The B side is a great locals only spot with an excellent price point on their adult beverages. My friends and I stopped here as an in in-between place to chill during a holiday midtown crawl. They have several large comfy booths, which is where took our seats, and a bar that flanks the entire length of the room. It was chilly outside and having stopped at this cozy little bar while sitting at one of their comfy roomy booths made it hard for us to move on to our next crawl spot. We eventually moved on and I'll definitely return to revisit the B-Side.

After hanging out at a few places in Sacramento we decided to end the night here . We came in for a drink they had music playing in the background and they were playing Halloween movies on their TV's since it's October I thought that was a nice touch . They have this cute disco ball by the music that lights up the place nicely . Everything looked clean and organized. The bartender was really nice and made me a really good White Linen. We had a great time here with friends . I would definitely be coming back ..

I have nothing bad to say about B-Side. The drink I had was good and the service was quick. I just didn't really feel like there was anything about it that stood out to me. Good place if you want a low key night.

    MF Doom...RIP

Great place to come hang out and socialize at. B-Side neighbors the R & 15th area, but because it's not right in the heart of it. It's a more relaxed and chill type of environment. The back outdoor area is perfect for larger group fathers, where you might want to just enjoy the open area and local art. I like the murals of iconic musicians to include that large solo piece of MF Doom. You can also get into a game of corn hole in the far back, if that's your type of thing. Inside is the bar and smaller booth area. And at least on the weekends, (can't speak for the weekdays since I've never been) had a live DJ to provide a mix of music. Overall: Good lounge and social type environment.

    Gin, rosewater...with other stuff too!

Love this place. The bartenders are super nice, drinks are very reasonably priced, music is good, and there's always a movie on. Tonight I asked Aaron to make me a drink and he came up with this amazing drink. We named it Florence. If you like gin and rosewater, this is your drink! The mint in it is a perfect combo with the rosewater. Aaron is always very friendly and clearly a great bartender. Come visit and get a great drink, watch some random movie and chill.

You know how ...first impressions make a big impact? Yes, well our first impression of B-Side was not just disappointing- it was actually enough to make us want to leave... and not return. The service was slow, awkward, and judgmental. B-side was listed as part of the Sacramento Halloween Bar crawl, and if I could stand outside and hold a sign saying not to go - I would. You could tell the owners, the bartends, pretty much all the staff was just not friendly to our group, made us wait over 20 minutes to serve us shooters, not even mixed drinks -shooters. The ambience was ...fine? No halloween decor or friendly lights, the tv playing was ....ok. But the worst of this all- is the shooters are priced at $5 each and we were charged $10 each- but because we felt so intimidated by the service and the staff- we didn't even bother to try to accommodate our drinks. *since we were sitting at the bar, we overheard 2 staff members, maybe the owner? Tell a bartender to ignore the people in costumes and just serve the other customers first* Basically if you are a college student, a Halloween party goer, or young person looking for a funbar- this is NOT THE BAR FOR YOU. Bummer, but good to know now. Keep in mind there are SEVERAL other kind, fabulous, welcoming bars and are also NEW that are much better. Save your money, skip this bar- go to another!

I absolutely love the vibe at B-Side. It's not trying too hard to impress, and yet the staff and setting have great appeal. Besides bar seats, they have a few booths with tables, and an outdoor area as well. It wasn't crowded on a Saturday night, super laid back and just a comfortable atmosphere to enjoy some quality time, good conversation, and good music with my partner. The decor and music are perfect, especially if you like oldies. This past Saturday night, the DJ played awesome 90's rnb hits like Too Close by Next, and You Don't Have to Call by Usher. And with it being Halloween season, the TV's at the bar were playing old horror flicks. All three bartenders that helped us during the night were really awesome, friendly, patient, great drink suggestions, and great cocktails! Last call for drinks was around 1:30am, so this is a great option if you're looking for a cool spot that's open late on the weekend.

Great Low-Key DJ-Music Events! SITREP Since the end of the summer, I've been saying, "Yay! OPEN!" Always wonderful barkeeps plying their crafty trade of great drinks for inexpensive prices! A big reason I don't feel the need to do the 90-mile trek to SF to get the socializing in. THAT, and the $50 round trip in gas, right? [My new post-covid reality to save money because I have to.] THE SETUP Also, always a good time with the 80s Vinyl event w/ DJ Bryan Hawk playing my favorite 80s classic rock and New Wave alternative hits. A evening of Madonna, Prince, Depeche Mode, Sisters of Mercy and Def Leppard ALWAYS leaves me in a good mood! THE LOWDOWN Check the calendars, and make sure to hit this venue on a night when some of your favorite DJs and their awesome music formats are playing.

