We went out for girls night here and had a good time! I felt that they were pretty handicap accessible, had big portions, with a good wine and beer list. The noise was a bit loud and the decor seemed a little dated. Overall the pros outweigh these, the service was solid, and we had a fun! 1. Parking Parking lot with 2 handicap spots. Also easy walkway from the handicap spots into the restaurant. Easy to pull into from the street if coming from 99. I would suggest not trying to back out to the street when leaving however and instead we went through the parking lot, made a left at the ally and from there make a turn from the stop sign at Main Street. 2. Menu: Every thing we ordered was delicious. They had a large wine and beer menu. The blonde beer was ice cold and light for a summer drink. The house red was pretty mellow and very full bodied. The Sauvignon Blanc wasn't too sweet and had a hint of vanilla. The portion sizes of the meals were huge. None of could finish our plates! The bread is extra at 6 dollars, but worth it mainly due to the garlic/chive butter with it. We also ordered the fried zucchini as an appetizer - it was hot and crispy. The zucchini and breading were not soggy at all, and the breading stuck perfectly (these are common issues I've had at other places with fried zucchini) The ribeye was cooked perfectly and was incredibly tender. My friend pointed out that this was a very large piece a bit on the thinner side- they may have pounded it out to tenderize it is our guess. The farmer special was our favorite. It was a braised short rib and you could order it with pasta however we did it with the polenta. It was so very tender and savory. Came with a lot of polenta and it was very cheesy with Parmesan. The linguine and clams had both shelled and unshelled clams. I felt that there could have been more meat for the clam to pasta ratio. It was full of garlic and the cream sauce was zesty. 3. Atmosphere: It's a decent sized building, with a nice big bar in the front a smaller room to the left and a larger room in the back. There was plenty of seating for if you needed to wait. The walkways were wide and it was easy to move around, so no issues using a walker here and I would guess a wheelchair should be fine. The backroom had big booth seats, and would probably be good for large groups and families. The decor seemed a little dated and there was a jukebox in the smaller room, which although we were seated in the back was very loud and at the beginning of our experience it was hard to hear each other and was distracting. During this time the music kept switching songs every 10 to 30 seconds. I inquired why, and every Tuesday night they do "Music Bingo". So that could be a plus for some people, who want a more laid back atmosphere and enjoy a community game! The people in the front of the restaurant seemed to really enjoy it! However I would say if you are planning a quiet evening out or a first time date, you may want to come any other night but Tuesday. 4. Service: All our food and drinks come out in an appropriate time. Drinks were cold and food was hot! Our server made sure we had everything we needed and the manager even come by to check on us. I do love the brick building and how it's on old Elk Grove. We will be back!
We have lived in Elk Grove for over 8 years now and we always say were going to come and eat here and finally we were able to do so. We sat down in the bar area (kid free for the night). Upon arrival we ordered our drinks and had no idea where to begin so we asked our waitress what she recommended-sautéed mushrooms(if you're a mushroom lover this is what you need to order) as an appetizer and Beef Stroganoff (enough food to feed 2, the pasta was freshly made too ) as our main dish Chris the manager approached us and welcomed us. Immediately my dodger fan husband began a conversation with him and the rest is history. We ended with the bread pudding with vanilla ice cream drizzled with Caramel and OMG it was heaven so good I might order this first next time. Our first visit will definitely not be our last.
I was craving a good hearty meal. This place is always good for that our favorite is always the farmer special. But I tried their prime rib this time and it was pretty good.
In the area for a ProbPickleball Tournament and staying in Elk Grove with family. Decided to go out for a birthday dinner with husband. We ordered full rack of ribs and vegetable side and bread to share. The ribs were fairly good with a mustard sauce and bbq sauce to add. The vegetables were tasty and between ribs and veggies we had more than enough food. The server was efficient and brought our meal out hot. Ambiance had not changed much from years ago. They have a parking area next to restaurant which is convenient in Old town.
We found this place and it looked pretty good. We got there and had to wait about 10 minutes. The place was pretty busy around the bar area. They sat us in the back restaurant where it was much quieter. The waitress was great. Grabbed our drink order right away and then came back and took our food order. I got an old fashioned and I gotta say. They can make some good ones. I ordered the filet mignon and it was absolutely cooked perfect. Their mashed potato's is a huge portion and very tasty as well.
