I went to hilltop tavern to play pool and I was pleasantly surprised that not only do they have a good pool table but also a dart board, shuffle board and pingpong table! This bar is so fun and really nicely decorated. I imagine it might get pretty crowded some nights though because it's not super big. I also ordered a margarita and it was one of the best I've had! They made it packed full of lime flavor with a good rim of salt. 5/5 bar!

First time at Hiltop Tavern after out at Virgin Sturgeon yesterday. Last stop for a little Sunday funday. My cousin said you had to drink miller high life here. However, I had a blue moon. The vibe was giving we decorate for every holiday, which I can appreciate! Spooky vibes all around. Seems like a huge 49ers bar. Nice that it had pool tables. In a good location in East Sac.

The security guard tonight was extremely rude, first time here and I came because of a good recommendation but after what I experienced tonight, never again. The security guard with a black hoodie was extremely disrespectful and rude for no reason.

The Hilltop is best experienced when buzzed. I don't know how else to put it. If you stumble in here asking where Gregory at they'll pretend they don't know what you're talking about because nobody still watches that, Susan. More to the point, the clown decorations are unnecessary. I've had some brief good times here, mostly because nobody I'm chilling with ever wants to stay that long before moving on to the next stop. Drinks are so-so as far as cost and quality goes, the tap list has improved significantly in recent years, and pretzels are usually always on hand. Bless them for that. The best (and worst) thing about Hilltop is the entertainment. I don't just mean the shuffleboard and the darts, though both have made for good memories over the years. Yes, I also mean the crowd. Jeez. I don't know what it is about this place. Most of the time it is amusing as all hell what people get up to in here, but other times it's just made us/me want to leave. It kind of reminds me of Pistol Pete's in my hometown, only not as charming. This is a nice neighborhood and I know a lot of people that live here, but as far as the atmosphere on any given night goes, So Cal's and Chargin's are better choices in the area. Creepy Nuisance Double Threat Factor is high here. I wouldn't come here to have a drink by myself once the sun has set. I'll vouch for the bartenders, as I've never had an issue with waiting too long for a drink. They seem like good folks, too. There are both pluses and minuses about Hilltop, and I'll be down for a visit if friends want to stop in. It's not my first choice or even my tenth if I'm choosing where to go in East Sacramento. Props to the marijuana themed art in the bathroom. Parking isn't metered, and on side streets mostly. Lyfts have a place to pull up but you'll have to fend off the zombies who can't figure out which ride is theirs. Outside is always full of debauchery and idiocy after 9 pm. I would walk a block away, in any direction, before ordering...just a tip.

Had to be about 50 people (maybe more!) all in their main room and bar area. Yet service never wavered. My smash burger came out within 10 minutes. Cooked ready to order this burger was amazing. Great sauce. The meat itself was really flavorful. My onion rings were crunchy and not greasy. Loved them. Alot of people around me went with the wings and those looked and smelled really good. Spirits were high as the #1 pick came in. Of course the Raiders chose Fernando Mendoza, our quarterback of the future! Lots of Raider fans in attendance made the place pop with excitement. Clubhouse 56 feels like a neighborhood sports bar for East Sac but they also welcome everyone. The bartender, Natasha, was super friendly and patient with everyone. Parking here wasn't easy but I was still able to find a spot on the street in the neighborhood. Good to know about this place as I'll be sure to drop in sometime in the near future for a game.

The inside had a huge bar plus tables spread throughout - they also had an entire wall of beer taps that were self-served. You drank how much you wanted and then paid at the end, I think? Sounds like a cool concept. We ordered a Black Cherry Margarita and a Peach Mule - we both really liked what we ordered! The bartender was really nice and gave great recommendations! While we didn't order food, we did peruse the menu and they had a lot of good options like Chicken Wings, Fish and Chips, Fettuccini Alfredo - plus different salads, sandwiches, burgers and even pizza! I think my husband would really enjoy Fire Taproom so we will definitely be back next time we are in Elk Grove! Check them out!

