excellent. . It was a little bit sweet, like a Char siu. The pork was also very tender. The veggies were fresh. There was generous Portions. I was only going to eat half, but it was so good, I ended up eating the whole thing. I will definitely be back when I'm in South sac. Heck, that sandwich was so good, I would drive down from Rancho, just to get one. Thanks!
