Let me preface this by saying I love a dive bar. Not in an ironic hipster way... in a "I don't care about being seen, I don't want to surrounded by stiletto skanks or popped-collar frat boys or the jersey club crowd- I just want a good, stiff drink in a low-key environment" way. But I draw the line at the Office, you do NOT want to dive into this dive bar. A short while ago, we lived in the apartment complex next door to the Office. I remember when it was a previous incarnation (Stoly's, I think? Picture of a Husky dog on the sign?) and we tried it once when we first moved there. It was a dive back then... not horrible, just not our flavor so we didn't go back. When it became the Office, it. got. BAD. We had a 2nd floor apartment and could clearly see the bar from our balconey... yeah... BAD. Scuzzy looking crowd, fights breaking out, cars and motorcycles screeching in & out at all hours, police helicopter circling the bar/parking lot almost every weekend night.... BAD. Again, I love dive bars. But I will not get shanked in the quest for a cheap drink. read more

ITS A DIVE BAR PEOPLE, ITS SUPPOSED TO BE DIVEY! As far as stiff drinks go, this place is tops. I ordered a few girly drinks, they weren't as strong but my husbands long island was PURE LIQUOR. Granted, this place has a bit of a seedy crowd and its not exactly known for its cozy décor..did I mention its a DIVE BAR?? Von (bartender) was a stand up dude, he even had a few drinks with us! He made good conversation and better cocktails. There was an "interesting" group of people there (that made it kind of off putting) but no one gave us any trouble, as a matter of fact, the older guy with 1 tooth on the whole top row of his mouth was pretty nice! After we had a few drinks (I was more than ok to drive) we headed over to another bar for St Patty's Day. This is a great place to stop if you are in the area and you have a group that has a budget! I was there 10 minutes and I can honestly say- I'm a fan! i'm a diver so there you go, but more importantly, the people were cool, especially to a bunch of newbies that came and basically crashed their establishment! Awesome time though and guess who was there...ROD STEWART! I'm not lying, in the flesh, with his "electricution"(is that a word) hairstyle and ALL! This is the kind of place that, before you come here, you must identify your priorities for the night. If you dont care about your appearance, your safety, the appearance of others, strange smells, or clean environment, then this is the place for you. Positives: the moderate drinker could come here and get wasted for around $10, there is a serviceable jukebox, and the bartenders are all nice and quick to get your drinks. 3$ pbr 24oz tall cans, what a deal. Unfortunately that would be the only thing making me come back. Place was kinda empty expect for a few loud baseball fans. Bathroom seem neglected. Maybe it was just me but I felt that if somebody got murdered here it might take the cops a couple of days to find the body because this bar is located in small back area of a small plaza area. I love how everyone is prefacing their reviews with "I LOVE ME A GOOD DIVE BAR, BUT..." Blah, blah, blah, it's a dive bar, etc, etc. My issue with The Office isn't that it is a dive below the standard set by others, it's that when I'm drinking there I feel like I'm sitting in someone's garage as opposed to an actual bar. There is a pool table, three awkwardly positioned tables with some stools, and then the bar. I think that maybe 20 people could actually sit in the bar itself, otherwise it's standing room only and that's no good. Most bars have some sort of personality, dive or no -- there's a reason it is different than other bars, and unfortunately The Office is as bare bones of a bar as you can get, the only reason to actually frequent it is if you live within walking distance and there are no other places to get a pint. The beer selection is meager, and otherwise the drinks are fairly standard. It is cheap, which is a definite bonus, and lo and behold a bar that actually services peanuts. The guys behind the bar were nice and quick to re-fill glasses and were just fine and dandy overall. The Office is serviceable, but unless every other bar within a 5-mile radius suddenly bursts into flames I can't really see myself visiting it again. read more

