    Steak Sandwich
    Norm L.

This is one of those restaurants that locals know about for some good food and reasonable prices. It's not fancy so anyone will feel comfortable. We sat in a back area that is enclosed outdoor seating. This is my first time here and I was told to try the steak sandwich which did not disappoint. The steak was very well seasoned and juicy. The fries were crisp and I ate the whole thing. Service was prompt and friendly. Definitely will come back.

Freeport Bar & Grill - Sacramento, CA Freeport Bar & Grill feels like a true local hangout -- the kind of place where neighborhood regulars come to watch football, grab a drink, and unwind with friends. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, perfect for a game day outing. For dinner, we were recommended to try their specialty, the Fish & Chips. The portion was generous, but unfortunately, the fish lacked flavor and seasoning, and the fries tasted like standard frozen ones. We also tried the peppercorn steak, which was cooked well beyond medium rare. The server suggested their "famous" Manhattan chowder, but it barely had any clams and tasted more like a minestrone soup with bits of chicken. Overall, the food and drinks (Peach Bellini and Mojito) were just okay. I wouldn't rush back, as I'm still not sure what their true specialty is.

Freeport Bar & Grill is such a great hidden gem and a must when traveling back from Clarksburg. I went for drinks with friends and sat at the bar while I waited for them. I ordered wine, they have a great selection of local wines from wineries like Bogle and Heringer, which are always solid choices. The bartender Paco is always so friendly and welcoming serving up a smile even when he is slammed, which was the case tonight. Regular after regular walked in with an enthusiastic greeting as soon as they saw Paco. He was taking care of the bar and the whole front of the restaurant, seriously this guy deserves a raise. I ordered the fried chicken salad which comes with your choice of dressings. It was tasty and the chicken portion was nice and generous. Which was great because I was starving! My friends arrived too late to order food. Hopefully the kitchen thinks about staying open after 10 on the weekends even if it's a limited menu. It's hard to find late night food now other than fast food. I'll definitely be back to try more of their food, for the Cheers-like atmosphere and wonderful service.

Great place to grab a quick burger. We order a few different burgers and all were amazing. It's cooked just right, tasty and juicy. Definitely will go back for some burgers. We were greeted right when we walked in. We wanted to sit outside since it was a nice weather; however, it was busy so we decided to sit inside for faster service. The waitress was nice and she knowledgeable. Very quick in service. We arrived around 3pm and It wasn't busy inside the restaurant, but it filled up quick as we were leaving the restaurant. The restaurant is well maintained and clean.

The ginormous steak with mushrooms and garlic, mash as the side. This followed the included site salad.

This spot is my go-to for a giant, reasonably priced steak sandwich that's always cooked to perfection. The sandwich itself comes simply with mushrooms, but you can customize it however you like -- steak sauce, ketchup, mayo, mustard, bbq sauce. It comes with soup or salad and fries or mashed potatoes. I usually select the salad as my side and then load up my sandwich with Thousand Island dressing, lettuce, and tomato to create a full-on feast. Honestly, the portions are so generous I've never managed to finish more than half. There's a bit of gristle around the edges, but considering the sheer size and quality of steak, it's an incredible deal. The place has a casual, laid-back diner vibe, with a bar out front and a steady stream of friendly locals. The menu is varied-- there's something for just about everyone. One of the standouts is the Critter Platter, a shareable favorite that we usually order but skipped this time around. Overall, the prices are great, the portions are massive, and the food hits the spot. I'll definitely keep coming back anytime I'm craving a serious steak sandwich.

Recently visited the Freeport Bat & Grill for 2 work events and left satisfied. The location is neat, down road on Freeport past delta shores. It feels like you're a a country small town. The building has old town charm and as you enter from the bar area you're instantly transport back in time. We sat in the back patio, by a water fountain. The server was patient and as effective as you can be with a party of 15. I ordered a Cheyenne Burger. It was a decent burger. Not bad, but I wouldn't say outstanding. Maybe the burger sat while the rest of the food was made because my fries weren't crispy. I enjoyed my visit. I'd probably try something different next time.