First time dining here, and we already plan on coming back! We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. We ordered the clam chowder, fettuccine Alfredo, chicken Marsala, lamb chops, and prime rib French dip. Everything was delicious and well prepared. We ended our meal with the bread pudding and tiramisu, and the bread pudding was absolutely fantastic! Our server, Elaine, was attentive, friendly, and provided excellent service throughout our meal. The hostess was also very welcoming, and we were seated promptly. We also had the pleasure of meeting Chris, the manager, who was incredibly friendly and shared some interesting background about the restaurant's history. His recommendations were excellent and added a nice personal touch to our experience. One thing we really enjoyed was the variety of dining areas. There's a bar area, a front dining area with a nice window setting, and a back dining area that offers a more intimate atmosphere. We had the pleasure to dine in the back and really enjoyed the ambiance and artwork--it made for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. Overall, great food, excellent service, a welcoming staff, and a beautiful atmosphere. We had a fantastic first visit and are already looking forward to coming back!
I haven't been to Brick House Restaurant in a few years, 4-5 years. For appearance sake it's the same. Brick building, older vintage vibes, nice interior, great parking and I love the talking security cameras and signs posted in the lot. I opted to sit in the bar and watch football, 49er's vs Sea Hawks. There was a group of men and two women there drinking and a collaborating about something, maybe fantasy football, IDK. They were a bit spicy but the bar wait staff handled it; they are on top of it which I appreciate. I was greeted immediately by a hostess offered dining room or bar seating; I chose a pub table in the car. The bar staff were very friendly and welcoming, attentive and represented the restaurant bar professionally. Big plus! I had hot, fresh baked bread served with garlic butter, olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Delish! My main course was Beef Stroganoff, also excellent. Diet Pepsi was my beverage; bar staff kept my glass full and checked on me regularly. It was an excellent meal: hot, fresh and flavorful, huge portion with leftovers for lunch tomorrow. The meat beef was amazing. If you want soup or salad it's extra as was the bread. The meal plus a good tip seemed pricy especially for one person. But the cost of everything has gone up and I haven't been out for fine dining in sometime. I like to treat myself well, and this dinner was delicious and exactly what I needed. Big kudos, again, for customer service from Tahnee (sp?) and Melissa.
Husband brought us here to celebrate my birthday. The have the bar area in front with the dining room area in the back with cozy booths with a nice ambiance. We had the farmer's special with polenta, the prime rib, pappardelle pasta, the fried calamari, and vegetable side. It was our first time here, and everything was amazing! Polenta was super creamy and well balanced with the meat. Husband loved the prime rib and horseradish. We both agreed though our favorite dish was the pasta! Great service too! JJ was our server, and the manager, Chris as well checked in on every table to make sure everyone was having a good experience. When Chris heard it was my birthday, he also had a cheesecake included on the house too. We'll definitely plan to come back again in the near future!
I have been coming to this wonderful restaurant for years. The staff is unbelievable Awesomeness. I have never been disappointed with anything, lord knows I am picky. They all go beyond to do what they can for all as quick as possible. I have been in customer service as a stylist for 45yrs, I know quality when I see and experience it. Thank you Brickhouse in Elk Grove for being the beautiful people you all are. I am very bless to be apart of this family.
We decided to try out Brick House on a whim after going to the Thrift Market on Old Town Plaza. The atmosphere is comfortable and familiar even if you've never been. We didn't have a large appetite so we shared a house salad that was loaded with fresh veggies and a creamy Italian dressing. Then we split the seafood pesto dish as our main entree. It came out piping hot and fresh. The manager even stopped by to greet us and talk for a few minutes! The portions were plentiful and satisfying. We would definitely return again!
Wow. We drove from 35 minutes away to try a new place and we were blown away. The food is impeccable. Our party of 6 has the pesto pasta, the short ribs with polenta, prime rib, and appetizers. We also ordered sides of mashed potatoes (eh) and pesto pasta (AMAZING). The portions were generous and every one of us had to get a to-go box. We were stuffed but equally happy that we ordered dessert anyway. The bread pudding was our favorite but the apple crisp was also stellar. Kind of a steakhouse vibe but also casual dining. We enjoyed the ambiance and service. The manager Chris came around and checked on us in addition to our server. We will be telling friends about this find and we will be back!
Came here tonight for a Friendsmas Gathering for 6. They sat us in the front for the main dining space was reserved for a private party. We actually really loved where we were seated - by the decorated window, Christmas tree and had a spacious table and comfortable chairs. We ordered a the Calamari, Fried Zucchini, Meatballs, House Salad, Seafood Pasta, Loaf of bread with the trimmings. We ordered the lemon drop, some blood orange drink, and beer. Everything was on point :) we really enjoyed the Pesto Seafood Pasta and will highly recommend this dish. The sauce was perfection. Desserts were also yummy. We had the tiramisu and some kind of pie that was just heavenly Service was excellent and our was host - Lane (excuse the spelling) . She was attentive, kind and super sweet. She checked on us often but also allowed us space to do our mini table games and gift exchange. Thank you so much Brickhouse Staff for having us. Will definitely come again!
Another Great Experience. I had planned to order the Beef Stroganoff because many locals have recommended it. I ordered the Ribeye steak only because the folks on the next tale ordered it and it smelled amazing!! Our Ribeye was awesome!

