This is a great old school bar which we absolutely plan to visit again. Popped in for a couple of (tasty) Bloody Marys and we were not disappointed. Had we known that posole and taquitos were going to show up we wouldn't have stuffed ourselves at The Stagecoach first! Great service and can't beat the drink prices.

Dark, Dingy, good stiff cocktails, touch tunes, cash only just like I like it. Nice place to sit in the corner and be out the way. Had a few drink and played a few songs and went back to my day.

The Secret Entrance thing is kind of cool. Blink and you'll miss it. It's not on the street, but in the outdoor business suite next to the Kung Fu studio. The first thing I noticed besides the erratic drunkard reminding me not to meth, not even once, was the awesome snack machine in the corner. Instant Cure for the Drunchies! The next thing I noticed was the bartendress. Cool as a cucumber and not taking anyone's shiz. Matronly but youthful, offering a cold glass straight away. Loved her! I would definitely be back for her. Vintage Bud and Coors posters and concept art on the walls are a nice touch. I've never seen some of them before. Beer Wolf is here! Kind of like a mini museum of beer in here. Clean, fun, affordable, pretty much the perfect dive. Turned off by some of the company and the location, but literally everything else is aces.

Full bar with tv and local comrades. Good pours and a jukebox. I love it.

Spitzer's has a storied past. Belly up to the bar and swallow some Sac history. Excellent bartenders and good company give the Walnut room a special place in my heart and to the stool I always return. Cheers and longevity to all who bring their spice of life.

Security checked our IDs at the door, and once we walked in, the bar area was packed. Luckily, there were reserved booths nobody was using and my girl, and I sat there since the main bar was crowded. It actually worked out perfect for us. It gave us space to sit, relax, and have a good conversation without feeling cramped. We ordered a couple of colorful drinks that were nicely balanced and flavorful, not too overpowering, and easy to enjoy. The music was hip-hop which is right up my alley, so the vibe was definitely on point. What really stood out was the atmosphere. I've never been in a bar quite like this where jellyfish were hanging from the ceiling, and a whole underwater theme. I was told a mermaid appears over the bar at certain times, but sadly, I didn't get to see her this visit. Overall, it was a great spot to end the night after the movie. Good drinks, good music, and a unique sea-themed vibe. If I return, I will hope to see a mermaid

The bar tenders have horrible customer service even when the bar isn't busy. It seems like they rather hang out and chat with regulars and friends than serve paying customers. The security guards we're blatantly discriminating against my friend for no good reason. Also, security apparently accepts bribes at the front door to let people in, so much for safety. The drinks were in my opinion overpriced and didn't taste good. Maybe I'm biased because my whole experience here put a complete sour taste in my mouth. Then, to top it all off my friends and I were being harassed by two patrons who had clearly been overserved the entire time we were there. We had no choice but to leave and we will never be back again! After visiting I wanted to leave a review because I felt other people should steer clear. To my surprise, I read reviews here that mentioned almost the exact experience we had. So, this is not an isolated incident and Dive Bar has not taken our comments into consideration. Disclaimer: I did not have this experience, but it was very disheartening to see all the reviews, tik toks, reels, etc. I found after visiting Dive Bar in which women and men are claiming to have been roofied. This may or may not be true, but it can't be a coincidence this many people have had the same experience. There needs to be an investigation into this bar. I myself will be placing a call to the BBB and I hope that anyone who has had that experience feels empowered to speak to the authorities.

This bar is truly a definition of a dive bar-dark lighting inside, they tend to play throwback music 100% of the time which is awesome-the bartenders here are always super friendly and always seem young-not always the most experienced bartenders you will run into but they always do their job with lots of enthusiasm and friendly demeanors-I think that's important. The drinks themselves are pretty inexpensive per todays Sacramento downtown standards,I think my old fashioned ran for either $10 or $11 which is pretty good and they are always solid-they make very solid get the job done keep the vibe going level drinks and at that price-that's a winning combination. My favorite part of this bar though for me is easy-it's the outside back patio. It features a few long tables and it's mostly frequented by someone either looking to smoke a cigarette or vape,I personally will go back there and light up a cigar and just enjoy the craziness that occurs back there.By craziness I just mean a lot of people socializing-laughing telling stories and getting along,u literally can strike up conversations with people you never met before just based on the fact that you know anybody who finds themselves in the back outside patio at B-Side knows what's up-nobody lands there on accident-it's a super chill spot with a never ending cast of unknowns who might sit next to you and just be prepared as your probably going to have the most random conversation you have ever had in your life. B-Side isn't a fancy bar or a place to go before a nice dinner-this place isn't for everyone, especially at my age,but if u are ever lucky enough to walk thru those doors be prepared to be transported to a time when all you ever wanted was a place you could kick back-have a cheap drink, maybe enjoy a smoke and just chat with people who don't have their noses buried in their ohones-a true throwback.

The bar was playing a movie on the TV. I would recommend for an intimate date night but not for a night out dancing with the girls. There is a small area for outdoor seating out back, but it is also very limited.

In such seasons, one must seek humble refuge without forfeiting the joys of chilled drink and human discourse. And so it was, with coin in short supply and thirst in full command, that I crossed the border into Hollywood Park, that slightly wilder realm beyond our well-manicured hedges. There I discovered The Pocket Club--a bar untouched by time and unbothered by pretense. The decor whispered of 1977--shuffleboard, portable fans, and the faint musk of bygone regrets. Behind the bar stood Janet, barkeep of grit and grace, whose no-nonsense charm and swift service are worth two stars all on their own. She does not suffer fools, nor does she tolerate tab openers who can't finish their drink. When she asked what I wanted, I replied, with the survival instincts of a duke in exile, "Beer." And dear reader, it arrived colder than diplomacy during the French Revolution. I suspect it was imported straight from the glacial plains of Antarctica. The price? An act of mercy. The beer nuts? Divine. The conversation? A robust local debate on pet insurance, which, though not quite the Magna Carta, held its own. For a fleeting moment, I feared catastrophe--Cash Only. But fortune favors the prepared. My hidden emergency $20, tucked in a rarely used chamber of my wallet, saved the day. I was invited to billiards but declined, having found full satisfaction in cold brew, warm banter, and the quiet joy of spending less than ten dollars and still feeling like a king. I even left Janet a modest tithe of gratitude--coin for a queen of her realm

At first it'll be a short walk way past the shuffle board then to the opening of the bar where there's a pool table in the middle. We love to play pool and wanted to try other bars within our area. Do not expect to see young crowds here. It's more so catered to an older and local regulars. They only carry bottle/can beers so nothing on tap. Don't expect to see high end liquors either. I had one shot of Jameson here with a pineapple back and at the end I had an unpleasant after taste in my mouth. So I will probably will not do another shot again. On the positive side, def a welcoming party. The bartender and locals at the bar were friendly and strike up conversations with us and we even played against a couple men at pool. They kept calling us little girls, but we have an old soul within. Lol