Stopped here for a drink and dinner. Have been wanting to try this place for a long time. The service was excellent, the waiter was so on point, was making drinks, taking orders the works. Drinks were very good and the food was delicious. We ordered the burger and fish / chips. I would recommend those both. We will be back to try other foods

I was craving prime rib and live close to this place. I've only been here once before and know that it is a local favorite. Prime rib is made fresh and not served until 5 PM. You can call ahead to make a reservation, we wanted a booth. I'm so glad we called ahead because the booths get taken up quickly. This place gets busy quick. You can eat in the bar area or if you want a more sit down experience, there's seating in the back. Our server was friendly and did a great job on selling the fish and chips. Pros: Their fish and chips are amazing. The batter is perfect with the right amount of seasoning and crispy. The fries weren't anything special but the fish was my favorite. The prime rib was good, I would've liked a bit more flavor. Mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables were great. Cons: none

Found my new favorite dish at this establishment, beef shortribs! Savory and tender. Everything seemed better than I remembered, at this establishment, even the side salad with crispy croutons. Service is always great and the prices won't break the bank. I'll be back.

Always a five star experience when we come in here. Everyone is extremely friendly and you can't go wrong with anything on the menu! They have an amazing wine selection from surrounding vineyards. Freeport is also one of the few places in town (if not the only) that has French onion soup.

Fire Taproom is located in the Delta Shores shopping center in Elk Grove!…read more My friend and I stopped at Fire Taproom to grab a drink and waste some time before attending an event at The Hot Spot next door a couple of weeks ago. The inside had a huge bar plus tables spread throughout - they also had an entire wall of beer taps that were self-served. You drank how much you wanted and then paid at the end, I think? Sounds like a cool concept. We ordered a Black Cherry Margarita and a Peach Mule - we both really liked what we ordered! The bartender was really nice and gave great recommendations! While we didn't order food, we did peruse the menu and they had a lot of good options like Chicken Wings, Fish and Chips, Fettuccini Alfredo - plus different salads, sandwiches, burgers and even pizza! I think my husband would really enjoy Fire Taproom so we will definitely be back next time we are in Elk Grove! Check them out!

I remember when they 1st opened this place-my buddy and I were going to the movies next store and…read morewe were a little early so we ventured in for a peek and we were greeted by the wonderful owner who showed us his wonderful business-a tap house, with so many self pour beer options on the wall-I knew at that moment they had a lifelong customer.Going to Fire Taproom at Delta Shores shopping center would be a new part of my movie going experience going forward. And it for sure has been. So here is how it works here-when u walk in,you register a debit or credit card at the front desk and then they get you a pour card and then take you to your seat. This pour card allows you to go to the self pour section of the restaurant and grab a glass and pour beer to your hearts content. Each time you pour yourself a drink you can tell on the screen how much your pour is going to cost. Then at the end of your visit you turn in your pour card and they charge you for whatever damage you incurred. Pretty straightforward-It's so easy to rack up a tab,but honestly isn't that part of the fun.Its great for happy hour or killing some time before a movie or dinner. This place does have a pretty good food menu as well-mostly serving bar type food-though over my many visits I have tried most of their menu,I will say be careful when ordering food, make sure you have time, more than a few times the kitchen was super slow and ran right into my movie start time before food arrives, not all the time but enough time where it's something we think about when ordering food. Food has been mostly pretty good with the chicken wings and the tri-tip sliders my personal favorites when ordering food here. Another thing I do like about this place-they have a lot of TVs,so pretty much guarantees a great view from everywhere in the establishment. They also show all the UFC events at this bar-I know do to recent changes a lot of people are watching at home these days but if one does want to get out in the world to watch a UFC broadcast-this is an excellent place to make that happen. Not a beer person? No problem-this place does have a full bar for those of you who would prefer a cocktail Happy Hour is a thing here as well-so if in the area around happy hour-they got you covered with various food and drink discounts. In closing-If it's not obvious-I really love this bar and restaurant-they are super friendly and it's a really chill spot-one of my favorite happy hours to go to before going to a movie next door and even a great spot to just throw back a few beers either solo or with friends-you should stop by if in the area-I'm sure you will like it here too.
