    Outdoor seating. Beautiful!

I love when a business knows what they are and does it well, but I admit I was misled by the name. While the shop name includes 'Bakery' it's a specialized bagel shop with a walk up counter and no indoor seating. If you're looking for a variety of pastries or a cozy indoor space to sit, this isn't it. If you are expecting a wide variety of bagel sandwiches and fancy $7 coffee, you're going to leave happy! It's a walk-up concept, so dress for the weather- I had to run back to my car for a jacket while waiting. They have email notification system for orders, which is efficient if it works. Lessons Learned: -Check the window yourself: Even if the staff says your drink isn't ready, peek at the pickup area. I received an email saying mine was ready, but the employee didn't see it behind her. By the time I found it myself, my iced coffee was watered down. -No Cash policy: They are credit/debit only. They technically can take cash if you have exact change but don't have a register to give change back. -And there's the sauce situation...If you prefer a moist sandwich, order extra sauce on the app initially. I paid double for a 1oz ramekin at the counter afterward, and having to go back to the table for a card just to pay for a tiny bit of sauce was the 'I can't win today' moment of my morning. Sum it up: The portions were good and looked delicious for those who love bagels, but for someone wishing for the variety of a local bakery, you may come up short. If you like bagels, check this place out with credit card in hand, watch your email to know when your order is up, and keep an eye on that pickup window!

I stopped in around 11:30am on Saturday to pick up a raffle prize for work and decided to stay and have a late breakfast. This was my second time at Forgotten Bakery as I was lucky enough to check them out during a Yelp event earlier in the year. They are located on Stockton Blvd, their building is small, but there are a few tables outside to sit at if you're able to snag one. Their parking lot is also on the small side, but there is also street parking. We ordered the Loxann on an Everything bagel, a Forgotten on a Plain bagel and a Plain bagel with butter. I also wanted to try their Coco Loco Latte which was really good! I am a big fan of Lox and really enjoyed the Loxann - I ate half there and half at home later - it was super filling! My one complaint is that the food does take a while to come out considering it is just bagels, but they have been pretty busy both times I visited and they also handle to-go/online orders as well. The employee with the cool green hair is always friendly and hustling around the chaos - I always enjoy seeing them at the counter. Overall, their bagels are pretty decent and their coffee is good too! I'm sure I will be back again soon! Check them out!

I got my new "FORGOTTEN" tote bag! Used it for shopping at Trader Hoes!

I got my new "FORGOTTEN" tote bag! SITREP I had noticed the last time I was here that there was some dynamic merch to be had besides the munchie-menu! So I had to go back. THE SETUP I'm always looking for great bags to go shopping with, but I prefer to have a tote bag that goes over-my-should: not big into have to rely on carrying a bag via plastic/fabric handles. I had to come back to FORGOTTEN BAKERY because had a beautiful tote bag with handles that would slip over my shoulder easily. I bought it! It was only $20. Made of durable fabric-materials. THE LOWDOWN Now I have a really cool tote back that I can use when I go shopping at Trader Joes (TJs)! Just big enough for a day-trip when I shoot to TJs on the Light-Rail. Just big enough to limit my shopping to the number of items that I can fit into the.

Down on Stockton Blvd is an unassuming little black and white building that if you didn't have the wise and distinct knowledge about one would drive right by...what a travesty that would be. The Forgotten Bagel should be anything but a miss! Walk up to the counter, place your order with their fabulous staff and then within minutes deliciousness in forms of bagels, bagel sandwiches, or empanadas appear. If you are fortunate you will arrive early, without a line or a wait. But either way their bakery of goodness is worth the time you will spend here. Their flavors...Devine. Their bagels...Delightful. Their Empanadas...Devouring! You cannot lose by coming here. You only lose by NOT coming here. My only wish is that they had a sister store in or around Folsom. Until then, I shall make the trek to Folsom to help satisfy my bageling needs!! Thank you Forgotten Bakery for a job superbly done!

Egg & Cheese bagel w/ bacon
    Cierra W.