Security checked our IDs at the door, and once we walked in, the bar area was packed. Luckily, there were reserved booths nobody was using and my girl, and I sat there since the main bar was crowded. It actually worked out perfect for us. It gave us space to sit, relax, and have a good conversation without feeling cramped. We ordered a couple of colorful drinks that were nicely balanced and flavorful, not too overpowering, and easy to enjoy. The music was hip-hop which is right up my alley, so the vibe was definitely on point. What really stood out was the atmosphere. I've never been in a bar quite like this where jellyfish were hanging from the ceiling, and a whole underwater theme. I was told a mermaid appears over the bar at certain times, but sadly, I didn't get to see her this visit. Overall, it was a great spot to end the night after the movie. Good drinks, good music, and a unique sea-themed vibe. If I return, I will hope to see a mermaid

The bar tenders have horrible customer service even when the bar isn't busy. It seems like they rather hang out and chat with regulars and friends than serve paying customers. The security guards we're blatantly discriminating against my friend for no good reason. Also, security apparently accepts bribes at the front door to let people in, so much for safety. The drinks were in my opinion overpriced and didn't taste good. Maybe I'm biased because my whole experience here put a complete sour taste in my mouth. Then, to top it all off my friends and I were being harassed by two patrons who had clearly been overserved the entire time we were there. We had no choice but to leave and we will never be back again! After visiting I wanted to leave a review because I felt other people should steer clear. To my surprise, I read reviews here that mentioned almost the exact experience we had. So, this is not an isolated incident and Dive Bar has not taken our comments into consideration. Disclaimer: I did not have this experience, but it was very disheartening to see all the reviews, tik toks, reels, etc. I found after visiting Dive Bar in which women and men are claiming to have been roofied. This may or may not be true, but it can't be a coincidence this many people have had the same experience. There needs to be an investigation into this bar. I myself will be placing a call to the BBB and I hope that anyone who has had that experience feels empowered to speak to the authorities.

The place is a lot cleaner and brighter than I remember, and there are way more beer selections now. I feel like in the old days there was basically one option. Also, no popcorn all over the floor like I remember from back then -- the whole place feels much more updated and polished now. They also do karaoke now, and apparently it's a pretty big deal. There seemed to be a lot of regulars who clearly have karaoke night circled on their calendars. I didn't sing, but my friend got up and did a Quiet Riot song... which felt appropriate considering we're all straight out of the '90s ourselves. There's also a lot more seating now -- tall tables and stools instead of the little round tables that looked left over from the 1970s. I don't know when I'll be back, but if another occasion comes up where old friends are getting together and this is the chosen spot, I'm definitely in.

From what I've seen, if you leave a bad review - you are banned from there! Reviews are meant to be helpful and changes should be made if it's about the same person. My boyfriend and I have been coming here for months. We would easily spend hundreds of dollars there. One night, where we had been drinking, it looks like he miss wrote his tip. The bartender, Marissa, asked me if her service was poor. He left $2 on a $100. Does he always leave 20%? Most of the time yes. But the bartender asked me if the tip was bad because of her service. First off, ask him and not me. That put me in an incredibly uncomfortable position. Feeling bad for the misunderstanding, I sent her a Venmo of $20. On top of the $6 I left her on my $20 tab. Easily over 20%, so it should have been all taken care of, right? Wrong. Boyfriend went in a few days later and all of a sudden she describes him (to his face) as "the guy who never tips." Let me remind everyone, he had been going there for a few years. Ma'am, you got your 20% tip. You should not be bringing this up again. Once my BF found out about the interaction her and I had had a few days earlier, he wrote a review. He tried to entera few days later and all of a sudden he was not allowed in the bar. Marissa also kindly sent me a Venmo of $40 saying she didn't need "mine or his money." We were not trying to create a false narrative as everything that happened was 100% true. As soon as you complain about your tip and I give you a 20% tip, that should be over and done with and not to be mentioned again. It was a mistake on his end unfortunately, but she was incredibly unprofessional in all aspects of this interaction. Our friend went a few weeks ago to Pine Cove, and when he said the amount he was charged was a lot more than he originally signed for, I asked who the bartender was and lo and behold, it was Marissa. He said his total was $26 and when the payment went through on his bank, he was charged $40! So now we are overwriting people's tips because you need to get money a different way. I understand you need tips to survive when you're in the service industry, but the way she makes it happen is incredibly unprofessional and fraudulent. Ownership. Take the reviews seriously. If you're constantly having poor reviews based on the same things, some aspects need to change. We loved going to Pine Cove but now we aren't allowed to come back. I would get if we were in a fight or throwing up at the bar, but he didn't tip well and he called her out on her unprofessional behavior. Not that I'm doing it, I won't be back either!
