    Turkey BLT and onion rings
    Brian G.

Interesting dive bar with pool tables and sports going on the TVs. I got the Turkey BLT and onion rings and was pleasantly surprised with how this bar food tasted. Onion rings were super crispy and the sandwich had a large stack of sliced turkey meat.

Came here with a friend for their Love Island watch party and it was both our first times here. This is a smallish dive bar off a kind busy road but don't write it off as somewhere you can't have a good night at. The inside bar area is kinda small but you can tell there's regulars that have made this their go to. They have a karaoke touch tunes machine and a pool table. There's tvs on the inside and outside, and the outdoor area is great! It's very spacious and they have a covered portion. There's also a picnic table in the front you could sit at too. We got the one of the drink specials and it was tasty, the fries we ordered came out hot and crispy. The energy was awesome with how many people showed up for the watch party and this would definitely be a cool place for a laid back night out. They have a pretty nice food menu, lots of beer and wine, soju, and you can tell they have fun events centering sports. Also apparently female owned! The only hitch for me was the parking mostly because it was so busy but I was able to park nearby. Definitely will want to come back!

Came here with my aunt because we wanted a quick bite and this bar turned out to have good food here too! It was a nice and chill spot.

I've finally made it to the trap for the first time I know, I know.... I've been meaning to check this place out for several years now but it's over a 30 min drive from where I live. It's wild that the floor is slanted the way it is but it's give the place some charm and different and no you want loose you balance or fall unless you are 2 sheets in the wind. Lol! The trap is under new management and there is a nice outdoor patio with plenty of space especially if you want to enjoy those summer nights There is a wide drink selection of beers and a few selections of wine. There is limited parking but you can park at the school after hours. The service was fantastic and the bartender was so friendly had small talk and made sure everyone is taken care of. My friend and I had a great time and u will definitely come back to meet up with friends. What a great way to enjoy New Year's Eve 2024 really to walk into 2025. Happy new Year 2025 everyone and see you on Yelp! :)

Went on Karaoke night and had a blast. Adam and Sarah (the bartenders) had their birthday as well, so it was a crazy time. Modelos were great, the smash burger, I can't even describe how good it was, the fries had so many it was damn near bottomless. Overall, the environment felt homey and chill, would definitely recommend coming here. Everyone here treats everyone like family.

I finally came here yesterday Sunday afternoon to have some girl time. The Trap exceeded my expectations. The beer was cold and delicious, and the patio was so chill. Everyone was so friendly, it feels like a home away from home.

Our 2nd stop for a new years beverage. The trap is a local watering hole under new ownership. As janky as ever with a new patio with heat lamps everywhere. The floor is still slanted so that hasn't changed. They have an "almost permanent taco truck, lots of pool tables and if you're in luck live music

It's been a while since I reviewed The Trap, so it seems like a good time for an update. This old relic survived the pandemic, the construction of a school next door, an unfriendly school owner, and the transition to new ownership. I think it's safe to say it will be with us for a few more years. The new owner have been a positive influence on the place. They've done some much needed renovations to the bathrooms, the back patio, and installed taps! That's right, the finally have draft beer. There's also some dart boards outside, new picnic tables, a new fence, and a food truck that's usually parked outside. They managed to do all that and preserve the local dive bar feel to the place. It's still a bit run down, unpretentious, and a cool place to stop for a cold one... or two... Who's counting!

Ok, The Trap has won my heart. It's our now go to spot and we know some of the locals by name. I even joined their pool league. Sarah is the best and honestly can't complain about any of the other bartenders either. They have their own food trailer that serves bomb food at a decent price. I'm obsessed with their BLTA, I've even considered getting it from DoorDash but decided to make the short drive and hang out instead. They also have daily specials like $5 mustard dog Wednesdays or fish and chip Fridays. Their "Trappy hour" is also pretty decent too.

They were not able to operate their food truck on this particular day but were nice enough to let us bring our own.

The Trap is a really great neighborhood bar and the oldest bar in Sacramento. It's got a very cute quirkiness, like the fact that it's next door to an elementary school They don't have hard alcohol yet just beer, seltzers, cider and wine. They are very good about having different events pretty much every day of the week and advertise them well. I like going on Sundays for trivia. I'll have to try more of their newer food options but the onion rings were good. Everyone I've met there has been friendly and you get a good sense of community.

    We are dive bar experts.

This is what you hope for in a dive bar. Dive-y in all the great ways. We had smoked wings. One of the best we have had! And check out our post, we do a lot of wings. Clean, funky, responsive and fun. Would come back when in the area. If I lived here this would be my go-to bar, for sure!!!!

The trap is your local dive but super chill. It's a little run down but that's part of the charm. They have 2 pool tables but we've never had a problem snagging one. They do have a 2 game limit if there are people waiting. Each game is a $1. They also have 4 steel tip dart boards that are free to play. Drinks are relatively cheap, Coronas are only $5 which is a few bucks cheaper than most places. Service can be hit or miss. The employees are nice but they often leave the bar and we get left waiting for awhile sometimes for drinks.

Been meaning to come here for the past year or two and finally found myself out in the pocket. Bartender is super chill and welcoming. Found out they have really amazing food. The wings sauce was great and the quesadilla was yummy, loved their verde sauce. Its pretty small inside but somehow my boyfriends pool league and me were all comfortable. Highly reccomend this spot, loved the porter.

With authentic flavors and food items, there's not many like it around town. Bodega serves up food from the Caribbean Islands. One of their most popular dishes is their jerk chicken. They have this both as a chicken wing appetizer and as a plated dinner. I personally really enjoy white meat when it comes to chicken and the dinner plate was leg and thigh so I opted to go with the wing appetizer. My only complaint about it was its size. I thought it could have had more wings as I thoroughly enjoyed each one with the jerk sauce I added to it. The wings were very crisp on the outside and full of flavor. Adding the jerk sauce or their house made hot sauces enhanced the flavor even more. I could really see myself coming just for these wings! I also had the Cubano sandwich. This hot, pressed sandwich has ham, cheese, pickles, and mustard. It's a popular item that also is bursting with flavor. The combination of all the ingredients was mouthwatering. It comes with a side of fries to round out the meal. Service at Bodega was very nice. We found the servers to be very patient with us and the food came out reasonably. I was specifically there for a birthday party where we had cake being served from outside the restaurant. Bodega has a cake cutting charge, but seeing our tiny cake they waived it for us!