I wanted to check this place out since Yelp was recommending it and doing an event here. I'm assuming it's because of the time I arrived, but they didn't have much to offer. I got there at noon (because I intermittent fast and don't eat until 12pm/1pm), and there was a line. Pretty much all the seats were taken. They were out of a lot of things, and only had 2 types of bagels available. I ordered the Egg & Cheese bagel sandwich. It's got eggs, American cheese, and some type of aoili. I paid $4 extra for bacon. For the base, I chose the everything bagel. The taste was great, but it would have been prefect with a little bit of salt. They offer other bagels, pastrami sandwiches, and empanadas. You can even build your own bagel and buy the spreads. They have a vegan menu. There's tea, coffee, matcha, hot chocolate, and juice for drinks. They have seating near the shop and a few tables next to the parking lot. All of it is covered. The whole shop is gated and the parking lot is fenced in. Parking is awkward and very limited -- only 8 spots available, and 1 of those is handicapped parking. Finding parking on the street is hard since it's in a residential area. I had to loop around three times and was finally lucky enough to get a spot in the parking lot. The staff were friendly, but very busy and chaotic. It took about 20-25 minutes to receive my order. I would highly recommend to order online. Overall, the food was good, but I wasn't a fan of the wait time or hassle of trying to find parking.

Favorite bagel spot EVER!!! (like EVER) You literally cannot go wrong with any bagel/bagel sandwich here. I lovedddd the Loxann with toasted Everything bagel. I've already tried the BAE for a Yelp Experience, and I can't choose which is my number one favorite. Definitely going to make it a mission to try every single bagel sandwich they offer. Also, the hibiscus tea is SO refreshing! I saw them calling out iced coffees for other customers and they looked soooo good. I'm coming back for a coffee on my next visit. Service here is always top tier, and they make it a mission to get your order out ASAP, no matter how busy it gets. The neighborhood they're tucked in might be off putting, but don't let that be the reason why you won't come try these bagels. By the time you're ordering and sitting down in their patio are, you kind of forget the area you're in, lol. Such cute picnic tables + fresh flowers on every single one.

I've been here a few times, and mainly for the 2g2g bags. Everything is made fresh and in house, so that's a huge plus. This place is located in south sac along Stockton Blvd. Not the best area, but still good to go during the day (which their hours are daytime only). Everytime I come here, the workers are really nice and help me quickly. They get me in and out quick. I have not dined here, but there is no inside seating, and instead, there is a shaded patio like area with about 5-7 tables so you can dine here. You order at the register, which is in the patio courtyard as well. The food tastes great. I've had bagels, empanadas and most recently, The BAE sandwich through a Yelp event. Everything is always good. I sometimes can't finish a 2g2g bag in one sitting so I freeze the extra bagel and eat them later. I also bought an 8oz scallion cream cheese and it was great. Even though the cream cheese was on the fridge, it still spread so well and evenly. It stayed creamy. I'll have to make a trip back to try more bagels and cream cheese. My new favorite place for bagels.

    Guava Cream Cheese Empanada
    Annie Y.

Thanks to a recent Yelp Event, I got to try Forgotten Bakery. I return to try different type of bagel. Everything bagel is usually my go-to but I also love a good jalapeno and cheddar and I remember that they had it from previous visit. The bagel did not disappoint except they forgot my cream cheese on the side! I would have asked them to put the spread on but their toaster was out and I didn't want to wait 20 minutes. I figured I would toast it at home and spread the cream cheese after. Anyway, not a big deal. I'm sure it was chaotic morning for them with the toaster being out. I enjoyed the bagel with my plain cream cheese at home. I also got the Guava Cream Cheese Empanada because everyone is raving about it on Yelp. It is very good - just a bit on the sweeter side for me. Good crust and they did not skim on the cream cheese. The dusted powdered sugar was a nice touch. Come to think of it, I think this is the first time I had a sweet empanada. They are usually with savory ingredients. Check the hours before you go. They are closed on Monday and Tuesday. There is small parking lot with about 6 or 7 spots. If it's full, street parking is available. There is a nice outdoor covered patio. I imagine it will be packed once the weather is warmer.