My husband and I decided to come to Brick House for happy hour and I was super pleased with our appetizers and wine. We had the Pancetta Fries with Gorgonzola cheese which were amazingly delicious. The serving was huge! The potatoes had a nice crispness and they were oh so cheesy! Very rich and filling. Since we are cheese people, we also ordered the burrata bowl which was also very good. The burrata cheese melted in your mouth! It included grape tomatoes halved with Kalamata olives and capers so it had a nice brininess but was balanced with some balsamic glaze. Paired with toasted bread it came with, reminded me of a bruschetta dish. This all paired nicely with a glass of Sangiovese wine. The bartenders were all very friendly and I loved the feel of the bar. It was nice to have choices of high bar tables or the bar. Lots of locals in here so you know it's a good place! read more

Had a wonderful dinner with friends here for Friendsmas. Restaurant was beautifully decorated. We were seated right next to the festive Christmas tree. We ordered the fried calamari & zucchini, braised meatballs, house salad, & pesto seafood pasta. All were so delicious but my absolute favorite is the pesto seafood pasta & the garlic butter. The pesto sauce was so creamy & the shrimp, calamari & salmon were perfect and so flavorful. For dessert, we ordered the Apple crisp & tiramisu. Loved both equally. Definitely a must try. Staff were amazing. The blood orange cucumber cooler cocktail was the best drink! I had a great time and will definitely be back soon again. read more

Brought my mom here for her birthday and she loved it. The restaurant is really cute and has a vintage feel to it. They had a lot of good options on the menu, we came with a party of 5 and everyone found something that they enjoyed. We came on a busy evening so the service was a little slow but our waiter was nice. The food came out hot and the presentation was nice. We will definitely be coming back for dinner. read more

Our first time at Brick House and definitely not our last! The manager, Mr. Chris Martin, was so kind and incredibly helpful -- you can tell he truly cares about his guests. The entire staff went above and beyond to stop by and say hello and make us feel welcomed, which really made the experience special. We also really enjoyed the girls' $29 dinner -- the portion was perfect, the price was right, and honestly, it was too good to pass up. Great service, great value, and such a warm, welcoming atmosphere. We'll definitely be back! read more
The food was fresh and delicious. I would have preferred the filet mignon to be more rare, but I'm assuming the kitchen just makes it a certain way, because the bartender didn't ask how I wanted it cooked when I ordered. The calamari was crunchy and on point. Monterey calamari was a special treat. The bartender was attentive, and informed me on the happy hour deals. The building is beautiful. Looks like a historic brick structure, and the wall art and decor was nice. It was clean, but I was not there while it was packed. read more