And it for sure has been. So here is how it works here-when u walk in,you register a debit or credit card at the front desk and then they get you a pour card and then take you to your seat. This pour card allows you to go to the self pour section of the restaurant and grab a glass and pour beer to your hearts content. Each time you pour yourself a drink you can tell on the screen how much your pour is going to cost. Then at the end of your visit you turn in your pour card and they charge you for whatever damage you incurred. Pretty straightforward-It's so easy to rack up a tab,but honestly isn't that part of the fun.Its great for happy hour or killing some time before a movie or dinner. This place does have a pretty good food menu as well-mostly serving bar type food-though over my many visits I have tried most of their menu,I will say be careful when ordering food, make sure you have time, more than a few times the kitchen was super slow and ran right into my movie start time before food arrives, not all the time but enough time where it's something we think about when ordering food. Food has been mostly pretty good with the chicken wings and the tri-tip sliders my personal favorites when ordering food here. Another thing I do like about this place-they have a lot of TVs,so pretty much guarantees a great view from everywhere in the establishment. They also show all the UFC events at this bar-I know do to recent changes a lot of people are watching at home these days but if one does want to get out in the world to watch a UFC broadcast-this is an excellent place to make that happen. Not a beer person? No problem-this place does have a full bar for those of you who would prefer a cocktail Happy Hour is a thing here as well-so if in the area around happy hour-they got you covered with various food and drink discounts. In closing-If it's not obvious-I really love this bar and restaurant-they are super friendly and it's a really chill spot-one of my favorite happy hours to go to before going to a movie next door and even a great spot to just throw back a few beers either solo or with friends-you should stop by if in the area-I'm sure you will like it here too.

It's that mix of a lively sports bar with really good Italian food, all inside a historic space filled with sports memorabilia. Walking in feels like stepping back in time with all the vintage photos everywhere. Knowing Joe Marty, a former professional baseball player, originally opened his bar here back in 1938 and seeing how they've renovated it without losing that character makes it feel like a really special piece of the city. One of my favorite moments was when my husband ordered a Manhattan and the bartender came over and poured it tableside. It turned into this whole little production and the table next to us immediately ordered one too, which was kind of fun to watch. The food held up just as well. My teen had the spaghetti with marinara and meatballs on the side and finished the entire plate, which says everything. I told our waiter Sean to surprise me and he brought out the lobster ravioli and I was not mad about that at all. It was so good. My husband ordered the carbonara with shrimp and that was also a hit. The bread came out warm and fresh, but just a heads up the dipping sauce was pretty spicy. Our palates was definitely feeling it, so we ended up switching to balsamic and olive oil instead. Even the restrooms had things to look at, including old Land Park newspapers, which just adds to how much character this place has. Helpful tip: If you're not sure what to order, let your server guide you. Ours nailed it. I had actually been here years ago before the renovations, so coming back and seeing it now was really special. It still has that history, just updated in the best way.

I've never been in a bar quite like this where jellyfish were hanging from the ceiling, and a whole underwater theme. The security guards we're blatantly discriminating against my friend for no good reason. Also, security apparently accepts bribes at the front door to let people in, so much for safety. The drinks were in my opinion overpriced and didn't taste good. Maybe I'm biased because my whole experience here put a complete sour taste in my mouth. Then, to top it all off my friends and I were being harassed by two patrons who had clearly been overserved the entire time we were there. We had no choice but to leave and we will never be back again! After visiting I wanted to leave a review because I felt other people should steer clear. To my surprise, I read reviews here that mentioned almost the exact experience we had. So, this is not an isolated incident and Dive Bar has not taken our comments into consideration. Disclaimer: I did not have this experience, but it was very disheartening to see all the reviews, tik toks, reels, etc. I found after visiting Dive Bar in which women and men are claiming to have been roofied. This may or may not be true, but it can't be a coincidence this many people have had the same experience. There needs to be an investigation into this bar. I myself will be placing a call to the BBB and I hope that anyone who has had that experience feels empowered to speak to the authorities.
