I finally stopped into Zebra Club at 9:30am on a Saturday to catch up with a big group of people. The bar was already hopping, and it looked like there was a previous group hanging out after watching early morning sports on the TVs. I ordered a Guinness and we moved to the back area as our group grew too large to have at the small front tables. They have breakfast and lunch available and had an impressive menu for what I thought was just a bar. We asked our server what she recommended and she said the waffle fries and French toast are great. While we passed on the French Toast (this time- I'm more of a savory breakfast person) we did get waffle fries ($7) and their Zebra Special ($15.50) that comes with two eggs, meat (ham, bacon or sausage), hash browns, and choice of toast. We paid a little extra to get a biscuit with gravy instead of toast. We also ordered jello shots for the group and it was very fun having morning jello shots with breakfast. They have a lot of televisions here and seem to serve as a watch party destination for a lot of sports fans. They also have an outdoor area, which is great for groups, but we also noticed that the small of people smoking wafted into the inner dining area from outside which was a drawback for me. The staff here was so nice and attentive and we had so much fun with our group here. Would highly recommend checking them out. read more

I had such a special experience at this iconic 916 bar. I called a week in advanced and asked if they would host a party of 14 for a 6AM birthday celebration in September, just wanted to show up with a big group for breakfast. They simply said yes but I did not expect for them to set up a giant table with place mats for us in the back! On top of that, the server was pro status and our food came out super quick. Very strange experience. If I could give it zero stars I would. I will never go here again. We sat down and were ignored so we tried to go up to the bar to get menus and order. We got menus and they still ignored us. Everyone else in here was Caucasian, however our group was not all Caucasian. Horrible customer service and they seem to be selective with who they serve. I would not recommend this business. We were so uncomfortable and felt so disrespected and embarrassed because everyone saw what was happening. Great dive bar. Initially, we thought this place was pretty small. There are actually three rooms, one of which is an outdoor covered section. There are a couple TVs for sports/events, but otherwise it's a good place for socializing. Drink prices are very reasonable. read more

Zebra Club is and HAS been, my favorite neighborhood dive since I moved here, in 2014: You walk in and it is small, with no bells or whistles (but has TVs - very important for sports fans). Inside seating/bar seating/patio seating is available, but I always prefer the bar. On a typical night, there is only one person working the bar, so don't expect super fast service... with that said, bartenders here are always awesome! Zebra is the place to come if you are looking for cheap (but good) pub food and drinks... you aren't going to get anything fancy here, but what you do get, is enough! Always a fan of their beef tacos and fries. There's just something about the Ranch here! Zebra Club also makes THE best Jell-O shots: they won't melt your esophagus, and still taste like Jell-O (random, but important)! Street parking can be limited, so allow some extra time to park (if driving). Seating is also self-service. If you are looking for a funky neighborhood spot for eats/drinks that will make your bank account smile, Zebra Club is your spot! read more

First, this bar is great. Come for breakfast / lunch for an amazing gastronomic experience. The bartenders and patrons are solid people. My only complaint, again, is wtf is up with cutting the lemons and limes into the smallest portions you possibly can? Is lime dust your goal? I don't care about paying an extra 20 cents to get a proper lemon/lime wedge. If you need to raise your prices, do that. How do you have such amazing food but don't understand that a gin and tonic needs more than a fairy dusting of lime? Quit this asinine practice and make regular wedges for your drinks. You're surrounded by dive bars that will give me a solid wedge of lime for the same price. If you come here and your drink needs a wedge of citrus, be sure to ask for extra because extra means regular. When the citrus is normal, I'll give 5 stars. read more