This place is such a gem. They have been open 20 years and what an amazing staff they have. We went there last night for the first time and we loved every minute of it. The pictures will not be great because I took them 1/2 way through eating. The food: Gnocchi- top notch! Homemade and amazing! Dip sandwhich/ full of meat and on the garlic bread what a great touch! Beef stroganoff what a filling meal. Pesto shrimp was fabulous and it was a huge portion. The tomatoes were great. We had meatballs and fried zucchini. We loved both . Dessert: tiramisu and bread budding both there amazing. The ambiance was nice and quiet with noise in the front. It was fun to find out they do music bingo on Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30pm We ended up playing the last two rounds. Now the people the general manager was amazing. You could tell he loves his job. What an amazing time! We decided to celebrate our Friendsmas at Brickhouse. Our table was located next to the beautiful Christmas tree and the fireplace! What a great holiday treat! The restaurant was beautifully decorated in Christmas cheer! The staff were nothing short of amazing! All were very tentative and went above and beyond! The food of course was delicious! We opted for appetizers and a pasta dish to share! The food, ambiance and staff made our evening very special! Thank you Brickhouse! read more

Had the meatballs, fried zucchini and house salad during happy hour. Delicious and always consistent. The only thing I don't like is that you don't get a bill so you can't see your charges. The server comes to you with a small card reader and you pay that way. I would prefer to see the bill to verify what's on it and charges. read more

Services and food super good. The decor is so haphazard. It would be better if there were no decorations at all. The owners must be really old and think everything is an antique. YUCK. If you want hip clientele get rid of everything except the black and white historical pictures. read more

My husband and I went here for a date during the day. We ordered a few small plates because we wanted to try a few different items on the menu: burrata bowl, sita (filet mignon beef skewers), Caesar salad, and meat ravioli. Everything was delicious! Flavorful, without being overly salty. We can tell that the food was prepared with care, prepared by a true chef. The restaurant itself is pretty and unique looking. It's like dining in a really nice Italian home. The waiter was very polite, quick, and attentive (but not overly so). We will be going here again, the next time we are in town read more

Does the current menu support dining in at 2pm upon opening?

Sorry for the dumb question, is the dinner menu served at 2 pm opening or only beginning at 5 pm?
The full dinner menu starts at 5 pm. The Happy Hour appetizer menu is from 2-5.
Are we able to make reservations online?
Unfortunately, no. You can call us at 916-714-0840 after opening (2pm Tues-Sat) and we can let you know our availability.
What broth is used to make your clam chowder?
With patio dining (or eventual possible limited indoor), are they doing Happy Hour? We miss it so much.
As the weather gets better and/or indoor dining is permitted happy hour will be returning soon. Check in on our website brickhousedining.com or call for updates 916-714-0840. My guess would be April.
Do you still have brunch? Where's the menu?
They don't do brunch anymore....super sad.
Hello, do you have live bands play at your venue?
Not anymore. We received a large request for DJ music so now on Friday and Saturday from 9pm-close "Screaming Mike" our house DJ entertains our late night guests. Zero cover charge and $2 off all drinks at the bar during Happy After Hour.
Hello, what is your happy hours?
Happy Hour is everyday from 3pm-6pm. Then Happy After Hour from 9pm-closing. $2 off all drinks at the bar including discounted appetizers up to 50% off.
Do u have a kids menu?
We have kids options like spaghetti, fettuccine, cheese ravioli, Mac and cheese, chicken fingers and fries etc. but you’ll need to ask your waitress as we don’t provide a physical kids menu. Thank you!