Cute little spot in the oak park / south Sacramento area where everything is freshly hand-rolled and crafted. They are also vegan friendly. There's a small parking lot with about 5 spots and street parking available. I love all the outdoor seating / waiting area available to enjoy your food or beverages fresh there. I got the Guava Cheese Empanada to try. I was curious if it was anything close to Porto's Guava Cheese pastry (iykyk) and it is not anything near it. Forgotten Bakery's guava cheese is different, in a good way. It was delicious, freshly made to order, and not too sweet. I'd give it an 8/10. I hear they have deals on empanadas on Thursday's (I believe buy 4 get 1 free). Service was good. Would come back and try their other items.

I recently went to Forgotten Bakery because I drive past it all the time on the weekdays during work and always wondered how their food is. I am currently on a strict Mediterranean ketoish diet and I saw that they had a keto menu and that peeled my interest even more! First of all, parking is horrible. Don't even try to park in the neighborhood street because it's filled with residential cars and the street is so narrow you must pull over for others to get by. They have a small parking lot that fits maybe 7 cars? And then a side skinny lot where people park all weird and it can fit another 6? If people park right. I circled around three times until someone left the actually gated parking lot. Inside their partially covered patio was about 5 tables and a couple benches, outside the parking lot was another table with seating. There is no indoor seating as the tiny building itself is packed like a sardine for maybe 6 employees trying to probably bake and assemble sandwiches while making drinks. I ordered the keto sandwich with bacon, they also have a veggie version. The exterior holding the sandwich together are egg Pattie's!! The egg Pattie's were very well made and put together. My sandwich didn't fall apart once! The bacon was thick cut and fried perfectly. Thank goodness it was not flint thin Denny's bacon. I was scared at first. I also ordered the Bae sandwich with an everything bagel and the last chocolate chip cookie for my sister to try. The chocolate chip seemed crispy on the edge and a little chewy on the inside. I waited 25 minutes for my order, which is a little excessive, but understandable with the way they are structured and staffed. I asked the employee if the would be making keto bagels and he said that they have been experimenting with it. I really hope they can make a great keto bagel recipe! I haven't had a good one yet. I will def come back when and if they have keto bagels to try, and also when I am off my strict diet to eat some real bagels!

Loved this bagel! Perfect crust on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. Just the way a bagel should be. We loved both, hard to say which was our favorite. Both had such great flavor, but the angel was definitely the star of the show. Also tried the guava and cream cheese empanada. Wow! So good. I was a little worried about the parking as the lot is small, but I found one easy and there is also street parking, The staff were fantastic! although there were people in line, the wait time was only a few minutes. And we had our bagels so fast, they are all so great at this small location This is also such a cute place to stay to eat, there are a few table in the parking lot and a few tables inside the fenced area,

Came to try their empanadas, I heard they were good. I came on a Sunday morning. The place was very busy. There was a line to order and a bunch of people waiting for their order. Place was packed. I ordered the Guava and Cheese empanada. It was warm and had powder sugar sprinkled on top. The crust was crispy and the filling was warm. It tasted pretty good. I liked it. It was a nice little snack. I've tried their bagels before, they are pretty good also. They ingredients were fresh and the sandwich was neatly made. The seating area is outside only, they have a patio area with a cover. You may have to deal with the climate elements. It's not very big, but it has a few tables where people can enjoy their meal/drink and have a place to sit. Parking is street parking. It may be challenging if the place is busy. Overall, I like the food, I haven't tried their drinks. I would definitely come back.