Love this place!! Love Trav the owner always very welcoming and attentive as well as all the other bartenders. The vibe here is really great. I'm only 21 but I can hang out with the older people here. I'm a semi-regular here but if you come in on a weekend everyone is welcoming no matter what. Crowd is very diverse and bar is stocked always. Their drinks are good and cheap!!! Cheap is always good when you're on a budget but want to have a good time. Great divey bar to hang out and have drinks at. This used to be my go to Bar in the Sacramento area when I lived here like 5 years ago. Since then I don't make it up here too often. But every so often me and the old crew make it a point to come here on Friday nights when Travis (also the owner) is bartending. Travis is my buddy. A real good, down to earth, genuine guy trying to run a successful business. I can totally respect that and his establishment. I wish I was still in the area to hang out often. The drinks are great and cheap at that. There are even little snacks for sale behind the bar. He's got a good set up of TV's in the place. Great for football season. They even do cooking contest and pot lucks on occasion. the juke box is great, and if that doesn't tickle your fancy they have a pool table and other games to play. read more

I don't understand why this dive bar has only one star. I love dive bars especially this one. All the bartenders are really nice and attentive, the prices are dirt cheap, and the company is quite entertaining. Don't ever judge a book by it's cover. I go in at least every Monday sometimes Sunday nights to see my favorite bartender Von and occasionally I will stay later and see Travis to. This is nice little hole in the wall if you don't want anyone to find you (l.o.l) or just want to have a drink in peace. There is a pool table, clean bathrooms, t.v.'s, jukebox, and Wii. I no longer need the crowded bar scene where you are shoulder to shoulder and waiting to long for drinks with very little alcohol in them. So when I visit I come here. Lingerie Night aka Sexual Predator night. Somehow, some way, I found myself in this bar that used to be Stoly's when I was much younger. On a drizzly, gray, Tuesday night after a long night of working, I was invited to grace the presence of my guy and his two buddies at something called "The Office." "It's lingerie night." he warned as I drove over. "It's not the type of place you'd normally like." he warned again. "There's a lot of charecters in here." was the final warning as I approached the bar in a strip mall where Kaveri is located. I walked into a dingy bar packed to the brim with males ranging from late teens to late 40's. (I wasn't carded as I entered, and non of the bartenders carded either.) I was eye-raped as I made my way over to the safety of male companionship (Being here as a single girl or with a group of girls is strongly discouraged by me.) Drinks included cans of PBR, drinking out of mini pitchers (when ordering a pitcher you are not given glasses), bottles of lukewarm Heineken and Corona (they ran out of Heineken) and well drinks it appeared. At approximately 11:30pm, loud Britney Spears and Lady Gaga songs blasted into my ears and two heavily made-up girls dressed in skimpy bras and string thongs stood up on the bar and walked around, gyrating and shaking their groove thangs to the beat. The response was dollar bills being exchanged into their thongs via hands, and mouths. At one point, one girl was hip-pumping her ill-clad crotch into a gentleman's face. Essentially, Tuesday nights here equate strip-club night/ sexual predator night as the men leered at their bits trying to make out what was under their lingerie with a sick rapist grin on their face. The bartenders are young women that paid absolutely no attention to you, and once you got their attention, the response was about as enthusiastic as my cat getting his tail stepped on. The pitcher of beer is slammed down in front of you and they stalk off to flirt with the unsavory crowd of men without giving you glasses to drink out of. Trying to use the ladies room or getting a lighter out of my car included creepy groups of men gesturing me to come over and/or lewd comments muttered under their breaths. I'm not quite sure how any of this is legal (minors drinking, dancing atop bars, almost naked women taking tax-free dollars in exchange for a cheap feel) in Sacramento, but I assure anyone who is even excited about the prospect of this place on Lingerie Night that this is as far from Coyote Ugly as it can be. It's just kind of sad. Come here if you want to be treated like a flea-ridden stray cat, if you like bathrooms that don't lock and smell of excrement, if you want to pick up some sort of disease, and if you want to get Rohypnol slipped into your drink. Next time I'll just let the boys have their night out. Note: This review may have been vastly different if I was a 19 year old male. read more

Their tap beer lines are contaminated. Draft beer here is undrinkable. Stick to bottled beer or spirits, or just go elsewhere.

A better bar with the new owner Travis, who is one of the long time Bartenders there. He got rid of the events that used to draw in the wrong kind of people. Give the place another try. read more