As a group of non-white patrons, our experience here was deeply disappointing. We were subjected to harassment by other customers, and the staff did nothing to intervene or address the situation. Great breakfast and lovely staff. Everything I've eaten at Zebra comes out cooked really nicely. The service is always friendly but also gives you space to just enjoy your food. This trip was particularly lovely, my favorite part was when the cook would call the order out to the waitress with a fake Chinese accent. He seemed tickled by it so good for him. Gotta have fun at work. Maybe he would have enjoyed it even more if he had been able to see my wife, who is Hmong, across the table from me not enjoying it as much as he was. As Joe K and I slowly venture into a new world of safely eating out, Joe suggested we try the breakfasts at Zebra Club, which is a down town neighborhood dive bar. According to many of our Yelp friends, this is a great place to eat. We arrived early in the morning to find we were the first customers of the day. A very friendly man tending bar welcomed us in and showed us to a table in the dining area. The menus have a nice selection of meals suitable for any diner type experience. I ordered a vegetarian omelet with hash browns and wheat toast. Joe K ordered 2 eggs over easy, sausage patties and pancakes. We also got a couple of Bloody Mary's to wash it down with. Everything was delicious and cooked to perfection! The Bloody Mary's, while spicy, really hit the spot! Our compliments to the chef and bartender! The only bothersome issues we had, was that mask wearing and social distancing was not really enforced. Many locals came in as we ate, and no one wore their masks or stayed safely apart. Also, they had the TV blaring FOX 40 news in which everyone seemed glued to the screen. It was just a lot of depressing and anger invoking news discussions that was not a happy start to our day. What ever happened to good old fashion music videos? I'm not a sports fan, but I would have been satisfied with a boring game of golf instead! I have been to Zebra Club many times and realized I haven't written a review! Zebra Club is always a great dive bar to go with friends for drinks. The drinks are cheap and the food is good. I've had their Thursday $1 taco special and tried several sandwiches from the menu and they were all tasty! I normally order well drinks and they are pretty cheap. They have plenty of variety if you're wanting to take a nice shot. The bar opens at 6AM and you can have breakfast with your nightcap if you worked a late shift. They have outdoor seating during the COVID 19 pandemic and they have a business to run. I stopped by during the COVID restrictions and it seemed like business as usual. A fun place to be, even at 6 in the morning. I know, crazy right? One time I got up to do a first call on St. Patty's with the bf here. That seems like a million years ago. Now in the age of the Rona, Zebra is still going strong. They have takeout cocktails and food, which you can see very plainly when you drive by these days. I recommend checking Zebra Club out even right now if you're hungry and/or thirsty for a lil sumthin sumthin. It's hot out right? Their BLT, club sammie, the Z Burger, sweet tater fries, reg tater fries, and buffalo wangs are excellent. Breakfast here is insane. You perhaps would not expect such tasty food at such a divey establishment, but this is the truth we have come to know. Omelettes and scrambles for daaaays y'all. They have tables set up so you can order and wait on the side of the building. Do be aware that not all folks are social distancing like they should be right now as they wait, but that is not the fault of Zebra, who I believe is doing everything right. If I see crowds I keep driving/walking, but that's only happened like twice so far. Being that patrons here are not always cool, it's not surprising. I've had some less than stellar run ins but you know, most of the folks who come here are just fine. It is what it is. Zebra is great, and I'm happy to keep supporting them! Prices: Not as cheap as they used to be but still more than worth it imho, on the cheaper side compared to other bars in my neighbourhood. The dive bar is legit! Stopped by for brunch on a busy Sunday morning. It was very busy and very loud. Staff was very helpful our waitress walked us through the menu and we quickly landed on the Chicken Fried Steak and a bloody mary. Food came out quick, it was hot and freshly made. The taste was also good. Asked for the hash browns extra crispy and I got em. The bloody mary was also very delicious and hit the spot. I enjoyed it so much I ordered a 2nd. Absolutely appalled by my experience at this place. What should have been a fun night out with friends quickly turned into a nightmare. The atmosphere was grimy, which I could have tolerated if the staff and patrons weren't so disrespectful. From the moment we walked in, the women in our group were subjected to relentless catcalling and inappropriate comments from both the bartenders and other customers. It felt like being in a time warp to the worst kind of dive bar stereotypes where harassment is the norm and respect is nonexistent. When we tried to address the issue, the staff just shrugged it off, as if it was all part of the "charm" of the place. Spoiler alert: It's not charming, it's disgusting. No one should have to feel unsafe or uncomfortable when they're just trying to enjoy a night out. I will never return, and I strongly advise anyone--especially women--to avoid this place at all costs. I enjoyed my time at zebra club. We went during the NBA finals and it wasn't as packed as other bars. We got our drinks quickly. We had the purple special beam drink, I really enjoyed it. It's not a super cutesy bar for the location, it felt and looked more like neighborhood bar. They have a jukebox so you can play the music you like. There are multiple TV's. I enjoyed my time there.
