This place is a hidden, local gem in Rocklin for all of my pastrami fans! They're run by a small family who are so friendly and kind. Every time I've come in, I've had such a fun conversation with the staff/owner. Let's talk food: The pastrami here is SOLID. Now it's not "cheap", but what pastrami is? It's a thin cut pastrami and they're generous with portions. I'm a big fan of the Reuben but you can't go wrong either way. I appreciate how simple the options are. It's a no frills shop and menu, but they do it well. Highly recommend. Pls come support this local business!

Seating

Always great pastrami plus the owners are super friendly! Fun 50s style diner seating inside.

Classic Pastrami sandwich with bacon, swiss and mustard.

One of the best Pastrami sandwiches I've ever had, and the owners ( a couple ) were super sweet and nice. If you like pastrami, you'll love this place! Ph, and their bread was amazing too!

This place is spectacular! I stopped after a long day of driving. I was greeted by a delightful man who loved his products and his job. Since it was my first visit, he reviewed the options with me. I left with my hands full of goodness and my heart filled with his good energy. After my first bite I knew I needed to leave a review. The pastrami was fresh, the bread was soft and every bite was made to perfection. I will be back!

It's a nice sandwich shop where they specialize in Pastrami Sandwiches! It is located in a small strip mall. The shop is small with a few tables inside. The couple that run it are nice, friendly, funny, and good-natured. The menu is very simple, and that's all. Choice of two primary sandwiches Classic Pastrami and Classic Reuben. But they do have a couple of other sandwiches. Please check their website. Additional food options are french fries, chips, soda, and milkshakes. The bread used for their sandwiches is freshly baked bread like an Italian roll or sliced rye bread. We went with the Classic Pastrami on a toasted Italian roll with mustard, cherry peppers, and provolone cheese. They also sell UTZ chips, which are based out of Hanover, Pennsylvania, and predominantly in the East Coast. The sandwich was nice and hot. There was a good amount of pastrami in the sandwich. The sandwich was good, but the pastrami seemed to lack some flavor and was a bit dry. Don't get me wrong, I love a good Pastrami with the seasonings, black pepper, and the juiciness from the rendered fat. But, they are advertising lean beef pastrami, so what do i know!?! Overall, 3.5 stars. I wish them well! It's always good to have a good local sandwich place, so come and support your local business!

Does The Pastrami Shop make their own pastrami?

I asked them where they source their pastrami, and they told me they make it themselves. They also bake their own french rolls and make their own russian dressing.

I was meeting some friends at the galleria and decided to stop here for lunch since I didn't feel like eating mall food. Parking can get crowded since it shares the lot with olive garden, highland noodles and a few other shops. The restaurant itself was clean. There were barely any customers when I got there so I was able to take my time and look at menu. I ended up getting the hunter pence and making it a meal with chips and drink. My friend got another sandwich (can't remember). We ate a bit of it there before deciding to take the rest to go at the mall since we were meeting friends there. I liked their drink options since I like the agave cream soda. It was a pretty good meal. Customer service was good. They did not rush us at all and answered all our questions. Seems like a cool spot to work at and chill.

I've never seen food move through me with such speed and determination. Let's just say the bowl made a return appearance faster than I expected, and it wasn't pretty. To be fair, there are currently public health warnings about certain produce, including vegetables, berries, and cilantro, so I can't say with certainty what caused it. If any of those ingredients were involved, that could be the culprit. Either way, this restaurant should take a hard look at its ingredients, suppliers, and food safety practices to make sure everything they're serving is fresh and safe. The bowl tasted fine going down, but the aftermath was unbearable. I hope this was an isolated incident, but no customer should be spending the next hour making emergency trips to the bathroom after a meal. I sincerely hope the restaurant investigates and ensures their ingredients are safe, because this experience was one I'd rather never repeat.

Clean storefront with plenty of tables and homey Americana decor. My initial visit I ordered from their "vintage" menu. I got Erik's B.L.A.S.T. with bacon, Arcadian lettuce, avocado, clover sprouts, Secret Goo and tomato on toasted sourdough. They accidentally forgot the clover sprouts on my order. I love sprouts, so I was a bit disappointed when I realized they were missing. However the sandwich was great so it didn't ruin the meal. I loved their special tuna sandwich, called the Ocean Avenue, which was a delicious concoction. Made with tuna salad, cucumbers, onions, tomatoes, clover sprouts, and sweet hot mustard on swirl rye bread. The ingredients were all fresh & tasty. Another winner I just consumed was the Ciao Down, made with the softest Dutch Crunch I've ever eaten. I appreciated having the roof of my mouth intact! The combination of ingredients (salami, turkey, Swiss, tomato, onions, clover sprouts, basil pesto) gave me salty, vinegary, sour, and savory, with just a mild spicy kick from the hot cherry peppers. Whatever you do, don't skip the carrot cake! It is the best carrot cake I've ever had. I actually wondered if they outsourced it, but it turns out it's a proprietary family recipe. Made with carrots, pineapples, cream cheese frosting, and walnuts. It tastes homemade and perfectly balanced.

Disappointing Experience Due to Food Safety Concern…read more I visited this restaurant on Wednesday for lunch. This was actually my second time dining here. My first visit was pleasant, which is why I decided to come back. This time, I ordered what I believe was the tri-tip steak wrap. As I was finishing the first half of my wrap, I noticed a dead fly in my food. Needless to say, I was shocked and immediately lost my appetite. I walked to the front and asked to speak with a manager. The cashier who helped me was very friendly and professional. I explained the situation to her, and she relayed it to the manager. While I do appreciate that they refunded my meal, what disappointed me most was the manager's response. He never came over to speak with me, apologize, or acknowledge the situation directly. From where I was standing, he appeared visibly disturbed when informed, but he simply instructed the cashier to issue a refund and never addressed me as the customer. I understand that mistakes happen and that it was a busy lunch rush. However, finding a fly in a meal is a serious food safety issue, and I believe a manager or owner should take a moment to personally speak with the customer, show concern, and offer an apology. A little empathy would have gone a long way. The refund was appreciated, but the lack of acknowledgment and customer care left a much stronger impression than the refund itself. Unfortunately, after this experience, I'm hesitant to return.

Randy ordered the choice of two: he chose the citrus club sandwich and the Caesar salad. The sandwich was not well constructed. Our friend ordered the same sandwich and hers was the same too. The problem is all the turkey is piled up in the middle instead of spread out making it necessary for him to take the bread off and redistribute the contents. When he did that, he liked it. The salad he found average, nothing special about it. He also ordered a lemon spritzer. It needed to be stirred. The first sip was a shocking sip of club soda. He stirred it up and liked it better after that. I ordered the Asian slaw and loved it. A lot of flavor thanks to the salad toppings of cilantro and green onion although the dressing was a bit too runny and not a lot of flavor to it. We also shared a piece of pumpkin coffee cake and that was yummy. The woman taking our orders was helpful answering our questions and while she said welcome in when we stepped inside, none of the employees seemed happy to be there. Not cheerful like we've experienced in other places. It's a cute spot with a few round patio tables to sit in. We will definitely be back. I would like to try other offerings.