Happy Valentine's Day! I couldn't have had a better morning than first visiting the forgotten bakery for the first and absolutely NOT last time . I already just can not wait to come back. The place was packed and people kept Pouring in . The wait was a little Long but we didn't mind in the slightest. My Carmel machiatto was refreshing and the Carmel notes very warm . The dad's breakfast bagel was truly chefs kisses , love at first bite !! My partner got the deluxe lox and he loved every last bite . We also got a few empanadas to try while in Rome ;) . We got the ham and cheese . So so tasty. We also got the beef empanada which had a savory and slightly sweet taste too it . Also, so tasty. I can not wait to visit again! Till next time

It's become part of my routine so I figured I'd give them the love they deserve for keeping me caffeinated through my long days of State service. First and foremost, Andrea is one of the best baristas I've had the pleasure of receiving coffee from. She always has time for conversation even when there's a line and always gets my drink right. It does tend to get busy, but the staff are on point so the wait is never too bad even if a line looks long. Speaking of drinks, the honey lavender latte is a must try. The drinks and food items are probably the best deal you'll get in the area. I can typically get a latte and a fresh baked goodie for around $9. Try doing that at any of Star/Dutch/Peets without spending $15. You can also get .75 cents off your drink if you bring your own (clean) cup/thermos. Their baked foods vary daily (see photo for today's empanadas), but definitely recommend the egg and chorizo empanada and the cinnamon roll croissant. These are all made at their sister store (Venus Taproom) and brought in daily. This is a very cozy local spot, so if you like quality, service, and supporting local businesses definitely give Barrio a shot.

With authentic flavors and food items, there's not many like it around town. Bodega serves up food from the Caribbean Islands. One of their most popular dishes is their jerk chicken. They have this both as a chicken wing appetizer and as a plated dinner. I personally really enjoy white meat when it comes to chicken and the dinner plate was leg and thigh so I opted to go with the wing appetizer. My only complaint about it was its size. I thought it could have had more wings as I thoroughly enjoyed each one with the jerk sauce I added to it. The wings were very crisp on the outside and full of flavor. Adding the jerk sauce or their house made hot sauces enhanced the flavor even more. I could really see myself coming just for these wings! I also had the Cubano sandwich. This hot, pressed sandwich has ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard. It's a popular item that also is bursting with flavor. The combination of all the ingredients was mouthwatering. It comes with a side of fries to round out the meal. Service at Bodega was very nice. We found the servers to be very patient with us and the food came out reasonably. I'm lactose intolerant and really sensitive to dairy so I asked about the cheese being in it. He confirmed it was in there, so I asked if they can just take it back- the waiter said no. I then asked if they can just take it off the bill because I couldn't eat it. He said no to that too. My husband doesn't eat meat and my son is lactose intolerant so it was going to be food wasted and money down the drain. I was pretty shocked because I've never been to a restaurant where they can't reasonable accommodate the guest. I then ordered my entree and the chicken was very dry and overcooked. I was not satisfied but I knew they wouldn't let me swap it for something else. Unfortunately I'm not going to rush to come back. The waiter was friendly enough but not accommodating. I get nervous when it comes to food allergies because now I know that some restaurants aren't disclosing food allergens which is actually not allowed. There are folks out here with life threatening allergies, so these places need to be careful. I'm glad I'm not one of those people but it's still disappointing.

Well, maybe not every kind, but there's a lot of variety. Although I haven't been at this Valerio's in quite some time, recently I got a Bibingka cake from Valerio's and it was delicious. The coconut flakes and the banana leaf flavors really came through and although it's definitely an indulgent dessert, a couple of small slices per meal over several meals is ok, at least that's what I tell myself. Certainly it's a good treat, but probably only occasionally as it's pretty heavy and dense, it's not what I'd call a fluffy cake. Another favorite many get here is Senorita bread, I like them, but they are really pure carb so only a little one every once in awhile. Service is generally efficient and polite here, they're busy but kind. It's a pretty basic set up with all the essentials of a bakery and it's not a sit down and enjoy kind of place so it's just pick up and take to go as the shop isn't that big and it's pretty packed with all the delicious sweets. Another item I really like is the Ube (purple yam) bread/rolls, it's a good sized bag, and a great value and so satisfying for a breakfast treat or for an afternoon tea snack. All in all, Valerio's has been here a long time and it's sure to continue to do well as it provides a specialty bakery for the Filipino community in Sacramento area as well as friends who also love Filipino sweets.
